The cold metal was pressed tightly against my body making me sigh in defeat. It was useless struggling,it felt like every time i struggled or moved around it got tighter.
Or it was simply me panicking at the lack of space and room to move.
I knew I'd never stand a chance against him, i knew I'd regret it.
I mentally slapped myself at the thought of outrunning the king.
King.
Should i call him that since im "mated" to him?
Will he reject me?
All these questions swam through my head almost making me wince in frustration.
"You'll be devastated" my inner voice muttered out.
Would i really be devastated?
Why would i?
I'm a mere mortal,while he controls us,specifically..me.
And i hadn't developed any sort of emotion him,yet..
Lost in my thoughts i didn't realize the door slam shut and pissed off Royalty strut in.
"You dare defy me,mate? "
"Yes"
"Excuse me?" he snarled.
" I dare you to repeat that."
"Yes"
I didn't understand where the bravery was coming from but my fear of the soulless beast had vanished when he growled in annoyance and muttered a few incoherent words under his breath earnings a chuckle from me.
His head snapped up,staring at me in anger,and..awe?
"You're not scared?" he asked inching closer by the second.
My head shook almost immediately.
"You should be,just because you're my mate doesn't give you the right to run away and embarrass me in front of my people" he hissed at me our noses nearly touching.
My breath hitched in my throat when he grabbed a chunk of my hair.
"You are to be chained to this bed until i say so" he glowered angrily tugging on my hair roughly so i was closer to him.
Aren't mates supposed to love each other?
Then why did my heart thump heavily in fear instead.?
