AND THEN YOU WERE PACKED, HESITANTLY READY TO SPEND THE REST OF THE HOLIDAYS WITH PEOPLE YOU HAVEN'T SEE IN ALMOST TWO YEARS AND EVEN THEN MINIMALLY.
you exited your front door, heading out of your apartment with kaburamaru and urara around your shoulders and a backpack and small suitcase in hand, being met with a car. you blink, in the front see was your master, kagaya ubuyashiki and his wife, amane, in the drivers seat.
you drop to an immediate bow as the door swings open, oyakata-sama carefully lifting himself out.
"[name], how wonderful to see you again"
"oyakata-sama, you grace me with your presence"
he smiles warmly, "please, stand"
you lift your head and stand.
"now, please enter the car as we pick a few others up"
you pause, "others?"
"ah, yes. we shall be picking up two others on the way back"
you just nod, but internally groan.
you could only hope it was someone you could stand. more like not uzui or giyuu.
you take a seat in the car cautiously, looking around at everything as amane starts to drive.
you grip the seat tightly, sitting stiffly.
about half an hour later, you stopped again.
you peer out at an extremely big, shiny house and immediately groan.
out came flashy old tengen, carrying a mountain of bags as he grinned brightly.
he shoved his bags all in the boot and paid oyakata-sama a respectful greeting before shooting in the back seat, tossing an arm around your shoulders.
your eye twitches. "uzui" you say grimly.
"[name]! how have you been!" he ruffles your hair and you slouch, clenching your fists.
he continued to babble his annoying ass off as you continued to drive, meeting at a small, bland house.
seeing the first signs of an emo loser, you groaned again.
giyuu shuffled out of the house, a backpack in his hand as he struggled to fit it in the boot with all uzui's stuff, managing to get stuck in the boot before amane went out to help him.
uzui, meanwhile, was laughing heartily.
within another few minutes, giyuu had entered the car, you stuck in the middle, being the smallest between the two men, both tall and uzui beefy.
it was awkward to say the least.
at least on yours and giyuu's end.
you were both miserable as uzui sung along to some song playing on the radio, making loud conversation with everyone.
you were more than thankful when you finally arrived to the holiday house of sorts, flying out of the car away from uzui.
you survey the large house.
it had about 14 rooms, one for each hashira, you assumed, one for oyakata-sama and amane, and one or two for their kids. but then.. what are the other ones for?
that question was shortly answered as a loud shriek and ravenous growl emitted from inside.
you, giyuu and uzui all pause.
suddenly, three teenagers burst from inside. one with crimson hair, one with yellow hair, and one with a boar mask.
you groaned loudly, "they brought kamado?! and his friends?!"
uzui laughed, patting your head as you irk.
"don't.touch.me"
"haha! settle down, little [name] (little shannon?)"
you roll your eyes.
you shriek slightly as uzui lifts you up under his arm.
"let's go inside!"
you slump and try to make it as difficult as possible for uzui as he drags you inside, though none of your attempts did much.
you gape slightly at the inside. it was massive.
there was loud conversation from in another room, so of course that was where uzui dragged you, giyuu following silently behind like a loser.
as uzui swung open the doors, you were all met with the rest of the hashira who went momentarily silent at everyone else's arrival before erupting into loud conversation again, rengoku dragging you and uzui over and mitsuri trotting over to giyuu with shinobu.
"young [name]! how are you?" rengoku questions with a big smile.
you shrug, "i'd be better at home"
he then waved to kaburamaru and urara.
"that's a new one!" he pointed to urara who flicked her tongue.
"yeah, he-" you stopped yourself, "i found him" you shrugged.
and then you were dragged down to the table as everyone chatted heartily, slouching in your seat.
though you didn't feel as grouchy as usual. you felt what you could say could be.. happy?
