I've been staring at the spreadsheets for hours in my office but the numbers doesn't seem to be comprehended by my brain
My mind is stuck somewhere in the past when our family was COMPLETE and full of life
2 months later my Star would've turned 16.
How all of her family would've showered her with affection and love
She would've grown into a beautiful and smart girl
But all we are left with are the what if's .
Because we couldn't protect our princess and let her be taken away by our biological mother
I had never resented my birth giver until when she decided to take away our little sister out of jealousy
Our parents had an arranged marriage for the alliance of mafia but our birth giver aka Violet never had a single maternal or caring bone in her body
She only ever cared about her luxurious lifestyle and socialite status
The only reason she decided to give birth was probably to strengthen the alliance or else i don't think our father would've stayed with her .
Despite countless efforts from Dad, Violet never tried to make the marriage work and in the end they got divorced
Leaving me and my brothers custody with our father.
We were raised by our Nanny Anna.
She loved us brothers as her own and never made us realize the absence of our own biological mother .
But along the line our father also fell in love with her
With her kindness and care nobody ever stood a chance to stay away .
I still vividly remember the day they both got married , I was ten and twins were only a year old but the happiness that was around us was magnificent.
To others it might have felt that the kids would've had difficulty in adjusting to a new step mother but nobody in this world can guess our happiness when we could finally her Mom .
Our life had never been better.
Two years late our little baby star Our Estella Nova was born. She was everything we never we needed ❤
She had Dad's twinkling Brown eyes and Mom's beautiful auburn hair
She was so tiny and captured all of our hearts from the moment she was born.
Everything was going good until my birthgiver thought we didn't deserved to be happy.
We could've never predicted that the second birthday of our sister will be the black day of our family
Everyone was asleep after the grand birthday party when some assassins attacked our home
The twins and estella were with that dad and mom for their sleepover and became an easy target
They injected dad with some drug and abducted our sister
Mom tried her best to protect the little ones but was only able to get the twins from the assassin .
When everybody in the mansion woke up due to the loud voice it was already too late.
When I reached their room it was nothing less than a nightmare watching dad laying injured and unconscious but the worst part was watching Mom laying in the pool of her own blood and twins crying and screaming around her.
I remember running to her and begging her to stay with us
" Leo my love I'm sorry I... couldn't protect este...lla . I tried I really did but they we..re too strong... for me ..... please save and..d.d. take care of your father and your sib...blings ..... I love you all..."Mom spoke in a barely audible voice laced with sooo much pain and grief .
I couldn't stop my tears and whimpering when she closed her eyes
When we reached hospital The doctors couldn't save Mom as her injuries were fatal and she had lost too much blood already
We tried searching for estella everywhere but couldn't find her anywhere.
We found the real culprit behind the assassination was none other our birthgiver
After torturing her for days to find the whereabouts of estella she finally confessed about killing our baby sister
That confession was the last straw for our father and he went on a full killing spree after killing her.
Not only did he lost his love of life but also his daughter.
Our father became a heartless mafia Don after their death.
He devoted all his time in becoming the most feared man and basically forgot his children
If not for Cyrus's accident which basically nearly killed him Dad would have never returned to a state of sanity
After the accident Dad finally realized that in the fury of his revenge he was not only neglecting us but also causing a lot of parental issues for his kids .
I took over the mafia and business when I turned 23.
It was not an easy transition but dad needed the break from his demanding job and spend some time on himself and with his family.
Dad is always present to guide me whenever me or any of our brother need his help.
He's not only the best father to us but also our best friend.
He is an expert in hiding his pain now.
He talks about Estella as if it doesn't hurt him and that he don't lock himself in the library for days
We all have have our own ways to deal with grief
All of us were broken after that dreadful night and I don't think we'll ever recover from the loss of mom and estella ever

I realized I started crying when I felt a single lone tear rolling down my cheek.
I quickly wiped it off not only because I am supposed to be the emotionless mafia head bit also because I have to be strong for my family.
I look away from my computer when Cyrus walks in my office without knocking.
I raise one of my brow in questioning because he knows better not disturb me when I am working
" I have to go to Miami regarding the resort deal with the Johnsons " he speaks while settling himself on the sofa.
" wasn't the deal suppose to happen next month? " I question thinking about the deal that'll probably double our empire's worth.
" yeah but their representative called earlier today informing that they want the deal to be done as early as possible "
" Okay, and keep me updated "
" Sure, Boss " He says while saluting me and leaving the room
My phone rings and I frown seeing a private number. I don't usually get calls on my private number . " Hello" I speak in my business tone.
" Hello am I speaking to Robert Maroni ?"
" No, I am his eldest son Leonardo "
" Hello Mr. Leonardo I am Mark from Child protection service from Ohio. I have called you regarding the custody of your half sister Estella John . As he--.."""
" WAIT. repeat that... did you just say my sister Estella ?"
" Yes sir we have Estella under our care currently as her foster parents died recently and according to protocol we did a DNA test and it came out to be a match. So if you want to take her custody or w-"
" WE'LL TAKE HER CUSTODY " I speak hurriedly practically shouting. With my heart thumping at abnormal speed
My estella is alive..... Our star is alive
" Okay sir we'll send you the needed documents and you can come to Ohio for further proceeding "
" I'll today only .... you can start with the custody process "
I hang up after confirming the details.
I quickly ask my assistant to get our private plane ready.
I decided not to tell anybody right now because I need to confirm that it's not another fraud call.
And if she really is our estella....
I will protect her with my life this time .

My writing skills are basic at best currently because this is my first time I am writing with proper POVs and everything .
This story deals with some very sensitive topic and I know I can't really portray such deep emotions we'll enough but I'll try my best.
