I show up to the restaurant I am sure that he reserved. Usually I am the one to invite Roboty to things, so it is pretty surprising that he invited me this time.
I enter the restaurant wearing the formal outfit I had and tried to find Roboty. There he is, I spot Roboty at a table in the back corner. Sometimes I forget he doesn't prefer crowds.
"Greetings N/A, I am glad you made it!" He uses his normal robotic voice. Somehow, it soothes me.
"Of course I made it! Not only did you invite me, but I heard this place had good reviews and wanted to try!"
"Oh yes, I have been here before, but by myself only. So, I'm glad you accepted my offer!"
I take a seat on the other side of the table as we wait for our waiter. His green eyes are shining brighter than normal. Maybe it's because he is happy? I'm too nervous to ask.
Our waiter comes, so we order our food. I order the salad with fries and Roboty orders a mushroom sauté with garnish. I knew not to order a drink, because well, Roboty could get hurt. (I tried to come up with a fancy meal. Sorryyyy)
It's nice to chat with him, it makes me feel like I have someone there for me, no matter the time or place. I think Roboty feels the same way, but somehow, Stronger...
We get our food and the reviews don't lie, it's delicious!
"Roboty, this is amazing! You have great taste!"
"Thank you N/A, I do have refined food sensors after all."
We both laugh at the statement.
"And a refined sense of humor!"
We finish our food and leave the restaurant, then Roboty stops me.
"N/A, I have something to confess."
"Oh, sure Roboty, is everything okay?"
He moves in closer to me and pulls out a bouquet of roses from the side of him using his electronic arm.
"*Gasp! For me?"
"N/A, I have developed romantic feelings for you for a while now. However, I don't predict you feel the same, which is reasonable. I am a robot after all."
"Oh Roboty."
I pull him into a tight embrace
"Thank you for telling me, and you don't have to feel ashamed at all. I love you for who you are, and you don't need to change one bit for me, yourself, or anyone else."
"Wow N/A, thank you for that. You are quite a poet."
We let go of each other. "Thanks for the compliment, Roboty!"
"I am glad that we can be together, even with our differences N/A."
"Me too dear, me too"
