Ash: -goes up to Mustard- Hey Master, I have a personal request
Mustard: What is it Ash?
Ash: Can you call Maylene to the island?
Mustard: -intrigued- Alright, I will call her tomorrow. For now get some sleeps
Ash: -nods- Right!!
-The next day-
Korrina: I see a boat
Mustard: Yeah that's her alright
-The boat docks and Maylene and Honey get off-
Korrina: Maylene!!
Maylene: Korrina!!
-They hug-
Korrina: It's been so long since we've last seen each other!
Maylene: Yeah!! -looks over at Bea and smirks- What's up...Bea
Bea: -looks back at her-
Maylene: -looks at her eyes- Huh... (Is she alright, she looks...tired)
Korrina: What brings you here?
Maylene: Oh Ash didn't tell you? He ask to specifically to help him train
Gloria: Ahha, tryin to one up us, huh Ash!?
Ash: Relax relax I just need to practice something with her real quick
Maylene: Why don't we go ahead and not waste any time
Ash: Right!
Honey: Remember to come back early for dinner, it's going to be special tonight! -smiles-
-Ash and Maylene leave to the location of Ash's boulder-
Maylene: It was just a couple of months ago that you defeated me, and I can tell just by looking at your that you've grown significantly stronger
Ash: Awe thanks!! Hey but quick question, why aren't you doing Mustard's training. I just thought it was a little weird since you did use to train with Korrina and Bea
Maylene: Well it's because I'm not from this region. My father and I are from region4 and I come here from time to time
Ash: Region 4? How is it over there anyway?
Maylene: We'll for one cold, very cold, it's the coldest region in the entire kingdom. But it's really nice and there's lots of stuff to do!
Ash: Alright, I might check it out sometime
Maylene: -smiles- Perfect! Mustard already filled me in on your training so I'm just wondering what you need me for
Ash: First off, how long can you stay here
Maylene: 4 days, cause that's when my flight to region 4 is
Ash: 4 days....ok then you're going to have to teach me the very basics
Maylene: Basics?
Ash: For the last month I've stop trying to break the boulder and focus strictly on training my Lucario physically, mentally, and spiritually. After each week we noticed our aura and aura sphere in general getting increasingly stronger, but then it hit me. Your Lucario's aura sphere is trained to a point where it can't miss, it'll lock on to an opponent's aura. Using that same principle we may be able to break the branch inside of the boulder
Maylene: Oh I get it, but there's one problem. It took me and Lucario several years to get our aura sphere to track an opponent perfectly
Ash: I know how hard it is, just last week we tried to replicate what you did against me and Urshifu, no luck at all. It's extremely difficult, but I just need to be able to do it one time and one time only. So can you please teach me at least the basics?
Maylene: O-ok...I'll try
Ash: Thank you! -throws a pokeball ball- Let's get started right away
Maylene: Alright, so...um what you need to do first is to form an aura
Ash: Ok, Lucario aura sphere!
Lucario: -charges and holds aura sphere-
Maylene: Ok aim at that tree, launch it, and try and physically move your aura sphere out of the trees path
Ash: Ok...
Lucario: -shoots the aura sphere but it's puts a hole in the tree-
Maylene: Um...that wasn't it
Ash: Can you be...more specific
Maylene: I-I'm sorry
Maylene: I've never taught anyone before, maybe a visual demonstration will help sorta -throws a pokeball- Alright Lucario, I want you to show these 2 how you control your Aura sphere, I'll join along
Maylene: Ready! Go!
Maylene: -mimics Lucario's aura sphere posture-
M's Lucario: -shoots the aura sphere at the tree and makes it miss-
Ash: -deep in thought- (It looks so simple but there has to be some kind of trick to it) Wait Maylene, throw a fully powered aura sphere
Maylene: Ok!
M's Lucario: -shoots an aura sphere at a tree which completely blows it up-
Ash: I see, those are two completely different aura spheres. My Lucario's aura spheres have more power and form to them, but the secret is how much aura is put into them. The aura sphere that is used to not missing is much smaller so you can control it better
Maylene: Yeah, you're right. We sorta just practiced until one day it just clicked. It makes sense the way you put it, the aura sphere's we used are never at their maximum output because it's harder to control them. Wait, I just remembered something. When me and Lucario first practiced he used his hands to guide the aura sphere
Ash: His hands
Maylene: Let me show you -moves Ash's arms in the position- Like this
Ash: Oh I get it, it's kinda like Lucario the control and the aura sphere is the remote control drone
Maylene: Sorta yeah. You need to start small and progressively work your way up
Ash: How far are you at this point
Maylene: We'll at this point my Lucario knows 2 ways of controlling Aura Sphere. 1, is to lock on to an opponent's aura so the aura sphere will always follow them. And 2, if there's nothing to lock on my Lucario uses his arms to guide to the aura sphere. I'm working towards a point where Lucario won't need its arms to guide the sphere, but it's extremely taxing and difficult
Ash: I see -stretches his arm- Anyway you're amazing for self-teaching yourself something as hard as this
Maylene: Hahaha thank you, I just love training. Also I just want to ask you about something, is Bea doing ok? She looked sorta drained by there
Ash: So even you notice. I'm not sure myself, but for the last couple of weeks I notice her whole demeanor changed a bit and she seems more angry in a way and overworking herself. I'm guessing that just her putting her all in these challenges
Maylene: I guess you're right, she's Bea after all. Well let's start practicing anyway
Ash: Right! Lucario, get ready!
