Violet chuffed back to the summerhouse, just in time to say goodbye to The Duke and Duchess.

Duke: Thank you, Violet. Without You, Spencer would never have finished in time.

Spencer: Humph.

Violet: It's no problem. Anyways, I have to go to Knapford now.

Spencer: Why?

Violet: To see Sir Topham Hatt, and That is none of your business, Spencer.

Spencer snarled as Violet started to puff off.

Spencer: You're going to tell The Fat Controller about that silly scrap engine. I'll get there first to make sure your plan doesn't work. That engine will be sent to the Smelters' Yard where he belongs!

So Spencer pumped his pistons and clickety-clacked after Violet. Violet heard Spencer's wheels whooshing and whirring behind her. Violet and Spencer had the race of their lives. Violet steamed over bridges and wheeshed through tunnels. She slipped through junctions and raced round bends. Spencer thundered and roared, but he couldn't get in front of Violet!

At a junction, Violet puffed ahead. Then she turned quickly onto a side track. Spencer thundered on then screeched to a stop. Spencer reveres back to the junction. He raced after Violet along the narrow track. The rickety old track went over marshland. Violet knew that it was the fastest way to Knapford. Violet huffed and Spencer puffed. Spencer was getting closer and closer. Then there was trouble. The track was broken and Spencer was too heavy. With a creak and a crack, the track snapped beneath him. The mighty Spencer slid into the muddy marsh. Violet screeched to a stop. She knew what had happened but she knew can do nothing.

Violet: I'm Sorry, Spencer. I didn't know that the track was broken. I'll go and get help. I'll be back.

And Violet steamed on.

[The scene changes to Knapford station at dusk as Violet arrives]

Violet arrives at Knapford. She was tired and dirty. Sir Topham Hatt was having dinner with The Duke and Duchess. The stationmaster telephoned him and asks Sir Topham Hatt to come to Knapford right away.

[They arrive minutes later]

Violet's traction rods were trembling. Her wheels wobbled. She knew now she had to tell Sir Topham Hatt everything about Hiro. Sir Topham Hatt listened.

Violet: Hiro is an old and important engine. My friends and I didn't want him scrapped. That's why we tried to fix him ourselves.

Sir Topham Hatt stared at Violet. Violet was worried. She was now sure Sir Topham Hatt would scrap Hiro.

Sir Topham Hatt: Did you say, Hiro?

Violet: Yes, I did, Sir?

Sir Topham Hatt: You mean "The Master Of The Railway?"

Violet: Yes, Sir.

Duchess: Oh. He's terribly famous.

Sir Topham Hatt: Famous? He's the Master of the Railway. Why did you think I would scrap the Master of the Railway, Violet? Why didn't you ask me?

Violet: Because I was very silly, worried and anxious to ask for your help, and even if I did, you might refuse to help me and send Hiro to the Smelters' Yard instead. So we tried to fix him alone.

Sir Topham Hatt: You're not alone anymore. We must help Hiro at once. Send him to the Sodor Steamworks. Victor will have his funnel bright and pistons pumping in no time.

Violet: You mean, you're gonna have him fixed, not scrapped?

Sir Topham Hatt: Of course, Violet. He won't be a scrap engine anymore. I understand that he's your friend, Violet. He'll become the Master of the Railway once again.

Violet was so excited she wanted to whistle and wheesh.

Violet: Thank you, Sir. Thank you. (puzzled)But what about Spencer then? He needs help too.

Duke: I told Spencer not to leave the summerhouse, and he did. So Spencer must wait his turn after Hiro.

Violet: (mumbles) Spencer definitely deserved it, I just couldn't say it to his silly face.

[The scene changes to Hiro in his siding when Violet arrives with excitement written on her face]

Violet: Hiro! I've seen Sir Topham Hatt. He knows you're the Master of the Railway. You're gonna be sent to the Sodor Steamworks, not the Smelters Yard.

Hiro's face shifts to excitement.

Hiro: Hooray for Violet!

Violet: Hooray for Hiro!

[The scene changes to Violet and Thomas taking Hiro to the Steamworks]

The next day, Violet and Thomas heaved and hauled Hiro to the Sodor Steamworks. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting.

Sir Topham Hatt: Welcome, Hiro. It's a pleasure to meet you after so long.

Hiro: Thank you, Sir. I thank you very much. And I thank you for Violet.

Sir Topham Hatt: Violet did her best. Victor will make sure that you will soon be Master of the Railway once more.

Victor: Of course, Sir. Anything for you. I will do my very, very best. We all will.

[A bang was heard]

Kevin: Sorry, Boss.

Victor: (sighs) I'm sorry, sir. Just a very slippy hook.

Sir Topham Hatt: So I see.

[Victor glares at Kevin then blushes as he smile's nervously at Sir Topham Hatt while Violet giggles]

Violet: Don't worry, Hiro. Victor is the best.

[The restoration begins and during that, Kevin falls over, making Victor roll his eyes in annoyance and frustration]

[The scene changes to a few days when the restoration is finished]

A few days later, all the engines went to see Hiro.

[Then Hiro moves]

He puffs forward slowly.

[Gordon, Henry, Edward and Toby gasp]

The engines gasp.

Thomas: Whoa.

[Hiro whistles]

Hiro looked wonderful, as good as new.

Violet: How do you feel, Hiro?

Hiro: Very happy, Violet. I never thought this day would come.

Sir Topham Hatt: Job done, Victor. Welcome back, Mater of the Railway.

Hiro: Thank you, Sir.

Sir Topham Hatt: Now, Violet. Go and get that Spencer out of the mud.

[The scene changes to Spencer feeling very sad and regretful while still being stuck in the mud]

Violet: Here I am, Spencer. I've come to help you.

Spencer: You can't help me, Violet. You are strong, but not strong enough.

Violet: You're right, Spencer, for once. But I have just the engine who can help. Good to see you finally stopped with your silly flirting for once, Spencer.

[Hiro puffs up, resulting in a very shocked Spencer]

Spencer: Who are you?

Hiro: I am Hiro.

Spencer: Are you the scrap engine?

Violet: He was the scrap engine.

Spencer: Blistering Boilers!

Hiro: Spencer, it's time to get you out of the mud.

[Hiro pulls up, with Rocky on tow]

Rocky: Hello Spencer. What do you know.

Hiro shunted and shifted Rocky into the right place. Very slowly and carefully, Rocky lifted Spencer back onto the tracks. And then with a mighty heave and ho, Hiro pulled Rocky and Spencer towards the Sodor Steamworks.

[The scene changes to Spencer at the Steamworks]

When Spencer was fixed, he joined Hiro and Violet. Together, the three engines worked on the summerhouse. They huffed and puffed their hardest.

[They finished work on the summer house]

Spencer: Violet, I'm sorry I thought you were tricky. And Hiro, I'm sorry I called you a heap of scrap. You're all fine friends. And I'm sorry for flirting with you constantly, Violet. I thought that if I kept on doing it, you would....

Violet: (cuts him off) Apology accepted, but I still won't forgive you for what you did, just make sure not to do the flirting again.

[The scene changes to the summerhouse at night]

That Night, Violet and Hiro were resting. Their axles ached and their wheels were weary. Violet saw that Hiro was sad.

Violet: What's wrong, Hiro?

Hiro: You have been very kind, Violet. The best friend I could ever have. But I want to go home.

Violet: I understand, Hiro. (gasps) I can help you. Wait here.

Before Hiro could puff Master of the Railway, Violet chuffed away slowly.

[The scene changes to Knapford station]

Violet: Sir, I need your help. I know you'll understand. Hiro wants to go home. Don't get me wrong, he loves Sodor, and our railway, but he's really homesick. He hasn't been home for a very long time and he misses his friends and his island.

Sir Topham Hatt: I understand, Violet. You did well to ask me. Of course, I will help you. Tell Hiro not to worry.

Violet smiles and she puffs away to the summerhouse. She was happy that she had The Fat Controllers' help.
