drowning

I think loving someone and then losing feelings for that person is like swimming. You are thrown into the cold water at the beginning, but you quickly get used to this new, unique feeling.
You start to make your first swimming strokes.
You might dive your head under the water once or twice, but you always come back to the surface quickly. But after a while, you slow down.
It becomes more and more exhausting, but your head tells you to keep swimming despite your aching arms and legs. Until you can no longer keep your head above water. And the person you left continues to stand on the shore, unable to do anything but watch the person they once loved slowly disappear.

I'm drowning
Drowning in my thoughts
Drowning in reality
Crying till i can't breathe
There's no escape
I just want to be free
I want to be home
I can't pull myself out
I can't even shout
I just need someone
Someone to save me.

And right now there is only one person who can save me from this drowning feeling, i want him, but i know I can't have him.

but i was quite literally drowning.
