I'd sat up all night, watching my baby lay in the empty crib next to me.
She's so beautiful.
My Melody 💞
Earlier I disabled all my social media accounts.
I'm done with social media.
I also changed my number .
It's time for a fresh start.
I'm thinking about moving out of Atlanta
and maybe going somewhere like California or I always wanted to try living somewhere like the Bahamas.
I want a new life. I want Melody to grow up having a normal life.
And I'm gonna do everything in my power to ensure my baby has a great life.

The room door sprung open, snapping Ella out her thoughts about a new future.
A cream colored nurse with blonde hair , wearing pink scrubs walked in.
"Hello there new mommy, How ya feeling ?".
She had a sort of country accent.
He voice felt really warming. It would kinda remind you of a sweet grandma.
"Oh Hi! I'm okay, still in alittle pain". Ella said with a smile.
"Aww I'm sorry to hear that. Us women are really incredible. We go through a lot to bring life into this world".
The nurse said in a sweet tone.
"Yep but I can tell you, in the end it's all worth it".
"It sure is". The nurse said smiling, looking over at baby Melody.
Who was now awake.
"Isn't she just the cutest thing". She smiled.
"Oh I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Nurse Hellen, your champion nurse".
"You must be Ella and baby Melody".
"Yes we are, it's nice to meet you".
"Same for you! I figure you haven't gotten any sleep"
"Yeah I haven't. Ive really been up all night thinking."
"Yep, that new mommy affect".
"I'm here to take Melody for her hearing and sight test. It should only take about 10 minutes".
"Oh okayy"
Hellen picked up Melody as she started making her cute baby noises.
She brought her over to Ella who took Melody in her arms.
She started to snuggle and kiss all over her face.
"I know you're hearing and seeing is perfect and I love youu".
Ella mumbled into Melody's chubby cheeks.
Ella kissed her face a few more times then carefully handed her over to Hellen.
"So no needles just quick examinations" Nurse Hellen assured her.
"You should get in a quick nap. If you're sleeping when we get back I'll just put her down for one too".
"Thank you so much". Ella smiled at the sweet nurse.
"Cmon Melody, let's let mommy get some sleep".
Hellen baby-talked to Melody as they slowly exited the room.

5 minutes in, Ella's eyes started to feel heavy.
As soon as she started to drift off...
The door swung open.
"Von?".
"Wsp mama".

Minutes later ..
"Stop allat cryin ma. You ain pregnant no mo. You gotta start bein a real nigga".
"I been a real nigga". Ella laughed while wiping her eyes.
"I missed you shordy".
Von said softening his voice.
"No you didn't. You never even once tried to check In on me".
"I gave birth without you".
Ella sniffed and looked up, trying to stop from crying.
"Man, I wanted too. I knew I wasn't good for you Ma, I had to work on myself".
"And I ain know you was in labor. That's my fault"
"Oh well while you was working on yourself everybody was putting me through hell". Ella pouted.
"I know. I can't een explain how sorry I am. I shoulda been thea for you pretty ma".
Von reached over to wipe the tears off her face.
"It ain't gon be nun like before. Imma be the best father to ma baby, and hopefully down tha line we could start ova again".
"Imma take care of you and baby girl. Ain't no mo bullshit, im changed Ella".
"And imma show you I ain the same bitch nigga—well nawl I ain't neva been no bitch .
Imma show you Ian the same nigga as before."
Von said sincerely.
"You promise?"
"I promise baby".
"And don't worry bout nunnedet shit, all them mfs that did you back already delt wit".
"What do you mean ?"
"Don't worry bout that right now"
"But aye, fuck this nurse at wit ma baby ? She takin too long".
Just as Von said that, the door swung open.
This time it was a different nurse.
A black lady wearing blue scrubs.
"Hi, sorry to into you guys, I'm nurse peaches and I'm here to take Melody for her hearing and sight test".
"Oh the other nurse, Nurse Hellen, already took her a few minutes ago".
The nurse awkwardly chuckled.
"Oh that's impossible , im the only nurse on call tonight".
"Also we don't have a nurse Hellen."
