Author's Pov :
Chanyeol woke up when harsh rain started to hit the windows of the car. Blinking twice he wiped the remaining sleep off his eyes.
Huge thick trees surrounded the car, as it moved forward leaving the main road and entering the holy grounds of the Capital City, Aurora.
The fog was less dense in this part of the forest but the rain made it difficult to look ahead. The only thing which was visible were the two huge golden gates that reached the sky.
Aurora was a magical dreamland, a supernatural world where humans don't get that privilege to enter.
The forest that surrounds Aurora was also like a maze where humans would never reach Aurora even if they used any type of compass or gps.
Aurora has always been hidden from human eyes and only the people with supernatural abilities can enter it.
The car stopped just before the gates as two guards made their way towards them.
The warrior at the driver seat handed them a small circle shaped Medallion with a dragon carved in the centre. It was 2 inches thick an black in colour with gold highlights.
Chanyeol watched as the Guards saluted towards him before returning the medallion. Every pack has one of their own, with the Mystic Flame pack representing a Dragon.
The gates opened with a soft clang of metal letting their Car pass through. A narrow road led towards the City of Aurora.
People of Aurora have known Chanyeol since he graduated from the "Shadow Myst Academy" when he was sixteen years of age. He has proven his Alpha of Alpha title here when he defeated the last lycan heir 9 years ago.
It was shocking as the Lycans were strong beings and even more powerful than the werewolves. Their blood is known to be from a royal military line so Lycans are treated more like high Ranking Commanders.
Werewolves tend to be careful of their race even though Lycans are less in numbers that being their disadvantage but the powers they have are far superior than any werewolf.
So when Chanyeol defeated their heir it gained him his title as well as fear and respect from the people not just from Aurora but also from the Mystic Forest.
Letting out a sigh, Chanyeol leaned against the seat. He smiled softly as people peeked at him through their windows even though rain might have ruined their view. He was glad that because of the weather they couldn't crowd over the Car. He was already late for the meeting.
As the Car moved forward, the road became wider, houses were replaced by patches of wildflowers and mountains.
There are all types of Flowers with different colours covering both sides of the road gracefully blanketing the whole area with fresh and sweet aroma.
The road leads them towards a valley which is surrounded by huge peaks which disappear among the clouds. Between those peaks were three huge castles.
A majestic castle known as "Arcane Fortress" stood in between four crystal pillars surrounding it. On the front two pillars there was a howling wolf with sharp fang-like eyes. On the left sat a young smug looking Elf with pointy ears. The other two behind have a short giggling Fairy, and a tall witch covered in a knee length cloak and top of her head sat a pointy hat , holding a long wand.
These statues resemble the first ever guardians of the Mist. They were strong and powerful and were known to be best of friends.
They are the ones who founded Aurora but decades have past, the place remained the same however the peace they created vanished through years.
Towards the right of Arcane Fortress was a bridge that led to another majestic Castle made of white marble stone, also known as the "Shadow Myst Academy" from where Chanyeol graduated.
Towards the left was a castle which was made of Red stone. Compared to the two Castles this one was a highly secured area. They say once you enter this place you will only return after being dead. This castle was known as the "Dreadfort stronghold" ,a Dungeon where criminals are held and punished. This place is strictly under the Lycans and only the elder Werewolves have the authority to command them.
A woman adorned in full white robe greets them with an Umbrella in her hand as she covers Chanyeol with it as he steps out of the Car.
The security all over Aurora has gotten stricter and stronger after the attack by the Vampire's.
Chanyeol is led through the Long corridors and Hallways before he is given a room of his own. Before he could enter the room he heard sounds of metal clanging against each other.
Taking a peak outside he roamed
his eyes around to halt at a small figure surrounding by ten warriors. To find a small child in shackles made Chanyeol frozen in place. The iron shackles placed on his legs clanked against the ground as he walked with steady steps.
Chanyeol's shoulder slumped tensly as soon as the child looked up straight towards him. His lips pulled into a thin line, as he gave Chanyeol a single lazy glance before looking away.
Chanyeol blankly stood there as if he didn't know how he should react to that. He was sure Aurora has never done so much to have a child walk in shackles.
"That kid?" He asked the woman who brought him here. Her dark gaze met Chanyeol before turning to look at the kid who was being taken.
A frown appeared on her lips as she realised whom Chanyeol was asking about. "Oh, A few hours ago, the wood creek pack was wiped out. This Vampire kid was found covered in blood and unconscious at the borders. It's being said that he was the culprit behind the massacre"
Chanyeol's brows furrowed at her words. "That child is barely nine. Do everyone really believe that he can kill a pack which has more than five hundred people?
The woman silently bowed to him, "I can't give you a clear answer to that Alpha as he is yet to be proven innocent"
Before Chanyeol could ask further, the woman handed him a yellow colour pastry wrapped in a decorative paper.
"The children at Orphanage has requested me to hand this over to you. They have prepared this to welcome you"
Chanyeol took the pastry before taking a bite out of it. It was sweet with the taste of honey entering his taste buds.
The woman smiled politely before bowing towards him. "The meeting was postponed until late tonight. So please have a rest. We will take our leave now"
The woman and her guards left him there before his own guards stood there to wait for his orders.
Chanyeol folded the decorative wrapper before tucking it inside his side pocket.
Right now he was more worried about that Kid. Dreadfort stronghold wasn't a simple dungeon. And in there,a child won't even survive for a day. Chanyeol wasn't even done with his previous problems and now he was facing another dilemma again.
He didn't enter his room instead turned left before making his way down the corridor. He must take a look at that kid.
Ignoring the looks he got on his way, he found the head warrior speaking to the other warriors surrounding the kid. As Chanyeol was closer he could smell blood as if someone has just taken a bath in it. Might be the kid who was shackled.
Chanyeol walked towards them, when the head warrior seemed to hear his footsteps and turned to salute him.
"Alpha Chanyeol, is there something you need?" He was straight forward and Chanyeol was glad he asked him directly.
"Sorry to trouble you with this Head Warrior, Cane" he smiled at the head warrior who looked at him with surprise. "Can I take a look at that kid?I won't take too much of your time"
He calmly put forth his words as he doesn't want everyone to be alarmed at his sudden appearance.
The head warrior glanced at the kid before stepping aside. "It's no trouble Alpha Chanyeol but the kid is not in a presentable condition, so I suggest to keep a bit of distance"
Chanyeol ignored the second sentence before kneeling on the ground. He can now see the kid more clearly.
He was small, barely above Chanyeol Waist. Crimson eyes, hauntingly old for such a youthful face now stared at Chanyeol without a blink. Strands of unkempt, dark hair fall across his forehead, a stark contrast to the pallor of his skin. His white clothes were covered in blood and some parts of them were ripped and torned. His fingers were painted black in colour and even his eyes were lined with black eye liner.
Chanyeol has this nagging feeling in his heart as he stare at the child. No one have ever looked so calm being tied like that. Even the name Dreadfort stronghold was enough to scare anyone regardless of age.
"It's an honour to finally meet you Alpha Chanyeol" As the shackled vampire child meet his gaze, a hoarse voice, worn and weathered, escapes his parched lips.
The child stood with an unwavering composure, his expression guarded, revealing little of the emotions that surely brewed beneath the surface. Despite the turmoil surrounding him, there was a quiet strength in his demeanour, a stoicism that spoke volumes in silence.
Chanyeol couldn't help but be shocked to hear those words. He doesn't know the child but the kid knows him.
"You know me?" he can feel the atmosphere tensed up as soon as the child spoke up.
Chanyeol let his own guard up but the kid looks barely taken aback. He just doesn't seem to care what weight lies in his words.
"I don't...", The vampire child's worn face, marked by shadows of past struggles, twists into a sly and suspicious smile. "You are quiet popular"
His crimson eyes, tinged with both curiosity and a hint of mischief, lock onto Chanyeol, seemingly indifferent to the warriors surrounding him.
The smile doesn't reach his eyes; instead, it plays upon his lips with an enigmatic quality, as if he holds secrets only he comprehends.
The unsettling feeling Chanyeol was talking about rose up again. The kid's eyes were set on him or he could say they were looking through him. It was making him feel uncomfortable but he had to stay composed.
"Were you involved in the Massacre?" he finally asked what he came for.
The warriors, ignored and seemingly inconsequential, become mere backdrop to the unspoken exchange unfolding between the vampire kid and Chanyeol.
Chanyeol doesn't care at the moment. He can feel the glares the child was receiving but he continued.
"Such a small child like you killing a pack of five hundred people on his own is quiet a big claim you know"
Alpha Chanyeol didn't hide his curiousity and suspicions.
His only reason to come here was to know why the child isn't making a fuss about being held accountable for something he didn't do. If Chanyeol didn't knew about those Hybrids he might not have come directly to the child. This kid was acting so calm that it looked quiet suspicious.
The kid takes a side glance at the warriors before he lazily dragged his feet forward, his shackles around the legs scarping against the ground as he stared at Chanyeol with a small lift of his lips.
"I am glad at least one of you isn't dumb" his voice sarcastic as he answered, "The Alpha wench who found me didn't listen to me and neither does any of your old hags believed what I said. I am too lazy to argue with walls so here I am"
The Head Warrior who had remained silent till now couldn't help but raise his voice. "I am sorry to interrupt Alpha Chanyeol but you should not trust him"
Chanyeol smiled as the kid's ignorant nature reminded him of someone. Raising his hand he placed it over the kid's head startling everyone around them even the kid whose whole body stiffened at the contact.
How can a werewolf treat a Vampire kindly? It was truly a rare sight to see. Not just the warriors but the people around also stopped walking and stared at the scene with shock and surprise.
The child covered in blood was a disgusting sight and even looking at him was making few people uncomfortable. But here Alpha Chanyeol was caressing the bloodied child's head like he wasn't a Vampire.
"Language young man. You should be more respectful towards the elders" his words snapped the kid out of his haze.
The kid shrugged before looking away. "I am a Vampire, I am not obliged to show respect to werewolves"
Chanyeol chuckled loudly as he stared at the kid with an amused smile. He was now talking more like Baekhyun.
"You are lucky, we have a witness like myself. Won't you be nice to me for getting you out of this boring situation?" He playfully winked at the guy after wishpering those words.
Straightening himself Chanyeol turned to look at the Head Warrior. "I need to meet the Head Elder. Please Excuse me"
The kid blinked at Chanyeol before shrugging and moving ahead. He isn't powerless but he doesn't know the horrors of Dreadfort either. So his behaviour doesn't seem to surprise anyone who knew what the prison actually holds. Newcomers are always surprised later on.
Chanyeol smile dropped as soon as the kid was taken away. He continued to walk in the opposite direction his wolf trying to soothe his growing agitation.
The grey eyes turned dark and angry as he marched towards the Head Elder's Office.
The warriors stationed outside the door looked taken aback at his gloomy appearance before bowing to him.
"Inform the head Elder that I need an audience with him. This is urgent"
The warrior gulped as he knocked on the door before going inside. There was shuffling and murmuring coming from inside before the warrior returned.
He opened the door for Chanyeol who walked inside and wasn't at all surprised to found a group of people inside.
The office was wide with crystal walls surrounding at all sides. Even though the walls were made of crystal they were not see through. The fort was design as such by the Guardians of Aurora a long time ago.
A wide round table sat in the middle which was floating in air and the chair on which the elder sat was just a normal wodden chair. There were different documents laying on the table while books occupied the floor.
In the left corner there was a communication Orb which is only used to contact the Werewolves outside the Country. On the right was a shelf with tons of thick books arranged in Alphabetical order.
There was complete silence in the room as soon as Chanyeol entered he didn't expect another problem.
Chanyeol's gaze shifted towards the boy standing before the Elder, he was the younger brother of beta of Wood Creak Pack. Chanyeol has only seen this boy around like two times. All those times being in the meeting beside his Alpha and his beta brother.
His face looked pale and ashen as if he has came back to life after dying. Chanyeol observed the man carefully, but the boy only had his eyes on the Head Elder.
"Head Elder, I am not making up things. That kid isn't the one who massacred my pack. You have to find those two people! I saw them with my own eyes" his voice rose to a high volume before tears flowed out of his eyes.
The Head Elder sighed as he leaned forward. "The kid was found outside the border of your pack. He might be their Ally. No one beside him was found there. You should think more carefully before saying something ChanWoo"
Beta ChanWoo's whole body was trembling. "One of them killed my brother and my mate right in front of me! I don't care about the kid just catch those two men! Please Head Elder I beg you! You need to give justice to my pack!"
Chanyeol who understood the whole situation found the situation quiet confusing.
The boy was the only one left alive, he even knows that the one who massacred his pack were the Hybrids not the kid yet the Head Elder seemed to be ignorant about it.
"We will look into the matter. Please refrain from creating more chaos Chanwoo. You are still a boy, you have to find a new pack first or else you have to go rouge. Let's discuss this later when you are more calm"
"But....!"
"I agree with Chanwoo" Chanyeol took that moment to speak up.
The elder might ignore Chanwoo who was just a broken boy who had no pack behind him now but he can't ignore Chanyeol who was the Alpha and higher in both name and fame than Chanwoo.
The Head Elder seems startled at the interuption. Chanwoo too stopped shaking before turning to regard Chanyeol with big wide eyes.
"What do you mean by that Alpha Chanyeol? Please say it clearly"
Chanyeol has never seen the Head Elder being so stiff. This man was always respectful towards him and even spoke carefully to him as if he was walking on a thin ice.
Now he seemed more blunt and a hint of hostility sparked in those eyes. Chanyeol smirked internally. He was sure the Head Elder was reacting this way towards him because when the Vampire attacked the Grand Elder, they must have demanded to hand over Alpha Chanyeol.
The Head Elder must think that Chanyeol was the reason for the Vampire's to become so bold and violent suddenly.
"I mean to say when I was heading towards the Capital I saw two men outside the Wood Creek Pack. They look suspicious so I followed them only to hear from their own mouths that they killed the whole pack" he waited for them to ask any questions but so far they seem to hear him out without wanting to interrupt so Chanyeol continued. "I followed them but as they were of unknown origins I found it too risky to reveal myself in front of them. One thing was clear if they can massacre a big pack like Wood Creek Pack on their own then they were dangerous and threatening to other packs"
Chanwoo was the first one to speak as he faced the Head Elder. "See, i was speaking the truth! There were two people and they must be caught before another pack suffers the same fate as me!"
"Alpha Chanyeol I can agree about those two people but what if thee kid was their Ally?" The head Elder Coughed as he glanced at him. "Maybe Chanwoo just didn't see him? Is there any proof that can prove the kid was innocent?"
Chanyeol wants to facepalm. How is he surrounded by dumb people. "His clothes have blood on them. You all can check if the DNA matches to anyone from Wood Creek Pack"
The Head Alpha nodded before he took out a clean white paper and writing down something before closing it and placing a seal on it.
A warrior walked inside before the Head Elder handed him the letter "Take it to the Dreadfort and make sure they carry on the command. You may leave"
Chanwoo left not long ago after the warrior left. He was still looking Haggard as he walked out to meet with the healers. He bowed towards Chanyeol before bidding them goodbye.
Chanyeol too took his leave. He has nothing else to talk beside whatever drama was going to happen was in the meeting evening when the Vampire's would crash it offcourse.
He took in view as he walked. The rain has calmed down only leaving the pitter pattern behind. The sun was peaking through the grey clouds illuminating the corridors in golden light.
He has not encountered the other Alpha's or Betas since he has arrived. It's not odd but he was glad he isn't facing any of them right now.
As soon as he entered his room he entered the shower. He really needs to relax and release some pent up stress.
He also wondered if Sehun and Kyungsoo were alright. He missed them.
Closing his eyes he leaned against the wall before closing his eyes. The day was quiet eventful. It was a never ending chain of problems.
As he looked outside, the trees looked greener than last year when he arrived here. The forest was wide enough to cover a whole city and there was time when Chanyeol had taken long runs in the forest.
Now the only thing Chanyeol remembers about the forest was his encounters with the master of the Mysterious cold blue eyes.
Lord Byun Baekhyun what a elegant man. He looks younger than Chanyeol but the Alpha was aware that the Vampire was not young at all. Regardless of his age he was one of the most breathtaking man he has ever seen.
Chanyeol has seen many good-looking men. There was Sehun, Kyungsoo, suho, and he himself was being called as a god like being yet he was drawn to the charm that Baekhyun seem to carry around him.
The Blood stone shined brighter as the sunlight fell on it. The rays making it look redder an brighter.
He caressed the stone as it stay pressed against his collar bone. He smiled at the thought of the Vampire.
Maybe he should go visit the Library later. He may find the answers about the Mysteries he is yearning to know.
Drapping a towel against his waist Chanyeol walked out. The tattoo on his body looked refined and sharp as it stood out on his snow white skin.
He got ready and left the room to go to the Library. It was the second largest Library in the world and contain so many books like Chanyeol might find everything he desired.
It was located in the Furthest part of the Arcane fortress. As Chanyeol came downstairs he found many young ladies gossiping and laughing. When he was young he used to wonder if his mate was among them but he was disappointed and shattered to find out that his mate wasn't in Aurora either.
He found the big doors of the Library but before he could enter inside something hard crashed into him. The wall behind him shattered before he was thrown with the weight that was pressed against him.
When Chanyeol finally acknowledged that he was thrown out he blinked as pain erupted through his body. He might have broken few bones. Blood trickled from between his lips as a metalic taste of it spread through his mouth. He was wounded and the reason was just standing above him watching him through hooded eyes under that dark cloak.
A smug grin spread accross the man's face as he looked down upon Chanyeol. His eyes gleamed with satisfaction and relishing the moment of watching Chanyeol under his feet.
Chanyeol was confused. Weren't the Vampire's coming in the Evening. What was this all about attacking me out of nowhere?! What the hell!
Chanyeol could hear footsteps approaching, and through his hazy vision he can see the guards running towards him.
Chanyeol knew something was wrong as soon as he couldn't even notice someone crashing into him. The force was so brutal that the pain was the only thing he felt.
"Trust and loyalty are very important things. You made the mistake of trusting the people here who are too foolish to believe outsiders than their own people" the man tsked as a black hole appeared in front of them.
Holding Chanyeol's collar the man picked him up before throwing him inside before he turned towards the crystal fort, his gaze lingering on the Three men standing on top most floor of the crystal tower.
A smirk appeared on the cloaked man's face but the Head Elder didn't respond back. The cloaked man jumped in the Black hole disappearing out of everyone's sight.
