It was a week after the funeral and I hate to say it but I had to get back on the grind.
"I'm bout to drop Yasmine to school and update her emergency contacts and shit" I told Lani as I grabbed my keys off the dresser
After a long week of laying around and sulking, it was time for Yas to go back to school.
The school only gave her a couple days off considering what she was going through & I gave her a couple more days but she couldn't miss anymore.
"Okay I have to go home and get ready for work" she said
"You going back today ?"
"Yup" she said
I nodded "you gonna come back later ?"
She chuckle "you not tired of me ?"
"No" I replied
"I'll be back later. What you want for dinner ?"
"It don't matter to me" I shrugged
She nodded "you okay ?" She asked which caused me to sigh
I was tired of hearing that question.
"Yea" I said looking away
She walked over to me and turned my face towards her.
"It's okay not to be" she said before pecking my lips
I nodded "I gotta go. Make sure you lock up when you leave, have a good day at work" I said before kissing her lips
"Let's go Yas" I said walking out my room
I picked up her book bag "Put the IPad back, you know you can't take that to school" I said causing her to roll her eyes
I sighed and shook my head. Not only has she not been talking but she's also but having a stank ass attitude.
"Let's go" I said opening the door to let her walk out first
It was bout a 30 minute drive from my house to her school, so we were leaving a little earlier than expected.
I got Yas into the car and made sure she buckled up before getting into the drivers seat.
I placed her book bag into the passenger seat before starting the car and pulled off.
I looked through the rear view mirror seeing yas falling asleep which caused me to shake my head.
I turned the music up a little a continued in the direction of her school.

I parked in the parking lot at Yasmine school & grabbed her book bag before turning the car off & getting out.
I opened the back door " Come on Yas" I said
She sighed before unbuckling her seatbelt & got out the car.
I helped her put her book bag on and closed the car door before grabbing her hand.
We walked towards the entrance of the school where some of the kids were getting dropped off at.
I opened the door & we made our way towards the main office.
"Good morning. How may I help you" they lady asked smiling
"My name is Geo Smith, I called earlier about updating my little sister emergency contact. They said I had to come in" I said and she nodded
"Ohh Mr. Smith, I can help you with that." She said as Yasmine sat in the chair swinging her feet
"I'm sorry for you guys loss by the way" she added which caused me to slightly smile
"Thank you"
"Okay what are we changing ?" She said
"I'm her legal guardian now, so you can change that and I want to add a couple people to her emergency contact & pick up list" I said pulling out the papers that showed me as her legal guardian & my ID
"Okay, & what are the names of the people you want to add to the list ?" The Lady asked after typing on the computer for a while
"Jerome King. That's her older cousin & his number is (***)***-****" I said as she typed
"Okay"
"And the other person is my girlfriend Kay'Lani Taylor, her number is (***)***-****"
She nodded "okay, anyone else ?" She asked me
"No. That's it"
"Okay you're all set Mr. Smith" she smiled
"Thank you" I said grabbing everything
I turned to Yasmine "come on so I can walk you to your class" I said
She got off the chair and grabbed my hand as we headed to her class.
Once we got there the teacher greeted us "hello Yasmine, it's good to see you again" she smiled which caused Yasmine to smile and give her a hug
"Alright I'll see you later okay pretty ?" I said
Yasmine nodded before hugging me "King is gonna pick you up today after school" I said before pecking her forehead
"Have a good day"I said as she walked into the classroom
"I was informed about what happened. Im sorry for you guys loss" The teacher said
" Thank you. She might be extra quiet today" I told her causing her to nod
"Okay I understand, I'll keep an eye on her"
I nodded before walking away and towards the exit.
I had a couple appointments today so I had to go down to the shop for a little.

"Heyyy Geo welcome back" the receptionist said smiling

I nodded "thanks"
I walked straight to the back and pulled my key out before unlocking the door.
I walked in and closed the door behind me. I connected my phone to the speakers and played music before walking over to the sink to wash my hands then began setting up for my client.
I disinfected everything I was gonna used and pulled some gloves out, setting them on the tray with the rest of the needles.
"Wassup ma" I said answering the phone for Lani
"I feel like everyone looking at me" she said
I chuckled " what you talking bout ?"
"I feel like everyone knows I was suspended for fighting & now they all just looking and whispering" she sighed
"You in your head Lani" I said sitting down
"I just wanna go back home, they have me doing paperwork"
"Shoot that's better than nothing"
She smacked her lips "I guess...what you doing ?"
"Preparing for my first client" I said
" what time you gonna be back home " she asked
"My last client at 6. Then I gotta pick Yas up from king house"
"I can pick her up, when I get off" she offered
"You sure ?" I asked
"Yea."
I smiled "thanks ma. I appreciate it"
She chuckled "it's no problem"
Seeing the light flashing green on the wall beside my door indicating that my client had arrived, I quickly pressed the button which told the receptionist to send them in.
"Alright. My client here...send me pictures of your fine ass, so I can see you" I said causing her to laugh
"Boyy bye. I'll talk to you later" she said before hanging up
I heard a knock on my door "You could come" I said
The door opened which caused me to look up.
"Tf you doing here ?" I asked Jayda as she walked in
"I came to get a tattoo done" she smiled
I shook my head "you could've booked with Dante" I said referring to the other tattoo artist
"I could've but, he wasn't available and you were" she shrugged
"So are you gotta do my tattoo or what ?" She asked
I shook my head "sit down" I said
"You know what you wanted ?" I asked
"Yea I wanted a quote on my side" she said showing me a picture of what she wanted
"You want the butterflies too ?" I asked while washing my hands
"Yea"
I nodded and grabbed my iPad before drawing out what she wanted.
"Like this ?" I asked
When she nodded I got everything I needed together before beginning.

"Imma need you to stop moving" I said
"Sorry, this part hurt like a motherfucker" she said
"So how long have you been doing tattoos?" She asked
I sighed "2 years"
"Every thought about opening your own shop ?"
"Mmhm"
"Are you still messing with Lani or you over that ?"
I looked up at her "that's my girl" I said causing her to roll her eyes
"Why can't I be your girl ?" She asked
I chuckled "Jayda stop playing with me" I said stopping what u was doing
"What ?"
I shook my head "you better chill out, ion even play like that" I said
She sighed "come on Geo. Can she even treat you right ?"
I raised my eyebrow "she is treating me right. Stop talking to me Jayda" I said
"Just let me do this tattoo so you can be on your way" I said turning the music up more
A hour later and I was finally done with her tattoo.
"Thank youuu" she said handing me my money
I nodded "mmhm" I said cleaning up for my next client
"I'll see you around Geo" she said touching my arm
I moved away "you won't" I said
She rolled her eyes and walked away.
"Hoe ass girl" I said

I walked into my house being hit with the smell of food as soon as I entered.
I smiled seeing Yas sitting in the living room watching Tv.
I kissed her forehead "how was school ?" I asked her
She shrugged "it was ok" she said softly
I smiled "yea ?" I asked which caused her to nod
I walked into the kitchen "I got three words out of her" I smiled
Lani looked back at me "yeah I know. When I picked her up from king she said something to me also" she said smiling
I sighed "that's good, we're getting somewhere. I was starting to get worried"
"Don't bae, she's moving at her own pace" Lani said walking over to me
She wrapped her arms around my neck as I wrapped mines around her waist.
I pecked her lips "I love you" I said
She smiled "what ?" She chuckled
"I said I love you & I appreciate you for being here with me" I said
"I love you to, and you know imma always be here" she said before pulling me into a kiss
I sucked on her lower lip before pulling away.
"You gone make me fuck you fight here" I said causing her to laugh
"Geooo" she said walking away
"What you making ?"
"Chicken Alfredo" she replied
I nodded "ouuu I'm ready to eat" I said
"How was your day ?"
"It was cool. Your hoe ass ex best friend came in today for a tattoo."
"Jayda ?" She asked looking back at me
I nodded "mmhm, her ass was flirting with me too"
She shook her head "she must want her ass beat" She scoffed
"Don't worry bout her bae" I said wrapping my arms around her from behind
"Oh I ain't. But I know how she could get"
"I'm bout to go take a shower" I said before smacking her butt and walked out the kitchen
