When she heard that, Elsa's eyes went wide in both shock and relief.
'Someone here knows I'm Elsa?...'
"Elsa?.... You know I'm Elsa?"
Victoria maintained the smile on her face, "Of course." She then looked at the urn in Elsa's hand. “And that must be Gwen, am I right?"
Elsa's heart started doing a weird rhythm. She had a very weird feeling that she couldn't pinpoint where it came from and why.
But still, she just nodded to Victoria's words. "Yes. It is her ashes." She said in a low voice.
She looked at Victoria closely, just observing her as she asked the obvious, “So you do know I am not Gwen, right?"
"I do."
Elsa felt like this was an answered prayer. Like she can finally get out of this mess. Maybe this girl can be the one person who can get her out of this.
If she tells everyone Elsa is not Gwen, then she will be free to go.
Elsa's big round eyes lit up as she asked, "Then can you help me?... Maybe tell Jeremy that I am not Gwen. He might believe it coming from you."
Victoria's smile slowly dropped. She shook her head lightly, "No Elsa, I am not telling him that."
Her answer confused Elsa. “And why not?"
Victoria didn't reply and just reached for her bag and took out some papers and handed them over to Elsa.
Elsa was puzzled but she took them anyway and read them. They were divorce papers.
"Sign them!" Victoria ordered. Her voice not as gentle as before. More bossy and snotty now.
Elsa raised her head and looked at her still feel clueless. "Why are you giving me this?"
She was confused at that. Why didn't Jeremy give it to me? And his space is empty so Victoria came to her first.
Meaning she made this papers?
Victoria's eyed Elsa up and down and sneered, “You listen here Missy, Jeremy is my man and you came to my wedding and ruined it for me trying to take him away.
"You actually thought you could have him just because you got him to marry you?... He is mine you hear me?...
"Now sign it!"
Elsa was puzzled with this woman right here. "Victoria, i did not even want to marry him. If you know I am not Gwen then you must know I don't even know him or want any of this. He forced the marriage on me. How do you even know he'll agree to divorce me?"
Victoria scoffed like she had just heard a joke that wasn't that funny. "He will if you ask for it!" She said in a serious voice.
"What do you mean?"
"He only had to marry you and that's it. He doesn't have to stay married to you. If you are the one who asks for a divorce, he will certainly give it to you."
Victoria was obviously being vague on purpose about the details. Elsa did not have the slightest idea what those words meant.
Because to her, she had no say in the marriage. How would she now have a say in the divorce?
But, she said, “He only married me because he thinks I am Gwen. Maybe if you tell him I am not, he'll divorce me immediately."
