Katniss an i have been close since the incident and mrs.everdeen took me in. Prim and katniss are like my sisters I'd do anything to protect them.
On the morning of the reaping me,katniss and Gale went into the woods to get some food I really don't like Gale I've always had a bad feeling about him. I don't trust him, besides the point katniss went to get her bow personally I rather knives so I usually skinned the food I hear katniss shoot, "good shot as always katnip" "well obviously Gale she has the best shot in district 12 that hasn't been in the games" I say "all right then" they go off and talk katniss looks annoyed as she misses her shot I sit in silence as I skin the rabbit.
Once we leave the woods me and katniss head to the market and when we enter we spot some very pretty jewellery "hi girls" it's madge she's our classmate "hey madge your jewellery is really nice" "thanks it's my late aunts, here have this pin" "madge I can't take this- before I can finish she shoves it in my hand
Katniss comes back over "come on we've got head home now" "ok madge?" Madge was no where to be seen I brush it off

We are in the reaping line to get our blood taken I gave prim the mockingjay pin it suits her we get in line I hug katniss before it starts then effie walks out
"Hello district 12! Who is excited?!" She gets no reply
"alright then we shall start the female tribute is PRIMROSE EVERDEEN come on up sweetie!"
Me and katniss run out of the crowd we scream "PRIM NO PRIM"
I knew what she was going to do I did it first
"I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE"
Gasps fill the void
"Ah a volunteer come on up!" I head up
"What is your name?"
"Y/n everdeen" I had taken the last name everdeen
"Ahhh are you the sister of little primrose?" She inquires
"Yes"
"Anyway let's continue the male tribute is PEETA MELLARK!"
He walks up i recognise him he's the bakers son I flash him a smile he returns it
"Now we will let tributes say goodbye!"
I head in katniss prim and mrs.everdeen come visit that don't have much time all they do is give me a hug and prim gives me the pin as they are forced out.
