CEE'S HOUSE was smokey from the amount of smoke being blown in the air all around his home.
there was a good amount of people standing around with cups in their hands, and trying to talk louder than the loud music that was being played.
overall, Kailani had a headache.
she shrugged off the annoyed feeling she had from the headache, tapping on the cup that was in her hand.
she felt someone roughly grab her hand and pull her towards them, causing her to almost spill the alcohol that was in her cup.
Alaina grabbed onto her waist, singing the lyrics of the song that was playing throughout the house loudly, before turning around and twerking on her.
Loren cheered, clapping her hands as Kailani laughed, placing her hand on Alaina's waist.
eventually the three parted, and Kailani headed to the living room in hopes she could find a place to sit, finding herself grow light headed.
"aye," Zayn grabbed onto her wrist, quickly stopping her as she almost walked past. "hey, Kailani."
"hi, Zayn." Kailani smiled at him, folding her lip inwards into a straight line at the fact he had stopped her.
"i ain't seen you this whole time, where you been at?" he asked, stopping holding onto her wrist gently.
she pointed over to the spot her and her friends just were, making him simply nod.
his eyes trailed down her entire figure, smiling. his hand swiftly moved from her wrist and to her hand, grabbing onto it and raising it, "you look good, mami."
Kailanis eyebrows raised at the nickname, feeling caught of guard. "thank you." she smiled, feeling her face get hot as he spun her around.
his hand never left hers, as he continued to talk to her. more so, tried to make small talk.
Kailani listened the best she could, not being able to hear him much due to the music being played.
Zayns words got cut off as Jayclickin walked up to them, a cup in his hand and his ski pulled up to sit just above his lips.
Zayn let go of her hand, dapping Jay up.
"oh, what's good, Kailani?" Jay spoke, sticking his arm out to bring her into a side hug.
"hi, Jay." she spoke, smelling both the alcohol and weed scents on him, causing her nose to scrunch at the harsh mixture.
as the two boys fell into conversation, Kailani awkwardly rocked on her heels, looking around to see if she could find anyone she knew.
she silently waved bye to the two, walking off and to the direction of the living room, where she was originally headed.
"Kailani!" Cee spoke, giving her a crooked smile as he stood in front of her.
it was obvious he was tipsy.
Kailani let out a sigh at the fact she had been stopped again. but slightly smiled, "happy birthday!"
he chuckled at the girl, wrapping his arm around her. "thank you, my heart."
the interaction was quick, as Cee walked off the the friends that were calling his name.
Kailanis eyes landed on the long couch in Cees living room, searching for any open spot.
instead, her eyes landed on a familiar boy that had his arm wrapped around a girl she didn't know.
her stomach turned, feeling a slight disappointed feeling and jealousy.
of course, she knew that Ethan had talked to people during the months the two had stopped talking to each other.. but knowing it and seeing it, was two different things.
Kailani changed into more comfortable clothes, before walking over to her bed and sitting down beside her phone as she talked, on face time with Alaina and Loren.
she told them about the interaction with Zayn, and the nickname he had called her.
Loren cupped her ear, "say, i was right."
Kai rolled her eyes, "fuck you."
Alaina laughed at the two, "so..?"
Kailani blinked, "what?"
"do you like him or what?"
"i mean," Kailani started, clicking her tongue as she thought to herself.
"he's cute, and nice but—" she cut herself off, letting out a huff.
she hated moments like these. the moments she had someone else, and would still compare everything about them to Ethan.
how she still missed him, when he was talking to other people and barely looking in her direction.
"i still like ethan." she mumbled, making her friends let out a groan.
Kailani put her face in her cover, "i know i need to move on."
it was true, she knew it herself, that she needs to let go and stop holding onto the hope that Ethan would come back to her and want something with her.
it had been close to three months, and she hadn't gotten an apology.
she wondered if he even knew he hurt her, or if he thought he didn't anything wrong.
the two were never in a relationship, and somehow the situation between the two hurt Kailani more than her breakups.
"exactly, so this is how you do it!" loren pointed.
"i say, get with Zayn and say fuck Ethan." Alaina shrugged.
Alaina had been close with darrian, ethan and david once as well, and even though all three were very good looking, she refused to have any kind of relationship with them other than a friendship.
she could never take it any further with them, or any of the people they hung out with, because she felt they could never stay loyal.
she hated that Kailani was stuck on Notti, and mad that he was completely oblivious to the fact he had done anything wrong.
Kailani sighed, "yeah.." she mumbled, knowing deep down even if she did get with Zayn, she would still have Notti in the back of her mind at all times.
