Raiden had defeated Cage and offered him a hand to help him up which Cage took
" Your welcome" Johnny said
Liu Kang simply looked to the side directly Kenshi
" Kenshi Takashi you are next" he said with a small gesture of his hand
Kesnhi walked past Johnny on his way the two locking eyes clearly still not the best of buds
Kenshi switched his attention to Raiden " You have skills, Raiden, but your inexperienced"
" Whatever experience I lack, I make up for in heart" Raiden says unfazed by the comment
" It's nerve, not heart that wins fights" Kenshi says as he tightens the grip on his katana
The two began their battle as Liu Kang decided to speak " So.. Reaper what is your tail" he asked
Y/N shrugged " I'm sure you've heard the story's"
Liu Kang nodded as he watched the match " I have most of them describe you as a monster, murderer or just plain evil but I don't believe in rumors I want to hear from you"
Y/N raised his eyebrow a bit but sighed " I was raised in a country that was constantly at war, from a young age I was already a prodigy by the age of eight I was already beaten adults in fights"
" That's quite a feat" Liu Kang comments
" By age fourteen the army had conscripted young boys for the war it was only about a year till I became a commander" he continues
" Quite the skill for some one so young" Liu Kang says to which Y/N nods
" Put simply under my command my platoon destroyed all those in our path the army's of the other nations never stood a chance" Y/N says
" I sense that all changed" Liu Kang says
Y/N nods " We were stationed outside an enemy fort were their king was hiding I was informed to hold my forces and not engage as our diplomats were in discussion"
The fight soon ends as Raiden knocks Kenshi off his feet
" Do you still question my nerve" Raiden asks
Kenshi slowly stands up " I do not yours was a well earned victory"
" You may rest Raiden, this evening y I will face your final opponent" Liu Kang says standing up
Liu Kang then looks at Y/N while the rest leave " I'm presuming you didn't wait"
" No I didn't I told my men to storm the fort and kill the enemy" Y/N says grimly
Liu Kang nods " Something your superiors were not happy about"
Y/N scowls at the memory as he looks to the ground " No, appreanlty they were close to some continent sized peace agreement that I ruined and well they fooled me"
" What do you mean" Liu Kang asks as the two walk to a bench and take a seat as they stare at the cherry blossom trees
" Never one was I bested in combat not in life or even now, when I returned home I received a Heroes welcome I was treated as a hero little did I know at the feats they held in my honor they would poison me" he says tapping his feet it angered him that they didn't have the guts to fight him head on but instead used tactics of a coward
" I'm guessing you found this dishonorable" Liu Kang says
" Yeah basterds couldn't even raise a sword to me, after the poison did it's job I saw the light everyone speaks of but it wasn't the only thing there.. He was too" Y/N says
" Who's he" Liu Kang questions
" Death he tried to take me to the afterlife I learnt there that he wasn't nearly as much of an impressive fighter as I hoped for" Y/N sighs in disappointment
" So you beat death itself" Liu Kang asks
" More like it's avater I learnt that if you kill death's avatar in combat you take its place but as you can see no one as the ability to beat me" He chuckles
Liu Kang nods " So what happened after you beat death"
" Well I woke up besides a river basterds didn't even bother burying me I was an orphan growing up so I didn't have any land they could take or fancy garbs but they did take something dear to me.. They took the one person I called friend" he scowled wanting to stab them all over again
Liu Kang looked at him sympathetically
" They killed her simply for associating with me, basterds she was the only one in that whole nation with guts to challenge me" he says remembering her challenging him even though she'd loose she'd still try the memory made him smile at her persistence
" In the end I hunted them all down till they were all dead" He says
Liu Kang nods " I thank you for sharing your tail"
The two sat in a comfortable silents as the watched the leaves of the cherry blossom tree fall

That night Y/N had found Johnny Cage's booze that he hid in his room with a trumphiant smile he began to drink away
Later on he stumbled out singing to himself as he saw Raiden defeat Kang Lao everyone congratulated him
Y/N threw his arm around Raiden's shoulders as her slurred " Well done *hiccup* you deserve it, but I'd do better" he laughs to himself as Cage gently pulls him away
The drunken reaper protested voicing his sadness that he wasn't going to be fighting
" Liu Kang you need to think of my mental health I *hiccup* need to fight" he slurred drunkenly
Surprisingly everyone found the drunken reapers rambling slightly entertaining
Raiden was even given an amulet by Liu Kang to use so he could combat outworld
To which Y/N moaned saying he wanted his own amulet

A week had passed and it was finally time for the fighters to head to outworld
Liu Kang began to create the fiery portal as the others watched with mixed feelings
" Outworld can be both alien and intoxicating to earthrealmers, do not become drawn in" Liu Kang warns them most of them were quite serious about the situation
Expect the usual suspects Cage was recording the whole thing with his phone whole Y/N had just woken up from his nap he was lazily wiping his unkempt hair out of his face as he watched Liu Kang
The reaper looked to the side and saw one of the holder monks had tea he snatched it out of the monks hands and drank it and returned the cup
" Your very thoughtful" he says as the monk scowls at him
Liu Kang the first to enter whole the rest followed
They walked through the portal and to describe it in one word it was breathtaking
