𝑪𝑯𝑹𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑨𝑵𝑨 𝑾𝑨𝑺 going to need a lot of emotional support tonight with her agreeing to let Brian come over tonight so she did the only reasonable thing any other person would do...She invited Eli and Mia over for dinner when the pair came over they were greeted to Christiana who was violently mixing ingredients in a bowl while Jesse watched 'Super Why'
"Hey Chrissy?" Eli greeted reluctantly "Hi Eli" Christiana huffed throwing down the spoon in hand before looking up at the man "Did I do something?" Eli asked confused by the greeting "No you didn't do anything I just-" Christiana started cutting herself and roughly wiping her face
"I think you need a break"
"Yeah I do I really do" The Brown woman sighed shaking her head in agreement "Alright Come on" Eli Stated sticking his hand out for Christiana to grab the two then made their way to Christiana's Backyard
"Alright what's wrong?" Eli taking a seat on one of the swings he set up fro Jesse a few months back " I feel weird about Brian being in the house" Christiana groaned sitting down in the seat next to him "And I don't know why he's been in my house three times in the past week" Christiana added "Even though one of those times where without my knowledge"
"Do you want me to turn him around when he gets here? Cause I'll do it happily" The Tan man smiled Eli still wasn't sold on Brian being back in Jesse and Christiana's life while he knew he was only there for Jesse it still left him in a sour mood he shouldn't be able to come back like everything was fine
"Don't do that" She replied with a soft chuckle "I just feel like everything is moving so fast one second he didn't know now he does and he's coming over for dinner" She sighed kicking dirt on the ground
"You know it doesn't have to be like this right? You can start off slow if you need to" Eli reminded the stressed women "I know but Jesse was so excited and I know I'm not supposed to spoil him but this is the first time he's seen his dad I didn't know what to do"Christiana grumbled looking up at the man
"Have this be a one and done approach Brian doesn't always have to be over here maybe start with a public setting then only when you're ready have him come to the house" Eli suggested "Thats if he stays around long enough to make it back to the house" He added
"That was mean Eli"
"Its true though! Look go at your pace Christiana" Eli suggested as he put a comforting hand on the brown woman's shoulder "Thank you Eli" Christiana said smiling softly at the man
"It's no problem"
𝑻𝑰𝑴𝑬 𝑾𝑨𝑺 cracking down Brian would be here in a couple minutes and dinner was ready "Alright please eat as much as you can Jesse so we don't waste our food" Christiana reminded the boy as she put him at the table chair sitting him on top of some phone books
"You okay Christiana?" Mia asked putting a comforting hand on her shoulder "Yeah just a little anxious" Christiana reassured the girl "Well if you need any comforting just let me-" Mia started getting cut off by the sound of the doorbell
"He's Here!" Jesse announced with a huge smile "I'll get it" Eli told the two girls making both of them do a double take "You sure you want to do that?" Christiana asked taking small steps to Eli "Yeah want to have a quick talk with him thats all" Eli shrugged before opening the door to walk out shutting the door behind him
Outside he was met with Brian who was face was filled with confusion "Is Christiana here?" Brian asked raising his eyebrow "Yeah she's here" Eli responded plainly "And you are?" Brian asked confused
"Oh I'm Eli her brother"
"Chris doesn't have any siblings that's cute though"
"Oh I became her Brother in those five years you were gone" Eli revealed leaning on the front door looking at Brian lazily "Do we have a problem?" Brian asked now aware of Eli's hostility "Oh we got a big problem" was all Eli said
"Dude back off I don't even know you" Brian laughed unfazed "You don't have to know me...But I know a lot about you and I don't appreciate how you think you can walk back into her life like nothing happened" Eli admitted pushing off the door now standing straight up
"I don't think you can dictate how any of this works" Brian laughed in the mans face "No but I do have a few opinions and words of support...you know with me being Chrissy's bother and Jesse's godfather" Eli smirked at the boy causing Brians smile to drop at the mention of Jesse
Brian wanted so desperately to punch Eli he even stepped closer to the man "Oh you're going to hit me? I don't think they'll take that well" Eli told the blonde man "Look here's what I'm going to say do right by them" Eli stated
"I'm trying man" Brian sighed shaking his head "Well try harder then do more than that if you don't it's me and you" Eli warned to man
𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑻𝑾𝑶 𝑴𝑬𝑵 made it inside the Jordan House where they saw the dining table with plates of food "We already said grace so sit down" Christiana stated taking a seat next to Jesse the two men came filing in with Brian sitting on the opposite side of Jesse next to Eli
"Uh Hi Brian" Mia greeted the blonde man awkwardly it's been five years since she seen him she wasn't angry with the man or anything It was just weird seeing him after all this time "Hey Mia" Brian smiled softly
"Uh this is my fiancé Eli" Mia added pointing across the table to Eli "Yeah uh we met" Brian scoffed shaking his head softly "What did y'all talk about?" Christiana asked raising her eyebrow at the two men
"Just gave him some advice" Eli answered plainly "Yeah it was real eye opening" Brian added sarcastically clenching his jaw at the man "Right..."Christiana replied reluctantly sensing the hostility
"Anyways how was school Jesse?" Christiana asked redirecting her attention to her son "Cool I got a hot-wheel from my teacher today" Jesse smiled perking up at the memory "Why'd she give you a hot-wheel?" Christiana asked
"I did good on my math sheet"
"Thats great buddy"Brian smiled ruffling Jesses hair "Yeah my teacher said I'm great at math!" Jesse beamed looking at his father "That's real good Jess only a matter of time until you're at MIT" Mia Joked
"Whats that?"Jesse asked scrunching this face in confusion "It's a fancy school bud" Eli Laughs taking a sip of his water "That's boring I wanna build a car...Or a rocket!"Jesse announced making the adults let out a soft chuckle
"Well you'll need school to do that" Brian and Christiana spoke simultaneously making the parents look up at each other and smile "Jinx!" Jesse yelled out with a smile
𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑹𝑬𝑺𝑻 𝑶𝑭 dinner went by great with an occasional slick remark by Eli. Mia and Eli had left leaving Brian and Christiana alone together with a tired Jesse who Brian begged Christiana to put to bed she agreed to it as she went to clean the house from the gathering
"He asleep" Brian announced to Christiana walking out of the young boy's room "Thank you did he change into pajamas?" Christiana asked turning to the man getting a confused look by Brian " He's been fighting me about a lot of clothing decisions lately" She clarified
"Yes he did get into pajamas...some nice sponge bob ones to be exact" Brian laughed walking to the women who was elbow deep in dish water "Here I'll help" Brian offered taking a dish out of her hand rinsing it off "You don't have to help you can go home if you want" Christiana told him
"It's fine I ate too the least I can do is help clean up"Brian told the woman before going back to helping her the two washed dishes in a comfortable silence until Brian finally broke it
"He doesn't call me dad"
"What are you talking about?"Christiana asked looking up at the blue eyed man "Jesse...he doesn't call me dad we said goodnight and he just went night " Brian elaborated drying his hands "Well he just met you Brian" Christiana reasoned
"Yeah but he was so open with me being back..."Brian sighed "I don't know I just thought he'd call me dad" Brian revealed "You got to give him time Brian he'll call you dad eventually" Christiana reassured the man putting an hand on his shoulder
"Now get out of your feelings and let's finish cleaning up"
