I was awoken by sirens. " Uuuuuggghh," I said. Everything hurt. My legs, my arms, even the tips of my fingers. I looked at myself suddenly realizing that I had little cuts and bruises on my arms. I was drawn to my legs by the pain shooting out of them and saw with horror the huge gash on my left leg. The same one that I had broken not long ago. The same one that had me carried by David. " David," I thought. He was gone, and my mothers cruel words really were true.
I looked around and saw huge ambulances parked in my driveway. " Oh good she's awake," I heard one of the paramedics said. I turned and saw my mother in one of the ambulance beds. she was breathing but banged up. " What happened," I asked. One of the paramedics went to my side and started explaining. " Well your mother was in an accident. She will be in the hospital for a little while but she'll be back soon, I promise," He said in a comforting tone. What had I done? had i hurt her? I found myself trying to stand and then falling back to my knees. it stung and I swore under my breath. The sun was out and poured sunshine on our overgrown trees. It seemed to be mocking my situation since I felt so horrible while the sun was still able to shine.
So I just sat there. the wind made the trees shake, making leaves fall to the green, slightly dead, grass. Since it was September It was still warm but I was sure that it wouldn't last. Then I realized that so much had happened in the last few days. I then remembered what I wanted to do all along. Stay in my room and do what I was good at, magic. If they just let me do that then my mother wouldn't be in the hospital, I wouldn't have huge gashes on my legs, and I never would have met David. I would never have to feel this pain. David would just be in school and he wouldn't have to deal with any of this. My mother should never have gotten him involved. I should have never let him come near my house to find out my secret.
