Chapter 27

┗━━━━━━━━┛

There was not a single sound coming from them. Nobody is talking, not a single word is being said by anyone. The only sound that can be heard is the chitchat from the audience. You stood there, seemingly devoid of emotion, unsure of your next move, and completely unaware of the situation unfolding around you.

Who are them to be exact?

You don't know.

When you really stop and think about it, you realize that you, too, do not know everything, and that includes yourself.

You have no idea who you are or where you come from.

You gazed down at the ground, observing your feet, and furrowed your brow, meticulously contemplating every detail.

Asuto made a feeble attempt at humor and said, "Don't scare us like that, Mui-san!" However, because you chose to remain mute in answer, he was forced to pause and look at you with wide eyes.

As you pondered, a throbbing pain began to pulse in your head, accompanied by the sudden appearance of dark spots. You could feel the floor moving beneath you. You caught a glimpse of their face, wide-eyed and filled with panic, just before darkness enveloped you entirely. You maintained a stoic expression. The expression remained intact long after you lost consciousness.

By attaining a sense of White Space. Having the truth can lead to a tendency to overlook the reality of truth and its consequences. Meaning, "To forget."

During the journey through the vast expanse of Black Space, the expenses incurred were significantly higher than anticipated. Meaning, "To retain."

On the other hand, this is not the case with anything. The perspective of the audience was one that was quite distant. Many of the people who were watching the Inakuni assembled themselves in a line and bowed respectfully to the composed female player.

It's likely that the god striker was the first specific player to catch the author's attention when it came to individual players. As we moved closer, we could see that he was concentrating entirely on you.

The initial player that captured the author's interest was likely the exceptional striker. With a focused gaze, he directed his full attention towards you. He had heard rumors that were swirling around, and it turned out that those rumors were indeed true - you possessed a power that made you a formidable rival to him. It's a shame that he never had the chance to face you as an opponent, because you were truly formidable.

"Hiroto."

"Hm?"

"I have a sneaking suspicion that there's something wrong with them. Look." The Kiyama Tatsuya brought up something that the guy with the noodle hair paid close attention to; yet, he was never able to figure out why Tatsuya drew his attention.

He was able to see the expression on Asuto's face, which was one of complete horror and disbelief. They were taken aback when the woman in front of them suddenly passed out, which caused them to feel frightened.

Hiroto sat there, taking in his surroundings and observing everyone and everything. He saw some Teikoku Gakuen members standing up with worrisome expressions and ran over to them. He was aware that they were familiar with you and that you had a place in their hearts.

Before they could leave the stadium he looked back, he felt suffocated when his eyes landed at you but then he try to ignored that feeling.

A rhythmic sound, like the gentle thumping of a heart. A mask is attached to the lips to provide oxygen. As pale as paper, as cold as rain, and as quiet as a whisper.

Sakuma and Fudou stood outside room 140, accompanied by Asuto. A group of people anxiously awaited the doctor's emergence, while others were unable to join them at the hospital due to overcrowding concerns, causing additional worry.

A man in a white coat emerged, clutching a document that revealed the diagnostic findings of Osamu, a renowned doctor who uncovered BCM, Black Cognitive Memory, and diagnosed you with it. He was named after the renowned author who wrote "No Longer Human."

The Osamu Dazai.

He casually looked at the individuals sharing the same hallway as him. His gaze fixated on the paper as he started speaking, "Unfortunately, we can only disclose this information to her guardians."

The argument was about to get heated when Sakuma stepped in,"The last time I was here, you gave someone information, and that was only a friend." While staring at him carefully, he said.

Sakuma observed Osamu closely, noticing his keen attention to detail. He took a deep breath and locked his gaze with Osamu's eyes.

Osamu let out a deep sigh, feeling frustrated with his inadequate pay. "If you guys are determined to find the result, you just can't. As for Hajime, she is the only one who I can disclose the information with since she was legally an adult and has a connection with the patient."

"I am sorry, but as a professional medical doctors, I couldn't break what I was here for. Thank you for understanding." The three were left speechless while Osamu bowed and went to where Nozomi is.

Perched on the edge of the bed, gazing out the window as the warm rays of sunlight gently caress your face. You awaken with the faint recollection of the events that transpired in the field, fragments of memories dancing at the edges of your consciousness. You sensed a certain unease within yourself, yet struggled to identify its source.

The door swung open, and you glanced back to see that it was Osamu standing there.

You're familiar with him because you've met him twice. The initial one is your admission upon entering the unknown reality, and the subsequent one is your encounter with Sakuma.

"You're finally awake."

"Hmm." You confront the doctor, maintaining a composed posture. "How are you holding up?" He inquired, moving closer to you.

"Fine," you replied curtly. You could observe his hand movements as he effortlessly flipped the paper. You glanced at him, taking note of his mannerisms and anticipating something unexpected about to be said. He initiated a conversation that could be answered with a simple yes or no, specifically about emotions or any specific pain you might be experiencing.

You straightforwardly asked, "Is there something wrong with me?"

He paused, his gaze fixed on you as he set aside the paper he was holding.

Osamu began to share the details of the situation, revealing his findings that were disheartening for all involved.

As a doctor, he couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness with each new revelation. Being a doctor requires bravery and the ability to keep your emotions in check, especially for surgeons. When faced with the imminent loss of a patient, despite their best efforts, medical professionals can't help but feel the weight of the situation as they witness life slip away before their eyes.

Osamu is facing a challenging situation with Kamui. Not only does she lack any information regarding her, but she also has the diagnosis that she only had. This terminal circumstance is quite unusual and has not been examined.

"You were diagnosed with a severe form of cognitive memory loss, which was unfortunately terminal. Allow me to provide you with an explanation. There is no known cure for this condition, much like other brain-related diseases such as dementia."

As he looked into your eyes, he could see nothing but hollow orbs while he held his breath temporarily.

"BCM is a brain activity where individuals may experience occasional lapses in memory, such as forgetting something in the short term. While there is a possibility of retrieving these memories, there is also a chance of losing them permanently. We are currently in the process of conducting investigations and experiments to determine the possible result and underlying causes of this situation. I am sorry about the situation you're in."

"There's a symptom that resembles dementia, although there are no other similarities aside from the tendency to forget."

"The symptoms of Black Cognitive Memory can impact both brain activity and physical well-being. There are certain activities that can cause the body to produce a red fluid, which is commonly known as blood. There are a range of symptoms that can occur, from common ones like a cold, to more serious ones like coughing out blood or experiencing nosebleeds. However, based on my assessment, I don't think it will be fatal."

For the most part, you process everything, which means that you will gradually forget everything and everyone. Reality hits hard as you realize that you will forget your mother just as she forgets you.

The memories of everything, including the recall of your mother and brother, as well as the recollection of Hajime as your brother's girlfriend and as a sister figure. You won't remember how you made real friends.

"You are slowly losing your memories."

You sealed your lips tightly. Your gaze fixed on the floor, your thoughts consumed by the doctor's words.

A profound stillness stretches across the distance.

A melody that has vanished into eternity.

A memory forever lost in the depths of time.

"I'm sorry."

You tilted your head in confusion, unsure of his meaning. However, you felt that you didn't deserve his apologies, as he hadn't done anything wrong. You closed your eyes, feeling the weight of sorrow that will linger with you for some time.

"That's alright."

A heavy silence hangs in the air, unbroken by any sound or conversation. Not a word is spoken, as if the world itself holds its breath. You both turn into complete silence, with no one daring to make a sound or utter a single word.

"Osamu-san, could you please keep this a secret to everyone else?"

With a wrinkled brow, he conveyed his intention to decline your request.

"I know you already told Hajime about the diagnosis but I also know that you didn't tell her today's results."

"Sincerely, I am conscious of the repercussions that I am currently facing. I would appreciate it if you could keep this information a secret between us. Where should I begin and end my request? The reason is something that I am unable to reveal at this time, but I would appreciate it if you could do me a favor."

That reason is kept a secret by everyone; no one hears it, and no one is aware of it, not even you.

"Thank you." You expressed gratitude one final time before gracefully moving your feet off the bed, wearing a gentle smile. You were filled with the resolve to cherish every single moment from this point forward, all while remaining steadfast in your determination to return home before the memory of your mother's face fades completely.

After a period of quiet, the doctor eventually departed, allowing you some much-needed solitude. As he departed, your smile gradually disappeared, transforming into a subtle expression.

"I want to go home."

"Please."

As the doctor entered the hallways, he noticed the three individuals patiently waiting. He told them before going to his duty, "Take care of her."

And suddenly, the door swung open, revealing the one and only.

"Hello, why are all of you depressed and silent? I am not dead."

Blunt as ever.

"Kamui!"

"Mui!"

"Yeah yeah."

But more livelier than ever.

In the dimly lit training hall, a group of determined youths gathered, their faces etched with determination. Each one of them knew that the path to greatness was paved with sweat, sacrifice, and sometimes even blood. They had heard the stories of legendary warriors who had honed their skills through relentless training, pushing themselves to the very limits of their physical and mental endurance.

With unwavering resolve, these young warriors embarked on their own journey towards mastery. Only a select few could ever hope to reach it: the entrance to glory, a gateway that only the chosen ones, those who had triumphed over fierce battles, were permitted to stand before. It was the gate to the world, a threshold that held the promise of untold wonders and unimaginable power.

After a few days, you managed to persuade the others, even those who were skeptical, that you were doing well. They may not have believed you completely, but they still listened. Zhao Jinyun graciously offered to cover the hospital expenses, and naturally, you didn't refuse such a kind gesture.

You were quietly seated at the stadium with Inakuni, when you were taken aback by the sound of your name and the sight of it displayed on the screen.

With a straight face, you're well aware that it was the coach's plan once more.

As you settled into a comfortable position, Haizaki's gaze fell upon you. It was hard to ignore the intensity of his stare, especially since he was sitting right beside you.

"Oi."

You chose to disregard his presence and feigned ignorance.

"Oi."

A sudden irritation crossed Haizaki's face as he firmly grasped your head, a gesture that no longer surprised you, given your familiarity with such encounters.

"Hm?"

"Why are you here?"

Translation: Are you okay?

You reached out and firmly grasped hold of his wrist, drawing him closer to you. This caused him to flinch slightly, his cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. "I'm okay, but please refrain from forcefully gripping my head, as it may result in potential harm to my skull or the possibility of memory loss."

"What?!?" He forcefully withdrew his hand and let out a loud exclamation.

The entire interaction did not escape the attention of the group who happened to be present at the stadium - Genda, Fudou, Kazemaru, and Sakuma. This seemed to bother them, as they observed how close the individuals were.

You turned your focus to Asuto while Haizaki continued to glare at you, saying, "By the way, Asuto. Is it normal for them to not announce my position and just put a certain position on the screen like that in the field?"

"Huh?"

Much to Asuto's confusion, you pointed your index finger to the screen, which both Haizaki and Asuto could see, and widened their eyes.

"Look, I'm an all-rounder."

"Wait, what?!"

Cut-Scene

Throughout the time Fudou, Sakuma, Genda, and Kazemaru training sessions.

During the moment when you and he were both about to pick up the ball and make him quite close to you, Genda blurted out how beautiful you are. He instantly denied it and pretended as if he had not said anything.

"Umm.. thanks?"
