"Alright.......we're here."
As our trio drove closer to Eden Innovation Technology's building, they noticed a group of guards surrounding it. Dolph, pressing a button on his digital bracelet, underwent a transformation, assuming the identity of a completely different person. Now, he appeared to be the man he had scanned earlier that day. "Y/N, take your position," Dolph ordered, watching as Y/N nodded and climbed into the front passenger seat. However, instead of a little girl, Y/N was now a cat, comfortably nestled on Dolph's lap. Dolph couldn't help but chuckle, affectionately stroking Y/N behind her ears, while Alex drove the car towards the entrance of the building.
Once they reached the entrance, a guard came over and banged on the roof of the car. "Open up!" The guard demanded, Alex rolling down the window of the car the moment he did. The guard soon widened his eyes, recognizing the person Dolph was posing as. "Oh! Uh......sorry, Mr. Vice-president, sir." The guard greeted, clearly startled by the fact that the "vice-president" had made a surprise visit. "May I ask who is this gentleman?" "He's Mr. None of your fucking business, got it? Now open the gate!" The guard tensed up at Dolph's demand, quickly letting the the three into the building. Alex then drove in, going onto a platform which functioned as an elevator.
As the platform descended, a resounding voice resonated through the speakers, commanding them to disembark from their vehicle. Dolph and Alex stepped out of the car, Dolph carefully cradling Y/N, who remained in feline form, in his embrace. Finally, they arrived at the lower level, where a pair of guards stood sentinel before them. "I never took you for a cat person, sir," one of the guards remarked, as Dolph and Alex approached them. Both guards observed Y/N, noticing her contented purring as she nestled into Dolph's arms. "Aww... she's so adorable—OH MY GOD!" The guard's attempt to extend a hand for a gentle petting session was met with an instant swipe of Y/N's sharp claws, leaving a scratch across his startled face.
"Ah! Don't do that, Y/N!" Dolph scolded, gently stroking the cat's fur to calm her down. Meanwhile, Alex swiftly took care of the other guard, rendering him unconscious with a well-placed chopped to the neck. Dolph's expression turned grim as he surveyed the scene, realizing that their mission had taken an unexpected turn. "Looks like we have no choice but to go all-in on stealth mode now," he muttered to himself, determination etched on his face. With Y/N still cradled in his arms, Dolph led the way, navigating the halls while avoiding the rest of the guards still on duty.
Eventually, the three reached the codec's location, Dolph standing in front of the security system, which scanned his appearance. Thanks to him currently taking on the identity of the vice-president, the security system allowed him to go in. Once the large door opened, Dolph pressed a button on his digital bracelet, and went back to being his old self. "Thank god. I missed your beautiful face." "Let's get this over with......." Dolph and Alex walked over to the podium which held the codec, which turned out to be a video game. Dolph raised a brow, grabbing the codec and tilting his head to the side. "I know the casing's a little underwhelming, but trust me when I say it's the real deal!" Y/N eventually transformed back into a human, jumping up and down in an attempt to get a quick look at the codec. "Can I see?" Y/N begged, Dolph chuckling a bit and handing her the codec.
Y/N marveled at the codec, studying it as if it were a precious gem. "Cool..." Y/N whispered, while Dolph knelt before her. "So, what's the plan once we escape from here?" Dolph asked, placing a comforting hand on Y/N's shoulder. Y/N pondered for a moment, a whirlwind of thoughts racing through her mind as she stared at the ground. Eventually, she reached a decision. "I want to visit the moon!" Y/N exclaimed joyfully, causing Dolph and Alex to widen their eyes in astonishment. "The moon?" Dolph questioned, seeking confirmation from Y/N. With a nod, Y/N replied, "Yes! I really want to go there!" Y/N smiled at Dolph, hoping he would comprehend her longing. Initially, Dolph fell silent, attempting to process Y/N's peculiar request. However, he soon chuckled, enveloping Y/N in a warm embrace. "Alright... I'll take you to the moon," Dolph declared, prompting Y/N to giggle and nuzzle her face against his neck.
The pair remained in their embrace, with Alex observing them, a gentle smile on his face. Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by the piercing sound of gunshots. Dolph swiftly carried Y/N out of the room, with Alex trailing closely behind. Y/N trembled in fear as the bullets narrowly missed her. "What was that?" Y/N questioned, seeking answers from Dolph. He held her tightly, offering solace, while maniacal laughter echoed in the distance. "Well, well, well,..........Hello there, Captain-fucking-Laserhawk~" An all too familiar voice said, a figure coming down from a descending platform. The figure was clad in a red suit, which automatically made the trio recognize who he was.
It was Red, the leader of the Niji 6, As well as one of the most insufferable people that you will ever meet. "A billion credits' worth of Eden upgrades, and you're here......stealing video games." Red soon leaped off the platform, doing a flip before landing perfectly onto the ground. "One! You're gonna give me that cartridge, and two! You're gonna give yourself up, Captain Laserjoke." Y/N only blew a raspberry at Red in response, while Dolph rolled his eyes over the terrible pun he just made.
"Hey! You're the guy from TV, right?" Alex exclaimed, as he snapped his fingers, recalling where he had last seen Red. Red's temper flared at this, retorting angrily, "I'm not 'that guy from TV'! I've dedicated myself to the army! And they chose you for their ultimate cyber soldier? Fucking identity politics ruin everything!" Y/N looked up at Dolph, seeing how he already wanted this to be over already. "Here we go again....." Dolph muttered, Red now calling for the rest of Niji 6 to "form the rainbow".
"You know... I never really understood the whole 'rainbow' thing," Dolph mused. "Yeah, me neither," agreed Alex. Alex playfully snatched the codec from Y/N's hand and tossed it in the air, catching Dolph's attention. "Hey, how about a game, Y/N?" Alex asked, a mischievous grin on his face. Y/N nodded eagerly, attempting to retrieve the codec. Alex held it high above his head, chuckling as he instructed Y/N, "When I throw the codec, transform into a bird and fly away with it in your beak. Try to outrun the gummy bear gestapo!" Playfully ruffling Y/N's hair, he then hurled the codec with all his might. Y/N swiftly morphed into a bird, gracefully soaring past the Niji 6 and seizing the codec in her beak.
"We'll be with you shortly!" Alex called out, watching as she soared away from them. The Niji 6 caught wind of their plan, prompting Red to command Y/N's capture. Y/N flapped her wings with all her might, her heart racing as she noticed the Niji 6 hot on her trail. Fortunately, she skillfully evaded their pursuit, transforming into various animals while clutching the codec in her mouth. The exit came into view, and Y/N was determined to reach it in time. Currently resembling a rabbit, she hopped across different platforms, nibbling on the codec. Just as Y/N reached the final platform, she suddenly felt someone seize her by the ears. "Ow!" Y/N cried out, realizing that the person restraining her was none other than Red.
"Heh... I've got you now," Red said smugly, while Y/N stared at him in horror, attempting to squirm free from his grip. Red smirked and plucked the codec from Y/N's mouth, tossing her aside. As Y/N made contact with the ground, she instantly reverted back to her human form. Struggling to get up, she was abruptly struck by Red's foot, forcing her to remain on the floor. "Oh no... Do you really think you'll get away unscathed after what you've put us through?" Red sneered. Red then placed the barrel of his gun on Y/N's cheek, a cruel smile on his face as he slowly pulled the trigger. However, before Red was able to do it, he was suddenly blasted by an all too familiar blue laser beam.
"Get away from her!" Dolph shouted, causing Red to stumble off the platform, exclaiming, "Laserjoke!" Dolph swiftly rushed to Y/N's side, enveloping her in his arms and holding her tightly. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Dolph asked, carefully checking for any signs of injury on Y/N. She nodded, holding back tears as Dolph soothingly patted her back. "Don't worry... I'm here," Dolph whispered, resting his forehead against Y/N's. "Forever... it's you and me." Y/N couldn't help but smile, feeling reassured that her father was still there for her.
Yet, they knew they couldn't linger in this location for long, as the lava continued to rise steadily. Dolph swiftly scooped up Y/N, leaping off the platform and onto the ascending one. Alex stood on the same platform, observing as Dolph gently set Y/N down and embraced her once more. "Daddy... I lost the codec," Y/N murmured, recalling that Red had possessed the codec before being blasted away by Dolph. However, Dolph chuckled and reached into his pocket, producing the codec. Y/N squealed with joy upon receiving it, her excitement evident. "Don't worry... we're still going to the moon," Dolph reassured, watching as Y/N twirled around in a celebratory dance. "YAY!" Y/N cheered, while Dolph watched with a small smile.
"We're going to the moon! We're going to the moon!" Y/N exclaimed with a beaming smile, turning towards Alex and eagerly approaching him. "Alex! We're going to the moon!" she exclaimed, waving the codec high in the air. However, Alex let out a subdued sigh and retrieved something from his coat. "I'm so-" Y/N's sentence was abruptly cut off by the sound of a gunshot, plunging everything into silence. Confusion filled Y/N's mind as she looked down and realized her chest was now bleeding. She gazed back up at Alex, who held a gun aimed at her. "I'm sorry..." Alex whispered, and Y/N fell backward, her gaze fixed on the ceiling.
Y/N didn't feel the impact of hitting the ground. Instead, she was caught by Dolph, who held her with a mixture of shock and disbelief in his eyes. "Y/N? Y/N!" Dolph called out, unable to comprehend that Alex had shot his own daughter. "Stay with me, alright?" Dolph pleaded desperately, but Y/N found herself gradually closing her eyes. "Daddy... I'm tired." "No! No, you're not!" Y/N heard Dolph's voice filled with anguish, but before her eyes shut completely, she witnessed Dolph aiming his cannon arm at Alex.
However, she didn't get a chance to witness the outcome, as she lost consciousness the moment the deafening sound of a blast echoed through the air............
