Evangeline's pov:
HOLDEN AND I ARE laying on the floor of my dorm room "So, have you talked to Gia?" I question looking up from my textbook — Holden and I are partners for an assignment in art, we have to make an art poster with art from an olden time and explain what's going on — in deep detail
I see the smile Holden's trying to hide as he draws in pencil on the canvas "Ohhh, so you have talked to her." I teased with tapping my pencil against his shoulder and he shoves me back playfully "Why do you have to be so adamant when it comes to your friends relationships?." He said and I chuckled
"Because, mines are boring so I live vicariously through you guys. Now, tell em what you guys talked about." I say with a smile turning my chair to him and crossing my arms. "It was only for a few minutes, we were in the hallway during passing and I asked her what she liked, she was pretty vague about it though so." Holden shrugged and I look down at my phone
"Hmm? Interesting." I smiled and He looks up from the canvas , "I know you've talked to Jay. I saw you guys at practice yesterday." Holden teased with a sly smirk "Actually —" Holden cut me off by holding his finger up
"Ah, ah, actually nothing. I saw you fall into Leila , Ivy and Ella after he smiled at you. And I saw him blow you a kiss when he dominated that goal at practice." He pointed out knowingly and I crossed my arms getting up from my seat.
"Can I talk now?" I lean on my canopy bed post "By all means. Entertain me." He had fully dropped the pencil in his hand and crossed his body turning to me crossing his legs
I take a deep breath "So, I think I may like him but I don't know — but I've never felt anything like this — and — and when he smiles at me I feel like a bunch of tadpoles are swimming around in my stomach , and my hands get all clammy and I don't know what's wrong with me!" I exclaimed flopping back on the bed .
I can hear Holden snickering with everything in him and I sit up and glare at him. "I'm — Im sorry." He chokes out through laughter "Okay. How do you feel about Jay?" Holden stands up and walks over and sits next to me on my king sized bed.
"Okay, uh, first off I feel like I can be myself around him, if that makes any sense. Like when I'm around most of the people here at this school, I have to be nice and super upbeat because if I'm not I have an attitude and I'm ruining their day. He's super cute, like really cute. And he isn't as mean as people say he is, like he has this tough guy act , but really he's a big goofball. He stops by my dorm almost every other night to ask the most random questions. And he's overall... really great." I sigh taking a breath
I look at Holden and he's wearing this proud smile "That's what wrong with you, you like him. And there's nothing wrong with that, at all." He says giving me a hug . I smile and wrap my arms around his waist "Your the best substitute brother any girl can ask for. Thanks denden." I pull away and I grab my phone and leap off the bed
"And where are you going?" Holden crossed his arms sternly "Calm down , big brother. I'm going to go check on them, I'll be right back, promise." I smiled grabbing my phone and sliding out the room "Stay." I said sternly before heading to Mal, Evie, and Gia's dorm.
I'm walking with excitement when I run into someone , I look up and see Ben "Watch where you're going, please!" I exclaim dusting my skirt off.
Ben looked down at me and had a nervous look plastered on his face " Eva! Where are you uh, where are you going?" He asked nervously "To go check on the vk's... why?" I ask raising an eyebrow
"Mind if I tag along?"

WE GET TO THE DOOR and I nudge Ben and tell him to knock "Why me?" He asked "Maybe because your the future king?" I said as if it was the obvious answer "But —" he tried to protested and I placed a single finger to my lips and he pursed his lips together turning to knock on the door three times
We wait a beat before the door swings open and Mal stands before us and Ben eyes are stuck on her as if he's seen the most beautiful thing ever , I nudged him with my elbows holding a smile and he coughs before talking ""Hey, Mal. I didn't see you guys today. I was just wondering If you had any questions or anything... That.. you needed.." Ben trailed off, trying to find a way to hide that he wanted to talk to her more.
Mal looked back at the rest of her friends and I peer over her shoulder and examine the room , Jay is leaning against the bed post with a smirk and I quickly pull my eyes to the floor where Gia and Carlos are , Gia's head in his lap while Carlos pets dude and Evie sitting at the table .
Mal turned her head back to us with a headshake ""Not that I know of." She says and Jay is still staring at me and I start to squirm "Okay! If you need anything you know where to find us." I said and me and Ben start to leave
"Oh, wait!" I hear Gia call out and we quickly turn back and I see Gia scurrying off the floor to get to the door , I secretly want Jay to need something because I'd help him with anything, at all
Gia leans against Mal and plasters a smile on her face "Um, is it true that we all get to go to your coronation?" Gia asks fixing the collar on her burgundy jumper
Ben and I both nod ""Yeah, the whole school goes." Ben answered with a bright smile. "I get crowned king and Eva gets blessed as my Royal Advisor." He answered with a smile
"Wow. That is beyond exciting. Do you think that it's a possibility that the four of us could stand in the front row next to the fairy godmother, just so we could soak up all that goodness?" Gia asked. And I tilted my head , that's kind of odd. But not at the same time.
I give them a sorry smile "We really wish you could, it would be great to have you guys right there. But unfortunately upfront it's Ben , his parents, his godforsaken girlfriend, me and my date." I answer interlocking my fingers letting them rest infront of my thighs.
"Your girlfriend?" Mal points at Ben "And your date?" Gia points at me "Yeah. I'm sorry." Ben apologized
Mal's smile got all toothy before suddenly "Okay. Thanks, bye." She goes to shut the door in our faces but I put my hand there to stop it "Let's not do that again. You're welcome, bye." I say removing my hand. Gia and Mal both smiled "Thanks." They said again before shutting the door
"Was that necessary?" Ben asked as we walk away, I turn my head "You know I like respect. Doesn't matter what side you're from, I expect it." I shrug with a smile

IM CUDDLING WITH BEIGNET on my bed as my tv plays Fairy Tale Flings my favorite reality show . The show is about 20 people 10 males 10 females , who go on the show to live there fairy tale dreams, they do challenges and there's a whole lot of drama, they match up first day and see how it goes from there, it doesn't work out both parties get sent home
My stomach starts growling and I look down at my pup "are you hungry? Cause I'm hungry, and I don't want to walk the halls this late." I ask my dog and she sits up and turns her head to me before she starts licking my chin
I start laughing before crawling out of bed grabbing my white short silk robe putting it on over my green two piece, I slip on my frog princess house shoes and grab my phone .
I walk to the door and tap my leg "Come on, my stomachs getting angrier by the second." Beignet scurried off the bed and I cut my flashlight off as we walked throughout the hallway to get to the kitchen
We get to the kitchen door and there's a light peering from under it "I swear if whoever's in here touched my Oreos." I mumble to myself before twisting the nob and pushing the door open facing the vk's. Mal pulled a napkins onto the table while Gia and Evie stood side by side and Carlos and Jay are on the counter with dude and they all plaster on fake smiles, well I don't think Jay's is fake. He's practically beaming.
"Oh, hi guys!" I exclaim with a little wave , beignet runs past me and try's to jump on Carlos and he chuckles and bends down to pick her up and sets her on his lap as she gets comfy
I walk up to the table and lean on it"Midnight snack? Because same. I was watching fairy tale flings , when I got hungry and thirsty so here I am." I explained before peering into their mixing bowl "Watcha baking?" I ask with a smile
Mal looked up and shrugged ""Nothing, just um, cookies." I look over the bowl and raise an eyebrow curiously before dabbing my finger into the batter before placing it on my tongue "No!" They all yell at me and I put my hands up in surrender
"Woah, chill, I'm not gonna double dip. I'm not Ella or Ivy , those two double dip like it's not tomorrow, but they're so sweet and my bestfriends so, you take the good with the bad." I shrug
"Hey, uh, Eva." Jay spoke jumping off the counter "Hmm?" I hum quickly turning to him , maybe a little to quickly "Do you feel, anything?" Jay asked
I look at his eyes and then the tadpole feeling happens again , Jay grinned flirtatiously swiftly tucking a piece of hair behind his ear , I shake my head "Nada." I said before turning back to Mal
"But the batter is a little plain and dry . Try adding some more milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, some walnuts, and chips." I recommend walking to the cabinet and I see Jay's smile fall as he went to lean back on the countertop he was once sitting on
""And what exactly are chips?" Mal asked, stirring the batter with a silver whisk , I furrow my eyebrows in confusion before grabbing the bag of chocolate chips and the rest of the ingredients I recommended.
"Chocolate chips? Only the most essential ingredient of all food groups. That and Oreos.
You could never go wrong with Oreos." I chuckled with a light shake of my head. I walked back over to the table and poured some chocolate chips into a small glass bowl.
I can feel the vk's looking at me in confusion once I looked back up at them and popped a couple of chocolate chips into my mouth before pouring some into the large stainless steel bowl with the batter.
"What? Your parents never made you guys chocolate chip cookies?" Mal slowly stopped stirring. I frowned.
"You know.. Like, when you are sad over a heartbreak or just because you're feeling sad and you have no idea why. They sit down with you and talk to you about whatever then make you chocolate chip cookies that are fresh out of the oven - all warm and just the right amount of gooey - then they do everything in their power to make you laugh?' I prompted, pursing my lips when i saw the sad eyes on every one of the vk's faces. "No?" I asked, voice low.
"It's just.. It's different where we're from." Gia shrugged and looked down at the table, slightly leaning forward playing with her fingertips.
"Ye — yeah. I, uh, I know. I just thought.
You know what? It, uh, doesn't matter what I thought." I stumbled over my words. My eyes looked over the villain kids and I felt a pang at my heart.
Evie closed her eyes and exhaled softly, Mal went back to mixing, Gia stood upright and crossed her arms letting out a deep breath, Jay rubbed his arm uncontrollably, and Carlos simply stared down at the floor.
I knew that things had to be bad on the Isle, but I didn't know how bad it actually was. My eye locked with Jay who had slowly looked up from the table. I frowned and reached out to place my hand on one of his that was laying on the table.
Jay looked down at our hands. I squeezed his hand softly. "I'm, uh, I'm sorry." As tears welled up in my eyes, one slid down my cheek ever so slowly, before I can wipe it away and play strong again Mal wiped it away before flicking it off of her finger. I flinched back, letting go of Jay's hand.
"Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these in the oven. Thank you so much for coming by, have a goodnight. Evil dreams!" Mal exclaimed as she began to push me out of the kitchen, beignet jumping out of Carlos's lap following after
"Hold on!" I called maneuvering around Mal "I didn't get a single snack. Quit rushing me in leaving right after." I say as I walk back to the cabinet "Where are my Oreos, Oreos , Oreos." I say in a sing song voice trying to locate my snack
"Leila and Preston say I'm an addict , so they hide them from me —" my words die into a whine when I spot my Oreos at the very top of the cabinets "Are you kidding me!" I huff standing on my tippy toes and jumping trying to reach it — I'm only 5'3 and a half , I'm not reaching the top of the cabinet
I turn around , ashamed, to see the vk's all holding back laughs, but still semi snickering "Ha, ha, ha. Very funny!" I groan placing a hand on my hip "Uh Gia or Jay, can, um — can one of you get my Oreos down, please?" I ask nicely
Gia snickers about to walk around the table but Jay reaches behind and over me grabbing the pack of Oreos and handing them to me "Oh, wow. E- Uh, thank you." I stutter as the fiery blush spread across my face , and he winks. The cocky bastard WINKS!
I turn to Jay and give him a hug rubbing my hands up his back, he goes stiff and it has me wondering, has he ever been hugged before. After a short while he starts rubbing my back in circles "I'm so,so,so sorry." I whisper into his chest and he places his chin on my head .
I pull away and head for the door with beignet , sending one final wave over my shoulder.
