in the cockpit a pilot sits at the controls.
the needle nose ship blasts out of the hangar
in a hall Obi Wan looks up at Jar Jar.
Obi Wan:"now, stay here and keep out of trouble"
he leaves and Jar Jar turns to three R2 droids.
Jar Jar:"Hello, boyos"
One of the R2 Droids beeps at him.
Qui Gon reaches the cockpit as the ship rockets away from Naboo.
Pilot:"there's the blockade"
battleships glow up ahead
one fires and red lasers bounce off the force field.
the Port Wing takes a hit.
In the cockpit an alarm beeps.
Pilto:"shield generator has been hit!"
In the hall an alarm also beeps and the droids roll to an air lock.
a dome headed R2 bumps into Jar Jar
Jar Jar:"How wude"
the R2 shoots up the air lock to the top of the ship then joins two other droids on the hit wing.
one gets blasted off.
Obi Wan watches from the cockpit.
Obi Wan:"We're losing droids fast"
Panaka:"If we can't get the shield generator fixed, we'll be sitting ducks"
a second droid gets hit
Pilot:"the Shields are gone!"
on the hit wing the dome headed R2 extends a thin metal arm into the generator.
a screen in the cockpit turns from red to green
Pilot:"power's back!"
the R2 flashes around light
Pilot:"that little droid did it he bypassed the main power drive"
Pilot:"deflector Shields up at maximum"
dodging lasers, they streak over the battleship.
then the Queen's glossy silver ship darts into space.
Pilot:"there's not enough power to get us to Coruscant the hyperdrive is leaking"
Qui Gon:"we'll have to land somewhere to refuel and repair the ship"
Obi Wan:"here, master tatooine"
Obi Wan:"it's small, out of the way poor"
Obi Wan:"the trade federation have no presence there"
Panaka:"how can you be sure?"
Qui Gon:"it's controlled by the Hutts"
Panaka:"you can't take a Royal Highness there the Hutts are gangsters"
Panaka:"if they discovered her ---"
Qui Gon:"it'll be no different than if we landed... on a system controlled by the federation"
Qui Gon:"except that the hutts aren't looking for her, which gives us the advantage"

the dome headed R2 droid stands before the Queen.
Panaka:"and extremely well put together little droid, your Highness"
Panaka:"without a doubt it saved the ship as well as our lives"
Queen Amidala:"it is to be commended.. what is its number?"
Panaka checks its metallic face
Panaka:"R2-D2, your Highness"
Queen Amidala:"thank you, R2-D2"
R2-D2 Happily chirps.
Queen Amidala:"Padmè"
a handmaiden steps forward
Queen Amidala:"clean this droid up as best you can it deserves our gratitude"
Queen Amidala:"continue, captain"
Panaka looks to Qui Gon.
Qui Gon:"Your Highness, with your permission, we're heading for a remote planet called Tatooine"
Qui Gon:"it's in a system far beyond the reach of the trade federation"
Panaka:"I do not agree with The Jedi on this"
Qui Gon:"you must trust my judgement, your highness"

later young Padmè cleans R2-D2
Jar Jar:"hello"
Padmè jumps.
Jar Jar is embarrassed that he frightened her.
Jar Jar:"sorry whosa are yousa?"
Padmè:"I'm Padmè"
Jar Jar:"Mesa Jaja Binks"
Padmè:"you're a gungan aren't you?"
Jar Jar:"uh-huh"
Padmè:"how'd you end up here with us?"
Jar Jar:"my no know Mesa Day starten pitty Okey day witda brisky morning munching den boom! getten berry scared... and grabben dat Jedi, and Pow-Mesa here"
R2-D2 Chirps.
Jar Jar:"huh, Mesa getten berry berry scared"

later the royal starship approaches a marble grey planet with a glowing blue atmosphere.
Pilot:"that's it Tatooine"
Obi Wan:"there's a settlement"
Qui Gon:"land near the outskirts we don't want to attract attention"

on a stretch of flat desert the royal starship lands.
casting a long triangular shadow, a thin cloud of sand swirls around its gleaming home.
on board Qui Gon drapes a rustic poncho over his tunic as he joins Obi Wan in the engine bay.
Obi Wan:"the hyperdrive generator's gone, master we'll need a new one"
Qui Gon:"that'll complicate things be wary"
Qui Gon:"I sense a disturbance in the force"
Obi Wan:"I feel it also, master"
Qui Gon:"don't let them send any transmissions"

now Qui Gon Jar Jar and R2 trudge across barren landscape toward the distance settlement.
Jar Jar:"this sun doen murder to mesa skin"
Panaka:"wait!"
They turn and see Captain Panaka approaching with Padmè.
Panaka:"Her Highness commands you to take her handmaiden with you"
Qui Gon:"no more commands from Her Highness today, captain"
Qui Gon:"the spaceport is not going to be pleasant"
Panaka:"the Queen wishes it she's curious about the planet"
Qui Gon sighs.
Qui Gon:"this is not a good idea" he muttered.
Qui Gon:"stay close to me"
Panaka worried gaze follows them.
at Qui Gon side Padmè walks with them, dressed in a rough belted tunic with her long hair coiled in braids which trail down her back.
