Chapter 13
THANKFULLY I CLEANED MY ROOM LAST NIGHT so it wasn't embarrassing when Edward walked in. It would've been terrible I had had one of my bras on panties laying around
"Welcome to my humble abode" I murmered now nervous at the idea of Edward being in my room
I had made my way to sit on my bed, taking my shoes of which left me in socks and Edward did the same
"Me and my family are different" he explained
"We don't drink human blood, we've learned to control our thirst"
"So what do you drink?"
"Animal blood. It's sustainable but it's like a human living on tofu. Never fully satisfied" Edward's eyes glanced around my room and once his eyes caught something he got up and made his way over to it. He ended up at my paint section
"Woah" I said panicked, quickly getting up amd following him covering my pictures with my body and hands
"What is it?"
"They're my drawings and paintings" I said quietly
"Can I see?" I bit my lip softly and shook my head
"Come on" he laughed
"I won't laugh if it's bad" i sighed and moved out the way so he could see some of my drawing, my thum moving between my teeth nervously
"You did all of these?" Edward asked turning bacl to me shocked and I nodded
"Tell me what they mean" he reached his hand forward and grasped mine is his before pulling me closer
"Um.. that's the rose I took a picture of on the trip to the greenhouse. The forest is for my project that I finished the other day. It said draw something that makes me happy. And forks makes me happy so I decided to draw one of the forests here" I looked up seeing Edwards gaze intently on me. Him being close to me was making me so nervous I could barely speak without fumbling
"I-uhm the wolf is from a dream I had and the butterfly one is from when a butterfly flew on my hand one time a few years ago when i visited my dad. T-this one is just me from a picture my mom took. And this one.. is you" I went quiet towards the end
"Though it doesn't do you justice. No drawing or picture could compare to seeing you in real life" I stopped my rambling with a deep breath
"You made me feel welcome here. You and your family. And i'm so grateful. I have a few drawings of them too" I hadn't realised my hand was still resting on mine and when I did I let go of his hand
"You're really talented Athena. I've seen gallery drawings not even close to this"
"I want my future to go somewhere along that path. Owning my own gallery or even becoming a tattoo artist. I haven't really decided yet"
"You'd be amazing no matter what you chose. You have a book about Witches?" Edward asked looking past me, his attention changing and when I saw what he was talking about I sighed
"You read that stuff?"
"No. It's someones idea of a joke. They left it on my doorstep adressed to me" he picked it up and flipped it around, his eyes skimming on the front and back of it
"Do you mind if I?"
"No. Take it. Keep it" I moved back over to my bed and laid back down, Edward following

THURSDAY
"SO YOU KNOW?" ROSALIE QUESTIONED THE NEXT DAY AS she stopped me in front of my locker at the end of the day. Her tone was cold but her eyes held a look of worry like she thought I would hate her
"Yes" I said bringing her into a hug. She let out a large breath as she hugged me back and I giggled
"Edward said human food taste like dirt to you guys. But you ate pizza for me. You did that for me?" She let off a small scoff but a smile was still prominent on her face
"I'm grateful"
"Yeah yeah" she mumbled shutting my locker and we both started to walk out of the school
"What are you doing today?"
"I'm going home to make cupcakes. I've been wanting some all day"
"Come to ours to make it" Emmett said appearing on the other side of me. I looked back to Rosalie who shrugged
"Would Esme mind?"
"No. God no. She would love the kitchen being in use and she already has ingredients for everything and anything we don't use - which is all - gets donated to a food bank"
"Okay then" I shrugged. We made our way to their cars where only jasper was
"Jasper looks like your gonna have to put up with me for a few hours" he let out a large groan that mad my mouth open in shock
"Your evil. And salty that you lost mario kart" his mouth dropped open in shock
"I was not salty!" He exclaimed and I nodded mocking him
"Emmett?"
"You were" me and Emmett both nodded at jasper who rolled his eyes and I caught sight of Edward making his way over to us. I quickly rushed over to Edward smiling as I reached him
"I'm going to yours to bake cupcakes" Edward let out a laugh
"Well since you're coming to my place I can drive you" I heard the others groan whilst Edward smirked
"That's not fair" Emmett said
"I asked first" I rolled my eyes and made my way to Edward's car with him beside me, opening the door for me
"Thank you" I whispered and he smiled as I took a seat before shutting the door and making his way to his side whilst I opened the window
"By the way guys" I said as Edward started up the car
"Carlisle and Esme are my favourite" I watched as their mouths all simultaneously dropped in shock and me and Edward laughed as he sped out of the parking lot
"That one really got to them"

"How are your piping skills so good?" Edward asked as he leaned over to look st what I was doing
"Practice. Cooking is fun for me so I do it often" once I finished piping one I lifted it up to Edward
"See. Easy"
"You're just amazing" I glanced back up to him, my eyes wide and cheeks red at the fact he's so close to me right now
"Thank you" I whispered bringing my attention back to the cupcakes to try calm down my fast beating heart
Cause assuming he's a vampire. He can probably hear it
"I can" he answered
"Edward!" I squeaked out
"Sorry I couldn't help myself. When hear your thoughts it's so shocking I can't help but listen" I looked up at him with a small fake glare
"We heard you know about us being a vampire" Esme and Carlisle walked through the kitchens doors and made their way over to us
"I mean, it wasn't as shocking. When Bella told me what she thought it all came together but I always knew you guys were different. I've been hanging out with you all enough to know something was different"
"We're glad your accepting" Esme said walking over and bringing me into a hug
"How could I not be? You guys have been so nice to me"
"Athena!" Jasper said rushing into the room pushing Emmett out of the way as they both tried to walk through the doorframe together
"Mario Kart"

FRIDAY
THERE WAS ONE THING I KNEW FOR SURE. AND THAT WAS that whatever I was feeling for Edward was not friendly. I mean, how could it really be when I look at him all I think about is how I want his hands on me, or wondering how his cold lips would feel against mine
So I felt that little extra better when he messaged me in the morning saying he was going to pick me up for school, especially since I felt awful
My body was aching, every single part of me, my limbs felt heavy amd my head was clouded. And it all came back to the medication I took this morning. I had felt fine up to then but as soon as it was in me it was different
But it's probably because it's my new prescription my dad picked up from me yesterday
I trodded down the stairs and made my way to Edward who instantly had a worried look plastered on his face once he saw me
"What wrong?"
"Nothing" I shook my head wincing at the movement
"Just-" I stopped myslef
"Feeling a bit bad. But i'll be better soon" even though the worried expression didn't drop from his face Edward still opened the car door for me and I got inside
Once Edward had done the same he started up the car and made our way to school
"Athena" Edward whispered glancing over to me for the hundreth time as i winced once again
"If your ill you should be at home getting some rest"
"It's not that i'm ill, I- i'm just on some meds at the moment. It's different to my usual ones. It might take some time to get used to them" I know Edward had questions but thankfully he didn't say anything
When we finally pulled up to the school we waited in the parking lot for a second and I picked up my bag, whimpering
"Athena" he whispered placing his hand on my cheek and I let out a small sigh at the coldness
"Gosh your burning up"
"I'm okay" I whispered. He rolled his eyes at my persistence and got out of the car, making his way over to me and opening my door
I got out of the car and he shut it behind me, taking my hand and leading me inside. I knew there was people watching, there always were when I was with the Cullens and although it made me slightly uncomfortable, I ignored it

Lunch had finally come and I was sitting at the Cullen table, my head in my hands as I tried to make myself feel better
"What's wrong with her?" Rosalie asked
"She thinks it's her adjusting to her meds. She's not letting me take her to carlisle" Edward grimbled, his hand resting on my back as I tried to comfort me
'She doesn't look fine'
"I am fine jasper" I mumbled rubbing my temples and the table went quiet at my words
"Athena. He didn't say anything" I glanced up for a moment seeing all their eyes on me
'I want to go home'
'Schools so boring'
'The food at school is the best'
My eyes darted around the room nervously, my eyes filling with tears as I realised what was happening. The dosage was higher but I could still hear the voices
'I wish I could go to prom with Bella instead of jessica'
'Mrs holister is hot as fuck'
'Why can't my dad pick me up today?'
"Oh god" I whispered
"Athena? What's going on? Speak to me darling" I was out of my chair the next second and I ran out of the cafeteria making my way to the hallway
Once I was inside I threw open the nearest classroom and slid down the wall, the voices still banging through my head
'How long until schools over?'
'I wonder if she'll sleep with me?'
"Athena" I hated how Edward must be seeing me right now. Sitting on the floor, hunched over my legs while my hands gripped down onto my scalp as if I were trying to rip my hair out.
"Sweetheart, what is it? What's wrong?" he spat out quickly as he kneeled down onto the floor in front me. One hand went to my lower back as the other rested on my thigh, trying to bring me as much comfort as possible
Hearing Edward's voice, I slowly pull my heavy head up, but my breathing is too heavy to get anything out. I'm practically hyperventilating at this point and if I didn't stop soon I was gonna pass out
"Shh, it's okay. Calm down, I'm right here." he continued to use his soothing voice and his large hand running across my back to do the trick, but this was the worst he's seen me
"I'm so sorry" i sobbed
"I could hear them again. The voices won't go"
"Breathe, sweetheart."
