[Warning: This is a crossover chapter with a game I play. Lol. It includes "anime characters" and is OOC for a Creepypasta story so read at your own discretion, I guess. I just felt like doing a random crossover with these guys and hopefully fellow players who know the game enjoys the chapter. "Kagekao, for the hundredth time watch where you're going!"
I looked up from the little tea party I was having with Sally to bond with her since we hadn't done this in years and saw Kagekao getting yelled at again by SlenderMan for what had to be the eighth time today. This past week he's been overly addicted to some game BEN had shown him on his phone. Kagekao ended up liking the game way more than BEN apparently, and now the interest had quickly spiraled into an obsession. Every time anyone sees Kagekao nowadays, his head's lowered and his razor sharp focus is solely on the game.
"Kagekao's stupid," Sally commented straight up, not taking her eyes off her tea set as she poured tea into my empty cup. "Slender's eventually just gonna take the phone away from him because he literally never looks up anymore."
"Yeah probably," I utter back. To be honest, I was curious as to what had gotten Kagekao so hooked to a screen, probably even more so than BEN at this point which was surprising.
Kagekao stood before SlenderMan, tapping away at the phone like a mindless drone with headphones on while Slenders had begun yelling at him for neglecting his duties as a killer and for causing so much disruption with his inattentiveness.
I rolled my eyes at the confrontation and was about to turn to focus back on the tea party when I heard the words, "That's IT! You are cut off!" and then the sound of Kagekao's roar of anger and dismay rang across the mansion. Both me and Sally turned with widened eyes to see that Slender had snatched away the phone from Kagekao with his tendril and was now holding it at a height the 5'4 demon couldn't reach. "MASTER! GIve it BACK!" Kagekao yelled at the top of his lungs, jumping with all his might trying to swipe and grab back the phone. "No. You won't be getting this back for a while, it's time you take a break."
Me and Sally watched as Slender and Kagekao continued to argue back and forth until Slenders just got annoyed and he suddenly vanished on the spot along with the phone. Kagekao collapsed to the ground, defeated.
"Man. Don't you just love tea and drama?" Sally suddenly spoke aloud, crossing her legs as she smugly took a sip of her tea as she eyed Kagekao groaning on the ground. "Shut it you stupid little girl! UGH, I hate all of you!" Kagekao uncharacteristically snapped back, suddenly springing from up off the ground and darting for the stairs to head to his room.
I frowned a bit. Kagekao seemed really distressed over getting the phone taken. Just how addicting was the game he was playing that would cause Kagekao behave this way? Sally lowered her tea and sighed, "Damn, what's he acting like such a baby for...can we just go back to our tea party, (Y/N)?"
I hesitated a bit before turning back to her and smiling, "Sure Sally, let's continue."

A few days had passed and Kagekao had not been seen by anyone outside of his room. Not even Former or Suicide Sadie. "He won't talk to me! He won't even let me in his room and ignores my requests to talk..." Sadie fussed miserably into Former's shoulder as they stood somewhere at the end of the hallway. Former sullenly patted her head and glanced longingly at Kagekao's door. "Don't cry Sadie, Kagekao'll have to come around eventually. In the meantime, Former and Sadie won't give up on trying to get through to Kagekao, alright?"
I watched the two of them for a bit before deciding to try something out. I quickly rush downstairs and grab a bottle of wine from atop the cabinets along with a corkscrew, then run back upstairs with it held behind my back. I wait for Former and Sadie to eventually leave before slowly stalking over to Kagekao's door. I listened in for a bit before taking the wine and holding it before the door. I got ready to jam to corkscrew into the top when the door suddenly flew open, startling me.
"What the fuck. I didn't even open–"
"Thanks for the wine, (Y/N)-sama. Now get lost," Kagekao grinned, snatching the bottle from my grasp. "Wait, Kage WAIT–" I shouted, going to stop him just as he was about to slam the door back in my face. As I fought to keep the door open, I could see a bit into his room and...I saw something–or what appeared to someone looking over at me and Kagekao struggling with huge, curious eyes.
"Ne, Kagekao-san! Dare no sore...?" [Hey Kagekao, whose that?]
Kagekao turned and responded "D-Dare demonai! Goshinpaiaku!" [It's nobody, don't worry about it!]
I frowned and pushed against the door harder, "Kagekao, you've been locked up in your room for more than a week! What are you hiding, what's wrong with you?" I sneer. I use all my force and am able to overpower the trickster, knocking him backwards and stumbling into his room. When I look up, I see...some girl...
The girl's eyes widened as she watched me tumble into the room. She gasped, but her initial fear quickly turned into excitement and she jumped up from where she was sitting on Kagekao's bed, grinning at me excitedly. "O o o wakuwaku!!! Ya! Anatahadare...?" [Wowwowowowowow!! HI! Who are you...?]
I was trying to recollect my breath while eyeing the Japanese-speaking girl in utter confusion. Like no joke; why the fuck was there a very realistic video game looking character now staring at me like I was a stack of cash. The girl had short pink hair styled in a bob and big, pink eyes. She wore a pink sweater with smiley pins and balloon animal patches over what looked to be her school uniform and had a mischievous grin on her face.
"Uh.....Hi.....?" I mumble out, actually quite shocked by the reality of the girl. It was so strange...what the hell did Kagekao do?
The girl kept talking but she was speaking purely in Japanese so I was stuck unable to respond to her questions (unless you understand Japanese, you understood her but was at a loss for words) that were clearly directed towards me. Kagekao nervously tried to stand between me and the girl and eventually cut her off, growling at me, "Why do you have to be so nosy, jeez...she wasn't supposed to see any of you bozos yet..."
"Who is she??" I question, narrowing my eyes at Kagekao. Kagekao hesitated to answer for a long time, whilst this strange girl giddily smiled between me and Kagekao before giggling and suddenly jumping to pose on one leg, spreading her arms out comically while she beamed at me.
"Ichi...ni...san....WANDAHOIIIIIIII!!!!" [Wonderhoi!]
"Wonder-who?"
Kagekao sighed and facepalmed before snapping something at the girl in Japanese, causing her to stand normally again and look between the two of us with a quiet curiosity. He then faced me and muttered, "Fine, I guess it's no use hiding it now. (Y/N)-sama, this is Otori, Emu [Ehh-mu]! She's from that game I've been playing the past few days...I got so angry when Slende-sama took the game away from me so with a little help from BEN I was able to bring some of the character's into reality!"
"SOME?" I side-eyed him. He nodded and his usual smirk returned on his face. "If I can't have the game, then I'll keep some of my favorite characters around to keep me company. In the end, Slende-sama still loses and that's all that matters...right Emu?"
Kagekao suddenly clasped his head on the shorter girl's head and she beamed again, holding up her fists excitedly, "Yeah Kage-san–! W-Wait, did I just–EHH? I'm speaking English??"
I blinked in confusion while the girl begins to panic at this sudden new ability of hers. "It's called changing the coding~" Kagekao chuckled, amused by Emu's sudden frenzy. "God do I love BEN-kun and all his reality-bending tricks~!"
"Oh...this is so cool! I can speak English now, and I can understand it too!!" Emu screeched, clasping her hands together, "Kage-san this place gets more and more exciting by the second–even though it's just your bedroom! Can we bring back Tsukasa-kun and the others as well? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?"
I was still in a bit of a daze at the fact that a game character was standing before me right now pleading with a Creepypasta. It seemed so out of place, yet out of place shit always seems to happen in this crazy mansion. "What–What game are you...from?" I slowly ask, causing Emu's attention to turn to me again. "Oh! Apparently I'm from a rhythm game world called Project Sekai! Isn't that weird? Who would've ever thought our world is a super fun video game in another!"
Emu seemed a bit too much cheerful for my liking but at the same time she was nice so far, I guess. Was also kinda getting huge airhead vibes from her, but I decided to keep my thoughts to myself.
"(Y/N)-sama, please promise to keep this to yourself...we don't want Slender to find out. If you promise, I'll let you meet the others BEN pulled for me~"
To be honest, I kinda didn't really care, but at the same time I noticed Kagekao seemed really happy about his new friend and I didn't feel like being an asshole and ruining his ...somewhat more tame than usual fun, so I nodded my head, promising my silence.
"Good!" Kagekao exclaimed, "then you can hang out with me and Emu-chan. The others should be back in a few...unless...you'd like to come meet them?"
"Errr...actually I have...to go walk the...milk...yeah," I mumble up an excuse to avoid being introduced to new people. I was about to quickly excuse myself from the room when Emu suddenly lunged at me and grabbed a hold of my arm, tightly. For the literal cotton candy ball of a girl she looked like, she had a terrifying grasp. "Nonsense (Y/N)-san! You should come meet my friends! Don't worry, they'reeeee Wonder-spectacular!"
Getting an actual cavity from the very existence of this kid. Kagekao chuckles at Emu's enthusiasm while I try relentlessly to pull away from her. Emu suddenly pulls out from her sweater what looks to be her phone and grins evilly. "MUAHAHAHAHA! Are you ready to meet everyone, (Y/N)-sama?"
"Waait—is this supposed to be an online group-chat or something..."
Kagekao scoffed, "Hah, you wish. Take us away, Emu-chan!"
"Okay! Everybody say....WONDERHOIIIIII!!!"
Emu held out her phone between the three of us and suddenly a bright light shot out from the screen, starting slowly but progressively beginning to envelop us and the whole room.
Only Kagekao and Emu's "wOnDeRhOi" could be heard mixed with my confused screaming as we were suddenly completely devoured by the strange light...

"No...where am I? My god where am I???"
I was suddenly standing in a very bright and blindingly colorful carnival of sorts. Everywhere I turned there was something unordinary in sight—I saw a large carousel floating in the air and a gigantic Farris wheel spinning in the distance. A train on a clear, almost invisible path suddenly sped past me, the wind causing me to nearly fall backwards. The air smells like cotton candy and other sugary things you would normally find at a fair.
Balloons swirled around in the air and littered the sky with numerous colors. My eyes widened as I took all of this in, slightly unnerved from the fact that I remembered I was literally just zapped into that girl Emu's phone or something.
"K-Kagekao...?" I nervously uttered out, noticing that I was standing in the area by myself. A sudden loud rustle startled me, and I looked aside to see one of the trees I was nearby quickly stop shaking. I blinked and started to move away cautiously from the tree, but before I could get very far, something blue suddenly shot out of the tree and straight at me, knocking me over onto the ground.
"HELP—" I screeched like a bird, clearly forgetting I literally had every skull in existence to defend myself. I look up in a panic and see this strange, almost familiar girl with very long blue pigtails and a clownish getup hovering over me with an exuberant smile. "Hehe! You must be the one Emu told us about! Hi there!"
Her voice sounded very robotic and computerized, especially in English ...almost like a...
"No way..." I mutter. "Uhm...would it be weird if I assumed that you were Hatsune Miku by any chance...?"
The girl beamed, "No, not at all! That's because...you're right!" She quickly jumped off of me and did a silly pose, almost like Emu's, "welcome to Wonderland SEKAI, (Y/N)! I'm the Miku of this SEKAI and I'm so happy to have you here!"
I was so dazed at the moment that all I could do was stare at her. I eventually see none other than Kagekao run up behind Miku and jump up on her shoulders, his mask expressing his overjoyous demeanor. "(Y/N)-sama! Isn't this place great???"
"Uhh..." I mumble. Apparently my brain lacks the ability to process the fact that Hatsune Miku was standing right infront of me, smiling like a complete idiot.
"Wow Kage-kun, I think they're at a loss for words!" Miku giggled, "well that's okay! I think (Y/N)'ll really enjoy the show Emu suggested she and the others put on for them!"
"Oh right—(Y/N)-sama," Kagekao exclaimed, hopping off Miku's shoulders, "Emu-chan and her friends agreed to put on a show to welcome you here. Isn't that nice?? I'm the one who pitched the idea~"
"A show? What..."
I grab my head and take a moment to breathe and calm myself down. I admit, I was a little afraid because I'd been zapped into different universes before and they all lead to the worse case scenarios—me getting killed. However, this world seemed like everything that the Creepypasta world wasn't, and Emu was the embodiment of sweetness and optimism and freaking Hatsune Miku was here so maybe it wasn't that bad. At least Kagekao was here so that helped me feel the slightest bit safe.
I sigh and relax a bit before glancing back at Miku and pulling myself off the ground. "Wonderland SEKAI?" I ask. "Mhm! This world was the culmination of one of our friends' deepest feelings! Me and the others are here to help Tsukasa-kun and his friends find their true feelings and share it in the form of song!"
"Wow," I utter out, "this is so un-Creepypasta in every possible way."
"Hum? Creepypasta?" Miku tilted her head. Kagekao frantically shook his hands at me and his head and snapped, "Nothing Miku-chan! Don't worry about it! L-Let's bring (Y/N) to the stage so they can meet the others!"
Miku shrugged, "Okay then! Come on (Y/N), Kage-kun! Everyone's waiting!"
I watched as the clownish Miku spun on her heel and skipped off while humming. Kagekao stepped up to me and thwacked me in the head, "No! No mention of Creepypastas or killing or anything bad that we do here, got it!?" Kagekao hissed at me, "this is my new comfort place and...I'd like to keep it that way..."
I rubbed my head and glared at him, "First of all, don't ever hit me again. Secondly fine, I understand that much. But why'd you and Emu have to drag me into it?"
Kagekao's mask gave a sad smile, "After thinking about it I—I thought it would be cool to show a friend my secret little world, you know? It became an exciting idea. The other Creepypastas would mock me and make fun of me for being into such a thing but I figured (Y/N)-sama might be different..."
I looked at him for a hit before giving him a small smile and placing a hand on his shoulder, "What about Sadie and Former? They miss the hell outta you."
Kagekao shook his head, "I would rather not embarrass myself in front of them...I can trust you though. Also you were the first person to show up in my room after weeks so that helps too!"
I rolled my eyes before Kagekao grabbed my hand and pulled me behind him as we ran through the exciting, bubbly wonderland. We eventually came across a large stage that was slightly floating a bit in the air. The curtains were closed on the stage, but I could see that Miku was standing in front of the curtains with a big smile. Next to her was another guy with dark blue hair wearing a blue showman's suit, he was grinning just as happily as Miku.
Kagekao pulls me up to stand in front of the stage and holds my arm excitedly. He seemed really happy to show me off to his new friends for some reason, but literally happy Kagekao is better than drunk Kagekao, prankster Kagekao, demonically angry Kagekao and so on... so I wasn't complaining.
"We're here!" Kagekao waved up at the blue haired vocaloid and the other guy. "Oh? Kage-kun , is this your friend Emu told us about?" The blue haired guy questioned, glancing down at me. "Yep. This is (Y/N)! They're one of my...better friends," Kagekao exclaimed. "Hi," I quickly held up my hand and put it back down because I'm not that great at meeting new people and all without getting to awkward.
To be honest though , this guy actually kinda reminds me of—
"Well it's nice to meet you (Y/N)! Welcome to Wonderland SEKAI!" The male greeted me, "my names' KAITO. Miku and the others are so happy to have you here!"
—yeah, figured this had to be another vocaloid and he literally sounds like KAITO so it made sense.
"I can't believe we're standing in front of THE Miku and KAITO...and they're not even holograms because Miku literally crushed me back there..." I whispered to Kagekao. "I know! This has to be the greatest moment of my life..." Kagekao snickered, "just imagine what other characters I could meet with the help of BEN~"
I shook my head at him and my attention returned to the stage as Miku began to speak, "Kage-kun! (Y/N)-sama! I hope you're prepared because we've got quite the show for you today, don't we Kaito?"
"Indeed! The others work really hard to put on their best performance for their audiences, so I'm sure you'll enjoy what they bring to the table!" Kaito responded, enthusiastically nodding his head.
"No doubt! Are you ready down there? Without further ado, give a big rouuuuuuund of applause for the one and only.... WonderlandsXShowtime!!"
At Miku's shout, the curtains drew open and I could see a huge, very well decorated stage with all sorts of colors and fun props functioning in the background. Five people stood on stage, one of them appearing to be none other than the pink-haired Emu. I noticed that in the very front was a pretty familiar face, like Hatsune Miku and KAITO...
"Kagekao...is that...?"
"Len Kagamine~...." Kagekao smirked at my expression.
I stared at the performers in shock as they all began getting into their places. What unfolded next was apparently some sort of play; the actors all got into character with their costumes and began to perform, bringing life to the stage. I was amazed at how good these guys were at performing—it really felt like I was watching the real deal unfold. It was pretty cool seeing the real Kagamine Len on stage acting with them, and even for his computerized voice, he pulled off his role fairly well. Me and Kagekao were totally enjoying the play and Miku and Kaito both seemed happy that we were thrilled.
At the end of the play, Len ran to the middle of the stage and shouted, "Since we're all together again...why don't we perform a song?"
The orange haired boy ran up beside Len and shouted, "Why don't we? It sounds like a wonderful idea! Are you ready, everyone?"
Suddenly, all the characters they were playing ran into places on the stage and the stage dimmed for a while...but when the lights returned, I saw that everyone was now wearing different costumes. The next thing I knew, they had all begun dancing and singing...
Once the performance was over, confetti suddenly exploded from out of nowhere and fell all over us, covering us like snow. I couldn't help but be completely blown away and began clapping furiously besides Kagekao while the performers took their bows.
Len Kagamine waved frantically at me and smiled, "Hellloooooo (Y/N)! Welcome to Wonderland SEKAI!!"
The orange haired male suddenly stepped up beside Len with a microphone and pointed at me with a bold stare, "You there! You must be our newcomer Kagekao's friend!"
I blinked before nodding awkwardly and holding my arm, "Hey..."
"No need to be shy! Everyone here is honored that you've taken the time to come and see us!" He then placed his hand on his chest and grinned, "My name is Tsukasa! I'm the esteemed leader of the WonderlandsXShowtime troupe! It's great to have you here! And for a foreigner, you speak Japanese absolutely perfectly, might I add!"
"Wait what? I don't..." I began, but Kagekao nudged my arm, "we're in their world now so we abide by this worlds' coding! You may hear English but we're actually all speaking and hearing their language!"
I chuckled, "That's...actually kinda cool. I wish I could hear myself."
Tsukasa handed over the mic to the very pale haired girl that was standing next to him, and she smiled very faintly, appearing a bit shy, "My name's Nene Kusanagi...nice to meet you...(Y/N) is it?"
I nodded and waved at her, my smile growing a bit. These people seemed really nice...I liked not getting bullied and abused for a change. Nene passed on the mic to the purple and blue streak haired grinning boy that was next to her and he took a very dramatic bow before speaking, "I'm Rui Kamishiro. It's a pleasure to meet you, and thank you for coming to our show, (Y/N)."
Rui then passed on the mic to Emu who was already bouncing up and down with excitement. "(Y/N)-sama!!! Kage-kun!!! What did you think of the show?? I hope you enjoyed it!!"
"It was amazing, Emu-chan! You guys did great as usual!" Kagekao cheered, applauding them again. "I agree! It was so...I don't know, cheerful? Euphoric?" I spoke up, "You guys were just so coordinated and lively and it made the show lots of fun. Not to mention your acting skills? You guys are great..."
Emu gushed at hearing this and Tsukasa laughed vibrantly, "That's very kind of you to say (Y/N)! And you know what? I think I'd like to invite you to more of our performances sometime. What do you say?"
Kagekao glanced over at me eagerly, so I couldn't help but smile and nod, "Of course, why not? This was amazing."
Emu cheered and hopped off the stage, suddenly running towards me. I was a bit shocked at how she managed to jump off when the big stage was literally floating off the ground, but the girl managed to stick the landing anyways. Emu ran to me and wrapped her arms around me tightly while squealing. "Thank you so much for coming, (Y/N)! I hope our show truly brought you lots of joy!"
"Emu...." Nene's voice could be heard as she and the others descended from the stage via steps, "you shouldn't jump off the stage like that, you'll hurt yourself..."
Rui chuckled, "Hehe, our Emu seems pretty fine to me, no?"
"That's Emu for you!" Tsukasa laughed.
"Heheh! Emu-chan has more energy than I could even wish!" Len snickered, "I want to try and be just as energetic as her!"
Despite being a Creepypasta and all, I really liked their energy. They're pretty cool...maybe I could visit them every now and then with Kagekao and get to know them better. Of course while not telling the other Creepypastas where I've been going...
"Bet you're glad me and Emu dragged you here now, huh (Y/N)?" Kagekao snickered. "I guess I am," I grin, lightly patting Emu's head. Emu finally let go of me and smiled, "(Y/N)-sama! Before we do anything else...I wanna hear you say Wonderhoi!!!"
"Wait what," I blinked at her. "Come on (Y/N), say it, say it!" Miku stared at me with a hyper focused gaze. "It's quite simple, allow me to demonstrate," Tsukasa held up his head proudly before jumping and whirling his hands in front of himself, "Wonderhoi!!"
"Wonderhoi!!" Emu, Nene, and Rui, Len, Miku, Kaito, and Kagekao all chanted as well. "Oh...oh jeez..." I shook my head, slightly embarrassed. "You can do it. No one's judging you here,"
Nene nodded her head at me while smiling softly. "Let out your inner child and have fun!" Kaito persuaded me. Kagekao nodded his head at me, and so I took a deep breath before I finally let go and copied their movements, hopping onto one leg and waving my hands around, "WondErhOi!??"
Everyone instantly burst out laughing, but it didn't feel like a mean kind of laugh, it felt genuinely playful and warm. I myself laughed at how silly I had done it.
Emu suddenly grabbed my arm and began to pull me along with her as she began to march in direction of the park where all the rides were present, "Come on everyone! Let's go on the rides and introduce (Y/N) to everything and tell them all about us and our journey!"
"I agree! I want (Y/N)-sama to get used to this place, after all I think they may be coming around quite a bit now after today~" Kagekao elbowed me. I rolled my eyes and chuckled a bit, "Yeha sure Kage."
"Well that's good news. We'll make sure to have more wonderful performances planned for you in the future," Rui exclaimed, smiling at me. "Oh oh oh! Next time can we do "The Knight and the Good Dragon??" Len begged, clasping his hands together. "Sounds like a plan!" Tsukasa replied, "we'd best prepare ourselves for it though, it's been a while since we'd done that play."
From that moment on, I spent the rest of my day inside of an anime rhythm video game hanging out with the real vocaloids Hatsune Miku, Kaito, and Len Kagamine as well as the members of WxS and Kagekao. Despite it being so out of touch with what I was used to and what I knew, I actually had lots of fun and enjoyed being around all these characters.
From that day on, me and Kagekao would every now and then disappear from the mansion for an undisclosed period of time and visit our friends in the Wonderland SEKAI, leaving our lives as murders and freaks for just a while to be free and happy again.
