Author's note:
This story is inspired by the movie “Just My Luck” starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. However, it wouldn't entirely follow the things that happened in the film, though there are some parts that were from it.
On with the story …
“Momo, why did you leave?” Y/n comes to Momo
A car in full speed is heading to the hotel's driveway, also where Momo and Y/n are standing. It was raining earlier so there are water from the ground and the car drove into there and it almost splashed onto Y/n and Momo when someone covered them with an umbrella
Of course, the two ladies were shocked by it
“Be careful there” the person who covered them was Dahyun
“Did I just get lucky?” Y/n asked herself
As someone who lived her whole life being unlucky, being splashed on was no surprise to Y/n. But tonight, she got lucky, did she?
Y/n puts back her attention to Momo
“Answer me, Momo. Why did you leave? Are you going somewhere?” Y/n asked
“I feel suffocated, I hate parties.. I hate crowded people” Momo said
“Do you want to go home now? I can talk to the director” Y/n said
“No, it's okay. I'll just stay here for a while then come back inside” Momo slightly smiled
“Uh.. the reason why I came here is to let you know that Jihyo and Sana are now together..” Dahyun said
“You'll be fine, you sure?” Y/n asked
“I am so get inside” Momo chuckles
Y/n went inside the ballroom to look for the mystery girl whom she just shared a kiss with, which is Tzuyu. She looked around but she couldn't find where Y/n left her
Meanwhile …
At the V.I.P. lounge, Sana and Jihyo are awkwardly sitting beside each other. Jihyo sees a beer bottle on the table, she opens it and took a sip but she didn't liked its taste
“That's why cheap beer is top tier, like what the heck is this?” Jihyo said
“Yah, how will people get convinced that we're a thing if we're looking like this?” Sana asked
“Yah don't ‘yah’ me” Jihyo frowns
“So what? We're the same age”
“But my mind is more advanced and mature than yours” Jihyo said
“What did you just say-” Sana wasn't able to finish her sentence when Nayeon walk pass by them and gave them a glare
Sana took a deep breath and calmed herself down
“So.. Jihyo-ssi, from what school you came from?” Sana fakely smiled
“Oh cut with that small talks, I'm not up for that” Jihyo groans
“Then what do you want us to talk about, genius? We're supposed to be a ‘happy couple’” Sana said
“Cut to the chase. Let's talk about how we came to this, your member did some trouble. You're the leader, you should've known better”
“FYI, dating someone is not a bad thing. What kind of mindset do you have? You're a boomer-coded for that statement” Sana said
“I never said it's the relationship but the leadership. Yes, date all you want but you should've advice Mina to be careful and you should've made sure that it won't get out of hand” Jihyo said
Sana stares at Jihyo without saying anything, she wants to punch Jihyo's ‘annoying’ face but she's trying to keep her cool. While Jihyo is purposely saying those words hoping it'll hit Sana’s nerve and by what's happening, it's really hitting
Meanwhile …
Dahyun and Tzuyu hid somewhere so their photos would be believable that they ‘secretly’ took it
“Is it just me or they don't look like they are in good condition?” Dahyun asked
“It doesn't matter. What matters is getting a picture of them, let's just hope they'll smile for a second and we'll take it. It's not like you can hear pictures” Tzuyu turns on her digital camera
“What is wrong with this?” Tzuyu mumbles
“What's up?” Dahyun looks at her
“The battery's dead” Tzuyu said
“Woah.. first your gown and now this? I think your luckyness has an expiration” Dahyun laughs
Then it struck her, what the fortune teller had told her earlier. Without thinking twice Tzuyu stands up from her position and runs downstairs
“Hey, where are you going?” Dahyun yelled but Tzuyu continues to come down
She reached the spot where the tent was but it wasn't there anymore then Tzuyu sees the woman leaving. She fastly runs after the woman who just crossed the road then she stopped walking and turned around at Tzuyu, She smiled at Tzuyu
Then a car drove to her front and the water splashed on her gown and face, people all saw it. The car drove away but the lady was long gone
Next day …
Tzuyu already got home in the morning because of how busy the masquerade ball was all night. What does she look like at the moment? A mess
Her makeup is tarnished, her expensive gown ripped with a mud stain, and very messy hair. Her usual bright smile that people often see are long gone by the events that happened last night. She gets out of the elevator and saw a lot of workers on floor, Tzuyu walks to the hallway when she saw the men outside of her apartment
“Oh my god, what happened?!”
“Is this your apartment?” The man asked
“Yes, what happened?” Tzuyu asked, the man opened the door
The ceiling was destroyed, water is pouring like a waterfall above. The workers are smashing the walls with a sledgehammer and there's a flood in her apartment that is about 2 feet deep
“There was a flood in your apartment. The toilet upstairs exploded.. and here's the result”
“Flood? In my 25th floor apartment, there's a flood?” Tzuyu mumbles in disbelief
‘This is unbelievable!’ Tzuyu thought
How can unfortunate events keep on happening one by one? This isn't what it's supposed to be! That's practically what is running on Tzuyu's mind
“My furniture?! My branded clothes?! My bags?! My shoes?! My macbook?!”
“If you're looking for your stuffs, here it is” the man handed a box at Tzuyu
“Is this all?” Tzuyu asked
“If you want to have more then feel free to swim on the flood, it's your choice” he sarcastically said
Meanwhile …
“Since the shoot is canceled, you guys are free for the day” Y/n is busy with some work stuff
“Something is different with you today…” Momo looks at Y/n, observing her
“Yeah, I feel it too” Sana agrees
“Your face is glowing” Mina said
“What? Was my face hideous before?” Y/n asked
“It never was but you look really different.. in a better way” Momo said
“You guys are weird. Since I'm free then I'll leave now and don't do any disaster while I'm gone”
“How can we? You're bringing all the disaster with you”
Some time …
At the apartment’s rooftop, Y/n is seated on the bench and with a sandwich as she watches the busy city. Ryujin then comes to her
“Hi, unnie!” Ryujin greeted
“Hey, want one?” Y/n offered, Ryujin nods
Y/n divided the sandwich into two and gave the one to Ryujin
“What’s on your mind, unnie?” Ryujin asked
“I'm just worried about the group, they're facing a scandal and I'm afraid that it might ruin them” Y/n said
“Don't be worried, unnie! Don't you know, their debut is trending?”
“Huh?” Y/n asked in confusion
“Aw man, you wouldn't know if I didn't tell you? Here, come watch this” Ryujin took out her phone and searched up MISAMO on YouTube then clicked their debut song
It's been a year since their debut and they still haven't got a comeback yet. Why? Their debut didn't sold much, reason to why the company doesn't have enough budget for a comeback as they're just a new company
“What the.. 25M views? What's happening right now?” Y/n asked in disbelief
“That's like half of South Korea, congrats, unnie. Your hard work has paid off!” Ryujin smiled
Next day …
MISAMO, Y/n, and director Park gathered at the company building
“We broke the news today and look what happened! I knew what I had in mind was a good one!” He proudly said
“Does that mean I get to keep my relationship, director?” Mina nervously asked
“To be honest, Mina. I was mad, you broke the rules but since it came out nice then you're all forgiven. Just make sure that you and your girlfriend will be extremely low key, understand?”
“Yes, director. Thank you” Mina bows
Some time …
Y/n was walking on the street when she passed by the instrument shop and saw from the display that the keyboard was on 70% off sale. The same keyboard that was so expensive that all she could do is stare and hope that one day, it'll be hers
“Oh my god.. oh my god!!” Y/n excitedly runs inside the shop where the owner is at the counter
“Here you are again, Y/n” he said
“Is it true?! It's on sale?!” Y/n asked in excitement
“It is. It's been years, are you gonna buy it now?” He asked
“Of course! Why would I waste this opportunity?!”
That night …
Y/n is practicing on the keyboard when she hears a knock, she went to open the door and it's Ryujin
“What?! You finally were able to buy it?!” Ryujin runs to the keyboard
“Yes, it was on sale”
“Then that means you'll play again!” Ryujin said
“Yeah” Y/n sits on the chair
“I think I'm getting lucky since yesterday. Weird, right?”
“But aren't we losers? That's why we're friends! But if that's true then that means I'm left out in the dark alone” Ryujin looked down
“Hey.. cheer up, forget what I said” Y/n chuckles
Meanwhile …
Tzuyu will be staying at Dahyun's apartment for the meantime because of her apartment being on flood
“Are you sure it's okay for me to stay here?” Tzuyu asked
“Yeah, I'm the one who's not sure about you. Are you okay staying here? I mean your apartment is way bigger than this, I don't think you'll be able to adjust”
“No, it's alright. I'm desperate for a roof right now..”
“Then dry your hair, I'll order us pizza” Dahyun said
Tzuyu walks inside the bathroom, the hair dryer is in the sink. She turns it on and started drying her hair and noticed something in her face while facing the mirror
“OH MY GOD!” Tzuyu shouts in shock
“Why?! What's wrong?!” Dahyun comes to the bathroom in panic
“I have a zit!” Tzuyu exclaimed, Dahyun sighs in relief
“Oh my god, tzu! It happens to everyone, you scared me to death!” Dahyun said
“Hello? I never had any zit even in my teenage years!”
“Then lucky you, you had it late” Dahyun comes to the bed and sits down
While Tzuyu has her full attention on her zit, she doesn't realize that the dryer sucked her hair, she tries to pull the dryer until it hits the mirror. Tzuyu's in a panic, she drops the dryer to the bathtub and then turns on the faucet. There the magic happened, the dryer was electrocuted and then all the lights turned off
“Tzuyu!!” Dahyun shouts knowing Tzuyu is responsible for the light going out
Next day …
They went to visit the flower shop Chaeyoung works at. While they're talking at the table, a new face was seen by them
“Hey, Chae.. who is this?” Momo whispers
“Oh that's Jeongyeon-unnie, she's the granddaughter of the owner of this shop” Chaeyoung said
“She's pretty” Sana said
“Jeongyeon-unnie!” Chaeyoung called her
The lady named Jeongyeon looked at the girls, Chaeyoung signals her to come to them so she did
“Jeongyeon-unnie, I want you to meet my friends. Momo-unnie, Sana-unnie, Y/n-unnie, and my girl, Mina'' Chaeyoung said
“Hey, nice to meet you” Sana smiled
“Nice to meet you too, I'm a big fan” Jeongyeon said
“Don't lie to make us feel better, no one listens to us” Sana chuckles
“No, I mean it” Jeongyeon smiled
Jeongyeon's gaze met Y/n who is just staring at her
“Hey”
“Hi?” confused Y/n asked
“Excuse me?” A customer then comes inside the store
“Be right back!” Jeongyeon comes to the customer
“She's totally into you” Sana whispers
“Huh? Why me? There's nothing to notice about me..” Y/n shyly said
Why would Y/n believe it? No one paid attention to her for as long as she can remember. How can Jeongyeon be into her? Jeongyeon is a one attractive woman, there's a lot more people out there deserving than Y/n
“I think you're over exaggerating, unnie” Chaeyoung said
“Lucky you. I wish I'll get a girl soon too” Momo sighs
Meanwhile …
“You forgot your box at the doorstep” Dahyun gave the box to Tzuyu
“Thanks, I'm gonna sort them out” Tzuyu said without any energy
“Hey.. cheer up, okay? You'll be okay soon” Dahyun said
“I hope so” Tzuyu walks to the couch when the stuffs in the box dropped to the floor because the box’s bottom is wet
“Ah!! What's wrong with me?!!” Tzuyu yelled in frustration, Dahyun comes to her
“What’s happening to me?! I can't live like this any longer! Everything I do or touch turns into crap!”
“Okay, tzu.. relax..” Dahyun grabbed both of her hands
“For some reason, the fates have dealt you a lousy hand.. but the wheel always spins back. Am I right?” Dahyun smiled then Tzuyu remembered the fortune teller she met that night
All of the unfortunate events happened after she talked to the woman. The fortune teller must've done something at her and Tzuyu must meet her soon as possible or else more disaster will come
