Ash: Oh hey Master Gurkinn! Yeah, your tips are pretty useful. Teaching Charizard Judo and Sumo Wrestling seems to really help
Gurkinn: Yeah, Charizard is a big fellow, it has fast movement and reaction time, but it's combat speed is slower than your Lucario and Dragapult. That's why teaching it styles like Judo, Sumo wrestling, etc. teaches it to use its strong big body to its advantage and deliver powerful attacks that naturally lead into other attacks. Next I'm thinking of teach you Lucario some Kung fu, Tai Chi, and bits of Karate
Ash: I don't really know Martial arts like that so what will those do for my Lucario
Gurkinn: They'll do a lot actually. Tai Chi is rooted in Taoist philosophy seeking to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit. It focuses on cultivating internal energy, promoting physical health, and achieving a sense of balance in the body and mind. Techniques consist of a series of slow, fluid movements known as sequences performed in a continuous and connected manner. Karate is similar in a sense, the training methods aim to develop posture, balance, coordination, speed, power, and mental focus. And Kung Fu is a personal favorite of mine, it encompasses not only physical techniques but also philosophical aspects of discipline, respect, self-cultivation, and the pursuit of balance and harmony. Training methods include repetition and sparring drills that apply techniques to refine timing, distance management, and defense.
Ash: I believe it I get. These 3 martial art styles are also perfect for mastering Lucario's aura. It is not trying to make power its main trait like Charizard, or speed, agility, and stealth like Dragapult. It's a perfect balance
Gurkinn: Exactly! Lucario's a special Pokémon that can exceed many things at once, that is one of the reasons why I made it my main partner. Now for that Kubfu of yours
Ash: Well, she's getting there, she's has a lot of natural strength, speed, and skill. I guess that's to be expected from a Legendary Pokemon
Gurkinn: Yeah, but she in particular has always been shy and timid. The only moves she known were focus energy, counter, iron head, and focus punch
Ash: I just recently taught it fire punch, so that 4 in total
Gurkinn: It is what it is. She's waits for her opponent to strike and delivers a single powerful and precise attack and repeats the pattern. I know a few martial arts that can be applied with her type of fighting style. Specifically Jeet Kune Do, Boxing, and maybe even a little archery and fencing.
Fencing is extremely precise and you're always moving around and archery is also fairly precise, but it'll be important for training Kufbu's back muscles the most. Kubfu type of fighting style is dangerous because you'll be taking a lot of hits and waiting for an opportunity to deliver a critical single blow. That's why boxing is also fairly good for it as well. But focus mainly on Jeet Kune Do, Jeet Kune Do rather emphasizes expression through movement. It is built upon a philosophy that the individual, and his or her expression thereof, is more important than any fighting system itself.
Ash: Hmm, I see. In that case why don't we start right now

Gurkinn: Pretty good, let's go meet up with my brother, he's has something planned for Kubfu

Gurkinn: Correct, Mustard and I believe it's time to show her the path to evolution
Mustard: Gurkinn will look after your Pokémon, now let's get
-Mustard and Ash head to Mustard's private docking area-

Mustard: These are the "Towers of Two Fist." The one of the left is the Tower of Water and the one of the right is the Tower of Darkness. You and Kubfu must pick a tower and proceed. When you do, you will fight 3 trainers in a row without stopping or healing and reach the final floor where a scroll is
Ash: What's in those scrolls?
Mustard: The scroll of darkness and the scroll of water. When Kubfu sees the opened scroll, she will evolve into either Urshifu single strike style, or rapid strike style.
Ash: Ok, I get it. Should we go now?
Mustard: Go right ahead, but be careful, both Towers are filled with strong trainers
Ash: That just makes it more fun, let's go Kubfu -they run towards the tower
Mustard: Let's see how the boy does
Ash: Now which Tower -thinking- Judging from the names I'm guessing single strike is the dark-fighting Urshifu and rapid strike is the water-fighting Urshifu. This is difficult
Kubfu: Fufu! -walks in the direction of the tower of her choosing
Ash: Ah, I'm an idiot, of course you're the one who should choose. So you want to go through this tower, then so be it, let's do this!
-They head into the Tower-
-The candles and light automatically lit up and the stage is now set for a battle-
???: So you're the challenge Mustard's spoke so highly about?

Brawly: Alright Ash, let's just got right to it! -throws a pokeball- Go Tyrogue! The battle will be a 1-on-1
Ash: Ok, Kubfu, kick into action!
Kubfu: Fu... -walks to the arena-
Brawly: -smirks- (You won't see this coming) Fake out!
Tyrogue: Rooo!! -leaps immediately to Kubfu landing an attack and flinching it before it could even react-
Ash: (Oh fake out! That was good!)
Brawly: Mach Punch!
Tyrogue: -at high speeds it throws a punch at Kubfu
Ash: Quick dodge!
Kubfu: -tries to dodge but is too late and gets hit by Mach punch-
Tyrogue: -leaps backward-
Ash: Use focus energy!
Brawly: Circle them!
Tyrogue: -goes around in circles closing in on Kubfu-
Ash: Eerrrr! (It's pretty quick and light on its feet. Kubfu can't land a precise attack yet with it moving that much. We need to wait it out) Just put your guard up and wait for the opportunity!
Kubfu: Fu! -nods-
Tyrogue: -repeatedly uses Mach punch back to back hitting Kubfu while zooming around the arena. It goes in for another Mach punch but...-
Ash: Now!
Kubfu: Ku -waits till it gets close and delivers a powerful critical hit focus punch sending Tyrogue flying-
Brawly: That's some punch!
Ash: Hehe (Tyrogue pretty fast but its punch's lack weight to them so Kubfu can take multiple hits. The plan worked perfectly, and Tyrogue should be hurting pretty bad right now
Tyrogue: -struggles to get up- Roguee!'
Brawly: Stand up quickly Tyrogue!
Tyrogue: -after a couple of seconds it stands-
Brawly: Ok good (Tyro can't take anymore hits like that or it's finished. We have the edge in speed so we'll use that to our advantage. But still, he's gotcha be careful moving near that thing) Mach punch!
-Tyrogue continues repeated assaults on Kubfu-
Ash: (Back to this strategy again eh?) Just keep blocking attacks!
Brawly: (Wait...) Now!
Tyrogue: -right before it hits Kubfu with another Mach punch, it's instead used headbutt which flinches Kubfu-
Ash: (Headbutt!?) Kubfu regain control quickly!!
Brawly: Too late!! Mega kick!!
Tyrogue: -combos off the flinch with a Mega Kick-
Brawly: Another Headbutt for them
Ash: Eerrrrrr, you know what, use your head as well!!
-Kubfu and Tyrogue proceed to but heads with each other -
Brawly: Hahah now that's interesting! However we ain't done yet Mega Kick!
Tyrogue: -lands a Mega kick-

Kubfu: -lands another precise and powerful blow doubling the damage done sending Tyrogue back many feet-
Ash: Oh yeah!!
Brawly: (Oh no! We're in trouble, that counter definitely did a number on Tyrogue. It won't be moving as fast as it was before which means Kubfu is going to be able to land attacks like that again, but I'm afraid Tyrogue definitely can't take another attack like that. The only real move that can help me here is Headbutt, yeah. I need flinch's so I can combo attack) Mach Punch!
Ash: (Ok good, the Mach Punch is much slower than the one before, now we're working with something!) Fire punch!
Tyrogue: -instead of clashing with Fire punch and side steps the attack and goes in for a Headbutt-
Ash: (That's it, he's trying to get flinches off. He knows Tyrogue can't match Kubfu's power and precision. Damn, she'll have to use her head again) Use your head!
-Kubfu blocks the attack with her head but takes some damage-
Ash: Fire punch!
Brawly: Mega Kick!
Tyrogue: -uses Mega Kick to block the fire punch but still takes some damage-
Brawly: Headbutt

Kubfu: KUBFUUUUU!! -clashes heads with Tyrogue but completely overpowers it and flinch's it in the progress-

-Kubfu lands another deadly attack not only sending Tyrogue flying but makes it faint in the progress-

Ash: Thanks for the battle Brawly -heads I. The elevator presses the 2nd button- That went well, and you didn't take too much damage from the battle. But we have to be careful -the door opens-

Ash: My name's Ash, nice to meet yah Maylene. Looks like I get to fight someone around my age
Maylene: Same here. How are Bea and Korrina doing? It's been a while since I've talked to them
Ash: They're doing fine and have grown a lot stronger. So you know each other?
Maylene: Yeah, we're all friends and used to train with each other. Bea always had her mind focus and she would beat me 7 out of 10 times

Kubfu: -proceeds to move forward and effortless Dodge all 6 stars coming face to face with Lucario-
Ash: (Wide and open!) Fire Punch!!
Maylene: -smirks- Vacuum wave!!
Lucario: -right before the fire punch lands it uses Vacuum wave to push itself and Kubfu back-

-The Aura Sphere and swift comes right back at Kubfu, but since it's airborne it can't evade and takes the attacks-
Ash: Shoot, Kubfu!! (The attacks came back!! She pushed Kubfu into them, that's going to be a problem)
Maylene: Swift is a move that can't miss, once you evade the stars they'll come right back at yah. Same with Aura Sphere, but do you know why some people's Lucario's Aura Sphere misses or can't miss?
Ash: Huh? Why is that actually?
Maylene: It's because it tracks the Aura in a Pokémon body, but training your Aura Sphere to track the opponent's aura takes years of mastery and experience. I'll show you what true hard work is!! Aura Sphere again!!
Ash: (I guess that makes sense, but that means Kubfu can't avoid Swift and Aura Sphere or else they'll come back, we have to face it head)
Kubfu: -looks at Ash- Kubbbb!! Fu!!!
Ash: (Wait, that's it!! I get it Kubfu) -smiles- Focus Energy
Kubfu: Fuu!! -focuses its energy which heightens precision and changes for critical hits-

Kubfu: -jumps over and evades the Aura Sphere landing in front of Lucario!

Lucario: -dodges the punch-

Lucario: Luuu!! -steps back gaining distance which gives time for the Aura Sphere to come back around-

Kubfu: -destroys the aura sphere with fire punch-
Ash: (I get it now, her Lucario's a zoner, it's style is to fight from a distance. That is why it has ranged moves like Aura Sphere, Swift, and she even uses Vacuum wave to escape close quarter combat. Rats, Kubfu's wasting its stamina dodging and destroying attacks. We need to close in on it and deliver a fatal blow. We'll try that then) -smiles-
Maylene: You've been smiling a lot for someone who's been losing so far
Ash: Us losing? Ha, we're just testing the waters, now we know how you play
Maylene: Figuring out my Lucario's style means nothing if you can't counter
Ash: We'll see about that, rush in Kubfu
Kubfu: -quickly sprints and leaps right toward Lucario-
Maylene: (Oh shoot, it closed the gap between them pretty quickly, Lucario can't use vacuum wave this close up, then we'll hit 'em with this!!) Meteor Mash!!
Lucario: -It's entire body glows as it's about to land a blow on Kubfu-
Ash: Take the attack!
Kubfu: -guards itself and takes the full force of the attack-
Ash: Perfect!! Counter!!
Kubfu: -drops her guard and lands a boosted counter directly to Lucario's stomach-
Lucario: Luuuui!! -falling down-
Ash: Fire punch!!
Kubfu: -right before Lucario falls it lands a Super effective critical hit fire punch to Lucario's face slamming it to the ground-
Ash: Just as planned. Zoner's usually have at least one close range move when the time comes. Looks like my prediction was right
Maylene: Eeerrrrr!! (He baited me into using a physical attack, this guy is good!! Lucario's hurting badly, damn that Kubfu hits like a truck!) Swift!!
Lucario: -shoots stars directly in Kubfu's face-
Ash: (Crap there's no time to dodge) put your guard up!
Kubfu: -takes the full attacks of the swift-
Maylene: A golden opportunity, Meteor Mash!!
Lucario: -gets up and lands a Meteor Mash on Kubfu sending it flying-
Maylene: (We have to keep our distance up) Swift and Aura Sphere!!
-6 Stars and an Aura Sphere head right toward Kubfu-
Ash: Eeerrr (Kubfu won't be able to dodge or counterattack all of them, well so be it) Fire Punch
Kubfu: -tried to activate Fire punch but falls down on one knee-
Ash: No Kubfu!! (The damage is starting to take its toll)
-All the attacks hit Kubfu pushing it back into a wall-
Maylene: Keep it up Lucario!!
Lucario: -uses Swift and Aura Sphere again-
Ash: (We need to try that...but Kubfu couldn't even conjure it last time. It's now or never, that move is our only chance!!) Kubfu remember that move we tried before, protect yourself!!
Kubfu: -nods and puts a serious face on- FUUUU!! -right before the attacks land it uses protect for the first time block everything out-
Ash: Ahhh yes!! You used protect!!
Maylene: Darn it!! It learned it on the fly!? Be careful Lucario! Aura Sphere and Swift
Ash: (I think I know how to beat it) Trust me Kubfu, use focus energy and dodge all the attacks!
Maylene: (What's he planning?)
Kubfu: -evades all the attacks and heads straight for Lucario-
Maylene: Wide open, Vacuum Wave!!
Ash: Jump over it
Kubfu: -jumps high in the air-
Ash: Use protect
Kubfu: -puts a barrier in front of it-
Maylene: Huh? -looks straight ahead- oh no Lucario!!
-The Aura Sphere and Swift head straight towards Lucario. Lucario's vacuum wave hits the attack exploding it in Lucaruo's face. Kubfu protect guards it from the explosion-
Ash: Finish it!!
Kubfu: -charges a focus punch and dives down- Fuuuu!!
Maylene: Dodge!! Oh no he won't make it!!
Kubfu: -lands a devastating Focus Punch on Lucaruo's back, resulting in it fainting-

Ash: -goes up to Maylene and shakes her hand-

Mustard: Although the 3 trainers I selected aren't using their main strong Pokémon, Hala in particular is still going to be a problem. Can Ash take the win? It won't be a easy battle that's for sure

Ash: Hariyama doesn't look like it's a fast Pokémon so we'll start off strong. Focus Punch!
Kubfu: Fu! -charges in and attempts to punch Hariyama in the stomach-
Hariyama: Yaaa!! -blocks the attack with its palm and then clenches it's fist holding on to Kubfu's arm-
Ash: (Rats! Kubfu's punches are as potent now, but now it has Kubfu's arm, we're wide open!!)
Hala: Arm Thrust!!
Ash: Protect!
Kubfu: -tries to activate protect but Hariyama squeezes on it arm- KUUUU!
Hariyama: Riiyyyaaa!! -lands 5 direct arm thrust on Kubfu while still holding on to it-
Hala: Vital Throw!!
Hariyama: -swings Kubfu around and chung's it into a wall-
Ash: Kubfu! -runs up to it- You alright!?
Kubfu: Fu...
Ash: (This is bad, Hariyama's too bulky, Kubfu's half powered attacks won't cut it. If that's the case, then...we need to use all of Kubfu's remaining strength to deliver one precise and powerful punch to end this. Kubfu's going to have to hang it there!)
Kubfu: -gets up-
Ash: -looks at Kubfu- I'm sorry for what I'm about to ask, but I need you to save your energy and wait for that perfect moment to release everything you've got left in one decisive blow, can you do that?

Kubfu: -charges a Focus Punch I'm her right hand-

Kubfu: -dodged the first 3 arm thrust but gets hit by the remaining 2 pushing it back-
Hala: You know Kukui spoke fairly highly of you. So let's see if you can get out of this!! Rock Tomb!!
-Hariyama surrounds them in a wall of rocks making a Sumo like stage-
Hariyama: -rushes for Kubfu and grabs its left arm-
Hala: Vital Throw!!
Hariyama: Yama!! -throws Kubfu into one of the stone walls, Kubfu ricochets back to Hariyama-
Hala: Arm thrust!!
Hariyama: -hits Kubfu with the complete 5 way attack sending it back into a stone wall-
Ash: Keep holding Focus Punch and use focus energy repeatedly! (He's using the Rock tombs like a wrestling rope, Kubfu can't take much more of this. Kubfu also can't dodge that well at all, she exaggerated most of her stamina. Now this battle all depends if Kubfu can take these hits, we just need to wait it)
Hala: Letting your Pokémon take a beating huh? Give it up Focus Blast!!
-The ball of energy circles right at Kubfu-
Kubfu: -puts its guard up and takes the attack head on-
Ash: Focus Energy! (You can't faint yet, we just need a good opening. Wait, could I try that? Charizard been trying to teach Kubfu that, Kubfu still has fully refined it. No, we can refine it later, we just need to use it for one time)
Hala: I'm disappointed, Hariyama Vital Throw!!
Hariyama: -heads straight towards Kubfu, grabs it's leg and throws it to a rock wall-
Ash: Now!
Kubfu: -lands on its feet firm on one of the stone walls-
Ash: Acrobatics!!
Kubfu: -zooms from one pillar to another building up speed-
Ash: (Almost there...) Go now!!
Kubfu: -flings straight ahead at Hariyama-
Hala: (Impressive!!) Arm Thrust!
Ash: Iron Head!!
Kubfu: -blocks all of the arm thrust-
Hala: Dynamic Punch!!
Hariyama: -used a close up Punch and lands the attack right on the side of Kubfu's body
Ash: That's just what we need!!

Ash: Counter Punch!!
Kubfu: KUUUUBBB!!! -Uses the damage inflicted by Dynamic Punch with counter, doubled it and added it onto the already fully charged and powered Focus Punch- FUUUU!! -Hit's Hariyama square across the face with a fully powered critical hit focus punch sending it flying. Shock Waves are emitted through the entire tower
Hala: (I can't believe it...)
-Hariyama is shown fainted-
Hala: -smiles- Looks like Kukui and Mustangs were right to have faith if you. You've done well -moves aside to show a staircase- You May go and receive your scroll, you've earned it
Ash: -bows- Thank you!! Let's go Kubfu!
-They rush up the stairs to reach another room-
Mustard: Ahha! So you defeated all 3 trainers -smirks and laughs- Remarkable indeed. Come over here boy, the scroll of darkness is on this wall
Ash: How does this work?
Mustard: Well these scrolls are hundreds to potentially thousands of years old, the writing on them emits the same energy a evolution stone or mega stone would, but only for Kubfu. All she has to do is look at it, and she will evolve. So Ash me boy, are you ready!
Ash: Yes! -nods- Ok Kubfu, come here!
-Kubfu walks up to them and looks at the scroll. After a couple of seconds it's body start illuminating in pure blue aura-
Ash: (Here it is!)
-Kubfu evolves into Urshifu-
Urshifu: FUUUU!!!
Ash: Haha, Urshifu!
Mustard: Excellent, Urshifu single strike also evolves with a new move, don't mind if you show us Urshifu?
Urshifu: Fu -nods and does Wicked Blow which sends the wind into Ash and Mustard's face-
Ash: Wow! That's some power, it might even have more natural power than my Charizard!
Mustard: -smirks- That's the skill of a legendary Pokémon. -smirks- Wait right here -comes in a corner and grabs a small box and hands it to Ash-
