After the crew had their small celebration for their newest crew member, Brook. Sanji called everyone to the dining room for dinner. (Y/N) drooled from the news, flying to the upper deck. "I'm so hungry I bet I could eat more than Luffy."
Luffy stretched his arms, grabbing onto the upper deck's railing. "Oh yeah? Should we have a contest?!" The Straw Hats captain threw himself up and onto (Y/N)'s back.
(Y/N) giggled, turning her head to the boy on her back. "Be prepared to lose, 'Capt." Chopper, Usopp and Franky 'OOO'ed' at (Y/N)'s words. The crew flooded into the dining room, seeing a beautiful meal their chef whipped up. After a long happy dinner, (Y/N) face planted on the table in front of her. "Ughhh. I'm stuffed..."
Luffy giggled happily at the (h/c) haired woman clutching her stomach. "What was all that talk about me losing?" The captain happily ate another piece of meat, slapping his enlarged stomach.
"It's not fair! Your stomach literally inflates!! Captain Cheater." (Y/N) crossed her arms, pouting at her captain.
Franky laughed. "Awe come on, (Y/N)! Don't be a sore loser." Usopp and Chopper joined the cyborg in chanting 'Sore Loser!' at the woman. Shadows covered (Y/N)'s eyes as she got up, sending three punches to the boys.
(Y/N) sighed, walking out the dining room. "I'm going to bed. Thanks you guys, for everything." (Y/N) smiled back at her crew before heading out to the Girl Quarters.
(Y/N) sat on her bed, sighing in relief. "Today was quite a day." The woman unraveled the bandages wrapped around her arms. 'Chopper's probably going to kill me later, but these are too itchy.' (Y/N) carefully placed the bandages next to her before taking off the ones on her legs. Finally, she unraveled the last bundle of bandages on her stomach. (Y/N)'s eyes widened in shock when she saw a paw shaped scar in the center of her stomach. "Hm. At least it's kinda cute. But still..." (Y/N) traced her hand on the long scar on the side of her ribcage. "This is my second real battle scar. I wonder how it will heal or even if it will heal at all. Even so." The woman fell back into her bed, shouting out to herself. "I'm so tired!!" (Y/N) laughed before falling fast to sleep.
~Shhh (Y/N) is sleeping~
(Y/N) jolted up when she heard the sounds of the boys yelling mixed with loud singing. "What the hell?! Brook!! It's too early for this crap! Go back to sleep!"
Nami held her pillow against her ears, grumbling curses under her breath. (Y/N) looked over at the ginger when she got out of her bed, swinging the Girl's Quarters' door wipe open. "Forget about Brook! Someone stop Luffy's snoring!!"
(Y/N) laughed at her navigation. "Welp. I'm wide awake now."
"I'm not." Nami slammed the door shut. "I'm going back to bed. Don't wake me up." (Y/N) 'aye'ed the ginger before hopping out of bed to brush her messy hair.
Grabbing her bag, (Y/N) walked out the Girl's Quarters. She quietly closed the door behind her, to not disturb the two sleeping beauties, before heading off to the dining room. "Hey Sanji." (Y/N) smiled at the chef, who was already preparing the crew's breakfast.
"Ah. Good morning, my gorgeous angel. You look as ravishing as ever." Sanji smiled up at (Y/N) while flipping some pasta in a pan. "How are you this morning?"
"Feeling much better after last night's dinner. Thank you so much for your wonderful meal. Would you like some help this morning?" (Y/N) curiously leaned over counter, looking at the chef work.
"No need. A princess like you should sit back and relax while her food is brought in front of her." Sanji grinned while preparing another dish. (Y/N) chuckled, walking up to the chef. The woman leaned close to Sanji's face, making him brightly blush. "Uh.. (Y/N)? What are you..."
Calmly, (Y/N) held onto Sanji's cig in his mouth. "A prince should also know when his princess is ready to get her hands dirty." (Y/N) took the cook's cig out of his mouth and placed it in hers before turning to grab one of the aprons on the wall. "And don't worry, I know why way around the kitchen. Maybe I can show you some recipes from my home island, Caloot... Sanji?" (Y/N) turned back around to see the chef staring at her in awe as his nose bled. Sanji went love-sick crazy over the woman making (Y/N) put her hands up in defense. After he calmed down, the two prepared their crew's meal.
The rest of the Straw Hats began popping up one after another in the kitchen, saying their good mornings and carrying out causal conversation with one another. (Y/N) happily hummed as she served her crew mates. "I didn't know you cooked, (Y/N)." Franky smiled at the plate given to him.
The woman took the cig out of her mouth to reply. "Sanji's our cook. I just assisted him this morning."
"Don't let her deceive you. She's great in the kitchen." Sanji happily sung with hearts in his eyes.
(Y/N) rolled her eyes at the compliment. Before she could place the cig back in her mouth, Zoro snatched it from her hands and put it out. "Hey! I was—"
"What did I say about you corrupting (Y/N), stupid cook?!" Zoro yelled at Sanji causing another argument between the two.
(Y/N) shook her head at the two as she took off her apron. Nami gasped when she saw (Y/N)'s stomach. "Is that a scar?" (Y/N) tilted her head in confusion as everyone turned to look at the paw print. "Woah. That bastard got you good." Franky stared at her stomach in shock.
(Y/N) placed a hand on the scar, looking down at the print. "Yeah... I hate how I got it, but at least its kinda cute." The woman shrugged before sitting down next to Franky. "I see it as an honest victory. We managed to escape Thriller Bark alive, so a mere scar isn't going to get me riled up. I'm just happy we're all here another day." Everyone nodded their heads in agreement before digging in to their meals.
While everyone was eating, Franky and Nami discussed the crew's next plan of action. "We're not getting anywhere in these calm waters. So if you like, Ms Navigator, I can switch over to paddles instead."
"I don't think that's necessary. Based on the weather, I'll say we'll have wind tomorrow."
"That works. No need to waste my precious cola."
Brook turned to Franky, laughing at the conversation. (Y/N) tilted her head in slight confusion from the skeleton's actions. Luffy happily ate two chicken legs, happily exclaiming about Sanji's and (Y/N)'s cooking. Brook turned to his captain, also laughing at him making (Y/N) grow even more confused. Sanji walked up to Robin, asking if she would like seconds on the seafood salad. Robin happily agreed; (Y/N) joined her, complimenting how delicious the dish was. Brook laughed even more making everyone look up at him. "Hey. What's wrong, Brook?" Usopp questioned the skeleton, followed by Zoro. "You've been acting all creepy since you woke us up."
"Did you see something cool with you were on watch?" Luffy held up one of his chicken legs in confusion. "What was it?"
"While he was making his rounds and keeping an eye on things, he found our voyage journal." Chopper quickly explained. 'Ah. So I'm not the only one who logs my adventures. That's nice to hear.' (Y/N) smiled at the thought.
Brook quickly agreed with Chopper's claim, explain his curiosity led him to read it. "To be honest, I was amazed! Shocked even! My excitement after what happened at Thriller Bark had yet to subside, but for you? That was merely the tip of the iceburg! You were responsible for stopping a civil war in Alabasta. Your adventure of Skypiea, a place thought by many to be nothing more than a legend. You made yourselves enemies of the World Government at Water 7 and Enel's Lobby! I got so excited reading about it, I thought my heart would pop. Well.. that is. If I actually had a heart. Yohohoho!"
(Y/N) giggled at the skeleton as Nami spoke up. "I see. But now that we're actually headed to the New World, I wonder what we'll write about next."
"Everything's that happened since we met Brook will be added too the journal too right?" Chopper innocently questioned his crew making Brook stand up, slamming his hands on the table.
"Precisely my concern!" (Y/N) looked at the skeleton in shock as he spoke. 'Since you've helped me and I've become your comrade, I don't feel I've done anything useful to help you in return!"
"I understand why you're so worked up, but take it easy. Now that you're part of our crew, let me give you a little piece of advice." Nami smirked up at the skeleton. Brook loomed closer to the navigator, giving Nami his full attention. "You must never ever let your guard down during a meal. Not even for a second."
"Right! Understood, Nami!" Brook stood proud, flawing his arms in the air as if he was drawing his sword. "I should be ever vigilant! When an enemy attacks, quick draw Brook will be there to save the dayyy!"
Robin smiled at the skeleton, placing her head on her hands. "Looks like you're a little too late to save this one." Brook looked at the archeologists, confused by her words as Luffy stretched his arms to Brook's food. Brook tried to dive after his meal, but it was already in the captain's mouth.
Brook laughed in defeat from his lack of vigilance before jumping up to his crew members. "Nonetheless! I will do whatever it takes to prove my worth as your new comrade and crew mate. I shall work myself to the bone! Though I'm nothing but bones to start with."
(Y/N) giggled at Brook before going back to eating. After the crew's meal, Zoro walked up to (Y/N). "Come on. Let's go."
(Y/N) tilted her head in confusion at the swordsman. "Go? Where?"
"You already forgot? You were the one who asked me to train you." Zoro irritatedly responded before walking away from her.
(Y/N)'s eyes beamed with excitement. "Oh hell yeah!! I've been waiting for this day!" The (h/c) haired woman ran after the swordsman, jumping on his back. Zoro 'tsk'ed at her actions, but carried her anyways. "So, what are we going to be doing? Will you show me how do you send those shockwave attacks from your blades? I wonder how I can do that with my sickles. What do you thin—"
"We'll get to that later. First, we are going to work on strength training." Zoro set down the woman in front of the latter leading up to the main mast's deck. "Let's go." Once the two were on the deck, Zoro taught (Y/N) a few of his workouts. After a while of training, (Y/N) set her weights down to catch her breath. "Tired already?" Zoro smirked as he continued his squat jumps.
"No, I'm good." (Y/N) placed her hands on her hips, looking up to the sky as she deeply sighed. Sweat rolled down her neck and onto her chest until it seeped into her (f/c) crop top. Zoro placed down his weights making (Y/N) look over at him, but a towel landed on her face before she saw the swordsman. (Y/N) irritatedly took off the towel, wiping the sweat off her forehead. "What was that for?!"
Zoro didn't look at her, but (Y/N) saw light blush kissing his face. "You looked like you needed it." (Y/N) smiled, but blushed from the sight of her shirtless swordsman. 'He looks so attractive right now.' The woman buried her red hot face in her towel, sighing off her thoughts.
The two got back to strength training as Brook came up the ladder with a cup of tea in his hand. "Hey Brook. Whatcha up to?" (Y/N) held her weight bar over her shoulders, stopping to let Brook walk past her.
"On a delivery run!" The skeleton stared at (Y/N) for a few seconds before his nose stared to bleed. "Oh my, my. You look stunning. I do say, strong women with beautiful bodies are most definitely attractive!!"
"I- uhh..." (Y/N) blushed from his words as Zoro irritatedly spoke up. "Don't you have somewhere to be? I don't need you distracting my student."
Brook held up his free hand in defense. "Ah! Yes! My apologies. I should be on my way!!" The skeleton quickly walked past (Y/N), heading back to the Library.
"You didn't need to be so rude about it." (Y/N) sassed her mentor. Zoro glared over at her, making the (h/c) haired woman shiver. "Yeah, okay. I get it." (Y/N) quickly got back to her workout.
Zoro placed down his weights. "Earlier you said you want to know how I send this shockwaves from my blades?"
(Y/N) looked over at her mentor in curiosity while still doing her weighted squats. "Yeah. During your fight with Ryuma, Brook mentioned something about the samurai sending a 'thrust' from Shusui. Later I saw you doing something similar with your blades. Ever since then, I've been wanting to ask you."
Zoro nodded his head as (Y/N) set down her weight. "I'm surprised you haven't learned how to do it yourself. I thought you did when you sent a thrust towards Kuma."
(Y/N) nervously laughed. "That was... actually an accident." The woman shrugged as Zoro looked at her in slight shock. The two went down to the grass deck as Zoro explained how to create thrusts with her blades. "Ah.. I think I have an idea." (Y/N) smirked at Zoro making the swordsman's face scrunch up in confusion. The (h/c) haired woman flew away from the Sunny, incase her idea actually worked.
Holding her sickles in her hands, (Y/N) crossed her arms in front of her chest. 'If thrusts work with the air, maybe I could increase my attack with my devil fruit power.' (Y/N) closed her eyes and slowed her breathing. "Here it goes..." (f/c) lighting bolts sparked from her blades before the woman sliced the air before her. A gigantic gust of wind shot from the attack causing the calm ocean to split apart into two large waves. (Y/N) opened her eyes in shock before turning around to Zoro. "IT WORKED!! IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!" (Y/N) held up her sickles in the air, smiling brightly.
"WOAHH!!" Luffy, Usopp, Chopper and Franky ran up to the upper deck's railing to see the waves slashing back down.
"(Y/N)! Did you do that?!" Usopp yelled up at the woman in shock.
(Y/N)'s smile never left her face. "Yup! Sure did! Thank's to my mentor over there!" The (h/c) haired woman pointed at Zoro who was crossing his arms, grinning up at the woman.
"That was awesome!!" Chopper yelled up at her with stars in his eyes.
(Y/N) giggled and thanked the reindeer and she flew back down on the grass deck. "Zoro! Did you see that?! That was amazing!!"
"On your first day too. Quite impressive." Zoro cockily grinned at the woman. "I guess that shows you how much of a great teacher I am."
(Y/N) looked at him with a bored expression on her face. "Wow. Good job patting yourself on the back there, mentor." (Y/N) sighed a bit before continuing. "Do you mind if I rest for the day? I'm starting to feel exhausted."
"Not a problem. You did well today. Go get some rest, there's no point in overworking yourself. We will start with endurance training tomorrow." The swordsman walked back to his weights.
"Thank you, Zoro. I really appreciate you." The two shared a smile before (Y/N) headed back up to the main mast's deck. (Y/N) popped her head, looking for her bag when she saw her archeologist. "Oh. Hi Robin!"
Robin was crotched down tending to her garden, but halted to look over at (Y/N) climbing up the rest of the latter. "Good afternoon, (Y/N). I saw what you did earlier. That was quite impressive."
(Y/N) happily smiled, standing proud. "I know right?! I didn't even realize I could do something like that!" (Y/N) walked over to her bag, hanging it off her shoulder before walking up to Robin. "Your garden is beautiful."
"Thank you." The two shared a smile before Robin turned back to her garden. "You and Zoro seem to have gotten closer after Thriller Bark. Any reason as to why?"
(Y/N)'s smiled softened from the memories of Kuma's red paw. "I.. I'm not comfortable about talking about it... But on the contrary." Robin looked back up at (Y/N) in slight confusion. "I believe I've gotten closer to everyone. It's like every day I love each and every one of you more and more. It's unreal... I never thought I would find friends like you guys. I'll go as far as calling you guys my family."
"I can relate whole heartily." Robin smiled at (Y/N). "I'm happy to be apart of your family." Happy tears formed in (Y/N)'s eyes as Robin stood up, pulling (Y/N) into a hug.
The (h/c) haired woman softy cried on Robin's shoulder, hearing a light sniffle from her archeologist. (Y/N) pulled away from the hug, holding Robin's hands in her own. "Thank you." (Y/N) smiled at her friend before leaving back down the ladder, but halted when Robin called out to her. "Yes?" (Y/N) peaked her head up.
"You need to shower. You wreck." Robin bluntly stated making (Y/N) brightly blush from embarrassment.
"I- I'm going to go shower." (Y/N) quickly headed to the Girl's Quarters to grab a change of clothes before heading to the showers.
"(Y/N)?" Nami froze the woman in her tracks when she entered the library.
"Please don't smell me—" (Y/N) covered her mouth, blushing from even more embarrassment.
Nami's face scrunched up in confusion and disgust. "What?"
(Y/N) sighed. "Sorry. Quick explanation. Earlier I was training with Zoro and soon after, Robin let me know I should shower and now I'm here... going to the shower." (Y/N) slouched over in defeat and embarrassment.
Nami giggled before turning back to the survey desk. "Go ahead. We don't want to smell you all night long." (Y/N) whined from the comment before Nami continued. "Do you mind if I joined you later?"
(Y/N) stood upright in surprise for the question. "Not at all. I'll see you up there soon." The woman headed up to the showers. Slowly, she got undressed to take a regular shower before dipping into the heated bath. "This is nice.." (Y/N) sat down, closing her eyes in relaxation. The warm water surrounded her wounds, soothing the pains she was feeling prior. (Y/N) sighed in relief as she heard the door open making (Y/N) sit up. "Oh hey Nami—" (Y/N) stared blankly Usopp, Zoro, Chopper and Franky for a few seconds. "AHHHH GET THE HELL OUT WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING IN HERE?!!" The boys noses bled from the undressed woman coving herself with her hands. "WE'RE SORRY!!"
The boys quickly left as Nami and Robin walked in. "What was all that about?" Nami looked back at the boys before turning back to the beat red (Y/N). "You forgot to tell them, didn't you?" The woman nodded her head 'yes', not looking at the two. Robin and Nami giggled before closing the door and locking it. "THERE'S A LOCK?!" (Y/N) screamed out in utter shock.
The two girls joined (Y/N) in the bath. Robin was helping (Y/N) wash her back as Nami spoke up. "So (Y/N)." The woman looked up at her, giving Nami her full attention. "You grew up on the Grand Line?"
"Oh. I wasn't expecting that. Well yes, I've visited the Calm Belt once. Other than that, I've lived on this half of the Grand Line my whole life. Although, I never stayed at the island for any longer than a few months. Except for my home island, of course. I heard you're from one of the Four Seas?" (Y/N) curiously asked her navigator.
"Mhm. The East Blue. I grew up in Cocoyasi Village, its on Conomi Island."
"I've always wondered about the Four Blues. What was it like growing up there?" (Y/N) smiled at Nami, but her smile slowly faded when she saw a sad expression appear on Nami's face. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
"No. It's okay. I knew I wanted to tell you one day and this seems like the right time." Nami told (Y/N) her story, about her mother's death from the Arlong Pirates and what she went through up until Luffy rescued her and her people. 'She was kidnapped just like me.'
(Y/N) placed her hand on Nami's knee. "I appreciate you telling me. You've been through so much... Forgive me, but I must ask. Are you going to be okay with going to Fish-Man Island?"
"It's a tricky situation... I have no negative feelings towards fishmen or mere-folk, except Arlong. Thankfully, I have you guys now. So I don't have to worry about him anymore, but the damage he's done still remains." Nami pulled her knees to her chest, hugging her legs. "Sometimes it's all I can thing about."
Silence ran among the three before Robin spoke up. "All we can do know is move forward. The past only effects us when we let it. I'm not saying it's easy to move on, we all know that's far from the truth, but I'm saying we are strong enough to rise again. Especially now that we have each other, we're unstoppable."
"Yeah!" (Y/N) and Nami cheered as they all smiled at one another.
Knocking on the door was heard making Nami questioned whoever it was. "Uhhhh. It's me, Luffy! Whatever, that doesn't matter. Come on, you guys! It's food time!" The girls giggled before stepping out of the bath and getting dressed. (Y/N) put on a white t-shirt and a pair of dark blue denim shorts.
The crew enjoyed a seafood dinner, of course having fun the whole way though. (Y/N) looked up from her plate when she saw Brook get up and walk outside. The woman waited a few moments before deciding to follow after him. (Y/N) walked up to Brook, sitting on the foremast's bench. "Ah, (Y/N). I'm afraid you're the last person I have left to ask."
(Y/N) rested her head on the back of the foremast before finishing Brook's words. "If you could assist me in any way?"
Brook looked at her in shock. "How did you know?"
"The girls told me about the trouble you've been causing around the Sunny." (Y/N) giggled as Brook sighed in defeat. "I could tell from our meal this morning, you felt as if you owed this crew something. I can only assume you attempted the help our crew mates in hopes to find validation for yourself. As if our views on you would change. But you fail to realize one thing." (Y/N) smiled up at the skeleton. "You're not only our crew mate, but our friend as well." Brook stared at (Y/N) in shock yet again before placing his skull in his hands. (Y/N)'s smile dropped when Brook began to silently cry. "I'm sorry! Did I say something wrong? Shit. Why do I always do this. I um.. Hey Brook don't worr—"
(Y/N) was cut off by Brook pulling her into a hug. "Thank you. Thank you so much. I'm overjoyed by your words. My heart feels like leaping out of my chest, that is.. if I had a heart to begin with! Yohohoho!" Brook spoke with tears of joy in his eyes. (Y/N) smiled as she hugged him back.
Brook finally pulled away from (Y/N), wiping his tears away. The woman brightly smiled up at her boney friend before standing up. "I have a photo album to fill, so I'll take to you later." (Y/N) waved off Brook as she walked across the grass deck to the Aquarium Bar. "Oh hey girls. What are you two up to?" (Y/N) walked up to Nami and Robin.
"Come join us, (Y/N)." Robin patted on the seat next to her. Nami added in. "We are looking through a fashion magazine. There are some super cute outfits in here!" The girls laughed and talked about cute outfits they would all try on. Nami was the most invested in the clothings, making (Y/N) and Robin giggle at her enthusiasm.
After a rather peaceful evening, (Y/N) found herself sitting on the swing once more. This time, writing small notes on the back of her photos before placing them in her photo album. (Y/N) looked up as Brook began to play Bink's Brew on his violin. The woman happily smiled at her musician, allowing the song to fill her heart. 'Sometimes... I miss you, mother.' A gust of wind caused (Y/N)'s (h/c) (h/c) hair to blow in front of her. Soon enough, the Sunny was moving towards their next adventure.
"Look at that. Finally got some wind." Franky spoke up, taking (Y/N)'s attention. The woman put her photo album in her bag before hopping off the swing to walk up to Brook with her girlfriends that exited the Aquarium Bar.
The rest of the Straw Hats gathered around as their captain spoke. "Listen up! It's time to get moving."
"Yeah!" The crew cheered for their captain's orders.
