"It's not that big of a deal mani. Pick your head up" cece, my best friend said through our facetime call
I rubbed my head as i looked up while sitting in my car outside of my new school
"I'm not tryna be here ce...maybe i should drop out" i looked at her
"Maybe you shoulda never swung on a disabled kid" she shrugged
"She's not disabled she just has a lazy eye" i said looking out the window
"Well i think you shoulda just let her words roll off your back like water mani now look..you're expelled and she's prancing around here like some queen" she told me
"A queen with a fucked up line of sight" i mumbled
She shrugged and opened her mascara
"I have to get inside..or i'm gonna be late" i said pulling my purse from the passenger seat
"Love you armani"
"I love you too ciara" i responded then hung up
I put a piece of gum in my mouth then got out pushing my fingers through my jumbo curls
When i walked in the school, it looked so regular
Long halls lined with lockers
Teachers and staff in the halls
Students everywhere
I just started to walk around, looking for the office because i'd rather die than to ask somebody for help out here
After about 5 minutes i was face to face with the secretary who had a little brown bun and big glasses
"Did you not come here already to make sure you were enrolled?" She asked me
"My mom talked on the phone with someone for 4 hours yesterday..they did all of that and told her i was gonna be able to come today" i told her
"Well I wasn't here yesterday. Who did she talk to?" She sighed
I put my hands together and pursed my lips
Is she forreal?
"I wasn't on the phone with her..I don't know" i said
She looked at me for a second then looked at her computer again
"What's your name?"
"Armani carver" i said
She typed it in
"Carter?"
She said
I just turned around and walked out
At that point i felt like she just wasn't listening on purpose
I looked down for a split second to pull my phone back out when somebody bumped into me making me look up just pissed
"Damn what the fuck you doing?" This boy asked
"I didn't even mean to..you bumped into me" i mugged
"Keep ya fucking head up you shouldn't be that far gone youn see nobody" he just started talking over me
"Fucking weird ass lil boy just move" i pushed past him and kept walking
"Where are you going?" Some lady tried to stop me as i was walking out
I ignored her and just left
When i got in my car, i facetimed my momma
"What armani?" She picked up from her desk
"Did you talk to the people momma?" I asked
"Yes my daughter your brother was with me" she said
"Okay cuz why i went in here and these people tryna just play in my face..ol girl behind the desk with that ol weak ol bun tryna get smart talkin about she wasn't here yesterday so she don't know who you talked to" i just started talking
"Best believe i walked right back out that school. Baby armani won't beg for nothing I don't even need school" i shrugged
"If you don't graduate, you're cut off at 18" she said
I sighed
"Momma call them people then" i said
"Just go home and we'll try again on Monday mani i'm already at work" she told me
"Well since i'm already out i might as well just go to target you know my lamp is broke because ant broke it" i said
"I'll send you 200..that's it" she told me making me smile
"Thank you mommy. You can send me your list too" i offered
"No. Get off my phone" she said
"Bye mommy" i laughed softly
"Bye girl" she responded then hung up
I started my car and sat there scrolling through tik tok until traffic died down so i could leave

I was laying in bed editing my youtube video when the door opened downstairs making me get up and close my door
I heard my little sister race past my door just like everyday and a few minutes after, my dad opened my door
"I'm grilling tonight what you want steak or chicken?" He asked
"Ouu chicken" i gasped
"Go to the grocery store your moms working late"
"Daddy..where's ant?" I whined
"He's in his room about to come get that grill started. Take princess with you too. Teach her how to do her hair or something" he said
"I'm actually busy. Send princess on her own" i said and laid back
"She's taking your car"
I jumped up quick
"Oh yeah. What I thought" he said
I got dressed then went to my little sisters room
"Come on princess we gotta go to the grocery store"
"Good. I gotta get some stuff to make slime" she said
"What happened to your vendor?" I furrowed my eyebrows
"Mommy said my package got delayed and i have 6 orders that i need to get out by tomorrow" she explained
I just shut up because i'm not an entrepreneur, i'm an influencer but who the fuck still buys slime?
She grabbed her wallet after throwing something on as well and we left
"Has daddy started teaching you how to drive?" I asked
"Yeah. He let me drive the golf cart around all last friday then put me in his car on sunday" she told me
"Yeah..i was about 14 when i started driving too" i nodded
"Well i did pretty good. He said if i get good enough, he'll let me drive to school in the mornings" she told me
We talked the whole way to the grocery store and she pushed the cart while i grabbed what we needed.
Once i grabbed everything we made our way to the crafts aisle so Princess could get the glue she needed. after that, the self checkout line.
"should i swipe my card or daddy's?" i asked princess mischievously
"mmmm eenie meenie minie- daddy's" she smiled
i nodded my head i got out my dads card and swiped for the amount.
We put the bags in the cart and wheeled it outside. we put the groceries inside, and then i remembered that i forgot to get the lamp ant broke.
"stay in the car, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE" i eyed princess
"okayyyyy"
i ran back inside and as soon as i make it down the aisle to look at the lamps i was going too fast i wasn't able to slow down and ran into somebody.
once i got my balance back i noticed it was the boy at school i ran into. he was looking down at me with his hand out.
"Okay, that's actually my fault this time" i said grabbing his hand.
He helped me up and kept on looking in the aisle. i stood there confused because did he hear me? i had no clue.
"i said sorry. aren't you that dude from school?"
"Oh you talking to me? i thought youtube famous girls don't speak in public"
i laughed a little bit. "wow there's no way you're serious right now" i said searching for the brand i had for the lamp
"Nah kinda" he smirked
i found it and picked it up. it was heavy. i struggled but the boy helped me.
"thank you, how'd you know i did youtube though" i asked as we walked to the front of the store
"your fans was waiting to see you all day" he said mellow, kind of like it was the normal for a georgia school.
"i'm not even famous to be calling them fans" i replied noticing his tattoos, from his arms all the way to his neck and his dreads was in 2strands.
"did those hurt?" i asked as we made it to self checkout. he waited for me as i scanned the box.
"nah, youn got any ink?"
"i do, but it's kinda hidden my dad don't even know"
"it better not be that 'ways' shi im sick of that"
"no, it's this" i said pulling up the side my tank top showing some of my back.
God Is Within Her She Will Not Fall
"thats some hard shi" he nodded
i put my tank down "thank you kind stranger." i paid for the lamp and he immediately picked it back up.
"i could've carried it" i said confusingly as we left the store walking to the parking lot.
"i know, jus wanted to talk lil Armani Nicole."
"And you are?" i asked while i popped the trunk of my car
"Joshua."
"Nice to meet you." i smiled
"You too. My fault for bumping you at school. ima see you around though" he said walking away
i nodded and saw princess was out of the car.
"ouu im telling daddy" she screamed
"Princess what did i tell you?! get in the damn car before i bust a cap in yo ass!!" i said shoving her into the passenger seat.

Once we got home, I took the bags to the kitchen, the lamp upstairs and went back up to my room. I grabbed my camera and finished editing the video.
I checked my youtube studio as it was uploading.
"15 thousand ain't cutting it" i whispered to myself.
somebody knocked at my door right at that moment.
"come in"
it was my mom, "come downstairs the food is done. and you're all set for school tomorrow just go to class i emailed you your schedule"
"okay ima be right down".
i got up 5 minutes after and went down to eat dinner. we always ate as a family, that's how we bonded. My mom sold real estate and my dad was an eye doctor so they were busy a lot.
everybody sat there, in silence for some time which was different.
"How was everyone's day" i asked breaking the ice.
"too much slime" princess sighed
"coo played football with the guys" ant responded next
"nice nice. mom? dad?" i said
"Fine, sick of these clients being picky about these houses" my mom said rolling her eyes
"One dude came in today with a terrible lazy eye" my dad giggled
"Just like that girl Mani beat up?" princess said
we all started cracking up besides my mom.
"not funny, yall eat and go to bed" she said getting up
"oop, sorry." princess said
dad kept laughing until he saw mom staring him down "come on, yall heard the boss lady. yall start showers and get to bed"
I left the table and put my plate away and got ready for bed.
