If there was one thing Duff thought he'd never agree to, it was the following statement:
"Care Bears is metal."
He never thought he'd ever hear the words Care Bears and metal in the same sentence...but the sentence had come from y/n; so maybe he shouldn't be all that surprised.
Everyone had expected Duff to fall in love with some rocker chick. As a matter of fact, he'd almost convinced himself he was in love with a rocker chick. But when y/n entered the picture, Mandy became the last thing on Duff's mind.
He'd told himself y/n wasn't his type, but she'd managed to prove him wrong without even trying. And now he was sitting on his bedroom floor with y/n sprawled on her stomach across from him.
T-shirt scraps were strewn across the room, and the already filthy carpet had been stained with acrylic paint. Duff huffed, once again throwing a botched homemade Guns N Roses shirt towards the pile of other botched shirts.
Why the band had made him do the "merch"...he didn't know. He looked over at y/n, smiling when he saw her head down and her little hands working away at ideas for alternative GNR logos.
"How's it goin, babes?" Duff countered. Y/n looked up at him, smiling enthusiastically as she showed him a notebook page filled with Care Bears drawings.
Duff's smile faltered, and he chuckled as he took his girlfriends' stack of paper from her, examining the drawings.
"Care Bears, huh?"
"Uh, yeah?" Y/n answered, looking at him like it was obvious she would be drawing Guns N Roses themed Carebears. Duff smirked, looking at the little GNR symbol on its tummy and the chain around its neck that was identical to his.
"These are great, really! But uh..." Duff hesitated, hoping what he was gonna say next wouldn't piss y/n off.
"But what?"
"Babes, Carebears isn't exactly the um, GNR vibe ya know? I mean these are absolutely amazing but it's just not the look we're going for."
The bassist gave his girlfriend an apologetic smile, growing worried about the blank and slightly pissed off looks she was giving him.
"Care Bears is metal."
That was the only thing y/n retaliated with. And when Duff opened his mouth to gently argue with her, she climbed into his lap and straddled him, digging her heels into his lower back and pressing her tiny index finger to his lips.
"Care Bears is metal."
Duff just stared at her, trying not to laugh as he studied her intense gaze. The bassist nodded, agreeing wholeheartedly before quickly and swiftly grabbing y/n's waist and flipping her so she was laying on her back and he was hovering over her.
"Well, you're a Care Bear and you're pretty metal so I guess I gotta agree with you." Y/n furrowed her brow, flicking his shoulder as she glared playfully up at him.
"Am not!"
"You are too, sunshine. My own personal Care Bear."
Y/n huffed, pouting up at Duff as he chuckled and leaned down to kiss her nick, leaving a light pink hickey. Y/n giggled, squirming under him as he did so.
Their little moment was interrupted however, when Axl decided to barge in without knocking.
"Hey Duff do you know where Izzy left my cig - OH MY FUCKING GOD EW LOCK THE DAMN DOOR NEXT TIME!"
The two looked at him, laughing and giggling as the vocalist slapped his hand over his eyes and scrambled back down the hall. They were still fully clothed, and the man was still dramatic as hell.
Duff looked back down to see y/n giggling up at him, blushing furiously. The freckles dusting her nose/cheeks were a shade darker under the red tinting her skin and only turned darker when he pressed a little kiss to the tip of her nose.
"See, Blushy Baby? You're even turning the same color as Cheer Bear...kinda."
"AM NOT"
"Ha! Are too!"
"Shut up."
