"Grace, believe me, it wasn't us. They were the Irish. Luna put the gun down. Listen to me, you might regret loving me but I'd still love you with everything in me. I was wrong, you are not your father, and I'm sorry," he shouts over the storm's deluge, lowering the gun, and putting his hands up in surrender.
Tears blend with the rain on my cheeks as I murmur, "I'm so sorry for what my father did to you. I truly hope your parents find the peace they deserve. I'm sorry," and I pull the trigger, squeezing my eyes shut as someone pushes me and I sense pain washing over my stomach.
