"There's actually a god?!" Luffy questioned Conis. "And he lives on an island no one is allowed to walk on?" Conis confirmed Luffy's words.
(Y/N) placed her head in her hand as she pondered aloud, "A god that doesn't walk among his children? What a stuck up."
Chopper questioned Conis more: asking her if the god, he heard old stories of, actually lives a mere island away from her. "He does," Conis continued, "I'm sure everyone noticed the big sign: 'Godland Skypiea'. This land is ruled by the almighty god Enel."
Sanji questioned god having a name while Conis began to explain that god can see and hear everything. "He keeps his all seeing eyes on everyone..." Conis eyes filled with sadness as she looked down at her plate of food, "...always."
Luffy, Usopp and Chopper started to freak out since they were being watched by a stranger without them knowing.
"God, huh?" Zoro questioned while taking a sip of water. Chopper asked if Zoro believed in god to which Zoro explained to Chopper that he has yet to see proof of a god and doesn't really care to seek proof out. He added in that he does not judge if others wish to believe in a god since it wasn't his decision to deny anyone else's beliefs.
"I respect that." (Y/N) added in, "I'm not for certain if there is a god or not, therefore I remain neutral on the matter." She supported Zoro's moral about not having a right to deny someone else's beliefs.
Sanji asked Conis if she seen Enel herself since he doesn't live too far away for her to begin with. Conis threw up her hands in defense and quickly explained that it was forbidden to go to the Upper Yard since it was their god's resting place.
Usopp started freaking out as sparkles of adventure sprung out of Luffy's face. "I'VE SEEN THAT LOOK IN YOUR EYES BEFORE!" Usopp began to shake the smiling boy by his collar. "When the lady says we can't go there because it's sacred or whatever, that's exactly what she means! We CANNOT go there!"
Luffy just continued to smile from ear to ear while claiming he understands that him and his crew aren't supposed to go there, "Come on? Do you really think I would do that?" Luffy happily munched on a loaf of bread, his adventure hungry eyes told a different story.
"Yes. Absolutely." The whole crew said in unison followed by a frustrating sigh.
The straw hat boy asked Conis if this guy is really god, then shouldn't he forgive people no matter what they do? Luffy stated that a stroll on a forbidden island doesn't even sound like that big of a deal. Conis put her hands up in defense once more, warning the crew that breaking any law by their almighty is sacrilege.
Robin spoke up, "I assume that there are some dramatic and vicious consequences to entering the Upper Yard." Her attention turned to Conis, "Do you know what they are?" Conis and her father, Pagaya, believes that if someone was to sent foot on the Upper Yard, they will not return alive.
The information stirred concern among the group since there is a chance Nami may have stumbled upon the Upper Yard by accident and without warning.
Sanji started to freak out the most, calling for Nami from the balcony. "Let's go and find her! We're wasting time!" Luffy said with a big smile on his face. Usopp began to shake him by his collar once more claiming that Luffy just wanted to satisfy his twisted craving for doing something that he wasn't supposed to do.
"To be honest," (Y/N) spoke up with a smirk. "I want to spite this god myself."
Usopp whipped his head to the (h/c) haired girl and began to cry crocodile tears. "Not you too, (Y/N)!!"
Everyone began to get ready to descend back down the large staircase to the beach's shore where they last left Nami and Merry, the last one left in Conis' home was Luffy who still stuffing his face with food.
Sanji tried to reason with the straw hat boy saying that he will regret stuffing his face while Nami is out there suffering horrific odds. Luffy just brushed Sanji off, but suddenly slowed down eating as he felt a dark aura admitting from behind him. He slowly turned around to see (Y/N) giving him the queen of demon's death stare before receiving multiple bruises and bumps on his head.
"Let's go get our Navigator!" (Y/N) smiled brightly as she dragged the slightly unconscious Luffy out by the back of his collar.
"Remind me to never get on her bad side." Pagaya whispered to Zoro who just hummed in amusement.
Once the crew arrived to the shore, they boarded the Merry. "I'm so sorry!" Pagaya called out to the remaining Straw Hats, "There is no head wind blowing. If you set sail at this moment, you will spend an extraordinary amount of time to reach the island."
The caption, sniper and cook all questioned what Pagaya meant by extraordinary, "Only the wind know's your answer." Pagaya bowed his head in disappointment.
Luffy complained that there should be a faster way to get to the Upper Yard, and before anyone could stop the boy's oh-so-brilliant idea of using the old, broken sky waiver on the White White Sea. Of course it immediately sank and so did Luffy. "So uh... does anyone want to save him?" Chopper questioned.
Zoro, Usopp and Sanji all exclaimed, "Let him drown!"
(Y/N) sighed as a large air bubble covered over Luffy's body, slowly lifting him out of the water and taking him to shore before popping causing Luffy to drop roughly on shore. "Your powers still amaze me." Robin smiled at the (h/c) haired girl.
(Y/N) shook her head, "You can thank the devil fruit for that."
Robin tilted her head in confusion yet a smile still remained on her face, "The fruit may have held the power, but it was you who inherited it." She placed her hand (Y/N)'s head. "And it's what you do with your devil's power that truly matters."
(Y/N) looked surprised at her, blush kissing her cheek from Robin's words. Before the (h/c) haired woman could respond, her attention was caught by Zoro stepping on Luffy's inflated body causing water to spray out of his mouth. (Y/N) busted out laughing, swearing she saw a rainbow appear in the mist.
Pagaya explained that he could fix the old waiver the crew found a while back since he is a dial ship engineer. Luffy was excited to hear the waiver can get repaired. Before the boy could make any more demands, Zoro stepped on his stomach causing more water to spill out of his mouth.
(Y/N), Chopper and Usopp were building cloudmen, think of snowmen but clouds instead of snow. "Beat this one, Usopp!" Chopper and (Y/N) yelled in unison as they showed off their small Chopper-inspired cloudman.
Usopp giggled as he showed of his cloud sculpture that looked honestly impressive. "That's amazing!" Chopper and (Y/N) cheered Usopp's work although Sanji was not so impressed. The cook started kicking Usopp's sculpture, yelling how he was playing around in the clouds while Nami could be in danger. Sanji turned to (Y/N) with heart eyes as he complimented the cloudman she created with Chopper, which just made Usopp angry from the unfair treatment.
Everyone stopped what they were doing while hearing the sounds of marching footsteps. "Looks like we have company." Luffy turned his crew's attention to the large staircase where a unit of soldiers came matching down.
Once they came onto shore, they started to do an unnecessary military crawl towards the crew. "Why are they...crawling?" Sanji questioned. Usopp agreed that it was weird and stated they obviously have issues.
"WHITE BERETS! HALT!" Their commander shouted as they all stood up. "Heso!" They weirdly saluted at Conis and Pagaya. The two angels and the sky fox responded with their own 'heso' which Luffy complained about because he is too accustomed to 'hello'.
"Well look who we have here! You must be the Blue Sea dwellers who have illegally entered the sovereign land of Skypiea!" The crew looked at the man confused as ever. "Prepare to have the weight of Heaven's Judgement brought down upon you!"
"Illegal entry?" Luffy questioned as he looked over to Conis and Pagaya. "What's that?" Pagaya nervously responded that it wasn't a good thing to be accused of.
The commander pulled out photos of everyone's faces explaining that Amazon, Heaven's Gate inspector, took these photos using her vision dial. Pagaya tried to defend the crew, but Sanji and Robin spoke up stating that out that the one billion extol fee was ridiculous. Usopp even mentioned that the elder didn't even try to stop them which Chopper and (Y/N) agreed.
The commander went onto say that illegal entry was only a 11th degree offense and that we only had to pay ten times the amount that it would have cost us to enter the first time. If we payed immediately, they would leave us be as mere tourist and pretend the whole thing never happened. Totaling up the charges, the White Beret's commander demanded 80 billion extol, cash only, for the whole crew to enter.
Usopp asked how much it was in berries. The commander replied that the exchange rate is ten thousand extols per berry. Usopp tried to do the math on his fingers, but failed miserably. "80 billion extols is 8 million berries, genius." Robin threw an insult at Usopp. Sanji and (Y/N) started to freaked out over the insane price, asking the commander if he realized how expensive the price was. Sanji even explained how the crew risked their lives to get to the sky island and that it's stupid how they must pay an outrageous fee just to enter their town.
The commander spoke as if we brought this upon ourselves, "If you would have paid the 800,000 berries in the first place, we won't be having this talk!" (Y/N) yelled right back at him that 800k was still to much. "This is your first warning!" The White Beret commander stated that they serve directly under god Enel, "Arguing with us will only raise the level of your crime."
"Oh what ever man." Sanji brushed him off as the crew huddled together and began discussing finding Nami and how she could be in trouble.
Luffy was prepared as ever to go out on a new adventure, but he claimed he was really wanting to find Nami. Usopp realized it was only a matter of time til the wind picks up meaning the crew would set sail, panicking he approached his captain and tried talking some sense into him. "If Nami is just taking a joy ride around the island, she could be back any minute. If we leave now, we could miss her! We don't want that now, do we?" Chopper tried to explain that she was talking way to long which caused Usopp more panic.
"Let's just go." Zoro sassed at Usopp.
"He's got a point." (Y/N) defended Usopp, "Nami could be back soon, she probably didn't even journey to this Upper Yard place. It's unknown land to her and is Nami the type to get herself into danger out of sheer curiosity?" The (h/c) haired girl crossed her arms as she looked towards her crew mates.
Usopp swiftly agreed with (Y/N), "Our best bet is to wait here for Nami, and try not to upset the White Berets." He went on to talk about how Nami's got to have a secret stash of berries somewhere.
"That's one thing I can't agree with you on, Usopp." (Y/N) pointed over at the White Beret's commander. "I don't have to do a damn thing that guy tells me to. Plus Nami doesn't need to pay him a single berry." (Y/N)'s eyes glowed with berry signs showing her true intentions. Usopp nearly strangled her for being greedy.
"Alright! What are you all blabbing about over there?!" The White Beret commander yelled over at the pirates. "And where's your eight crew mate?! I only count seven!" He threatened to add another charge of island fleeing to the crew's crimes. Usopp quickly explained that Nami was just taking Pagaya's waiver out for a quick spin and she'll be back to pay the fine. Usopp told the crew not to get in trouble as we waited for Nami to get back.
"Say Robin, (Y/N), could I treat you lovely ladies to a cup of tea." Sanji walked with the two woman to the lounging area on the sky beach.
"This is the life. Two gorgeous girls and the view, not bad!" Sanji leaned back in the cloud chair, smiling to himself. (Y/N) was enjoying her tea as she updated her log book once more. Giggling lightly to herself. "Hm? What's so funny, (Y/N)." Sanji looked over confused at the (h/c) haired girl.
"Oh it's nothing really..." She played with her pencil, spinning it around her fingers. "I'm just wondering if one day someone will find my log book and see me as a liar just like Noland." (Y/N) smiled at the logs she has already entered.
"You still have that vision dial, don't you?" Robin spoke up. "Doesn't that one take photos? Why don't you use it take records of your adventures. No one can call you a liar after that." Robin smiled at the her fellow crew mate.
(Y/N) pondered the idea. "It does sound fun, but I don't know. Do you think the group would mind if I did?"
"No one would care." Sanji butted in. "You said it yourself earlier when talking about that White Beret guy, no one can tell you what to do. A life of freedom is the only life a pirate can live." He spoke softly as he inhaled more of his cig.
A few seconds after he was finished, a flash snapped at Sanji and Robin. The sky beach in the background of the photo. As they both turned to face (Y/N) who just wore a goofy smile on her face as she held up the photo. "(Y/N)'s first photo, captured!" She giggles as she suck it in her log book. Sanji and Robin just smiled softly at the woman, both blushed ever so lightly.
Their peace was cut short as Luffy yelled at the White Beret commander, "WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT?!" The boy sounded pissed off as the commander felt threatened. Usopp quickly came over and defused the situation, dragging straw hat to go fish with him and Chopper. A few moments went by before Usopp got a bite, Chopper and Luffy helped the long nosed boy pull in a huge catch. But right when then giant fish came up and out of the water, the fishing line snapped and the large sky fish sights set on attacking Conis. Without a second thought, Zoro sprung into action and swiftly defeated the creature.
Pagaya was grateful that Zoro saved his daughter's life, but the White Beard commander was definitely frustrated. He explained that the species of sky fish is extremely rare, therefore forbidden to catch. Another crime was added to the list, jumping up to a 9th degree crime.
"I've had enough of you accusing us of committing crimes we never knew existed!" (Y/N) got up from her cloud chair and matched towards the commander. "Conis would have died if it wasn't for Zoro intercepting and defusing the situation! What kind of military are you?! You didn't even defend your own citizen!" (Y/N) was clearly pissed and was being held back by Usopp and Chopper from killing the officer where he stood.
Once (Y/N) calmed down a little, Usopp's attention turned to Luffy as he tried to eat the rare sky fish. The commander smirked as he accused the crew of an 8th degree crime for eating the endangered species. Soon enough they fish was set free into the White White Sea.
Zoro agreed with what (Y/N) said earlier and was ready to attack the Berets, right along side her. Usopp tried to cover up the threats as he stood between the two frustrated pirates and the commander. "This has become ridiculous! Your behavior is obviously an attempt at extortion. Congratulations, 7th degree crime." Usopp panicked grew as he attempted to erase their made up crimes.
"This isn't fair!" Chopper yelled out, pointing at the Beret. "He's trying to get us in trouble on purpose! The only way to not get in trouble is to go nothing!" A lightbulb popped in Usopp's head after Chopper's comment.
"Okay nap time!" Usopp, Chopper, Luffy, Zoro, and (Y/N) went straight to sleep on the comfy sky beach.
The last straw was pulled as the commander accused us of being in violation of a noise pollution statues which are 6th degree crimes. Luffy, Zoro and (Y/N) were so ready to beat up the commander, but were halted by a woman's voice. "I'M BACK!!" yelled Nami.
Sanji greeted her with heart eyes as the ginger yelled to Luffy not the start trouble. But at this point, the crew was too fired up to being nice to the accusers. "Hey! Nami! We need you to fork up 8 million berries from your stash to pay all the fines we got!" Usopp yelled at her.
"Um.. Nami is not slowing down." (Y/N) pointed out.
"She does not look happy either." Zoro added.
Nami put the waiver in full speed, "YOU'RE RIPPING US OFF!!" yelled the ginger as the waiver slammed into the commander's face. The crash set him flying meters back from where he stood.
"That felt so good to watch." (Y/N) smiled at Nami's work, placing her hands on her hips.
"Agreed." Zoro, Chopper and Luffy said in unison.
Nami thanked Pagaya for using the waiver, then turned to her crew mates. Informing that they should get going somewhere else because this Enel guy is not someone they want to mess with. Zoro assumed that what Nami just did is yet another crime, which Pagaya confirmed and informed him that it was a crime of the 5th degree.
"5th degree? That doesn't sound so bad." Usopp almost shrugged off the crime committed but Conis spoke up. She explained that Enel will send the Straw Hats to the land of the drifting clouds which isn't just another fun adventure like Luffy thought, but a death sentence.
"WAIT! WE DIE?!" Usopp, Chopper, Nami and (Y/N) yelled in unison.
Zoro pointed out how a death sentence in god's land was quite a contradiction, but Conis explained the process on how the drifting clouds work. She said that people are sent there die a slow and painful death.
Robin reminded the crew of the ship they saw falling out of the sky and how they could have been punished with the drifting clouds over 200 years ago. "A ship fell out of the sky?!" (Y/N) screamed in shock. "200 years?!" Zoro smacked the back of the women's head causing her to snap back into reality. Nami confirmed what Robin said to be true and reminded everyone that the event happened before (Y/N) joined the crew.
The White Berets started freaking out, questioning the crew for what they did to their commander. Sanji was fed up with them, but Nami told him to stand down then she started to blame what happened on her being a beginner on the waiver and that it was all an accident.
Pagaya intervened pointing out that the commander should get medical help. The Berets started to panic, then left with Pagaya back to his home to treat their commander.
"You guys saved my life, so I know you guys aren't as bad as they claim you are." Conis turned around to us. "So take this chance and get out of here!" She yelled at the Straw Hats before running off to catch up with her father.
"I think we better take her advice." Nami turned to her crew mates. She explained that when she was out on the waiver, she discovered an island full of monsters. Zoro, in annoyance, said that Nami went and did it exactly what everyone was hoping she wouldn't do while Luffy's whole face lit up with excitement. Nami yelled at Luffy for getting excited at the unwanted danger, but she decided to brush it off since the crew needed to leave right away.
Usopp brought up a good point about Conis and Pagaya could be framed as accomplices unless they leave now since the father and daughter is helping the commander. He reminded everyone that someone can't be in two places at the same time.
Everyone was making their way aboard the Merry, well, everyone except Luffy and Nami. (Y/N) looked out at the two as they argued, "I don't know what it is about our captain, but it's like he can never leave an injustice unturned." Her (e/c) eyes widened as she saw the White Berets return. "Shit they are already back!"
The Beret's commander threatened Conis and her father to be deemed accomplices if they defended the pirate crew in any way. "I find them guilty of 5th degree crimes! In the name of all mighty Enel, you are banished to drift in the clouds for eternity!" Nami tried to say it was an accident, but didn't have the energy to argue anymore. Grabbing Luffy's arm, the ginger took off running. "ARREST THEM!" The commander yelled as the Berets took aim with their arrows. "FIRE THE MILKY ARROWS!"
"Go Nami, run!" Luffy yelled as Nami released his stretched arm. Trails of clouds came out of their arrows. Using the clouds trails, the Berets where able to skate on them and attack Luffy. Luffy was forced to run on the milky clouds as the Berets attempted to attack him. After a short game of cat and mouse, Luffy used a near by palm tree to shoot up in the sky. Spinning his body quickly, kicking and punching wherever he landed. "Gum Gum FIREWORKS!!" He yelled out as he knocked out every last White Beret with one single attack.
(Y/N) eyes popped out of her sockets, "WHAT THE HELL?! THAT WAS CRAZY AWESOME!!" She cheered Luffy on, he smiled brightly at her once he landed. Blush lightly fell on his face.
Zoro asked Nami how the money situation was which she replied that the crew only had 50,000 berries left. Luffy complained at being so poor, then issued an order to his crew, "Everyone on my ship needs to be more good with money for now on!" Sanji yelled at their captain to lead by example.
"Oh." (Y/N) pulled out a huge bag out of her small back pack that had a berry sigh on it. "Here is 100,000 berries if this helps."
Everyone looked at her in sheer shock questioning how she had that much money. She obviously informs her crew that she was a former bounty hunter, reminding them the reason she went after the Straw Hats was because she was low on money. The crew questioned how 100k berries was, quote: low. Nevertheless, Nami hugged (Y/N), crying crocodile tears into her chest. Adding the 100,000 berries to the crew's total.
Usopp attempted to take credit for the defeat of the White Berets, but only Chopper believed in his false confidence. A voice was heard from the small forest that separated the town from the beach, "Sorry criminals! You have no chance of escape!" The crew turned their attention to the defeated commander of the White Berets. "You should have behaved and done what I told you to do!" He then spoke of the Upholders of Law in Skypiea, mentioning a group that is not as lenient as the White Berets. "Hahaha! Congratulations. You are considered: 2nd degree criminals. You can try to cry for mercy, hahahaha, but you will all be judged... BY THE PRIEST OF UPPER YARD, HESO!"
