Written when I was 13 years old, The Gangleader Kidnapped Me was a silly and sloppy book that represented its time with its outdated vibe references and obsession with cows.
Now, 10 years later, I've decided to do a rewritten and remastered version of the story that had the biggest impact on kickstarting my writing hobby!
There were many reasons I decided to do this:
1.) I wrote the book when I was 13 and now I'm 22 almost 23. That means it wasn't very well developed and there are MANY plot holes that even annoy me as I read back over the original draft. I remember even planning explanations for the plot holes but don't understand why 13 year old me never added them!!
2.) I missed this story :(
While it was very cringey and of its time, which was I believe 2014/2015, it still is a very monumental part of my life and it's what made me love writing and creating stories to this day.
3.) I want to challenge myself. This is actually one of the very few books I've actually completed (finishing a story is much harder than you think guys!), so I want to test myself to see if I can properly rewrite this into something that even adult me would enjoy!
That being said, I want to explore the more hmm how do you say...adult version of this story, wink wonk. I also wanna really dig deeper into the whole grumpy x sunshine thing and make it a little bit more mature while still retaining the humor and charm that really made this book!
This may take a while, but I'm up for the challenge and also I miss Ethan AKA my sexy ninja ;)
