As his lover died,
He had lied.
He said he was happy,
As everyone looked at him madly.
The unshed tears
Had told an untold fear,
Had told an untold story,
Had told an unspoken sorry.
As he stood at the grave,
He knew he could no longer be saved.
He sat down a flower,
In hopes he wouldn't sink any lower.
He had achieved his ultimate freedom,
But stood alone in his lonely kingdom.
Like a bird he felt free,
At least that's what he wanted people to see.
But as his mask fell,
He became an empty shell.
His wings were broken,
And he had fallen.
