It's been years since the boys last looked into the "Mirror of Erised". Expecting to see the same image as before, they are surprised to find it's changed...

✦ draco looks into the mirror, expecting to see his parents, just like the last time
✦ to his surprise, he sees you standing next to him
✦ he furrows his brows & quickly looks over his shoulder
✦ "y/n?" he murmurs confused
✦ until he realizes he's completely alone in the room
✦ staring back into the mirror, he tries to comprehend what he's seeing
✦ you have your hand on his shoulder & look at him lovingly
✦ 'are we a couple?', he thinks shocked
✦ his heart wrenches as he watches fellow students & his parents give the two of you proud looks
✦ being respected while having you by his side, that seemed to be his new image...
✦ he turns around, grimacing
✦ it's safe to say he won't tell you what he saw in the mirror
✦ "stupid thing, she's just a friend" he murmurs as he's walking away
✦ but how wrong he was...

✦ the last time he did, he saw his father being kind towards him, as if he'd grown up in a healthy family

✦ he freezes when he sees the great hall, students are all around

✦ mattheo clenches his jaw until suddenly, you appear
✦ mattheo's eyes grow wide as you walk up to him and proudly take his hand, pressing a kiss onto his cheek - in front of all the others
✦ he swallows & his heartbeat speeds up while looking at you
✦ he can't take his eyes off the mirror
✦ deep inside, he realizes it's what he's wanted all along:
✦ to have somebody love and accept him, despite being the son of the dark lord
✦ someone standing by him, no matter what the others say. true love.
✦ and he had a feeling one day, he might find it in you

✦ painful images of his mother arise
✦ the last time he looked inside, he saw his mother being alive again. it was both beautiful & tragic at the same time
✦ his eyes flutter open, and there she was again

✦ "hi mom", theo whispers quietly as she smiles at him
✦ but something's changed...
✦ theo stares as you suddenly walk up & take his mothers hand
✦ the two women seem to laugh and know each other very well
✦ theo's eyes grow wide as his mother hugs you tight
✦ his heart feels like it's about to crack open
✦ he watches the image, breathing heavily
✦ "y/n?" he murmurs and mirror-you looks at him lovingly
✦ he realizes what happened... the girl he just met seemed to have captured his heart way quicker than he ever thought
✦ he wanted nothing more than his mom to be able to meet you
✦ theo swallows harshly as he realizes the image will never become reality...

✦ but he quickly realizes that something has changed...

✦ he can't help but smile at the image
✦ mirror-him is giving you a piggyback ride through the common room, the two of you with beaming faces
✦ suddenly, the image changes once more
✦ enzo sees himself introducing you to his parents
✦ he can't believe his eyes when he sees his cold mother accepting you into the family
✦ he clenches his jaw. this wasn't what he expected
✦ he can't get the images out of his head, especially ur smile...

✦ pansy rolls her eyes when she sees the mirror
✦ "oh salazar, not this again"
✦ after a while, her curiosity wins & she takes a peak inside
✦ just like last time, her parents come up to her, proudly accepting her for who she really is
✦ pansy looks at the image sad
✦ 'as if that were ever true', she thinks quietly
✦ suddenly, something changes & pansy looks around confused
✦ out of thin air, you appear right next to her
✦ her eyes go big as her parents hug the two of you, despite seeing you're a couple
✦ her heart stings while watching the scene play out, knowing her parents would never behave like this in real life
✦ she doesn't think too much of you being there, and labels you as somewhat of a "placeholder" for her dream of being with a girl
✦ she thinks it's 'no wonder' she's envisioning the cutest girl she's ever met next to her
✦ but she couldn't be farther from the truth...
Tom Riddle
✦ fury rises in tom as he finds the mirror
✦ he clenches his jaw, remembering the image he saw last time
✦ a real family, as if i ever wanted that, he scoffs internally
✦ thinking the mirror must be faulty, he's still somewhat intrigued to test it again - just to prove his theory
✦ he's convinced he'll see another image just as 'ridiculous' as the first
✦ after staring inside, he sees a slightly older version of himself
✦ he's walking around town & realizes with satisfaction that the people around not only respect him, they *fear* him
✦ tom squints, thinking this is all there is, when the image suddenly shifts
✦ he sees himself walking into a house, with a woman sitting on the couch
✦ his eyebrows furrow when he recognizes you
✦ it takes a lot for tom to be surprised, but as he watches the scene play out, his face DROPS
✦ mirror-you stands up and embraces him tight, softly kissing him on the mouth
✦ to his disgust, he's kissing you back...
✦ the two of you look incredibly close and he can't take his eyes off the image shown to him
✦ they way you look at his face... there was no fear
✦ tom closes his eyes & takes a deep breath
✦ 'i want respect, not love', he tells himself
✦ he brings himself to get out of the room, quickly loosening his tie on the way out
✦ when he walks back into the common room and real-you waves at him, he storms into his dorms
✦ gripping the end of his bed, he realizes there's a feeling in his chest he's never felt before...
