it was later that night after a few valorant matches that foolish suggested to novah they went and visited karl at his house, a few other people would be there for a cookout including chandler, chris and his son and more of the mrbeast crew, not really having any plans they decided the cookout would be good for them.
novah was upstairs in the boy's bathroom finishing her makeup when he came in with furrowed eyebrows running his hands through his hair
"whats wrong?" she asked looking at him through the mirror
"my hair is getting so long again i dont know what to do with it" he replied
"come here" she sat on top of the sink with him in between her legs and started running her hands through his hair "have i told you i love your hair?"
"all the girls love my hair" he replied with a smirk
"are all the girls in the room with us?" she joked looking around "pass me that wax"
"i think i might just cut it" noah spoke as the girl styled his hair
"dont you dare" she gasped "i've seen some pictures of you with long hair last year and i cant be deprived of long haired foosh now"
"did you like my fooze cut?" he asked
"yes you looked just like edna mode my favorite incredibles character" she chuckled "alright all done"
foolish looked at himself in the mirror still between novah's legs, the girl looking at him in awe "thanks babe" and with that he gave her a peck and walked out of the room not giving her time to react to what had just happened
"holy shit" she whispered to herself finally getting down from the sink to finish her makeup
once she was done, novah and foolish walked out of the door hand in hand towards karl's house where light could be seen coming from the backyard, when they got to the door noah simply opened it to let them in and then walked them to the kitchen and out the backyard door where everyone was already
"HEYYYY YOU MADE IT" karl shouted as they walked out
"yeahhh we made it" noah exclaimed still not letting go of the girl's hand "guys this is novah novah this is everyone"
"hi nice to meet you" novah waved with her free hand as everyone greeted her back
"come sit the food will be ready soon" jimmy said
novah and noah sat down next to each other and joined the conversation, novah being included into it fairly easily. foolish hadnt let go of her hand until he got up to get them drinks and even now when they were in two different conversations he still turned his head slightly every few minutes to make sure she still looked fine
novah was in a conversation with cara and lia, chandler's wife and jimmy's girlfriend, they were currently talking about makeup and how cara's new concealer didnt seem to crease at all
"a new eyeliner is what i need" lia said "a good waterproof one, last night i cried reading my tiktok comments and ended up looking like a raccoon "
"oh no" cara said "im so grateful i dont get hate comments"
"people are just dumb and crazy they think they are entitled to have an opinion on my relationship because they are subscribed to mr beast" lia spoke with a scoff "and its like im not dating mrbeast im dating jimmy"
"what about you novah?" cara asked "do you get hate comments because of your relationship?"
"oh im um" she stuttered "we're not dating"
"oh" both girls said
"but you look so good together!" lia exclaimed
"yeah and the way you look at each other is as if you've been together for years" cara agreed nodding
"we're friends" novah said again "but i do get hate comments sometimes since i stream too"
"oh you do?" cara asked "what do you stream?"
"mainly minecraft" novah replied embarrassed, she was preparing herself for the negative comments to come by "but i do more games too"
"thats cool" lia said "i wish i was skilled enough with computers to be able to stream but i can barely work how to restart it sometimes"
novah chuckled lightly "i'll make sure to try and catch one of your streams soon" cara told her with a smile
"food's ready!" chandler shouted holding a plate full of burgers and hot dogs while chris walked behind him with a plate with steaks
all of them started eating while making small talk and sharing stories about some of their recent mrbeast shoots laughing the whole time, novah was in the middle of hearing karl's story about the time jimmy had been buried alive for 50 hours when she felt a hand hold hers and squeeze it lightly, she turned to look at the boy smiling at her
"you good?" he asked mumbling and she nodded smiling back at her squeezing his hand back

novah didnt know how they'd gotten to this point but karl and one of jimmy's camera men named justin were in front of the table in an area they'd deemed a stage singing breaking free from high school musical with microphones making an improv karaoke while the rest clapped and cheered for them. they weren't drunk, most of them had stuck to drinking beer, novah had only drank lemonade all night and this was just them having fun, but an outsider would've probably thought they were far gone.
when karl and justin finished their song lia and cara somehow pulled novah to sing with them and now they were up there singing you belong with me by taylor swift, dancing around with a smile in her face novah felt all warm and fuzzy inside, she felt content with where she was and the people she was around.
foolish was watching her with a wide smile and a twinkle in his eyes, to him she looked the pretiest she ever had with her hair down swinging as she danced around singing and having fun.
"close your mouth you'll catch flies" karl said sitting next to him
"what?" he snapped out of his toughts turning to look at his friend "what are you talking about?"
"novah" karl raised his eyebrows "you havent taken your eyes off of her since she got up there"
"im just watching them sing like everyone else" noah shrugged
"you are staring at her like she's the only one here" karl stated "just admit you're head over heels for her"
"shut up"
"so you dont care if i introduce her to justin?" the blue eyed boy asked
"introduce her to justin?" that perked foolish's attention
"he thinks she's cute" karl shrugged
"i dont think he's her type you'd be setting him up for failure" foolish said
"and what's his type? ohio minecraft streamers?" karl joked "dont worry i know how much you like her and it looks like she likes you too i was just teasing"
"so you are not going to introduce them then?" noah asked
"nope" karl said "but he does think she's cute so he might introduce himself, also you didnt deny that you liked her a lot"
and with that he was off clapping at the girls who were done with their performance leaving foolish thinking about karl's words. within only three months of knowing each other novah had become such an important part of him, he found himself thinking about her multiple times a day and talking to her at least for a few minutes a day was a norm for him now, he had never been so into a girl before but he was feeling surprisingly calm about it, it didnt scare him and he wanted to keep going and see where it took them.
novah sat down next to foolish with a new glass of lemonade putting her head on his shoulder feeling tired from all the singing and jumping
"having fun i see" the boy smiled down at her
"i love these people" she replied smiling as well "thanks for inviting me"
"of course" noah said "you fit right in"
"im so tired" she yawned
"wanna go home?" he asked
"in a little bit" she replied "can we watch gilmore girls for a little before sleeping?"
"yerp" he said "im waking up early tomorrow to go to the gym and then maybe stream for an hour or two"
"ohh can i come to the gym?" she asked perking up, she enjoyed working out but hadnt gotten around going to the gym in a while
"sure if you want to" he smiled at her seeing her yawn again "okay time to go i think"
she nodded and they both got up making their rounds saying goodnight to everyone before leaving once again hand in hand, when they got to noah's they both walked to the rooms they were staying in to change and once they were in their pajamas foolish walked into his room turning tv on laying in bed while novah took her makeup off and once she was done she joined him, they werent even halfway through the episode though when noah noticed novah had fallen asleep in his chest so he turned the tv off and held her closer deciding to go to sleep too.

hellooooo! im back from my trip and in case you're curious it was okay but halfway through it i got my period AND i was at the beach so that was no fun but oh well by the end of it all i wanted was to go back home (which im not yet sadly) it was also my first plane ride and i only had a minor panic attack for like 15 minutes after lift up so that was great! anyways i hope you enjoyed the chapter ◡̈
