Alerion stood outside and stood in the middle of the field behind the Kent Farm, his eyes were closed as the sunlight hit his skin. He felt so light and so much better after his time in the pod, his cells were drinking in the radiation from the sun. But his quiet moment was ruined by loud noises from all over him, he groaned as he gripped his head in pain.
"Try to breathe." a voice said behind him.
He slowly turned and saw Kara standing there with a small smile.
"So much noise." he said.
English took a bit more time for him to learn but he was able to know a few basic things, but he preferred talking in Kryptonian more when he spoke to Kara and Clark.
"I know. It always hurts the first time." she said before coming closer. "Try to pick out a single sound and only focus on that, block out everything else."
Alerion groaned and tried to focus. Then his face started to relax as the sounds started to recede into silence, he opened his eyes and looked at her and started to smile.
"Thank you." he said.
"You're welcome." she said before hugging him.
Alerion was taken aback. Then he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly, he desperately needed it.
"When Kal told me you were on Earth I didn't want to believe it." she said while hugging him.
"I still can't believe 24 years have passed here." Alerion said as he reluctantly let her go. "Kal is all grown up now. Its strange."
"You and I missed years of our lives in that Blackhole of a deathtrap." Kara said with a frown before smiling up at him. "But at least we are still around the same age."
He smiled and nodded at her.
"How's the farm?" she asked.
"It is amazing. Earth has beautiful nature, the scenery is so alluring." Alerion said while looking around the farm. "Though, Martha and I are still working out the Language Barrier issue."
"I'm sure you'll figure it out." Kara said with a small chuckle. "I learned English as fast as I could, it wasn't easy though."
Alerion smiled before staring at her. She had grown so much into a beautiful teenager, her hair used to be dark brown but now it was an alluring blonde. Her blue eyes were also beautiful and sparkling with life.
"Alerion."
"Huh?" He blinked.
"You've been staring at me for 15 seconds. Are you okay?" she asked.
"Sorry. I just really missed you." he said with a sad smile.
"I missed you too." she said before her face turned solemn. "And I'm sorry about your sister. I was heartbroken when Kal told me, Valta was an amazing person."
Alerion looked down at that and nodded.
"I'm sorry about your parents too." he said.
Then they hugged each other again. But this time, they both clung to each other, all that pain was being released between them and it was satisfying.
"Do you wanna fly with me?" she asked as she started to float up.
Alerion watched her ascend with a look of awe and surprise, he had never seen anything like this. He had never imagined Kryptonians could do something like this on a different planet, it was astounding. He had seen Clark do it a few times but seeing Kara do it was so otherworldly.
"I don't think I can do that yet." he said a little embarrassed.
"Oh. That's fine. Flying isn't easy either way." she smiled. "Maybe next time then."
"I'll hold you to that." he smirked.
Then she slowly got back on the ground.
"Let's take a walk around the farm then." she smiled as she started to walk.
He fell into step next to her and they started to walk, she casually walked around with her hands in the pockets of her blue denim jacket. She was showing just how comfortable she became on the planet, despite only being on it for only a year. Alerion was still confused and felt naked, exposed and weird. For him, it would take awhile to get used to the planet, its customs, infrastructure, food and its people.
"You look so content here." he commented.
"It wasn't always that way though. I was a disaster after I came out of my pod." she smiled thinking back at the memory. "But the Earth family that took me in showed me that it was okay to be different, they even encouraged me to be who I am meant to be."
"They must be nice people if they were willing to take in a stranger from the stars." he chuckled.
"They are. The Danvers Family taught me a lot , I even gained a human sister from it." she said looking at him with a smile. "Although nothing beats Martha's homemade cookies."
Alerion laughed at that.
"Yes! You laughed, a genuine one." she celebrated.
"Yeah. Thank you for that." he said with a small bow before a question came to mind. "So a sister, huh?"
"Yeah. We argue a lot though." Kara shrugged.
"I know the feeling. Valta and I used to argue too, but I loved her no matter what."
"Yeah. I love Alex too." Kara said with a thoughtful smile.
"Kal mentioned you're going to school now." he said looking at her.
"Yes. But their stuff is a little dated compared to the things we learned on Krypton, so for me its just doing revision all over again." she said with a smile.
Alerion rolled his eyes.
"Great. Now, I know what I'll expect."
"Might wanna finish learning English first before going anywhere." she said with a smirk.
"I hate English." he scowled.
"Its not that bad." Kara laughed as she saw his annoyed face.
"I've learned a few languages outside Krypton with ease. But somehow, this primitive language is besting me." he said.
"Try to be open minded about it. It gets easier once you stop struggling." she smiled touching his arm. "I'll help however I can."
He looked down at her hand on his arm, then he looked up at her. Kara noticed his gaze and blushed a bit before moving her hand away subtlety, then she cleared her throat awkwardly.
"Like I said, I'll help however I can." she said before looking at the time on her watch. "I have to go, Alerion. I'll be back as soon as I can. Bye."
Then she took off into the sky, before leaving behind a sonic boom.
"What just happened?" Alerion asked in confusion.
He turned and started to go back to the farm house, he didn't know what had gone into Kara but he dismissed. He then saw Dusty, the border collie approach him with a wagging tail. The Kryptonian had time to befriend the dog while he stayed with Martha, they quickly became friends and Alerion never felt better.
He petted him and scratched the back of his ears before continuing toward the house, he got onto the porch and opened the front door and went inside.
He saw Martha sitting on the couch in the living room, she was watching the news. He looked closer and saw that Clark was on the news, he was busy saving a building that was on fire.
He smiled at this. Being a hero is what suited Clark, Alerion could see that. He was just like his father, Jor-El. Always trying to do the right thing and help people.
"There's lunch in the kitchen if you're hungry." Martha said without turning around.
Alerion frowned. He understood what she said but he didn't know the right English words to say, he bumped his head on the wall a few times before he came up with something.
"Fank you." he said in his best English before he cringed.
"You're welcome." Martha chuckled.
Alerion facepalmed before he groaned and headed for the kitchen, to avoid further embarrassment.
