Cheers were heard around the city as the pink and blue trolls locked lips. Some even let out happy tears for them.
"What.. just happened?" The blue troll asked, glancing up to look at his hair, which had been braided.
"Oh, that?" The pink troll giggled, "Viva just braided your hair. It means she likes you." She gestured to Viva, who ran to them, smiling.
"It means I like you!" She confirmed what her sister said.
"We're gonna have the best family reunion ever." Poppy smiled giddily.
"And a big, long talk with Dad." Viva rolled her eyes jokingly at the thought of her father. Poppy scoffed. "King of secrets, that guy."
"Right? What is his deal?"
"I swear that literally no one has any idea! Every few months, I keep learning new secrets he's been keeping for who knows how long!" Branch nodded along to what his girlfriend said.
"Yeah, like last time, we learned that there are different troll tribes." Branch said this while starting to untangle his braids.
"Wait.. troll tribes?" Clay asked in shock.
"Yep." John Dory confirmed, "I was pretty shocked myself when I learned that they're other trolls that look different and sing different. Pretty weird, but honestly, it's kind of cool." He then smiled while looking up at the sky. "And that country troll leader was quite beautiful as well."
"You met Delta Dawn?!" Poppy yelled.
"Oh yeah~ But she kicked me out after I tried to sing to her.. what a shame."
"Maybe she doesn't like pop music?" Floyd suggested.
"Or it's probably because John looked stupid while doing it." Bruce laughed while imagining his oldest brother trying to serenade the poor troll.
"Hey!" Everyone laughed while John Dory crossed his arms, pouting.
"At least she only kicked you out; last time she threw us in prison."
"...what?"
A little later, everyone settled back in the armadillo bus.
"Alright all, let's leave this place! Gives me the creeps!" Tiny Diamond shouted while settling in his driver seat.
"That baby can drive?" Viva asked while staring at the front, weirdly.
"Yeah, he's been driving, like.. most of the way here." Poppy casually answered.
"Most??"
Suddenly, Poppy noticed Clay standing behind Viva. Gesturing for her to leave them alone to talk. Poppy blinked to let him know that she understood.
"Uh... Um! I have.. to go make sure that Branch is okay! I'll talk to you later, sis! Okay, bye!" Before Viva could say anything, the younger troll quickly ran away to go find her boyfriend.
"O- okay...." Viva pouts.
Then, the sound of Clay clearing his throat caused Viva to jump out of her skin.
"C-Clay-" She stuttered, stunned.
"Hey, Vivs.. Sorry, I had to get Poppy to step away for a moment so I could talk to you alone."
"Talk to me? Why? About what?" Viva looked down at the floor, not wanting to meet his eyes.
"About leaving you behind... I'm so sorry." He apologised. Viva blushed while he stared at her apologetically.
"Look, Clay.. I understand."
"You do?" Clay asked in disbelief. His head tilted.
"Yeah. I was the one in the wrong. I shouldn't have tried to stop you from going to save your brother. He's very important to you." Viva gently smiled.
"You're important to me too." Clay admitted.
"I know, but he's your family, blood related, and you know him before me, so he should be your number one priority." Clay went silent; his mouth opened, but no words were coming out.
"Okay, I have no idea how to respond to that, but I did promise you that I'd be by your side." Viva chuckled.
"You are now!"
"But still, I left." Clay sighed.
"-To do what is right. Clay, I'm not mad at you. Yeah, I was sad, but not after I realised what had to be done." She laughed at his gloomy face.
"Really?" He asked sceptically. Viva started chuckling again.
"Yes! Of course." For the next minute, they stared at each other silently, with Clay trying to read Viva's expression and Viva smiling brightly at him.
"Clay," Viva suddenly sighed. She frowned, staring tensely at him, causing Clay to mentally flinch.
"...yes?" He asked nervously while Viva walked slowly closer to him.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Uh.. you already did." Viva facepalmed. "Not that!"
Clay chuckled. "Heh sorry. You made me nervous."
"Yeah.. I'm sorry about that. I... okay, this is going to sound really weird, but..."She quickly let out the breath she'd been holding in. "Do you.. still love me? Like how you were before?"
Clay stiffened at her sudden question before relaxing his shoulders.
"Yeah. I definitely do, and I think... I'm even more in love with you now." He gave her a little smile before reaching for her hands.
"Even more?" Viva looked at him weirdly.
"Heck yeah!" He raised his voice a little. "Vivs, I never knew that you could be even braver, and you know what? I am so proud of what you did."
"Just for leaving the village?"
"More than that. You left your comfort zone to come save us. You trusted those two Bergens. The Bergens that you spend your entire life being afraid of! That was so brave of you, Viva, and I think that's amazing. You are amazing. You have no idea.. of how relieved I was to see your face."
"And you have no idea how relieved I was to see that you're still alive. That I wasn't too late." Viva pulled Clay into her embrace. The two friends held each other for a minute before slowly pulling away.
"After you're gone," Viva continued, her face solemn. "I realised how much I.. love you. Even more than I thought."
"Yeah, I know. I really love you too, Viva." He confessed. "Is now a good time to ask if I can be your boyfriend?" He asked, his smile widening at the sight of her even bigger smile.
"Now is definitely the right time. And yes, you can definitely be my boyfriend if I can be your girlfriend too." She laughed. Clay nodded his head quickly in excitement.
"Yeah!" He pulled her into his arms again, giving her a big cuddle. Her face squished against his shoulders.
Everyone else clapped excitedly at the two's new-found relationship. Poppy cried happily while Branch was trying to rub her shoulders to comfort her.
They pulled away, still smiling at each other. "So," Viva started, "is this the part where.. we share a kiss?" She asked, her gaze slowly shifting to his lips.
"You have no idea how I've been waiting to do this." He chuckled before slowly capturing her lips. His hands moved up to the back of her head to deepen the kiss while she rested hers on his chest.
"We're getting another sister-in-law! Wooo!" John cheered excitedly.
