Chapter 8
"DID YOU KNOW LEONARDO DA VINCI WAS LEFT handed. Just like me!" I said rambling to Edward as we walked out of school, my hands moving about as i spoke exitedly
"But as well as using his left hand to write, he wrote back to front, so instead of writing from the left to right on a page he wrote right to left which meant that, for many years, people were unable to understand his notes" we stopped in front of his car
"This made people to believe that Da Vinci wanted to keep his ideas secret!"
"How facinating" looking up to Edward I noticed he was just staring at me though it didn't seem like be heard a word I said
"Did you even hear me talk?"
"Uh huh..?" His words came off as a question and I let off a small laugh and looked to see Bella making her way to her car
"I've got to go. Bye Edward" he smiled at me and I turned on my heel before I made my way over to Bella
"Hey bells" she looked up at me, a awkward look plastered on her face
"You sat with the cullens today?" I nodded and leaned against the side of the truck
"Alice has been trying to get me to sit with her for a while now"
"And you and Edward.. you seem pretty close" I shook my head laughing softly
"Crazy lady"
"I'm being serious" shaking my head I looked across the parking lot, seeing Edward still at his car talking to his siblings and like he felt my gaze he looked over to me
I couldn't help the small smile that appeared on my face as I caught his eyes which proved Bella's point so I quickly turned my blushing face away and looked to Bella who's eyebrows were raised in a 'You defiantly can't lie now' look
"It's nothing" I mumbled amd Bella just laughed but I was brought to the attention of squeaking tyres and a horn. Both me and Bella turned the loud sound as saw Tyler's car heading in our direction
Without another thought I reached my hand out to push Bella put of the way, but without even touching her she went flying 10 feet away from the scene
I didn't have time to process what had just happened and how Bella ended up away from me because my movements were too slow. I didn't have enough time to move myself
I backed up, my back hitting the truck as tylers moved closer.
But the next second I felt someones hand wrap around my waist, my head being buried in their neck. The coldness was familiar as well as the scent of honey and vanilla. It was Edward
I looked up just In time to see him reach his hand out, pushing against the vehcile that had only now, against the strength of Edward started to stop whislt the other one stayed around me, making sure I was safe
My arms wrapped against Edward's neck as I held him tightly
"Athena? Are you okay?" I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out
"Speak to me love? Are you okay?"
"I'm good" I whispered leaning up to look at Edward. His face was so close to me, his breaths mixing with mine. He nodded, breaking out eye contact and looked me over before leaving kiss on the top of my head and getting up and jumping over the trucks
I looked to the side seeing Caleb standing over Bella who was leaning up on her elbows, her mouth agape in shock
How did Caleb get here so fast?
How did Edward get here?
It was all at once all my senses seemed to be getting back to me. Bella jumped up and rushed over to me before she helped me up off the floor and it was then Tyler's head popped out of his window
"Bella?! Athena!?" People chrosued as they made our way over to us
"I'm so sorry. I panicked"

"Athena. Bella. Are you okay?" Dad said as he walked into the hospital room.
"You and I are gonna talk" He said pointing at Tyler. He immediately made his way over to us and once he got close to me I brought him into a hug
"You alright?"
"I'm fine dad. Calm down" Bella said to him
"I'm sorry girls I tried to stop" Tyler said to us but my dad just placed his hands on his hips
Bella: "I know it's okay"
Once the nurse was done with Bella she moved over to me and took my blood pressure
"No it's not" dad spoke
"it sure as hell it's not okay"
"It wasn't his fault" I added
"You girls couldve been killed. You understand that?"
"Yes. But we wasn't. So.." Bella said glancing to me. We haven't had a chance to speak about what happened yet cause we haven't had time alone yet
"You can kiss your liscense goodbye" the doors opened once again and this time Dr Cullen walked through
"I heard the cheifs daughters were here. Seems like one of them can't stay away" he glanced to me, a teasing smirk on his face. Him and my dad both greeted eachother
Me: "Actually.. this one wasn't my fault" he chuckled
"I've got this one jackie" he took the clipboard out of the nurses hand who then walked away
"Isabella"
"Bella" she corrected
"Well Bella, it looks like you took quite the spill"
"Not really" she shrugged
"Athena.. pushed me out of the way" she said trying to find the right words
"I just hit my head a bit but it's better than what could've been"
"How do you feel?"
"Good" He held up his finger and shone a light in Bella's eyes
"You might experience some post traumatic stress or disorientation but your vitals look good. No signs of any head trauma. I think you'll be just fine" he moved to the side and stood in front of me, doing the same thing and I followed his finger with my hands
"How do you feel Athena?"
"I'm so sorry guys. I'm really-" tyler was cut off by dad shutting the curtain that seperates the bed
"I feel fine. I wasn't hurt"
"Thanks to Edward" Bella added in
"It would've been a whole lot worse if he wasn't there, he knocked her out of the way"
"Edward, your boy?" Dad asked Dr Cullens who's attention was now very much on the clipboard he was holding
"Yeah it was amazing" I said
Bella: "He got to her so fast. He was no where near her"
"Sounds like you were both very lucky" he said with a smile before he walked out

Me and Bella were finally released from the hospital so we made our way put of the room
"I gotta go sign some paperwork. You should.. you should probably call your mom" Bella's face dropped when she heard dad say that. I'm guessing she can imagine mom worrying her ass off
"Did you tell her?" He shrugged his shoulders and Bella sighed
"She's probably freaking out" Bella pulled out her phone and moved to the side but then she came to I stop. I walked forward seeing Rosalie, Caleb, dr Cullen and Edward standing there before Rosalie and Dr Cullen walked off.
Bella walked out and went over to Caleb and Edward made his way over to me
He stood there, still for a moment as he waited for what I had to say but instead of speaking I pulled him into a tight hug
My hands wrapped around his waist as I held him tight and slowly I felt his arms wrap around me to
"Thank you. Thank you so much Edward"
"It's nothing really"
"Without you I would've died. I- I owe you my life" his face scrunched up at the idea
"You don't owe me anything. Except maybe the reassurance that you will stay out of trouble" I giggled softly
"I'll try" we stood in silence for a moment before I finally asked the question that was on my mind
"How did you get to me so fast?"
"I was standing right next to you Athena"
"No. You was at the other side of the parking lot. And you also pushed the van away with your hand" i said and he let out a small sigh
"How did did you push Bella away without touching her?" Now that the question was flipped on me I didn't know what to say to that
"I- i dont know it's never happened before. But you can't tell anyone"
"Why not?"
"Edward please. everyone already thinks I'm crazy" my eyebrows were pulled forward in desperation
"I don't think your crazy"
"Please"
"No one will find out" he nodded and I looked back to see Bella storming off from her conversation with Caleb
I knew the cullens had something to hide and Edwards flip on the conversation proved that
I hugged Edward once again
"Thank you for saving me" I pulled away from him and took a step back ready to leave
"Your secrets safe with me too" his movements froze but I didn't pay that any mind as I walked away

After waking up to use the bathroom in the night I made my way back up the ladder and shut the door behind me
I shivered as I felt a breeze hit me up when I look up I see the window open. My eyebrows drew together as I didn't remember shutting it and as I walked up to my bed I saw a sheet of paper on the floor. I picked it up and placed it on my desk seeing it was the picture of Edward I was drawing which was only half way done
You could tell it was him but no drawing could ever compare to how he actually looks in real life
I yawned and got back in bed before turning the lamp off and leaving me in pure darkness

"So you guys think she's not human?" Carlisle asked all the kids while him and Esme stood together his hand over her shoulders. they have just come back from the hospital and they have all been telling him exactly what they saw at the parking lot earlier
"Yes. No. Maybe. We don't know" Alice said confused
Jasper: "She pushed Bella away without touching her Carlisle. There's not really another explanation for that"
Esme: "But that's not enough to say she's not human"
"Alice can't always see her future sometimes" Emmett piped in
Caleb: "And Edward can't read her mind all the time either"
"That could be genetic though because he can't read Bella's mind either" Carlisle said
"Well whatever she is she don't know about it, she thinks she's crazy" Edward spoke. He knew this was affecting his mate more so bad than good and there will become a point when it becomes too much
"I'll find more out. Is there any way you can get more information?" the attention turned back to Edward. He had been trying to get to know Athena because she's his mate and he's already falling for her. So he wants to find out everything he can, but there was one subject that never goes to far in a conversation
"She doesn't like talking about it, she hasn't even told me she's schizophrenic yet. I'm waiting for her to tell me when she's ready"
"Maybe.." Alice whispered before shaking her head disregarding the idea but Edward picked it up. his eyebrows furrowed as he thought and as he did it seems everything kind of fits into place
"What?" Rosalie asked not liking to not be kept in the loop
"Maybe she's not schizophrenic" He spoke Alice's ideas aloud
"She is Edward. She's been diagnosed by many different therapists" Carlisle said shutting it down
"Because she hears voices, but what if they're not all in her head? But they're other peoples thoughts?"
"You think she's telepathic"
"You said her meds don't always work right? That could be why, you can't just stop being a telepathic"
"We can't just assume this. She's been hearing things since she was five years old. If she actually is telepathic then this could change her whole life"
Emmett: "But it will be for the better"
"That means you'd have to tell her about us" Rosalie added
"But if she's supernatural then that won't matter. We'll be helping her. And beside she's Edward's mate so she would find out anyways it's just a matter of when" Rosalie was the most protective when it came to keeping their secret but they found even she seemed to agree
"There's no way to know for sure guys"
