THE NEXT DAY.
fuck, my alarm didn't go off. im late, why didn't anyone tell me. Lesson starts at 7:40, it's 7:35. i quickly get up and get dressed. i run downstairs and try and find a snack to eat. i rush back upstairs to do my makeup, skincare, brush my teeth and deodorant while eating.
I pull my notebook out so i can see my timetable. Potions, with Snape, great. I'm so going to get a detention. I run downstairs into the common room, and sprint in the halls.
"No running in the halls!" the prefect Percy Weasley shouted.
"sorry!"
As im close to the potions classroom, i start to walk to get my breathe back.
i open the wooden door.
"to page 289 on your textbooks." Snape said wearily. "how lovely for you to join us. it was getting rather..lonely without you."
"sorry i'm late sir."
"hm.. det-ention."
"what? it was 5 minutes!" i gasp.
"do you want to make that 2 days detention Ms
Bai-ly? Hm, theres a sit next to Mr Riddle."
I roll my eyes and look around for Mattheo. Once i find him i sit down and get my books out of my bag.
"i was wondering if i was going to have a partner." mattheo muttered.
"i was wondering if i was going to make it on time."
Mattheo let out a little laugh.
"Y/N isn't it?" he asked.
"Yep!"
"your the only person who's really talked to me. No one wants to speak with the boy who's dad is Voldemort."
"People are complicated here. They're all so caught up in their magic, they forget that people aren't actually what everyone thinks they are," i said.
"hey, what's your timetable?"
He pulls his notebook out. "i have this."
"i have the same timetable as you!"
"uhm, this might be too much to ask you, considering we just met. but i don't think anyone else would sit next to me apart from you. and i need help with subjects like herbology and stuff. i only know spells, but would it be ok if-" he blurted out quickly.
"yeah of course!" i say, smiling.
"Now, you need to get into partners for this practical. You will be working with the person next to you." Snape said.
"I guess we're working together."
"yep." i agreed.

"today we will make an invisibility potion. This potion will make you invisible for approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Please turn to 378 on your textbooks to see the recipe."
"Ok, Mattheo can you get me leaping toadstool caps, knotgrass spring, troll bogeys, leech juice, shrivelfig fruit and a knife and cauldron please." I look at mattheo, reading the ingredients and equipment out.
"yep, where do you get them from?"
"that 1st and 2nd cupboard on the left."
Mattheo and I both place down the leaping toadstool caps and cut them in half. I cut the knotgrass spring while he adds the leech juice in the caldron and use the stone of the shrivelfig fruit. i add the troll bogeys and we mix it. After a while of mixing, we're done. we were the first to finish.
"We're done sir." i say.
