Jungkook batted his eyes rapidly trying to get rid of those unwanted blurriness of tears brimming his eyes. To add on his misery it was raining heavily.
The thunder roared terribly which made him whimper in fear as he covered his ears with palms, quivering lips letting out helpless sobs.
Yet nothing could stop his rushing feet which were nowhere near to halt knowing the reason behind his shattered wounded heart is right there running after him, calling him, begging him to stop.
A choked sob escaped his quivering lips feeling the familiar arms engulfing his shivering body from behind basking him in the longing warmth and scent.
Taehyung pulled the smaller boy closer trying to hide him in his chest. His uneven breaths and pounding heart was the only evidence to terror he felt seeing the boy running away like that. Crying miserably.
"L-let me g-go." Jungkook stuttered brokenly.
Taehyung shook his head vigorously, tightening his hold around Jungkook.
"No."
"P-please, let me g-go Taehyung." Jungkook pleaded hands weakly trying to pry away the veiny arms from his shoulders.
But Taehyung didn't let him. He won't let him go. Not this time.
"No. You are coming with me home." Taehyung muttered, jaw pressed against the shell of the boy's ear in his arms.
Hearing him, Jungkook gritted his teeth, feeling the anger rushing in his veins. How dare Taehyung stop him? What do he want now? He is no one to him.. no one. Not after what he said a moment ago.
That's when he forcefully removed Taehyung's arms from himself before turning behind facing the older with furious doe eyes blazing with anger.
"No! I-i am not going a-anywhere with you.... And why a-are you even following m-me huh? Shouldn't y-you be on the d-date right now? You will be l-late... Go.. g-go to your date, s-she must be waiting for y-you.."
His palms continued to hit Taehyung's chest who took every hit without uttering a single word. Those hits didn't hurt a bit but Jungkook's tears felt like a dagger stabbing his heart mercilessly tearing him into pieces.
Seeing him still Jungkook grabbed his collars pulling him closer, bloodshot red eyes staring deep in the glossy vulnerable ones of Taehyung's.
"Why aren't y-you going huh? I SAID GO! LEAVE ME ALONE AND FVCKING GO. G-go a-away... go to h-her,.. l-leave me p-please."
At last he broke down his hands slowly loosening their grip on Taehyung's collars in an attempt to move away but the older didn't let him.
He hugged Jungkook closer who started wiggling hard, hitting his torso to get away but at last gave up.
A tear rolled down Taehyung's eyes feeling like dying seeing his love in this miserable condition. He knows he was the reason behind it. This thought was enough to flow a gush of warm tears on his cheeks.
"W-why are you d-doing this to me? What do y-you want now? Let go of m-me please." Jungkook spoke in a shaky voice, face void of any emotion.
Honestly he was tired. Tired of expecting everything to be alright. Tired of hoping that Taehyung wants him the same he wants in his life. Tired of everything.
Taehyung pulled away slightly cupping his cold face with his big hands making him look at him in his eyes.
"Never.. if I let you go today too, I will lose myself forever. I'll explain everything to you, trust me once please." He joined their foreheads together without breaking eye contact.
His eyes were glistening with vulnerability and hope that Jungkook couldn't help but lower his eyes. Wordlessly he wrapped his arms around the older's neck burying his face in his chest.
Taehyung didn't waste a second bending down and carrying him in his arms. Jungkook wrapped his legs around Taehyung's waist, hiding his face in his neck.
Taehyung dragged his feet fastly, roaming his eyes in search of a shelter from the rain which was showing no sign of slowing down.
He heaved a breath of relief finding a closed shop. Without any delay he led them to the shop's direction.
Jungkook didn't let go of Taehyung even after reaching there. He just couldn't. He needed to feel Taehyung close to him. He needed to make sure Taehyung was there with him and not going anywhere. He needed Taehyung close to calm the anxiousness of his heart.
Taehyung almost whined when Jungkook got down from his body, leaving his arms longing to hold him back and fill the emptiness.
He gazed at the younger who was avoiding his eyes facing the other side.
"I am fine.. you can go on your d-date now." He gulped, feeling hard to push the words out of his mouth.
Taehyung sighed, taking the smaller boy's soft baby-like hands in his own. "I am not going anywhere. I won't leave you alone like this."
Jungkook bit his lip preventing it from wobbling, teary eyes stared at nothingness.
"I am really f-fine, please go tae please l-leave me alone." He sniffed, pulling his hands out of Taehyung's hold.
He turned his back at Taehyung, hugging himself in protectiveness and comfort.
"Let me explain everything why I wanted to go on a date with someone else." Taehyung requested softly but he shook his head.
"You don't need to explain anything to me. Who am I to you in the first place? It doesn't matter anymore."
Right. Why does it matter to Jungkook? If it doesn't matter to him then why did he run away like that? Why can't he see him going to someone else?
Jungkook left out a yelp suddenly getting turned around by Taehyung who had a blank face.
"Really? It doesn't matter to you. Then should I go to her-" Taehyung didn't even finish when Jungkook cut him in the middle.
"NO! I.. I- m-mean I.." the younger started getting out of breath when he didn't find a suitable answer for his sudden agitated reaction.
Sensing his discomfort Taehyung pulled him closer in his embrace and started rubbing his back soothingly.
"Shh.. calm down.. relax, breath bun.. breath for me."
Taehyung continue to whisper sweet nothing soothing words in Jungkook's ears who couldn't help but to break down in his arms.
"Why Tae? Why now? Why do you want to move on now? You could have done it in these four years when I was away but no, you have to break me over and over again. Do you hate me this much, hyungie?"
Taehyung shook his head desperately, pressing the younger more into himself.
"No! What are you saying koo.. I can never hate you my moon."
The endearment made Jungkook's heart skip a few beats. He even forgot to take a breath as all his mind was wandering with Taehyung's voice calling him his moon.
However it didn't take him long to come out of the daze. He withdrew his face from Taehyung's chest to look up at the man, lips molded into a sulky pout unconsciously.
"You do.. that's why y-you are going on a date with s-someone else." He mumbled jutting his lips more.
Taehyung could hardly control the fond smile which bloomed on his lips witnessing the adorable antics of his beautiful moon.
"I am doing this for you only, koo." He said the fond smile turned into a gloomy one.
Jungkook frowned deeply. How is Taehyung going on a date related to him? And what does he mean by doing it for him?
"What do you mean?" He voiced out his thoughts but the next question from Taehyung widened his eyes in shock and disbelief.
"You love Kim Yugyeom don't you?"
"Wha-"
Taehyung chuckled dryly, turning his head away from the younger to hide the unwanted tears gathering in his eyes.
"I know you both are in a relationship and I am really happy for you. But unknowingly me and wonnie are creating problems in your relationship with our presence. And snatching your happiness is the last thing I want so I decided to free you from the unwanted burden we have putten you in." He revealed calmly but his heart was anything but calm.
It was bleeding inside even imagining Jungkook and yugyeom together with each other.
He hastily wipes the tears from his cheeks when Jungkook rushes before him with a confused yet worried face.
"What are you saying hyungie? Me and yugyeom are not in a relationship. I swear.. there's nothing in between us." Jungkook blurted desperately, grasping Taehyung's biceps with his shaking hands.
Jungkook doesn't know how and why Taehyung thinks he and yugyeom are in a relationship. He surely lied before about having a boyfriend but he told the truth to Mrs Kim a while ago.
Taehyung gulped seeing the desperation and fear in Jungkook's eyes.
"But yesterday I-i saw you.. two k-kissing in the corridor."
Jungkook went speechless. When? He doesn't remember anything like that happening. Nothing happened yesterday in fact he met yugyeom before lunch that too accidentally when he went to get some print outs and something went in his eyes.
Yugyeom helped him remove it– wait did Taehyung see them there? Did he misunderstand them?
Jungkook looked horrified when he cupped Taehyung's face, shaking his head vigorously.
"We weren't kissing hyungie something went in my eye and he helped me by removing it. I promise hyungie I didn't kiss him, I can never.. trust me please. Nothing happened between us." He was literally crying while pleading Taehyung to trust him.
Taehyung placed his trembling lips on Jungkook's forehead letting them linger for a brief moment. Jungkook instantly stopped his babbling and closed his eyes to savor the yearning moment to the depth of his heart.
"I do, I trust you koo."
He does. He trusts Jungkook.
"You w-won't ever think about m-marrying someone else right?" Jungkook gazed up at him with doe eyes sparkling with vulnerability and hope.
"Never." Taehyung shakes his head placing tender kisses on his eyes.
Jungkook burst into tears feeling overwhelming with the affection Taehyung was showing him. He couldn't help but to throw himself in Taehyung's arms weeping in his chest.
"I-i don't want to lose you again tae.. please don't move on f-from me. Don't leave me for someone else again.. please, I beg y-you hyungie."
Taehyung was also crying with Jungkook. Just like Jungkook he too fears losing the younger. He won't be able to take it this time.
"I would rather die before leaving you my moon."
