I walked into the small council chamber with my head held high and saw the men of the council sitting there with Jeahaerys, Bealon and my envoys present.
"Gentlemen"
"Empress"
My envoy bowed and the other Lords murmured 'your grace' at me. I could see Lord Corlys was eager to talk to me, I walked towards Jeahaerys and sat opposite Bealon before everyone else sat down.
"So Gentlemen, were have we gotten?"
I was given the documents and started reading through them at a fast speed, checked the details and marked several that needed to be changed then I saw something that made me smirk then another that made me frown.
"Now Gentlemen, I have marked several areas that need adjusting but two of these made me pause.
I understand the strange male desire to seal things in marriage."
I said this with a smirk on my face and saw some of them good red.
"The question is.....who are you wanting to marry me?"
I said again with a teasing smirk causing some to go more red when I look at Bealon who was smiling at me.
"That would be me, Empress Visera."
I smile at Bealon because I love older men and he was completely my type.
"That is acceptable but this next clause is ridiculous......my first born.....Son.....Will be heir that will be changed....I will make who ever is fit for the role to be heir."
"But..."
"Sometimes the first born or even second born are not the right choice to rule. Weak personality, easily led etc. I refuse to hand my empire over to an idiot. "
The men looked at me in shock and some nodded their heads at that because no one wanted a weak ruler and Bealon was one of those nodding.
"The fact that you think only men can rule.....is concerning for the future of the poor woman in Westeros.
This will be changed before I sign anything and also I would like to add a stipulation that no Measter is welcome on any council. They are hear to heal not to interfere in politics."
I looked at the Grand Measter as I said this and then made a shewing motion which in his shock he followed before looking at the rest.
"Are we in agreement?"
"Okay what about the succession of Iron Throne?"
"What do you mean Empress?"
"Are you having open succession as well? Please tell me you are honestly not going by this first born non-sense?"
They all looked confused and bashful but Lord Corlys spoke.
"It is tradition, Empress"
"So.....you would leave a seat of power.........for a first born.........that could be manipulated......like Viserys?"
Bealon looked at me then in confusion and I looked at him in shock.
"Your heir.............has been following Otto Hightower around like a dog.
He has disregarded his brother Daemon as a Meagor reborn when the poor man is no such thing, a little wild but who isn't at his age.
This second son whispers in his ear and it becomes fact,Visery is so focused on forcing his wife to have a son when he has an heir in his daughter.
That is a strain on a womans health, he has shown little care for the woman he claims to love.
If he can not care for her or his daughter then how is he really going to care for the kingdom."
That seemed to make everyone pause and think because they noticed the change in Viserys when Otto came to kingslanding and realised that she was right, Otto would rule Westeros through Viserys.
"You grace, I think she is right. Maybe once Prince Bealon is King and he has had more childern he could change the rules then chose an Heir he deemed worthy."
Everyone nodded as they wanted a strong ruler but hoped it would be male.
"I will also offer this, as Bealon will be my husband that does not make him Emperor.he will have to earn the title to my people but I will give him Imperial consort and after a year I will make him my Emperor. Also when your daughter is old enough Lord Corlys i will be happy to take her as one of my ladies."
Lord Corlys was thrilled with this development that his daughter was being put a high position and if she stayed close she could possibly marry into the family.
"I will interview ladies from all Paramount houses to join my court, make sure you are aware that I do not care if they are Baseborn daughter or trueborn they must a talent it can be sowing, singling or fighting but I will be testing them before I consider."
They just all nodded and I tsked at these men, honestly shocked by a powerful woman but were thrilled that some of hem might be able to get their families within my court, I knew the Measters would be telling some of their Lords and the Hightowers and could not wait to ruin them.
I could see Bealon and Jeahaerys not wanting to been seen laughing working on the documents before giving them back to me as I checked them, signed them and sealed them before leaving the room with my skirts swishing behind me.
Bealon caught up with me later that day with a smile.
"Hello, My love."
"Pet names already dear."
I said with a teasing smile, which he returned before seeing one of my current ladies and a guard following me, I waved them away for a moment and they vanished for it before Bealon took me to a small alcove and started to kiss me.
He then moved to my neck and used his arms to cage me in before moving one of hands to cup my breast drawing a low moan from me and a growl from him.
"You drive me crazy."
"Good"
I said wih a smirk before he slammed his lips against mine in a painful kiss before he pulls away and looks at my ravished look.
We fix each other up before walking out and I am joined by my people again with a smile, I won't be embarrassed about something that is completely natural.
"I have some news."
Bealon looked at his future wife and was curious.
"It seems Otto has taken a Measter that is adapt at poisons and will be aiming to kill you during the tournement, I will be making sure that the poison will be going on Ottos brothers clothes not yours."
"Why his brothers."
"Because his brother only has two sons currently and both sickly, he will most likely be called home to run Hightower till they are of age and it will give us more time to do something about them and their Measters."
"Fair enough."
We walked for an hour till we saw Viserys arguing with Aemma about his time with Otto and then just pushed past her, Bealon dashed forward to grab her but my guard Jon caught her instead and I looked her over.
"Aemma, are you alright?"
"As well as I can be."
She looked at us wih a sad smile but seemed to blush a bit at Jon, he looked at her with a soft look and knew he was smitten with Aemma.
"I heard the news of your engagement to Bealon, congratulations to you both."
"Thank you Aemma, I was hoping you and Rhaenys would be willing to help me with some details."
"Of course."
She said with a beaming smile and I could see Jon look at her stunned and all I could do was sigh but if they did have an affair they child will still be Valyrian as he has silver hair with deep purple eyes and a tall frame.
"I will ask the Kings leave for you to join me for a month before you come back for he wedding, I think you need to relax away from your husband, maybe you can even take your daughter with you for a visit?"
"I would love that."
Bealon was suprised she answered so quickly and he worried that he had truly misjudged Aemma and Viserys relationship, she wanted to be away from him so badly that she was willing to travel dangerously to escape.
"I will see to it."
I looked at Aemma with a happy smile before looked at Jon and commanding him to guard Aemma even against her own husband, he took that order to heart from what I could see before turning back to Bealon with a smile but I could see him frowning at Aemma leaving.
"She will be fine, Bealon."
He just looked at me but smiled, we talking for a little while longer before we parted ways, changes were coming to Westeros and I would ensure that we were ready for the long night in the future.
