VALERIA SITS IN the passenger seat of enzo's car, glancing at the three sleepy people in the back as enzo pulls out gas money.
"you guys are so lovey-dovey it makes me physically fucking ill." zac is the first one to speak up when enzo leaves the car.
"we literally did nothing affectionate."
"val," corinne sighs, joining in on the conversation, "do you see the way he looks at you? it's so painful to watch because i know that'll never be me." she jokes, wiping non existent tears from her eyes.
aliana eyes corinne skeptically.
"what?" corinne furrows her eyebrows.
"you know what." aliana laughs, making corinne roll her eyes.
"WOAH? YOU HAVE A SECRET BOYFRIEND?HOW COME ALI KNOWS ABOUT IT AND I DONT?" valeria yells, clearly offended.
"you're gonna freak out."
valeria scoffs, "that's not true!" she says, already freaking out. what about corinne's secret boyfriend would have valeria freaking out?
"hey, why don't i know?" zac asks, confused on why he's left out.
"you two will find out eventually. let's just forget this conversation happened and wait for enzo to finish pumping gas!" corinne puts on a fake smile as valeria and zac groan.
VALERIA SITS IN THE cafeteria, eating the school lunch as zac makes fun of her.
"of course you're eating school lunch."
"what does that mean?"
"it means you're a hungry hippo."
"zac, how old are we?" valeria sighs at his childishness. he shrugs and turns to enzo.
"are we going to the party this saturday?" zac asks, looking directly at enzo.
"why is that question directed at me?"
"you're the only one who knows how to drive —besides valeria but you already know she's gonna be hammered."
"i know how to drive too!" corinne defends.
"pfft." is all that comes out of zac's mouth.
valeria joins in on the conversation, "your license is still revoked."
"yeah from like three months ago." corinne scoffs, trying to make it easier for herself.
"i don't know what your goal was with the statement but it didn't help." aliana says, making enzo laugh.
"are we going to the party?" corinne switches the subject.
valeria sighs, not liking the idea of a party. she prefers small gatherings with people she actually knows.
"i'm down if you guys are." corinne says, watching the group nod their heads. "how about you val?"
"mhm." she gives in, not wanting to ruin it for the group.
CHRIS SITS AT HIS lunch table as everyone's silent. matt's on his phone, nick is playing with the fries in front of him, gigi's looking around aimlessly, and chris has his head down.
it's a thursday and that means even closer to the party. chris hates himself for accidentally admitting to go to a party, but he didn't want to cancel on gigi because she seemed really excited.
chris had absolutely hated parties ever since two months ago. he sighs and opens his phone.
he goes on instagram and searches up val.clems.

chris scoffs, causing nick to take a peak at his phone.
nick looks at him skeptically, not exactly knowing what to say. it used to be so easy talking about her because it would just be chris drooling over her, but things are different now.
"guys!" gigi interrupts, making nick and chris break eye contact to look at her. "were you listening to a single thing i said?"
"duh," chris says.
"okay, so what exactly did i say?" she challenges, making chris look over to matt for help.
matt shrugs and takes a guess, "the party."
"yup! thanks for listening."
matt nods. he feels bad for not actually listening to her since they've been friends for two months now, but hearing her talk about a stupid party is so uninteresting. not even for matt, for all of them.
