It was a slow day at the European Branch of Black Order, and Freya Chesterfields was walking down to her room after a training session. She was passing Komui's office as the gatekeeper began to alert an intruder outside. The next second, she was already making her way to the gate. On the way, she ran into Kanda, the dark-haired stoic exorcist hurrying the same way. Her long, red hair was the first feature that the young man took into his vision as he looked at her.

"I can take care of it myself. Go rest." he stated sternly, as if ordering her.

"Did you forget who you are talking to?" she clapped back as she strode faster, her heels clicking on the hard floors of the building.

"Tch..." was all that Kanda muttered as he also walked faster.

They made their way to the gate, ready to exterminate the intruder.

"Final wishes, demon?" Freya asked as her hands began to light up and sparkle with her Innocence, while Kanda took out his sword.

"Hey... look, I'm serious! I'm not an Akuma! I'm just a little bit cursed!" the poor white haired boy said, fact that made Freya stop for a second, taking in his appearance as her eyes stopped on the pentagram above his eye, without paying attention to Kanda who already was charging an attack at the youngster in front of her.

"Kanda, stop!" she shouted as she teleported between them. "It's true. He is human. He has the same pentagram." she added as she caught Kanda's sword with her hands, her Innocence already active. She opposed the young samurai for long enough as Komui confirmed that indeed the white-haired boy was Cross's pupil, to which Kanda let down his sword, looking at Freya's hands, that were bleeding.

"Stupid brat. You got hurt defending that cursed scum. But it was expected from you, since you are the same as him." he added before making his way inside the headquarters.

Freya let her head hang low as a huge wave of anger washed through her, her Innocence changing from the warm yellow to dark purple and then to a bright red, her blood coming through her right hand and materialising into a long sword. In one jump, she charged at Kanda, and she pushed him to the ground, the sword right into his neck.

"Now, now... let's see who the real scum is, Kanda." she said as she put more pressure on his neck. "Look, I really don't want to kill you, but if you ever say that again, I give you my word, I will slice your damn throat open and leave you to bleed to death. Why? Because I'm fucking done with your arrogant ass of an attitude!" she said as she retreated her sword that vanished back into her arm before getting off of the samurai and leaving after she nodded to Lenalee.

She made her way straight to the dining hall, as she promised Jerry that she will help in the kitchen during dinner. She got in the kitchen after she hung her coat and took an apron and a bandana to tie her hair with. Jerry approached her cautiously as he sensed that she had been brought into a state of rage.

"Everything alright, Freya?"

"Yeah. Just Kanda being stupid. I almost killed him today."

"Oh... so, same old bickering." Jerry added as he made his way to serve some people. As he finished serving a group of finders, he saw Kanda entering the dining hall, a bandage around his neck. His face fell, as he really did not expect exactly to see the samurai in such a state. He looked terrified at the redhead. "You really were not joking when you said 'almost killed him today'."

"He's here already?" she asked as she poured a bowl of soba and handed it to Jerry. "He can go fuck himself for all I care."

"Freya! You can't talk like this about your fellow comrades!" Jerry shouted, his voice heard in the whole hall, followed by a wave of silence. He turned to serve other people only to be met by Kanda. "Here you go, Kanda. Enjoy your meal!" he said after a few seconds of shock. After the dark haired man left, he turned back to Freya. "Okay! You're done for today. I can take it from here! Go rest, relax or do something else. I don't need you in this state in my kitchen!" He said as he ushers her out, Freya pretty much confused. "But before you go, eat your dinner." he added as she placed a tray of food in her hands.

Freya found herself in the hall, confused as to why Jerry would have kicked her out the kitchen. She made her way to the table where Lenalee and the white haired boy sat, passing by Kanda's table, not looking in his direction.

"Hello. Can I sit?" she asked the two exorcists.

"Oh, Freya! Hi! Yeah! Sit with us!" Lenalee said with a warm smile.

"I'm Freya Chesterfield. It's nice to meet you..."

"Allen Walker." the boy answered, his face a little bit pale.

"Let me guess... you have been to Hevlaska, right? She terrified you." she said flatly.

"Yeah... Komui doesn't know how to inform people about what will happen to them." Allen answered.

"Same old Komui. He will never change."  Freya said as she stared at her food. "I see your Innocence is also a parasite type. Mine is too." she said as she checked Allen's left hand before she opened her coat and showed him the big upside down heart on her chest. "My whole heart is made of Innocence. All my blood is Innocence. Anyway, I know how it feels to be cursed and to be an outcast. But it will get better in time. So, welcome home." she smiled at him.

The next day found Freya in the cafeteria with Allen, waiting in line to get their breakfast. After Allen ordered his food, they both turned around to hear some loud bickering.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" a man shouted.

"Hey! Stop it, Bazu!" another voice said.

"SAY WHAT YOU JUST SAID!" the man, Bazu, shouts again.

"Shut up, will ya." a low, stoic voice spoke as he placed their chopsticks down, Freya recognising the owner of the voice immediately.

"Hell, no. I'm not going to let that bastard ruin my morning." she grumbled under her breath. "Allen, order a sunny side-up with tomatoes for me. I'll be back." she spoke before going to Kanda's table.

"You guys are ruining my appetite by sobbing and having a memorial for the dead behind me while I eat." Kanda spoke without flinching in his seat.

"Why you... how could you say something like that about our fallen comrade?" Bazu talked, clearly much angry than before. "We, the finders, risking our lives supporting you exorcists, and yet... YOU'RE UPSET ABOUT LOSING YOUR APPETITE?!" he now shouted as he launched his fist to hit Kanda, but he was slow as Kanda dodges the attack and grabs the finder's neck.

"You're 'supporting' us?" Kanda asked with a note of arrogance in his voice. "Wishful thinking. That's all you guys can do. You're rejects who didn't get chosen by the Innocence." he was now strangling Bazu real hard. "If you want to survive, leave. There are tons of replacements for your puny life."

"Cut it off, Kanda." Freya spoke as she grabbed Kanda's hand.

"Freya is right, Kanda. That's enough." Allen intervened.

"Stay out of it, Allen." she said before turning her eyes back to Kanda. "I think I told you several times already that this is not the way to talk to someone, no matter what they do to serve The Order. Now, be a good boy and walk the fuck off and let me enjoy my breakfast, okay?" she was now squeezing Kanda's wrist really hard, making him let go of Bazu.

"Why the hell do you have to get involved in everything I do?" the samurai hissed at her.

"Because someone has to teach you a thing or two about living in a community, you arrogant butt. That's why. I'm the only sane person around here that has the guts to put up with your shitty attitude, okay? Now, leave, or I will make you, panifully." she spat the last sentence while her aura began to glow the same red as yesterday.

"Allen! Freya! Kanda!" someone shouted and the trio turned their heads to look at Reever. "Finish your meal and come to the command room! You have a mission!" he added as he was carrying a load of documents and assisted by Lenalee.

Oh... for God's sake... why...? Freya thought as she let out a sigh after she let go of Kanda's wrist, the place where her hand was already turning a hue of purple. She turned on her heels and left the two boys in the cafeteria, not bothering to eat her long forgotten breakfast.

-----------------------------------
After Reever amended to wake Komui up, Freya, along with Kanda and Allen were getting the details of the mission.

"My apologies. I pulled an all-nighter last night, so..." Komui trailed off.

"So did I!" Reever chimed in, angry.

"We don't have that much time. So I want you to get going after I give you your brief. Make sure to read the details in the packet you're about to receive." Komui said as Reever handed them the documents. "I want you three to go as a team." he added, making Freya and Kanda send jolts between them, making Allen feel uncomfortable and threatened that if he says one word, he will get hit.

"REALLY? Freya! Kanda! Did you two get in another conflict already?!" Komui scolded them, making the two exorcists tremble in their seats. "Well, too bad. I'm not having any of it. I'm tired of you two fighting and bickering over stupid things."

"Komui! Let's be serious here! I am the only sane person who can put up with this bloody prick in order to not kill anyone else in the headquarters, just 'cause he is irritated by anything and anyone. Is this really what I deserve?" Freya objects, while Kanda scoffs.

"You know you can just ignore it and mind your business, you cursed thing." Kanda spoke through gritted teeth.

"Kanda..." Freya trailed off. "What did I tell you yesterday...?"

As the dark-haired man was about to say something, he got hit in the head with a chart, letting out a whine, soon followed by Freya, the young female getting the same treatment.

"Enough, you two!" Lenalee scolded them this time, silencing them.

"An Innocence was discovered in southern Italy, and it's in danger of being snagged by an Akuma. You must destroy the enemy and retrieve the Innocence at once." Komui explained.

After the trio got ready, they made their way to the underground gateway, where they got set off on their mission by Komui after saying their goodbyes.
