It's safe to say that when Marjorie woke up tucked in bed she was confused. The last thing she remembers from last night was watching an episode of ER on Klaus' laptop while laying on the couch.

Someone must've brought her to her room when they returned home, Rebekah probably would've just adjusted her into a more comfortable position and left her on the couch, Hayley probably couldn't even lift her right now, so that leaves Klaus.

In the short time she's been living with her birth father Marjorie has come to realize just how confusing he is. During her time here they have only had short exchanges towards each other, never have they sat down together and had a real conversation.

Remembering what Rebekah told her about him being scared to be a father towards her because of his lack there of a father, Marjorie is trying to be patient and allow him time to come to terms with the new additions to the Mikaelson family.

But at the same time, she's always wanted a father and a family. It makes her fear that the longer it takes for him to acknowledge her the less chance she has at getting to bond with him before the new baby arrives.

Speaking of new baby, the idea of being a big sister is exciting for Marjorie. Growing up in the foster system there was rarely ever a time when Marjorie was without foster brothers and sisters, and though they were not blood she loved them as if they were.

Her foster siblings were the only reason she lasted as long as she did in the system without running away. She protected them when no one else would and now that she has the possibility of having a real blood sibling her excitement is growing.

Her stomach grumbling is what forced Marjorie to finally get out of bed, she didn't bother getting "dressed up" and only threw on a pair of sweatpants and cropped tank. She tiptoed down the stairs hearing Klaus and Rebekah talking in the living room.

She walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator frowning when she noticed it was completely empty aside from what must've been her dinner she never got to eat from last night.

Shrugging, Marjorie grabbed the container and closed the door before opening the microwave and popping her food inside it. She leaned back on the counter as she waited for her food to warm up, something caught her eye from outside the glass kitchen doors that opened to the pool and backyard.

Marjorie walked over to the doors and looked outside frowning when she saw what looked like a furry brown tail ducking behind the hydrangea bush she grew with her magic just the other day.

The sound of the timer on the microwave snapped her out of her intrigued gaze making her shake her head and walk back over to get her food. She opened the microwave door and grabbed her food out before getting a fork and a random bottle of water that was sitting by the sink, luckily unopened.

Marjorie hesitantly walked into the living room, immediately gaining Rebekah's attention who gave her a soft smile.

"Sleep well sweetheart?" Rebekah asked making Klaus turn towards Marjorie and she smiled shyly in greeting making Klaus give her one in return

"I did." Marjorie nodded moving to sit next to Rebekah on the couch

"Where's the rest of your shirt love?" Klaus asked taking notice of the rather revealing top Marjorie looked down at her outfit with furrowed brows and Rebekah scoffed

"Oh leave her be Nik. It's what all the kids are wearing these days, and we're also in bloody New Orleans the land of humidity." Rebekah rolled her eyes and Marjorie giggled at the look on Klaus' face

"Doesn't mean I have to like it." Klaus grumbled flopping down into the arm chair across from the couch

Marjorie started eating some of her chicken making Rebekah scrunch her face up and Klaus chuckle.

"That's what you're having for breakfast?" Rebekah asked and Marjorie shrugged

"It's all we have. Can one of you please go to the grocery since Hayley and I aren't allowed to leave the house? Both of us actually have to eat real food and not just ya know blood." Marjorie said eating a scoop of her rice and beans

"I'll compel someone from the supermarket to run some groceries by. Why don't you make a list and I'll deliver it when I leave." Klaus said and Marjorie nodded

"Thanks." Marjorie smiled and Klaus looked at her for a moment before nodding

"You know, I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me. You know how I love to set things on fire!" Rebekah turned back to Klaus, probably returning to their conversation before Marjorie entered the room

"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot? Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my child!" Klaus smirked and Marjorie choked on a piece of rice making Rebekah pat her back

"What happened?" Marjorie asked with wide eyes and Klaus huffed

"Oh, Hayley had the bright idea to go on a nighttime stroll through the Quarter last night almost getting herself and your sibling killed." Klaus explained, making Marjorie look at him a little shocked this was the first time he ever regarded Marjorie and the baby as his children

"Oh, I am so moved by your new-found sense of fatherly duties towards the werewolf carrying your hybrid bun in her oven. Why don't you show some of that towards your teenage tribrid daughter." Rebekah narrowed her eyes making Marjorie sink into her seat and Klaus roll his eyes

"The werewolf would like to know what the plan is." Hayley said making an appearance before Klaus could address Marjorie

"Well, that depends what plan you mean, love-- my plan for global domination, or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world?" Klaus smirked and Marjorie giggled making Klaus' smirk widen

Rebekah used one hand to cover Marjorie's eyes before she takes a pencil from the desk beside her into her other hand and throws it in Klaus' direction. Klaus catches it easily before it can embed itself in his face and Rebekah removed her hand from Marjorie's face making the teenager look between the adults with furrowed brows

"The plan to rescue Elijah. You know, the good brother? The one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy after you stabbed him in the back?" Hayley said crossing her arms over her chest making Marjorie perk up since she too would like to see Elijah again

"In the front, if we're being specific." Klaus smirked and Hayley rolled her eyes coming to sit next to Marjorie on the couch squishing her between herself and Rebekah

"You two said that you would get him back. So is there a plan, or what? Because I think Marjorie and this baby would like to see their uncle again." Hayley said and Marjorie nodded, not noticing how Klaus' jaw clenched

"Okay. Well, firstly, Marcel is not my mortal enemy-- he's my friend. Albeit one who is unaware that I'm trying to sabotage his hold over the supernatural community of the French Quarter, but a friend nonetheless. And secondly, I daggered Elijah in order to gain Marcel's trust. If I had known he would place my brother in the hands of a particularly nasty teenage witch, I certainly would have weighed my options a bit differently. And thirdly--"Klaus turns to Rebekah and gestures for her to speak. "-- Sister, please."

"And thirdly, the plan, as you have demanded, is for Niklaus to simply ask Marcel for Elijah back." Rebekah pipped up making Hayley and Marjorie shoot each other an incredulous look

"That's... that's not the whole plan, is it?" Hayley asked

"Yeah. I mean, I know I'm new to the whole supernatural thing but even I can tell that probably won't work." Marjorie said and Rebekah scoffed

"Please! Klaus may be a miserable excuse for a sibling, but there is none more diabolical." Rebekah smirked twirling a piece of Marjorie's unruly hair

"And that's only the Plan A, love! There's always a Plan B." Klaus shrugged

"And what's Plan B?" Hayley asked

"War." Klaus smiled

"I'm going to go make the grocery list." Marjorie mumbled leaving the room and taking her food with her

●・○・●・○・●

Marjorie decided to utilize the in-ground pool in the backyard and changed into a bathing suit Rebekah had bought her, which made sense because she doubted Elijah or Klaus would've bought her a bikini.

As she walked down the stairs she spotted Hayley leaning against the closed office door, Marjorie tiptoed down and stood behind her.

"Watcha doin?" Marjorie asked making Hayley jump and grab her chest

"God! You scared the hell out of me! How do you move so quietly?" Hayley asked breathing heavily and Marjorie just shrugged making Hayley chuckle. "I was trying to listen in on their conversation with Sophie, they want her to do a locator spell to find Elijah."

"I thought she couldn't do magic." Marjorie said and Hayley nodded

"She can't. They want to get the witch Katie that sold me out to perform a spell at the same time, Marcel's witch would only sense Katie's magic not Sophie's." Hayley explained and Marjorie raised her brows impressed

"That may actually work." Marjorie said and Hayley nodded

"I hope so." Hayley said before taking in Marjorie's outfit. "Going for a swim?"

"Yeah, I can't remember the last time I got to swim so I thought it might be fun. Want to join me?" Marjorie asked and Hayley shrugged

"I'll come out and sit with you, I don't really have the bikini body anymore." Hayley said looking down at her stomach that had a noticeable bloat to it, it was small but it was there

"You look great Hales, you have the pregnancy glow." Marjorie said and Hayley chuckled

"I think that's just sweat. You go on out, I'll be there in a minute." Hayley said and Marjorie nodded

Marjorie pushed the glass doors open and walked outside she sat her towel and phone on one of the lawn chairs before walking to the pool steps. She dipped her toes into the water to test the temperature before walking the rest of the way in.

With how hot it's been lately Marjorie wasn't surprised to find the pool more lukewarm than cold, she would've preferred it to be colder though. Something about a nice cold pool on a hot day is so refreshing.

She walked deeper until the water was up to her chest before sinking under the water, she's gotten quite good at holding her breath. But unfortunately not for any good reasons like the swim team at school. No instead she would have to learn to hold her breath so she wouldn't drown when her foster father decided to hold her under water in the bathtub every time she needed a "punishment".

But if that experience taught her anything it was to stay calm and not panic, when in a situation where drowning is possible it's best to try and stay calm so you don't accidentally inhale water.

Now though she can enjoy gliding through the water as she swims back and forth from one side of the pool to the other. Hayley came out shortly after Marjorie got in and sat on the edge with her feet in the water and now Marjorie is just floating on her back.

"How are you doing with all of this? I mean, you found your birth father." Hayley broke the peaceful silence and Marjorie sat up so she was standing again

"It's definitely not what I was expecting that's for sure. I always thought that I was the product of a teen pregnancy and my birth parents just didn't want to have to deal with a baby so they got rid of me. But now knowing that my father is over a thousand years old and the original hybrid, it's just a lot to take in." Marjorie vented and Hayley looked at her sympathetically

She couldn't imagine how crazy all of this must be for her, she's only 17 years old and new to the supernatural world and has been thrown into all this. But Hayley must say, Marjorie is handling the situation well, she just hopes she's doing as well on the inside as she appears to be on the outside.

"Have you talked to Klaus at all about any of this?" Hayley asked and Marjorie shook her head

"I never see him. It's like he's purposely avoiding me and I get it, he didn't expect any of this and he's still got a lot of other things going on right now. But, I just want to have a conversation with him. I want to learn about where I came from and have a relationship with him." Marjorie say before looking down. "When I was in elementary school, I would see the dads dropping their daughters off and kissing them on the forehead and telling them to have a good day and it always made me sad because I never had that. No one ever kissed me goodbye or even told me they loved me in my entire life, I just want someone to really care."

Hayley held her arms out despite the fact that Marjorie was wet and pulled her into a tight hug, she kissed the top of her head and Marjorie held her tightly.

"I care. You know, you're the only person keeping me sane through all of this and I can already tell that you're going to be such a good big sister to this baby. Klaus will come around, but until he does and even after he does you've got me." Hayley said and Marjorie smiled

"Thanks Hayley. The same goes for you, I hope you find your family but until then you've got me." Marjorie said pulling back

"I've always wanted a little sister you know." Hayley winked and Marjorie grinned

"What a coincidence, I've always wanted a big sister." Marjorie giggled and Hayley smiled

●・○・●・○・●

It was completely nighttime outside now, Klaus and Rebekah had left to go to a masquerade gala as part of their plan to trick Marcel and get Elijah back. Marjorie was so jealous because she'd seen masquerade balls on tv and had always wanted to go to one. But Rebekah promised that once it was safe for her and Hayley to be known that they would throw one just for her.

Now Marjorie and Hayley were lounging back on the lawn chairs watching the stars and listening to the sounds of nature when they heard a twig snap from behind them.

"Did you hear that?" Marjorie mouthed and Hayley nodded, slowly getting up

Hayley slowly walks towards where the sound came from and Marjorie hesitantly followed her clutching her towel around her body. Marjorie's eyes widened when she saw not one, but two wolves staring back at them.

One had white and black fur with light shades of brown and was staring directly at Hayley. The other was staring directly at Marjorie, it was completely brown with almost reddish and black fur. It was beautiful and for some reason when looking into the wolf's eyes she felt a weird pull in her chest it was like there was an invisible string trying to pull her towards it.

Part of her wanted to reach out and pet it, but the smarter part of her reminded Marjorie that it was a wild animal and would probably tear her to shreds if she did.

"You two aren't suppose to be out here." A voice spoke from behind them startling them

They turned around and saw a dark skinned woman standing at the door, she looked familiar but Marjorie couldn't place her.

"Who are you?" Hayley asked stepping in front of Marjorie protectively

"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I'm Sabine. We met. I'm one of Sophie's friends." Sabine said giving the girls a smile, specifically focusing on Marjorie which made her feel uncomfortable

"You're one of the witches that kidnapped us." Marjorie realized where she knew her from and Sabine gave her and apologetic smile

"Not my finest moment I will admit. Sophie just asked me to come keep you both company while everyone's out." Sabine said and Hayley narrowed her eyes

"We've got each other, we don't need a babysitter." Hayley said and Sabine raised her hands in surrender

"I'm sure you don't. Either way I just wanted to check in." Sabine said before noticing the wolves still standing behind the girls. "You know, they're drawn to the both of you. The child you're carrying is part vampire, part werewolf just as you are Marjorie. You and Klaus and Klaus and Marjorie's mother made something special."

"So we've heard." Marjorie sighed as she shivered from the slight breeze pulling her towel tighter around her

"You sound like Elijah. He thinks Marjorie and this baby are going to make us one big, happy family, but now he's gone and I don't even know what... "it" is." Hayley said holding her stomach

"You know, I can do something about that, if you want. I mean, find out if it's a boy or girl." Sabine offered and Hayley furrowed her brows

"I thought you couldn't do witchy stuff around here." Hayley said and Marjorie nodded

"She can't." Marjorie said and Sabine just smiled

"It's not magic, just an old trick my grandmother taught me. Come on. You have to be a little curious. You too Marjorie, don't you want to know if you're going to have a little brother or sister?" Sabine pushed and Hayley and Marjorie exchanged a look

"It would be cool to find out." Marjorie said and Hayley sighed

"Fine. But do anything I don't like and I'll end you." Hayley threatened and Sabine nodded gesturing towards the open doors

"After you." Sabine said

Hayley walked to the door and Marjorie paused to look behind her and for some reason was a little sad to see the wolf gone.

"Marjorie, you coming hon?" Sabine asked and Marjorie nodded looking longingly at the spot the wolf was before walking inside

Hayley was laying on the kitchen counter and Marjorie moved to stand beside her while Sabine stood next to Marjorie and held one of her crystal necklaces over Hayley's stomach.

"I think it's a girl." Sabine said and Hayley and Marjorie exchanged excited smiles, but then the crystal starts to swing in the other direction, and Sabine frowns. "No... wait."

"Wait what? Please tell me I'm not having a mini-Klaus." Hayley chuckled nervously

"Lord help us." Marjorie giggled

The crystal suddenly glows with a bright light, which causes Sabine to drop it and Marjorie flinches as all of a sudden, Sabine grips into Marjorie's arm and her eyes roll back in her head, and she begins to chant in a low voice.

"Hoc est infantima malom. Nos omnia perditu el eam." Sabine chanted

Marjorie and Hayley both looked at each other freaked out neither knowing what Sabine said meant or what language it even was.

●・○・●・○・●

Sabine left quickly after her little episode and to say Marjorie and Hayley were freaked would be an understatement.

Marjorie went up to her room to take a hot shower since she was freezing and Hayley was searching every translating website to try and figure out what Sabine said and what it meant.

When she was finished in the shower Marjorie dried herself off and got dressed in a pair of pajamas before doing her nighttime routine. She turned off the bathroom light and stepped into her bedroom.

She thought about going to see if Hayley found anything but decided against it when she saw it was almost one o'clock in the morning and way past both of their bedtimes since being here. When she was little Marjorie was always a morning person, she'd wake up at five o'clock to see the sunrise and read her new book she'd check out from the school library. Then the past couple of years she's been a night owl, sleep never coming easy to her so she'd read whatever book she had before finally falling asleep around two in the morning.

But now she's been so drained, which might impartially be due to being linked with 2 (3 of you count the baby) people and feeling everything they feel.

Marjorie had just climbed into bed and picked up her discarded Pride and Prejudice book when there was a small, almost hesitant knock on the door.

"Come in." Marjorie said and she was surprised when it was Klaus who opened the door. "Hi."

"Hi. I already talked to Hayley but I thought you'd like to know that Elijah is going to be returning to us soon." Klaus said and Marjorie smiled

"That's great." Marjorie smiled and Klaus nodded

It was silent for a moment when Klaus noticed the book in Marjorie's hands.

"You read?" Klaus asked and Marjorie looked down at the book and nodded. "Quite advanced for a young girl like you wouldn't you say?"

"Maybe. I've always been an older soul is what I've been told. I like the classics." Marjorie said gesturing for Klaus to enter the room more

"You get that from your Uncle Elijah. You know, he actually met Jane Austen in 1813 when we were passing through the UK. That's when he got that copy." Klaus said and Marjorie looked at him with wide eyes

"That's so cool. Have you met many famous people?" Marjorie asked carefully sitting the book aside now that she knows how valuable it is

"Quite a few actually. Shakespeare, Van Gough, Napoleon, a couple of presidents, Queen Elizabeth the first, King George the third and wasn't a big fan of his, Elvis." Klaus listed and Marjorie smiled

"What was Queen Elizabeth like? I've learned about her in school. Is it true she refused to marry?" Marjorie asked and Klaus smiled at her excitement

"Yes, she said she already had a husband and that was the United Kingdom. Your Aunt Rebekah and her became great friends actually, she was quite the powerful woman." Klaus recalled

"What about Princess Diana? I was only 3 when she died but now looking back at some of the stuff she did I loved the person she was." Marjorie said

"That might be a question for Elijah, I believe he was in England at that time." Klaus said and Marjorie nodded. "I'm sorry I haven't been around much. There's been much going on and if I'm going to be honest."

"You're nervous." Marjorie said and Klaus hesitantly nodded. "Me too."

"I know you've never really had a father before and I want to be that for you I'm just afraid I'll mess it all up." Klaus said and Marjorie nodded in understanding

"I've never been a daughter before, I'm also afraid I'll mess it all up. Maybe we could try together." Marjorie said and Klaus gave a rare genuine smile

"I'd like that. Do you have any questions for me?" Klaus asked, feeling bad that she really has no idea about him or his family contrary to what she's heard from other people

"Yeah actually. I'm sure I made a list but I won't bore you." Marjorie said and Klaus chuckled. "Do you know who my birth mother was?"

"If I'm not mistaken her name is Ashley Kouns, I met her when I was passing through Little Rock. We dated while I was there which was only a couple of months before I had to leave to meet Elijah in New York. I went to tell her goodbye but she was gone, she sold her apartment and changed her number and I never saw her again. I always wonder why she left in such a hurry, I guess now I know." Klaus said gesturing to Marjorie who looked down

"So you didn't know about me?" Marjorie asked and Klaus gaped at her

"Of course not. Had I known I would've brought her with me we would've been a family for you. I would've raised you and taught you about what you'd become and how to control it." Klaus said and looking into his eyes Marjorie could tell he was being truthful

"You didn't abandon me?" Marjorie asked again and Klaus shook his head grabbing her hand

"I didn't and I won't. Now that I've found you I will never let you go, my little girl." Klaus promised and Marjorie's eyes started watering before she lurched forward pulling him into a hug

Klaus froze for a moment before wrapping his arms around her tightly he rubbed her back soothingly and kissed her forehead. He can't promise to be a perfect father, but he can promise to do his best.

And that's all anyone can ask of him.
