Fairy Grove

Landscapes:
- The Fairy Grove is hidden deep in the Enchanted Forest of the Spring Kingdom. It's the heart of the forest. It's also almost impossible to find in a human form. The fairy grove has its own kingdom throughout the forest. There's tiny tree-houses scattered in the trees above, houses made of flowers or near streams. It's lush and beautiful, and full of light. At the center of the Fairy Grove is the tree where the queen lives.

Weather/Climate:
- The weather of the Fairy Grove is the weather of the Spring Kingdom, because that's where it's located. For the most part, it's relatively perfect and always in bloom with flowers. Even at night, it's bright for fairies because of the light emitted from their wings. The only time fairies have to be careful is when it rains. They have special protocols to protect their wings when something like that happens.

Flora
- With the Fairy Grove being located in the Spring Kingdom, there's some sort of flowers almost year round. The most beautiful flowers grow at the center of the grove, near the tree where the queen lives. A lot of flowers serve as homes for fairies, which is why it's a serious offense to them if a human tramples the flowers. Garden fairies spend most of their time ensuring the plants and flowers in the grove are lush. There are a certain kind of flower that borders the dark forest, usually as a way to show fairies they've gone too far past the border.

Fauna
- Most of the animals are the same as those in the Spring Kingdom, meaning they have some sort of floral aspect to them. Fairies primarily interact with different insects, since they're the same size as them. For the most part, animals are relatively docile. However, as you move closer to the border, the more dangerous it becomes. Some animals appear sweet, but are relatively deadly. Same with some fairies. Some birds tend to attack the fairies, so they're relatively not fans of them.

The Royal Family:

Queen Rosamund - Kerry Washington
King - ?
Princess Elysia - Sofia Wylie
Sibling - ?

The queen is incredibly protective of her children, and doesn't let them leave the tree much. She used to be more carefree, but with certain things happening in the past she's not anymore. While she does expect her children to always appear positive and hopeful to their subjects, behind closed doors she has encouraged them to learn to fight and be prepared for anything. The queen is known to be one of the warmest fairies in the kingdom.

Most of the subjects want a chance to marry one of the queen's children. Marrying one of them causes their powers to be amplified.

History and Conflicts:
Before the Fae were kicked out of the overworld, they lived peacefully in the Spring Kingdom. In fact, fairies were seen as partners of the Spring Kingdom. For each birth of a princess into the Spring Kingdom, they were blessed with the power of a fairy. When they were exiled, they ran off into the enchanted forest and created a hideout known as the Fairy Grove. In contrast to the Fae World, instead of multiple kingdoms they only created one with one set ruler.

The queen of the grove is a light fairy, and the king is a dark fairy. Originally, they ruled together and were known to be the most passionate lovers of all the fairies in the kingdom. The queen and king had four children together, each gaining a different talent. For a very long time, the fairy grove was a happy kingdom. Then, a dark creature began attacking the fairy citizens. It was said to move like a shadow, and would snatch fairies.

Panic and paranoia began rising in the kingdom and fairies began question which dark fairy would control such a creature. That's when rumors started picking up that it was the King behind these attacks. The queen didn't believe it, but her advisor began pointing out details all leading to the king.

The villagers all begun to rebel, and stormed the tree. The King had fled, taking half of their children with him. The other half were left with the Queen. She now rules alone, with only her advisor by her side. She's incredibly protective of her children, but still misses her husband from before who now rules over the Dark Forest.

Economics and Resources:
- The grove is self sufficient. With there being a variety of types of fairies, it's nearly impossible to not have a constant flow of resources. There's always a sufficient food and water supply, and materials that can be used.

Hierarchy:
- There isn't really a strict hierarchy among the fairies. The technical ranking would be the queen and her children, the queen's advisor, and then the other fairies. With that being said, some fairy types are looked down upon. People with more mundane fairy powers (example: sewing, mining) aren't considered valued by some fairies with more powerful talents.

Culture:
For the most part, the fairies really do focus on helping each other succeed. The queen has placed an emphasis on working together and making sure everyone keeps each other safe. However, some fairies do go out of their way to exclude fairies with more common gifts. Dark fairies (although they're rare), are also usually excluded. People don't trust them anymore after the whole shadow monster situation.

There's not a lot of strict rules or punishments that take place in the kingdom. If they do, they happen because of the advisor doling it out. However, the most important rule is that fairies are not allowed to interact with humans. Even though fairies can become human sized, it's strongly discouraged to go out and interact with them. It's also not allowed for fairies to cross the border into the dark forest.

Talents are what really determines "status" in the kingdom. Each fairy only has one talent/main power that they control. It could be something like controlling water, or something like being an incredible chef. Fairies with more powerful talents tend to be the more popular ones of the bunch.

Colors and Values:
Colors: Pink, Gold, and Green
There's technically no kingdom colors for the grove. Most fairies wear colors based off their talent, so water fairies wear blue and sun fairies wear yellow. Things like that.
Values: Community, magic, and safety.

Arts/Entertainment:
- Most of the entertainment in the kingdom tends to be more arts based. Story-telling is a popular pastime in the kingdom. Most of the events that take place put an emphasis on team building, and community. Balls are hosted in the kingdom, but each person is checked thoroughly before they're allowed to enter the tree. They also have multiple days throughout the year dedicated to doing safety procedures.

Animal Masquerade
- To celebrate the animals of the forest, fairies dawn masquerade masks inspired by their favorite animals. A ball is hosted in the Queens tree, and everyone is invited to attend. People dance the night away, get an unreasonable amount of drunk, and then tend to sleep through the next day.

Talent Selection Ceremony
When fairies come of age, they're presented before the queen and have a multitude of symbols in front of them. The one they end up drawn to and touch will unlock the talent that they have. While only leaders of each talent group are allowed to watch, everyone celebrates once the newly sorted fairy comes out.

Annual Knighting Competition
- The practices for becoming a knight are difficult, because it has to be ensured they're strong enough to protect the queen. At the end of the year, the competing knights all have a race. They compete blindfolded, and with their hands tied behind their backs. They run through an obstacle course, and the first five to make it to the end are selected that year.

Fairy Games
- Each fairy talent group nominates two people to compete in their tournament for that year. It's meant to encourage teamwork. Each pairing competes against each other, and the winner gets a trophy and dinner with the queen.

The Dark One Celebration
- For one day of the year, villagers celebrate the fall of the Dark Fairy King and the Dark creature that terrorized the lands. People tell stories about the day it happened, and host tiny bonfires. People usually get reckless and try and see who can get closer to the dark forest border. The queen and her children are never seen on this day. Though no one knows why, it's likely because the queen misses her husband.

Wing Beauty Pageant
- While beauty isn't really a huge value here, it is considered valued to have beautiful wings. People compete once a year and decorate their wings and see who's will look the most beautiful. The winner is usually bestowed a gem by the queen.

Magic
- Almost every kind of magic is welcomed in the grove. Magic is highly valued, and the more powerful or helpful to the community someones magic is, then the higher they're respected. The only type of magic that's frowned upon is Dark magic. It's not banned, but people who use it tend to be excluded by fairies.

Fashion
- Fashion in the fairy kingdom comes from sewing fairies. Most clothing is made out of nature, whether it be grass or flowers. However, some people dress more extravagantly. Clothing really just depends on the talent people have.
- The queen and her children are always dressed up in public. Their clothes primarily have sparkly accents to it, but they also tend to have some sort of layer of armor that blends into it.
- Everyone else has clothing color coded based off of their talents. It's not an enforced dress code, but almost everyone adheres to it. Even if it's just some sort of tiny accent.
