"The white dress or the blue?" Elaine asks, holding the two dresses up.
"The white," Rebekah and Caroline say in sync.
Elaine set the blue dress down, picking up the white one admiring the silk fabric. It was comfortable and certainly flattering on the woman as it slit revealing her legs alongside an open back.
"So you ask Nik yet," Rebekah asks, sitting on her vanity as she checks her makeup.
Elaine flops on the bed, her silence giving an answer on its own. "Why can't we all just go as girl dates?" the blonde asks.
"Because you wanna go with Klaus." Caroline shrugs, flipping through a magazine.
"That doesn't mean I have to ask him," the vampire defends.
"No, but it means you should," Rebekah stands "its Nik he's head over heels for you he will say yes." The original sits at the edge of the bed, patting Elaine's legs.
Elaine sits up. "What time does it start again?"
Caroline perks up "Seriously" she asks a deadpan look on her soft features.
Elaine gives her friend a sheepish look. "You have to be there an hour early to help. It starts at 9, and we're getting ready together," she declares.
Elaine didn't really enjoy social events much but it is the Miss Mystic falls event and Caroline loved planning stuff like this so the vampire would go to support her friend, not to mention she was outnumbered since Rebekah also wanted to go.
Since the blonde was obligated to go, she thought Nik would be a good idea for a date. The hybrid had gone to Italy for a week to sort out some hunter business, and Elaine hated to admit that she missed the man.
Caroline and Rebekah had suggested the vampire ask the hybrid, but Elaine was still trying to build the courage.

"Well, why don't you just come back to town?" Elaine inquires, phone in hand.
"Because that's too much work and not enough blood," Kol chimes from the other line.
"So you're just lazy," the blonde teases.
She could hear the eye roll in Kol's tone. "Don't you have stuff to do," the original asks.
"You called me," Elaine says sweetly, standing from her seat on the couch.
"Yeah, and I regret it already," he mutters.
"Call me later," the vampire hands up before heading upstairs.
Elaine finally makes her way to Nik's art room, the hybrid sitting painting away a beautiful landscape.
The vampire knocks lightly to notify the man of her presents. He lightly turns in his chair, and a small smile makes its way on his face when he spots the blonde.
"Hello love, come in." he gestures for the blonde to step into the room.
Elaine complies, the comforting smell of paint and candles wrap around the air alongside a warm feeling in her stomach at the sight of Nik's smile.
"Hey Nik," the blonde starts, her voice sweet.
The hybrid pauses in his movement. "What is it, you need love," he asks amusingly, catching on to her obviously sweetened tone.
"Well since your so graciously asking" the blonde says nervously fiddling with the ring on her finger "Caroline is hosting the Miss Mystic Falls event and I need a date and usually I would go find one but that sounds like a lot of work so I was thinking maybe you would go with me" the blonde rambles.
Nik tries to resist a smile, but it falls on his lips anyway as he sets his paintbrush down. "You're asking me to be your date," he confirms.
"Oh please, Nik, I don't wanna go alone," she pleads, making her voice sound kinder.
Nik's crystal blue eyes dance with amusement "Well love that's a big task. What do I get in return?" he teases.
Elaine huffs amusingly before simply batting her eyelashes. "Oh please Nik".
He shakes his head, laughing. "I'll go with you, my dear," the hybrid caves.
A smile reaches Elaine's face, the kinda smile that lights up her eyes in a way that makes Nik simply mesmerized by the woman in front of him.
"Thank you so much, be there by nine, also no corsage. And I'm wearing a white dress black tie optional" the blonde finishes. She leaves a small kiss on Nik's cheek, making the hybrid's face heat up before walking toward the door.
"You owe me one Elaine," he calls out.
The blond turns just before leaving the room. "When you think of something, call me," she shrugs before leaving.
Nik sits in his chair for about 5 minutes, his heart not pausing from its rapid pattering in his chest. All he could think about was Elaine and her soft lips meeting his cheek.

The smell of fresh flowers and a light breeze howled through the air, and Elaine finished up preparations for the event alongside Caroline and Rebekah. The place was looking pretty with flower boutiques scattered around and people arriving in pretty dresses and suites.
Light music played in the back a soft melody of piano aa Elaine stood admiring the beauty of the area Caroline had made so beautiful.
"You look gorgeous, love," a voice mutters. Elaine turns to see Nik, his hair more curlier than usual, a look that Elaine found very pleasing. The hybrid wore a nice fitting black suit as a small smile painted his lips.
Elaine smiles at the sight of the man. "Well, you look nice yourself," she says, taking a step closer she brings her hands to his tie that was slightly loose, fixing it.
The two were inches apart, the smell of her so close simply intoxicating Nik as he stared down at the blonde, enjoying the way he felt when next to her.
The blonde takes a small step back. "Thank you for coming," she says softly.
"I'll go anywhere with you," the hybrid mutters.
Elaine laughs softly. "Always so flattering," she teases the man.
"Well, you're a woman who deserves to be told how special you are every day," the man answers softly.
Elaine smiles, her heart beating fast in her chest at the man's sweet words. As the blonde stood eye to eye with Nik's cerulean blue eyes and his rosey red lips, she had begun to realize how much she wanted to simply kiss the man. To simply let him in her heart and never kick him out. She wanted the man to kiss her and hold her how he did when she was scared or sad. She wanted to be by his side as she wanted him to be by hers. The realization struck her like a knife piercing her heart.
"Let's get you a drink love you look like you could use one," the hybrid says, slipping his hand in hers.
Elaine nods. "I'd like that.".

The two sat a bit far from the party on a stone bench on the edge of the forest. The soft melody of piano and violins drowned out by the sound of distant chattering as the two sat enjoying one another company.
The two sit side by side laughing about old stories lightly buzzed by the sweet taste of red wine only fueling their happiness.
"I think I found my condition," Nik states out of nowhere.
Elaine looks to the man, setting down her glass of wine "alright give it to me."
"I wanna take you on a date, a real one," he says.
Elaine laughs lightly "Yeah like where," she teases.
The hybrid stands, grabbing her hand and pulling her next to him. He pulls her close, wrapping an arm around her waist, the smile never leaving his face.
"I'm serious, let me take you out," he says, leaning a tad closer and pressing his lips together.
A beat of silence follows as Elaime stares into his truthful eyes. "I would love that," she responds quietly.
Nik smiles, pushing a strand of Elaine's blonde hair out of her face.
"Good," he mutters. "Is Friday night okay for you?" he asks.
Elaine nods. "Where are we going?"
Nik smiles amusingly "well that's a surprise love."
The blonde nods and grabs a hold of his hand, interlocking their fingers. "Come on, Care's about to give her speech," she enthuses.
Nik nods, following the blonde as she leads him back down to the party.

April Young had won Miss Mystic Falls. Elaine didn't know the woman well but congratulated her. Now, her and Caroline sat in the living room, sipping alcohol and gossiping. All the Mikaelsons were out, Rebekah and Nik each had business, Finn visited often but moved out a while ago, Elijah moved out a while ago too though he occasionally checked in and Kol was still out of town.
The two blondes giggled slightly intoxicated as they watched TV. Though they barely paid attention to the crappy horror movie, they were watching the two just giggling about stupid jokes.
The sound of the fire crackling and the ominous music blasting from the tv rang through the long halls of the living room as Elaine and Caroline cuddled up with soft blankets on the couch.
The sound of a clicked door echoes through the halls. Elaine pauses the movie perking up.
"Hello," she calls specifically, remembering Nik telling her he won't be home for another couple of hours.
The two blondes share a look, each perking up to listen, but before they could move, someone speeds over, throwing Caroline to the ground while another picks up Elaine harshly, throwing her to the wall.
Elaine immediately bares her teeth, trying to shove the body, holding her tight, but they keep her in their arms.
Elaine suddenly recognized the two, Charlotte and Adrian, two of Klaus's hybrids that still remained sired, well by their actions, probably not anymore.
Caroline thrashes in Adrian's grip as Charlotte speeds away with Elaine. The hybrid snaps Caroline neck before joining Charlotte, leaving the vampire unconscious.
