...

"Lizard Wizard-"

"Stop calling me that."

"What do I call you then?" You curiously adjusted your headset. If not that, then what else? It's his username after all.

"Shuichi. Just Shuichi," he grumbled, and you could hear the TV playing in the background of his set up. It was news about the Hero Killer Stain.

"Shuichi," you slowly repeated, an audible smile on your lips. You easily killed another green slime, the mob splitting into more slimes. "I like it."

"D- Do you?" he softly hummed. He was blushing behind the screen, his fingers frozen on his RGB keyboard. He rarely gets compliments.

"Mhm," you sleepily purred.

Shuichi died. As in, he was so distracted by your sweet sleepy voice that he didn't notice a hissing creeper stalking behind him. "Fuck," he hissed, snapping out of his trance when he was met with the red death screen.

"Do you want me to get your stuff?" you asked, already heading to his coordinates.

"Please."

"Alright, but I'm logging off after this," you compromised, stifling a yawn. Your eyes briefly shut before you forced them open again. His deep voice was lulling you to sleep.

"That's fine," he calmly said. His voice was hot. You wondered if anyone's ever told him that. "When's the next time you're free?"

You sighed. "I can't play for a week. School stuff."

Shuichi frowned. "No Fortnite for a week?"

"Nope," you murmured. You could feel your head drooping against your will, desiring nothing more than to just sleep. 'What time is it?' you wondered, gkancing at the corner of your monitor. 4:21 AM. Shit, your alarm goes off in an hour and 39 minutes. No way you stayed up that late with Shuichi! "I have to go to sleep. Night, Shuichi."

"Night," he dryly replied before you left the call. No playing video games with you for a week. What's he supposed to do? Play with TombRaida? Ugh, that guy is so disagreeable. They didn't get along like he did with you.

Shuichi was a recluse – meaning he usually avoided going out. People always glared at him when he was out. It was because of his quirk, his mutant quirk.

He would never find someone he liked as much as you out in the real world, so what was the point of going out? He already had one perfect friend, you.

He spun in his chair and got up. Shuichi flopped onto his couch, directing his attention to the news unfurling on the TV.

"We advise citizens to be careful of the notorious Hero Killer Stain blah blah blah," Shuichi slightly tuned out the voices of the reporters, mainly just paying attention to the bright colors on his screen. This Stain guy – he wanted to rid the world of fake heroes.

'Hero Killer,' he thought. 'How cool...'

...

Ectoplasm pulled you outside of the classroom after taking attendance. You looked at the silver briefcase in his hand, wondering what it was. It was labeled 0. "[last-name]," he said, a proud edge to his voice. You hummed in response, waiting for him to continue. "This is your hero costume." He held out the briefcase to you.

Your eyes lit up at the mention of your hero costume. You had designed it with the help of Aina, the most fashionable person you know! You also had quite a bit of help from Kou, as she is in marketing and knew all about what made a hero look appealing. "Already? I totally thought I was gonna have to go on my internship without it," you said, your voice full of relief as you took it off his hands. The case dropped, being much heavier than you expected it to be, before you quickly supported it with another hand.

"Speaking of your internship," he curiously began, looking quite thoughtful (even though he was wearing a mask). "Do you know Miruko and Hawks personally? I was quite surprised when I got a call from both Pros requesting you." The way they spoke about you was very unprofessional.

You knew Miruko had called the school, she told you herself, but Takami too? "What did, uh, Hawks say about me?" You eagerly asked.

It was a little weird calling him by his hero name. You preferred his name name – Takami-san. You wondered if he'd ever let you call him Keigo. You hadn't kept contact with him and he still hasn't visited you yet. But still, you thought about way more than you should. Whenever a stupid bird flew against your glass window, a little hope swelled in your chest.

"Answer my question first and I'll answer yours, alright?"

"I met them when I was visiting my grandparents in Kyushu," you confessed. "Hawks was a regular at their restaurant, so we ended up talking a little here and there and I met Usa- Um, Miruko through him."

He nodded, and you've never thought he looked more intimidating than now. Ectoplasm accidentally glared at you while recalling his call with Hawks. He didn't like the young hero much. Not that he was jealous of his success at a young age or something like that, but because he was so disrespectful towards older heroes. And he didn't seem to care much about being a hero, judging from his interviews.

Ectoplasm himself was the most surprised that Nezu was giving you a chance like this. Not that you don't deserve it – you do (contrary to what Eraserhead thinks) – moreover because this has never happened. Not the General student to Heroics bit, no, that happens every once in a while – he was surprised at the fact that two high-ranking pro heroes were so interested in you, a General Education kid.

A few minutes after Nezu had made the decision to let you go on internships with Miruko, he got another call. "Hello, this is Ectoplasm of UA. What are you calling about today?"

"Hey-o! This is Hawks speaking. I'm calling to request a Gen-Ed student by the name of [last name] [first name] to intern at my agency."

Again? And it's Hawks this time! The number 3 hero in Japan! What kind of relationship do you have with these heroes? It's uncommon for Pros, especially young ones like Hawks, to take such interest in students like this. He could only hope what he suspected wasn't reality.

He and a couple of other teachers (namely Midnight, Recovery Girl, Snipe, and Present Mic) were aware that a few students had feelings for you and they were all rooting for someone. Midnight was quite adamant that you and Uraraka were endgame, while he himself was rooting for Shinsou from his own class.

But throw a Pro Hero into the mix? Not only was it weird, but also... How can one compete with a Pro lady's man? Hawks is quite literally the most sought out bachelor in Japan! His ship is going to sink.

Present Mic, nosy as always, had been eavesdropping. His hearing was beyond average, of course. "Another one?" he asked, looking quite smug as he sent a glance towards Eraserhead.

Hawks heard his not-so-quiet whisper. "What do you mean another one?"

Ectoplasm let out a brief sigh. "Another Pro requested [last name]."

"Just a few minutes ago actually!" Present Mic chimed.

"Wait, wait! Don't tell me it's who I think it is-"

"I-"

"DON'T TELL ME. Let me guess. Was it Miruko? I swear if she bad mouthed me-"

Mic had swiftly taken the wired phone from Ectoplasm. "Ding, ding, ding!" he exclaimed, mocking a game show bellring. "She also said not to let her intern with you! Know anything about that?"

Okay, this phone call is way past professional standards now. But he himself couldn't help but be curious about your relationship.

"She's trying to sabotage me, that-" Hawks grumbled. "Don't listen to anything she may have said about me, I'm a very good influence and also number 3! Which is better than number 6, soooo..."

How childish, Ectoplasm thought. He wondered how someone like that could rank so high?

He slightly shook his head, coming back to the present. "He said you're very strong."

That's it? You were a bit disappointed. It's not like you were expecting him to confess his love or anything, but... "Oh."

"Anyways. At the end of homeroom, you need to go to the front of the school where all the buses are. You're with class B," he instructed, to which you nodded.

And when homeroom ended, you followed 1-B to the buses, much to their surprise.

"You never told me you were going on an internship!" Setsuna barked out, shocked by your appearance. Kosei wrapped an arm around your shoulder, as if he was flaunting around the fact that he knew you to his classmates.

"Yup! I'm just that good, aren't I?" You then explained to her – and a few others that cared to listen – that if your internship goes well, then you might transfer to the hero course. They stared at you in awe.

"That's crazy!" Tetsutetsu exclaimed, a wide, excited grin on his face. "Hey, sit next to me on the bus, alright?" He wondered if you would be in his class if – no when you transferred. "Let's talk about the internships!

Setsuna tugged at your arm, pulling you away from Kosei. "Nuh-uh, she already said she's sitting with me! Right, [first name]-channie?" She looked at you with hopeful eyes, flashing her sharp teeth. Oh, how can you say no to that!?

"[first name]'s sitting with me, actually!" Kosei grumbled, glaring at Setsuna. Why do people keep taking you from him? Not that he owned you or something, but it seems ever since the Sport's Festival, his classmates were obsessed with you. Tetsutetsu talked about you (even more than Kosei himself) and he's sure he has even heard Kodai mention you, and she's practically mute!

"Nuh-uh." Setsuna stuck her sharp tongue out at the boys, easily provoking Tetsutetsu.

"Hey, I asked first, you dimwits!"

"I knew her first!"

"Ack!" The three were slapped over their heads by a pair of enlarged hands belonging to none other than 1-B's beautiful class president Kendou Itsuka! You couldn't help but smile when you saw her.

"Ugh, [first name] can choose who she wants to sit with. But, uh, if you can't decide then you can always sit with me-"

"You just want her to yourself!" The three said in unison. Honenuki cracked up laughing at this. You slapped a hand over your mouth, shaking with laughter. Are they really fighting over you? This is so embarrassing. Amusing, but definitely embarrassing!

"Well if you're transferring to the Hero Course, you're better off in 1-B than 1-A," a blond interrupted, snottily swiping his finger under his nose. Monoma Neito, a total nuisance. You don't know what he has against the other Heroics class, but you guess he just really hates them for being traumatized at USJ?

"Oh, hi, Monoma-kun," you greeted the boy, a small smile on your lips. "I think I would rather be in 1-B, too." It was hard to admit since you had quite a few friends in 1-A, but their teacher, Eraserhead, is just too scary! He not only glares at you in the hallways, but he glares at everyone. You remembered that trick he pulled at orientation – Izuku had told you about it. In conclusion, Eraserhead is insane.

And Vlad King is nice. And really hot. But very nice. His dog is cute too.

"Haha!" Monoma triumphantly laughed. "Of course you would! No matter how you look at it, my class is simply better!"

"Yup," you gave him a strained smile with an amused chortle. "Whatever you say, buddy."

Monoma's grin quickly dropped into a scowl. "You're being sarcastic aren't you."

"Really? What gave it away?"

"You're not funny, [last name]."

"They think otherwise," you said, jabbing a thumb back at the group that had bickering about seating arrangements. There was a delighted smile on your lips.

"Yeah, but they're idiots!" he quickly retorted.

"Wow, did you guys hear that?" You looked over your shoulder to see a cluster of students playing rock paper scissors. You guess they didn't hear it. You shrugged. "Whatever. 1-C's obviously the best class!"

Monoma sneered, furrowing his brows. "You aren't even in the Hero Course! You actually have to learn math and English all day!"

"Okay? That's why I'm higher ranked than you."

UA, like most schools, has a leaderboard based on students' overall average scores. You, being oh so smart, are ranked 9 out of the 210 first-year students. You're pretty sure Yaoyorozu and Iida from 1-A are in the top 20 too, but you'll never know unless you ask. Most of the other high-ranking students are in the Business Course.

Some people in the Business Course are intimidating and a little annoying. If you do so much as mention money around them, they'll start ranting about stocks and NFTs and economic growth potential – AKA things you don't care enough to know about. You were glad Kou wasn't like that.

"Yeah, that's because you cheat on exams."

You let out an offended gasp. "I do not!" Yes, you do. But who's gonna stop you? No one can even tell you're cheating! You just use your hypersensitive ears and antennae to pick up other people's whispering and sense which answer they circle by the vibrations on their paper. You don't know how, but it works and you usually get away with it.

"We're boarding!" Kendou yelled out, cupping an enlarged hand around her mouth.

"[last name]!" You were approached by Awase, who you haven't interacted with much. "Uh, we're sitting together." He awkwardly fingered his headband, adjusting it over his brows.

"Really?" You were surprised by this as you've only ever spoken a bit at lunch. You gave him a polite smile. "How'd you guys figure out the seating stuff?"

He grinned. "Rock paper scissors."

"Hey, I'm a rock paper scissors pro! Watch."

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"

He threw down rock, you threw down scissors, before quickly withdrawing that hand and showing another hand under it. Paper. "I win!"

"You stinkin' cheater! Best out of three!"

You simply laughed at his anguish.
