"I know she believes that mum's death was not because of suicide." Elsa said to Alex.
Alex nodded agreeing with that. "She did. That was what she was investigating on."
"Investigating on... How? By being friends with Victoria? ... And does this have anything to do with marrying Jeremy?"
Alex leaned closer to Elsa so that she can hear her clearly despite the loud music.
"Elsa, Gwen befriended Victoria to get closer to the family. Mostly Esther, because that was the one she suspected on having something to do with Jenna's death and making it look like a suicide."
Elsa was still very much confused with that theory.
"But, mum committed suicide. She was found with a rope that was hanging on a hook on the ceiling tied to her neck.
She hanged herself." Elsa said as she tried to stop her brain from imagining that picture.
"She was. But, there was a drug found in her body. A drug that could have caused that."
"What drug?"
"First, the reports say she was suffering from illusions and one day it was too much for her so she took her own life...
"But sodium pentothal was found in her system. Gwen was suspicious to why because it was not in her prescription. But, they said it was no big deal she could have been given the drug because it isa psychotropic drug."
"A psychotropic drug..." Elsa repeated tasting the words. "Is there something about that drug that made Gwen suspicious of it?"
"Yes, there is. It's a psychotic drug, yes. And sometimes it is used as anesthetic. But also, it is used for hypnosis because this drug opens your mind to suggestions that you listen to without questions. Jenna was fade pills that had sodium pentothal . For the people on the verge, like Jenna, it would break down their emotional defense. They would be willing to do anything they are told. They can even be willing take their own lives."
"Oh my god!" Elsa exclaimed.
"Could that be what happened to mum?"
"Gwen believed so. That was why she had applied to work at the hospital. But she didn't get to do much investigation before things started going south."
"How do you mean?"
"Esther found out who Gwen's mother was. She and Victoria started threatening her. They didn't want her to be investigate on their family. Probably because they did have something to hide.
"And that is when Jeremy Callahan came in."
Elsa got confused, "Could you explain that?"
"Sure.. You see, Jeremy is untouchable. He is someone nobody goes against. Victoria marrying Jeremy would have helped make sure her mother got away with what she did.
"Wait wait.. there is something I haven't told you which is important.
"Gwen had just found out that through her own investigation that Jenna, despite the hospital refusing to let you both visit her, she had another visitor. Well, two visitors but one of them came mnore often that the other. And this visitor, after some time she started working there as a nurse."
