"Whys it so hot?!" Adina yelled as she looked around to see where Shadis had trotted off to, her eyes meeting the back of her commander as he walked into his office this being the perfect opportunity for her to fall onto the ground and rest
"You were literally just complaining about winter" Connie sighed as Sasha collapsed next to the dark haired marleyan warrior
"Shush Constance"
"I told you not to call me by my full name!!"
"That was last month winter. Now is now and it's too hot" Adina sighed "and last winter was the worst winter I've ever experienced" Adina shuddered
"It wasn't as bad as the one in 840" Jean stated, his voice making Adina jump "when did you get here jean?" She questioned the Ashe blonde only giving her his usual mischievous smirk
"That winter was terrible" Sasha shuddered "it was" Connie sighed, Adina staring at them with a blank face having no idea what they were on about
"Anyways, we're all going to this bar Ymir knows after lights out, and there's a night market, wanna come?" Jean asked the two girls sitting on the ground joined by Connie
"What as in your usual group?" Adina asked referring to Marco, Sasha, Connie and jean that often dragged armin mikasa and eren which led to Reiner and bertholdt joining
Most times christa and Ymir would join sometimes dragging Adina along who'd then persuade Annie to come
"Adina! You're as much a part of our group as everyone else" Sasha frowned hugging her friend
"Yeah I know sasha" Adina hummed "okay I'll go"
"Yay!!" Connie and Sasha cheered "Who told you three you could sit?!" Shadis yelled making the three screech and get up, shadis grabbing Adina and Sashas ears, pulling them until they were red whilst kicking Connie in his groin causing the boy to topple over in pain
"Okay I'll come" Annie sighed as Sasha and Christa let out a cheer, having been trying to convince the blonde to go for the past ten minutes
"Adi what's that your putting on?" Mikasa asked "and that shirt is beautiful" The Ackerman smiled
"Thanks mika, my family was from a different area than others and kept some aspects of their culture after the walls were erected so this is one of my great grandmothers pieces" Adina lied
"Oh, my mothers side came from another past nation" Mikasa hummed "the two being interrupted by something banging against their cabin window, turning to see nothing
"That was close" Jean huffed as him and eren knelt underneath the window, wanting to see what the two girls who were conversing decided to wear that day
"Why did we have to come?" Armin frowned "yeah just do this on your own" Marco sighed
"as a decoy, they'd never expect you two of spying" Jean explained making the blonde and Marco sulk
"We just have to be careful" Eren muttered as they looked into the girls dorm to see Sasha and Ymir pillow fighting whilst Christa and Annie watched them, Adina and mikasa both turning towards the window prompting the boys to hide
"Now that was too close" Eren sighed "they're definitely still looking" Armin shuddered as jean began to make faint animal noises
"What the hell are you doing?!" Eren questioned "making them think it's just a cat!" Jean hissed as he continued his horrible impression of a cat, armin and Marco joining in
"Oh, it's just a cat" Mikasa bummed about to walk away when Adina grabbed her arm "no, that's jeans voice" Adina stated as she walked towards the window and opened it to see a horrified Marco armin and eren, jean fear turning into a smile as he looked up at Adina
"You look nice" He smiled whilst Adina let out a sigh ,
"why're you guys here?" She questioned, Mikasa joining her side and peering out the window "eren? Armin? What are you doing here?" Mikasa asked, Marco looking like he was about to burst
"Jean and eren made us come along to see what outfits you two were wearing and we were about to be caught so we tired to make you think we were cats but you didn't believe us" Marco confessed whikst armin nodded along to everyone he was saying
"Marco you idiot!!" Eren and jean yelled "oh hey when were they here?" Sasha questioned as everyone in the girls room turned to look at the four boys
"Why are they here?" Ymir asked
"The real question is how, we're on the second floor" Annie stated
"Odm gear" Jean grinned, "Go to your room before Shadis catches you" Adina stated, Mikasa shutting the window on the four boys

"I thought we were going to trost not the interior" Adina said with a scrunched nose as the teens made their way into stohess district, Reiner and bertholdt noticing her and the blondes apprehensive glares
"You'll be fine," Reiner stated "and you have us" Bertholdt smiled
"I'd rather hear it from you than that ox" Adina stated, feeling an arm wrap around her shoulder and pull her closer
"And me" Jean stated, pointing towards himself. "Just stay by my side adi and I'll keep you nice and safe" the boy from trost grinned
"Huh? You're acting like you wouldn't need me to protect you" Adina responded lightly pushing the ash blonde "I'm not as weak as you think!" Jean frowned
"Yeah you are" Eren grinned "Eren weren't you over there?!" Adina questioned looking over at Armin and mikasa
"Yeah but I heard someone insulting jean so I came as fast as I could" the brunette smiled "Shut the fuck up you suicidal maniac and go back to your spot!" Jean yelled grabbing erens shirt
"Huh??" Eren yelled back
"They're already fighting?" Christa questioned as Adina walked beside her and Ymir
"When are they not?" Ymir scoffed, looking around before opening the door to a bar "Were here" She grinned
"This place is actually big on the inside" Annie noted as her and her fellow warriors gawked at the size of this bar, nothing like the ones back in liberio
"Have you never been to a bar?" Jean smiled as he nudged Adina "nope" she said, shaking her head and heading inside, admiring all the well dressed people who idly sat there with their drinks and food talking about casual, normal topics, nothing like the man eating monsters that stood a few hundred kilometres away from them or even the further away civilisations that wanted their head on a stick
"Adi try this!!" Eren grinned as he handed her a drink "Rum?" Adina questioned as she looked at the boy, unsure on how people from the island knew of this drink
"A family friend of mine hannes used to have this all the time and I always wanted to try it" The brunette grinned as mikasa and armin joined him, "my dad let me try some, it's disgusting" Mikasa shrugged, the trio and Adina holding up their glasses and making a cheers before trying some
"Bleh!!" Both armin and eren said making the two girls laugh "yeah it's disgusting" Adina coughed as she watched Connie and Sasha try and waltz around like they were adults in order to get a drink
"Let's try all of their alcohol!!" Eren grinned as he raced towards Reiner Ymir and bertholdt who were the only ones able to fool the bartenders, mikasa armin and Adina going after him whilst Annie hastily followed her friend
"Adi! Wait!" Jean yelled as he made his way towards the girl aswell

"I'm still sober" Jean sighed as him and Adina sat upright watching Sasha run outside to puke whilst Connie Reiner and Ymir danced with some of the older men, Christa bertholdt and mikasa passed out, eren rambling about titans to some of the men who wanted a good laugh and Annie who was engrossed in a conversation with armin
"You aren't drunk because I didn't want to have to carry you here so I didn't let you drink as much as Sasha and Connie" Adina scoffed "Eren lasted long though" she hummed
"Yeah and so did I" Jean frowned, resting his head on his shoulder. "D'you wanna take a walk?" Adina asked
"What about the others?" Jean reminded her
"Not for too long, and Christa Bert and mika aren't waking up anytime soon" Adina shrugged
"Okay" Jean hummed, the two standing up and making their way outside
"I don't know what that thing is on your head but it looks good on you" Jean said in an awkward tone making adina slightly laugh "thank you jean, you look good too" She smiled the two sharing a comfortable silence before jean decided to break it
"Just think about it, one day walking in the interior will be a common occurrence for the both of us, then we can go for drinks whenever we want" Jean smiled
"And we won't have to worry about titans trying to eat us like a certain suicidal maniac" He smugly added making Adina snort
"Let eren rest, it's his dream" She half sighed but also laughed.
"So then what's your dream Adina?" Jean asked whilst the two turned a corner away from the calm yet still lively streets of stohess
Adina had to pause at this question, what was her dream? It wasn't revenge like eren, seeing the outside world like armin and she couldn't talk about her family as that wasn't her main dream and she had staged a life in which they died on this island
So what was her dream? Was it to be able to enjoy the same things as everyone else? To not be treated like a devil?
"I'm not entirely sure" She began "but I guess being able to enjoy the simple things in life without things such as class or background defining me, I just want to be a normal girl" She hummed
"What's your dream jean?"
"You."
Jeans abrupt statement caught the younger warrior off guard, having expected him to talk about a lavish life in the interior for the next ten minutes
"You're my dream girl Adina" Jean stated, Adina only being able to stare at him with nothing to say until a man's voice broke the moment they were having
"Hey!!" The voice boomed as both teens turned around to see a short fat man pointing at Adina "oh shit!" Adina cursed as she recognised him as one of the nobles she'd been trailing that'd caught her
"Whys he pointing at you??" Jean questioned as Adina grabbed his arm and raced in the opposite direction of the man "get back here!!" The man screamed, Adina still continuing to run until the two found themselves near the back of the bar both trying to catch their breaths whilst jean tried to understand why they had to run
"Explain please" he huffed, his tiredness going away as Adina looked at him, her face sweaty and strand of her hair stuck to her face which she moved out of the way
"She's too beautiful" Jean thought as he stared at her
"The refugee camps back in trost didn't provide enough food" She stated, that big being true "so I'd steal from people in the interior to get me Reiner bertholdt and Annie by" She stated
"What do you mean refugee camps?" Jean asked making Adina pause "the ones that were formed when wall Maria was breached?" She questioned noticing jeans confused expression
"Jean have I never told you about where I'm from?" She questioned, the ash blonde shaking his head "someone did mention you were from the same area as Reiner Annie and bertholdt but I didn't know it was from there" He said with a sympathetic look
"Jeez jean what do you know about me" Adina smirked, "I just didn't know this!" Jean stated "but it's a pretty big thing not to know" he sighed almost making her feel bad for lying
"So you were there when they got in?" He asked, noticing the girls downcast expression. "We don't need to talk about it" he stated, holding onto her hand and giving her a warm smile
"Let's go back to the others" He suggested, Adina being extremely grateful as she wouldn't have been able to lie about her family to his face
"There you two are" Ymir stayed waving the two over and giving Adina another drink.
"I can't" she said with a smile.
"Come on ado let's not act like we don't drink in our dorms" A now wide awake Christa giggled shoving the drink into Adinas mouth as the three of them laughed.
Adina watched as eren made an attempt at dancing with mikasa trying to twirl her around but falling on his ass while armin cheered them on, it was surprising armin managed to make it in to be fair.
Reiner and bertholdt we're watching two old men fight Annie, the blonde winning while Marco tried to stop the fight getting punched in the face. "This is so chaotic" she whispered to jean
"I love it"

"What do you two want?" Annie grimaced as Adina and Reiner marched up to her and bertholdt the two knowing when that duo came with that look in their eyes it was about something stupid
"We just wanted to show you our new dance" Reiner frowned
"You showed it to us yesterday" Bertholdt reminded them
"Yeah but we made some new adjustments" Adina smiled
"We're busy discussing plans" Annie lied
"You're just avoiding Shadis" Reiner huffed making bertholdt sigh "okay show us your dance" The brunette gave in making Adina and Reiner cheered
Although the four never admitted it to eachother, this fleeting sense of enjoyment not only brought them closer but reminded them of their home, they each knew they wouldn't be able to do this mission within the other three no matter how much they fought and being able to enjoy moments like this were what kept them pushing forward
"It's just the same as yesterdays" Annie stated making Adina and Reiner groan "now you've set them off" bertholdt sighed as the two tried to explain the difference in their dance this time around when Christa and jean called out to them
"Adina Shadis said we have to go hang up the clothes" Jean yelled "and Annie we have to clean the kitchen and dining area" Christa stated the blonde letting out a heavy sigh before getting up
"You're so lucky Annie" Reira sulked making Adina kick him "She up Reiner she doesn't want you" the dark haired girl stated as she walked over to jean, tying her short hair into a half up half down look with a few strands out a beaded necklace her brother had gotten her standing out in comparison to the black sleeveless top she wore
"Coming" She stated as she left bertholdt to pat Reiners back "You sound unenthusiastic" Jean snorted "yeah because hanging clothes is like the most boring chore" Adina sighed
"It won't take too long, there's two of us" Jean grinned, the two making their way up the stairs towards the basket of clothes that needed to be hung

"Your hair looks really nice like that" jean smiled as he stopped hanging for a second and just stared at Adina, the girl also pausing before something seemed to snap her back into reality
"Less talk more work" She stated, focusing on the clothes
"Ouch" Jean frowned "is it because of what I said the other night?" He asked, referring to their conversations on dreams
"No" Adina shrugged "I don't mind being your dream girl" she yawned, trying to act casual "plus that doesn't mean anything will happen between us, you don't even know that much about me" She stated
"Then I'll learn" Jean declared "What do I already know.." he trailed off "you like the colour orange, you like sweet foods, you hate the food served here, you don't talks to anyone other thane and the others we go out with and you like jewellery but don't have time to wear it because of trading" jean stated making Adina laugh
"You're desperate kirstien" She sighed "For you" Jean replied
"So what's your dream guy?" Jean questioned "I don't know, I've never really thought about it due to being worried should literal man eating monsters" Adina said in a slightly louder tone
"But I guess you" She shrugged, noticing the grin on jeans face
"Cut that out" She sighed throwing a wet shirt in his face
"Hey!" Jean yelled as he threw it back, realising what he'd done when Adina quickly hung the shirt and jumped at him, jean being able to move out of the way in time
"You'll grow tired after a few minutes!" Adina yelled as she chased the ash blonde down
