A Jar Jar is about to snatch another fruit Qui Gon grabs his tongue and Jar Jar Yelps.
Qui Gon:"don't do that again"
He lets go of his tongue.
Y/n:"you're a Jedi knight aren't you?"
Padmé glances at Qui Gon
Qui Gon:"what makes you think that?"
Y/n:"I saw your laser sword only Jedi carry that kind of weapon"

Qui Gon:"I believe you two can but first we must acquire the parts we need"

Anakin:"there's a big race tomorrow on Boonta Eve you could enter our pod"

Anakin:"you could make him think it was yours... and get him to let me pilot it for you"

Y/n:"mom, you say the biggest problem in this universe is nobody helps each other... let me go to the race i'm older and more experienced than anakin"
she regards him with a long care worn gaze.
Padmé:"I'm sure Qui Gon doesn't want to put your son in danger"
Padmé:"we'll find some other way"
Shmi:"no.. there is no other way"
Shmi:"I may not like it but he can help you"

Y/n looks up the head of the table where Qui Gon stares off distantly.

on a busy street in Moss Espa Qui Gon leads Padmé, Jar Jar and R2 toward Watto's junk shop.
Padmé:"are you sure about this?" She asked making Qui Gon stop and Turn to her.
Padmé:"trusting our fate to a boy we hardly know?"
Padmé:"the Queen will not approve"
Qui Gon:"The Queen doesn't need to know"
he goes inside.
Padmé:"well I don't approve" She Pouted
Watto:"and the boy tells me you wanna sponsor him in the race"
Watto:"how can you do this? not on the Republic credits, I think, huh?"
Qui Gon:"my ship will be the entry fee"
he shows a hologram and Y/n gazes at it and mouths a 'wow'.

Watto:"oh, not bad! not bad, huh? a Nubian, huh?"
Qui Gon:"it's in good order except for the parts I need"
he closes the hologram
Watto:"what would the boy ride? his brother smashed up my pod in the last race it will take some long time to fix it"
Y/n:"it wasn't Anakin's fault really Sebulba flashed him with his vents He actually saved the pod, well mostly"
Watto:"mmm that he did, huh"
He chuckles a little
Watto:"the boy's good no doubts there, huh?"
Qui Gon:"well I have acquired a pod in the game of chance, the fastest ever built"
Watto:"I hope you didn't kill anyone I know for it, huh?"
He laughs a little.
Watto:"so, you supply the pod and the entry fee, I supply the boy"
Watto:"we split the winnings, um, 50-50, I think, huh?"
Qui Gon:"if it's going to be 50-50 I suggest you front the cash for the entry"
Qui Gon:"if we win, you keep all the winnings,minus the cost of the parts I need and if we lose, you keep my ship"

As Watto Grumbles in thought Qui Gon and Y/n trade cunning glances

He slaps Qui Gon's palm and the Jedi leaves.

later on the dunes outside Moss Espa the Queen's ship gleams in the sun.
Obi Wan speaks into his comm link
Obi Wan:"what if this plan fails, master? we could be stuck here a very long time"
Qui Gon:"well, it's too dangerous to call for help, and a ship without a power supply isn't going to get us anywhere and... there's something about these two boys"
alone on a dusty terrace, Qui Gon pockets his comm link.
Anakin's mother joins him
Qui Gon:"you should be very proud of your sons they give without any thought of reward"
Shmi:"well they know nothing of greed they have a-"
Qui Gon:"they have special powers"
Shmi:"yes'
Qui Gon:"They can see things before they happen that's why They appears to have such quick reflexes it's a Jedi trait"

six children, including a young blue creature and a dark haired boy gather around Anakin And Y/n.

the boy points at R2 who is beside C-3PO.
Kitster:"how did you get so lucky?"
Anakin:"that isn't the half of it My Brother is in the boonta race tomorrow"

the alien laughs
Blue Alien*Alien Language* :"you're such a joker, Ani"
Girl#1:"you've two been working on that thing for years"
Girl#2:"it's never gonna run"
Ginger Haired Boy:"come on let's go and play ball"

As they leave Anakin looks down.
Y/n sighs and touches his shoulder.
Y/n:"Ignore them, Ani Tomorrow I'm gonna show them that this thing works"
Anakin smiles.
Jar Jar stands near sparking currents of energy that are between the pod's twin jet engines.
Y/n:"hey, Jar Jar"
Jar Jar Accidentally Drops a wrench between just below the energy binders.
Y/n:"keep away from those energy binders if your hand gets caught in the beam, it's gonna go numb for hours"
Jar Jar:"Sorry.. Ok"
As he gets down and picks his wrench up Jar Jar's mouth gets zapped, And he yelps and drops the wrench inside one of the turbine engines.
Jar Jar*Muffled* :"my Tongue Is Fat"
His tongue dangles from his mouth.
Jar Jar:"My Tongue- Wrench"
he reaches through one of the turbine engines fan rotors.
Jar Jar:"Hey uh-oh"
his hand gets stuck.
Jar Jar:"Uh, Y/n, I'm stuck Y/n-"
C-3PO:"You know, I find that Jar Jar creature to be a little odd"
R2 Makes gurgling sounds in response
Kitster:"you don't even know if this thing's gonna run" he said as Y/n climbed into the pod.
Anakin:"it will"
Qui Gon:"I think it's time we found out"
Qui Gon:"here, use this power charge"
Y/n takes it.
Qui Gon:"come on, Kitster let's move away"
He and Kitster Move away.
Jar Jar*Muffled* :"My- My Mouth"
As Y/n prepares to start the racer Padmé Frees Jar Jar.
C-3PO:"you're quite right he's very odd indeed"
Jar Jar:"Oh Th- Thank You"
as Jar Jar gives Y/n a thumbs up, the boy grips two steering throttles.
the engine's fan rotor spin to life and a cone of fire jets from its end.
the pair of torquing engines hover in front of the pod like horses rain to a chariot.
Y/n:"It's working! It's working!"
Anakin Smirks.
jetwing whips through Y/n's hair and his mother's smile fades.

after dark, Y/n is already asleep in his room and Anakin is on the terrace and stares at the black star filled sky.
Qui Gon:"stay still, Ani let me clean this cut"
Anakin:"there's so many do they all have a system of planets?"
Qui Gon:"most of them"
Anakin:"has anyone been to 'em all?"
Qui Gon:"hmm not likely"
Anakin:"I wanna be the first one to see 'em all"
Qui Gon Wraps a bandage around the boy's arm.
Shmi:"Ani, Bedtime!"
Anakin:"Ow!" He said as Qui gon wrapped the bandage around his arm a little too tight.
Qui Gon:"there we are good as new"
Shmi:"Ani, I'm not going to tell you again"
Anakin:"what are you doing?"
Qui Gon:"checking your blood for infections just like i did with Y/n"
Qui Gon:"go on your brother has a big day tomorrow i'm sure you wouldn't want to miss it"
Anakin Walks into his home.
Qui Gon:"sleep well, Ani"
Qui Gon pulls out his comm link.
Qui Gon:"Obi Wan?"
Obi Wan:"yes, master?"
Qui Gon:"I need an analysis of a blood sample I'm sending you"
Obi wan:"wait a minute"
he turns on a computer
Qui Gon:"I need a Midi-chlorian count"
Qui Gon slides a chip into his comm link.
Obi Wan:"the reading is off the chart over 20,000"
Qui Gon:"I Have another blood sample"
He pulls out the chip and puts another one into his comm link.
Obi Wan:"This time it almost reaches 30,000 even Master Yoda doesn't have a midi-chlorian count that high"
Qui Gon:"no Jedi has"
Obi Wan:"what does that mean?"
Qui Gon:"I'm not Sure"
glancing up, he sees Shmi watching.
