YEARS LATER
I smile looking at the test infront of me.
Positive.
It's all we want.
"Baby, do you think tha-why are you crying?" My husband, Henry, comes into the bathroom.
I look at him and he looks confused why i'm smiling and crying.
"What's wrong?" He wipes the tears on my face.
I shake my head, "Nothing, nothing is wrong."
He nods, "Okay."
"Baby," I rise onto my tiptoes and give him a kiss, "We're pregnant."
He freezes for a moment, unsure what to think or do.
I wrap my arms around his neck, "We're gonna have a baby."
He smiles so bright and wide, i've never seen him smile like this.
Tears roll down his cheeks and he begins to kiss me all over.
"We're gonna have a baby," I sniffles into my shoulder.
I let out a small squeal.
"Nels?"
"Yeah?" I run a hand down his back.
"What if i make our baby have mental problems?"
"We will work with them to make them happy and to heal, just like you did."
He nods and looks at me with a big sweet innocent smile.
"I love you so much." He kisses me.
"I, love, you." I whisper between kisses.
My heart is full. I'm so happy.
I've got the dream boy, dream house, dream life, dream friends.
Some would call it luck, but i'd call it hard work to being where we are now.
I'll never forget the shy boy that asked me for a highlighter. I'll never forget the boy who is my husband, the father of my future child.
I'll never forget how far he's come, we've come.
