Chapter 17: The City of Eternity and Disappointment: eye-opening factors.

The chapter where Squad 13 finally visits the glorified city of the Cerasus. Although now that this time they had seen a REAL city in their lives, how will their opinion about their city be affected? And how will Zorome react when he eventually realizes about the differences between APE's adults and the Federation's adults? And will he explore and get lost through the city alone this time? And what will everyone do once he is separated from everyone else? Read to find out!

APE's HQ 'Cosmos'...

Marmoset: - We just received a communication from Plantations 21 and 44: the mission has failed with the total loss of Plantations 15, 31 and 77 alongside their squadrons. –

Papa sighed as it showed that eliminating the Disavowed will prove to be harder than expected. They couldn't have the luxury of dividing their forces in two to hunt down the troublemakers considering they needed them for the siege. As such he was soon forced to make a decision he didn't like...

Papa: - Are you sure that nothing survived to their rampage? –

Marmoset: - Nothing. The reports and footage recovered coincide with what we feared after we lost communication with the expedition Plantations: all the cities were left in ruins and the recovered Franxx were damaged beyond recognition, and some bodies simply disappeared, presumably the survivors being picked off by the klaxosaurs after the battle. –

Papa: - Then that does it. We cannot risk any more units for another hunting expedition now that we are preparing for the siege... alert all Plantations about the Disavowed and order them all to rendezvous at the Gran Crevasse through any means possible. Those who are unlucky to encounter them will NOT engage them unless necessary. –

Gorilla: - But this will leave all the Eastern Plantations open to an attack from those terrorists! –

Papa: - We have no other choice on the matter. Only the likes of the 9's and Squad 13 are skillful enough to face them, but both squads are needed for the siege. –

Vice-Chairman: - And what about their mentors? Atlas squad has proven time and time again to be in a superior league to our regular ones. Maybe we can use the alliance pact to send them or another ace squad to deal with the Disavowed. –

Tarsier: - Hmmm... that sound like a good alternative. Unfortunately, the location of the Cerasus and the Oletros is too far away from the region that is now on danger. And from what data we have recollected, the Gran Crevasse lies through the shortest route available from the SMC ZO (Zone of Operations) towards the Eastern regions. This will reveal them to HER and maybe force her to act earlier. –

Vice-Chairman: - That's a good point... this calls for delicacy. What do you think we should do Papa? –

Papa: - I will think about a method involving such care... in the meantime, make sure to prepare plans for alternate routes that will allow our Plantations to reach safely to the Gran Crevasse without interference from our enemies. And we must hurry, activity detected deep inside indicate that the Princess is on the move with her plans again. Squad 13 duty is to escort code 02 there for the final phase once this mentorship with Atlas squad is over. –

Every one of the Seven Sages agreed before Tarsier soon added: - If I may suggest something? Recently it has been reported that the children of squad 13 are feeling 'homesick'. –

Marmoset: - Homesick? Homesick for what? Milstinteinn should be comfy enough to be considered their 'home'. –

Tarsier: - I have the theory that they have this feeling because of the impressions they had over their visit to the city of Avalon. After all, most of their interactions with the local population there made them feel welcome after they had successfully defended the future city. –

Lemur: - So they're seeking that feeling of attention and gratitude again... just as we feared, such interactions are triggering personal necessities... -

Tarsier: - Don't rush to conclusions that fast, as a matter of fact, this could be used as an opportunity to make the squad more loyal to us by giving them what they want. –

Papa: - I'm listening... -

Meanwhile, at a battleground near the Cerasus...

White Glint: - Almost there! We just need to finish it!! –

Squad 13 was back on duty again, this time without the supervision of their mentors. Considering the events of their previous evaluation, Orion and Sally decided that a second exam was needed. They were considerate though and decided to let them face against a Moho class this time, making it a lot easier for the students. However, to make it challenging, he gave them a time limit to clear the mission and they were almost about to reach it...

Delphinium: - Alright, Strelizia, you know what to do! –

Strelizia: - Got it! Leave it to...! –

Argentea: - This time I will do it! –

She rushed towards the klaxosaur before anyone could protest and impaled her claws into the core, killing it successfully!

Orion: /TIME!! And you were lucky she took the initiative! Also, Argentea we appreciate improvisation once in a while but remember this sort of decisions can be hazardous!/

Zorome: - Relax! We have it all under control! –

Argentea: - Hngh! Zorome, pull the claw out before it...!! –

Too late, a highly pressured stream of blue fluids came out of the space around the core into Argentea, covering her entirely. Once it stopped, it was clear her pistil didn't like the experience...

Argentea: - Zorome, you idiot!! –

Delphinium: - Some things never change... -

Sometime later, back at the hangar of the Cerasus...

Both Miku and Zorome were at it with one of their usual arguments while everybody else simply looked while disembarking from their Franxx, at least until Nana soon called them out...

Nana: - Children! Please come down, I have some good news! –

Raven: - Huh, good news with APE? That's new... -

Everyone simply stared at him while Zero Two looked at him funny and soon giggled alongside Naomi. That was when Raven just realized what he did: - Did I just made an unintentional pun? –

Zero Two: - Yes... -

Hiro: - Ah, so that's how they work? –

Raven: - Goddammit, another thing I didn't want from my mentor... -

Everyone else simply chuckled as they soon formed up in front of Nana, Orion, and Sally.

Nana: - Alright, so we have 2 great news to share with you, I will let your mentor tell his part first. –

Orion: - Thanks Nana. Well kids, after analyzing your battle performance, me and Sally are glad to say that you're skilled enough to use these! –

He then pulled out a scroll of paper from his holo-watch and delivered it to Ichigo who unrolled it and started reading it...

Ichigo: - "The present document validates that the designated unit: Auxiliary squad 13, has completed its basic mentorship course with Atlas squad as the mentors after showing satisfactory performance and learning the values that are the basis of the doctrine behind the squads in the Special Mecha Corps. As such, they are granted the title of: LYNX. Signed, Captain Orion, mentor of the students; Captain Sally, 2nd mentor; Admiral Dassia, supervisor of the mentors; Dr. Werner Franxx."

The squad was beyond happy! They had been officially recognized as LYNXs from the SMC... if they were in the organization of course... but still, they had done it!

(Guntank! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!)

Raven: - WOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Yeah baby! Congratulations guys! You are officially considered elite pilots! –

Everyone cheered and high-fived each other but then Zero Two realized something bad: "Wait... does that mean that it is now over? And they will have to leave?"

Before she could voice her concern, Nana called everyone's attention again and continued: - Congratulations are in order as you have officially finished your mentorship with Atlas squad. And it appears Papa is satisfied with your improved performance thanks to them as he has also prepared a special event for you. Tomorrow, I need you all to wear your ceremonial uniforms for an award ceremony with the adults. –

Most of the tweens were surprised at the 2nd announcement with a few exceptions...

Raven: "Oh great, that means we will have to go inside that yellow horror..."

Naomi: "I don't know what to expect inside... after what Raven has told me of the harsh truth of our cities... I just really hope it isn't as bad as he pictured them..."

Zero Two: "Ugh, I hate that place... Avalon is certainly 100 times better..."

Zorome: - Hey, what exactly does that mean? We already got a recognition from our mentors that it makes medals look lame... -

Miku: - You idiot! Don't you understand? It means we will be going into the city! –

Everybody looked at him confused before he explained: - With our sensei, remember? When we... -

Raven: - Not Avalon dumbass... YOUR city here! –

Zorome was at first confused but once it was clear for him... he shouted LOUDLY in joy...

Zorome: - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! –

Miku: - Ow! My ears! –

Zero Two simply sighed as she turned to leave the place, trying to calm down after realizing that her brother Raven will leave soon. She was stopped by Nana however before she could make the first step.

Nana: - Zero Two, wait a moment. If you don't want to visit the city, then I can arrange you to undergo your tests. We cannot delay them any longer... -

Zero Two: "Great, just what I needed..." – I hate those... they make me feel lousy when finished and they're a waste of time. Besides I feel great right now. –

She then proceeded to leave as Nana sighed...

Nana: - And here I thought she would be more obedient considering she is more connected to everyone. –

Raven: "Now what has gotten into you Zero Two?" – I'll see if I can talk to her later... -

Nana: - Thank you Raven. Anyways, remember to wear your ceremonial uniform tomorrow and to meet up in the lobby early. Dismissed! –

Later, at the attic...

Raven: - Come on sis! Just tell me what's wrong! –

Zero Two: - Leave me alone! I'm not in the mood! –

Raven: - Is it because you're afraid of needles or something? Do they do something inappropriate to you while in the tests? Oh, dear God, don't tell me it is that... -

Zero Two felt grateful that Raven really did his best to reason and comfort her but sometimes it was a little bothersome...

Hiro: - Is it bad? Do I need to fight for her in this case? –

Well, at least there was a silver lining on this: seeing her darling doing his best to become protective of her was something that always made her heart skip. "Please, just recover all of your memories before we reach the Garden, Hiro..."

Naomi: - I think this clearly needs a feminine approach... something you both can't understand... -

Before the two boys could even ask, Naomi pushed them out of the room and closed the door, leaving only her and Zero Two. She then turned to face her and soon said: - Alright, this should give you enough comfort. –

Zero Two: - And what makes you think I will talk? –

Naomi: - Zero Two... I know from experience that there's something bothering you since we returned from the sortie... and trust me when I say that keeping it to yourself will only make your burden too heavy to carry and will make you break where you least expect it... so please, allow me to share it with you, just like Raven shares his with mine... -

Zero Two wanted to refuse, but her resolve to stay quiet was weak, as she had grown soft thanks to her interactions with everyone. She may still be able to keep her cold persona, but after a long time having the likes of Orion, Sally, Raven and Naomi interacting with her and the rest, this persona had melted enough to those she considered her closest friends. But she still had a little sense of doubt that she decided to use in the form of a token...

Zero Two: - Alright, I will tell you BUT in exchange of something important from you... -

Naomi: - Which is? –

Zero Two: - I want you to answer me sincerely first, do you still believe in APE? How much have you learned about them since you joined the SMC? –

Naomi soon realized what she meant: - You're asking me if I'm more loyal to my friends or to APE, right? –

Zero Two tensed a little: - Maybe, maybe not... -

Naomi: - They did something bad to you that is related to Hiro's condition and Raven's escape? –

Zero Two suddenly became very tense and Naomi noticed it: "It seems that my random guess hit the bullseye..." – You can relax... I won't look more into it if it makes you feel disgusted... and to be sincere, that was all I needed to come to my decision... -

Zero Two: - What decision? –

Naomi: - That APE can now go suck a **** -

Zero Two was dumbfounded at her statement, but that soon gave way to giggling before she started laughing...

Zero Two: - You have clearly embraced brother's spirit... I guess I am being a fool for not trusting you 2 again... -

Naomi: - I don't blame you... if what I asked is correct, the implications of what happened aren't good at all. –

Zero Two: - And you're right about that... so I guess it is time I tell you about it then... -

Naomi: - Wait, first let me tell mine first. It is fair that I trade to you one secret of mine for yours. –

Zero Two: - Sounds fair... what is this secret you have? No offense, but you don't strike me as... -

Naomi: - Zero Two, remember the tale about how Raven lost his mentor? –

Zero Two got confused: - I still do, it is something that allowed Raven to solve a conflict as a warning for everyone. And it is an event that is important for him... -

Naomi took a breath before saying: - Zero Two, he omitted some details about it because nobody in the squad is ready to hear one awful truth that could put them in danger. –

Zero Two: "An awful truth?" – What really happened there? Did Raven lie on some part of his tale? –

Naomi: - Yes and no. His tale is true in everything... but there was one important part that he hid for the safety of everyone... -

Zero Two: - And what exactly did he hid? –

Naomi: - Zero Two, the Alamo Incident was planned... APE WANTED to kill everyone there... -

(Le Gasp*)

Zero Two was now shellshocked! Sure, she never trusted APE considering her past, but she did believe that the organization was centered on protecting what was left of humanity, even if it wasn't even worth anything anymore. But this... this indicated that everything they were SUPPOSED to fight for was a lie... why would APE attempt to kill the diplomatic convoy from the SMC if they were also WITH humanity too?! Did that mean that Zorran's death and those on the convoy were for nothing!? Before she could even express her indignation, Naomi proceeded to explain to her, detail by detail, the TRUE story of the Alamo Incident...

Meanwhile, at the library...

As for the two partners of the girls, both went towards the library because their topic of concern was something that needed to be discreetly talked about...

Hiro: - What do you think it has gotten into her? –

Raven: - I don't know, but let's hope Naomi can find out... maybe she is right, and it is something between girls only. –

Hiro: - Well, I guess we will have to wait. Oh, and Raven, there's something important I want to talk to you... -

Raven: - Shoot... -

Hiro: - But I don't have a gun... -

Raven: - I already told it's just an... -

Hiro: - Kidding! –

He chuckled similarly to how Zero Two did and Raven soon said: - Well, well, well. Seems you're learning from her too... -

Hiro: - Which is why I appreciate her a lot and I want to protect her when we reach the Garden... -

Raven: - What do you mean? Did she do something she told you to keep quiet about? –

Hiro: - No... it has to do with my memories... I remember everything now Raven... -

Raven: - You do?! Congratulations man! It means you're now healed and... -

Hiro's somber look meant that it wasn't all good news...

Raven: - Oh... oh no, what happened there? –

Hiro: - Zero Two... she suffered a lot of things Raven... real BAD things, things that shouldn't happen to a kid! –

He said the last part angrily and Raven knew that whatever happened was a real deal: "And I thought only my temper was to be feared... but you know what they say: 'There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.'"

Raven: - I see... I won't ask you to tell me all of them, but I will ask you what exactly happened there? –

Hiro then told him everything he could recall about his adventure with her all those years prior and soon enough, Raven was also angry...

Raven: - No wonder they wiped your memories. Zero Two was the equivalent of a secret weapon those years ago and wanted everyone to not know of her existence... the assholes... -

Hiro: - And the problem now is that we are returning to the place where she suffered the most... Raven, what can I do? –

Raven: - The problem here is that while you're under APE's jurisdiction you won't be able to do much, Hiro. The moment they see signs of insubordination or rebellion is the moment you will be considered dead. And believe me, I KNOW they will. –

Hiro: - Now that worries me... how do you know? Do they really go that far? –

Raven: - Remember the tale about how I lost my mentor? –

Hiro: - Yes, why do you... wait... no, NO! –

Raven *angrily*: - We discovered later that APE had armed the diplomatic convoy they sent us with Magma bombs. They were planning to rig all their Plantations so they could take ours out in a chain reaction. They BELIEVED our diplomatic convoy was EVERYTHING that conformed the RF. They were WRONG and, in the end, they gained themselves an enemy worse than the klaxosaurs: US. –

Hiro was shocked... ever since regaining his memories, he started to doubt everything: his loyalty to APE, his knowledge about the enemy, and the reason to why they were fighting. After all, now that he could think with more clarity, he remembered back in the Garden that the many questions he did to the caretakers, they all seemed to always avoid giving him a direct answer. As a matter of fact, he had obtained more answers from Orion, Raven, and Sally than from APE in the brief time they had been with them. But now, to realize that they had tried to destroy their ally; to realize that the deaths caused were all planned...

Hiro: - HOW COULD THEY?! –

He then punched one of the walls so hard that it made some cracks appear... and also cracked some of his fingers...

Hiro: *Pained* - Ok, that was a bad idea! –

Raven: - Still, nice punch... - "Note to self, be careful when he gets angry..."

Hiro groaned as he nursed his injured hand and while he was at it, Raven noticed that a book had fallen from one of the shelves and went to pick it up. He soon read the title...

Raven: - "The Prince and the Beast". Weird, the classic one has the title the other way around... wait a second, I remember this one! –

Hiro: - You do? –

Raven: - Yeah, Zorran used to read me this story a lot back at the Federation! Is one of my favorites... -

He proceeded to read quickly through it but soon got confused...

Raven: - Huh? Where's the second part? –

Hiro: - Second part? –

Raven: - Have you read the book before? –

Hiro: - Yes, my memories tell me so... -

Raven: - Then you should know that after the princess leaves the prince after turning into a monster, a raven comes towards him and offers him a deal to rescue her. –

Hiro: - That's weird. The story ended right there... there was no 2nd part. –

Raven: - But how? Zorran told me it had 2 parts... -

Hiro: - Maybe he just found a different version? Anyways, thanks for finding this book, I was thinking of requesting it. –

Raven: - Right... it was Zero Two's book when you two tried to escape... as a matter of fact, how did it get here? I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the database... -

Hiro: - Beats me, but I needed it and got lucky. Also, Raven, I have an important question... -

Raven: - Which is? –

Hiro: - What will happen now? Now that we finished our mentorship... that means that you, Orion, Sally, and Naomi will leave... -

Raven was surprised at this statement: "Right, I forgot about that! Me and Naomi are with the SMC now and because of operation 'Cinder', that means we won't see them until after the siege at the Grand Crevasse!! Dammit! I'm not ready to say goodbye!"

Before he could say something about it though, they were interrupted as Haro came flying through one of the windows!

Haro: - Haro delivery! Haro delivery! Reunite at lobby for important message! Haro delivery! Haro delivery! –

It then flew through the doors as it kept repeating the message over and over while the two boys soon sighed and Raven said: - We will continue this later... but do not worry, even if we are soon to leave, let's continue living as we have been! Till the last moment. –

Hiro smiled and soon both boys went towards the lobby where they meet up with everyone else. Naomi and Zero Two were the last ones to arrive and both Hiro and Raven noticed that the latter was now in a better mood. Soon enough, Nana and Hachi alongside their mentors and the doctor arrived and all of them had a serious face on them...

Raven: "Oh no, it is that face Orion puts when something really goes bad..."

Ichigo: - Is there something wrong? –

Hachi: - We just received an important message from the Cosmos HQ; it also bears the "Priority 1" codename... -

Raven: "For real? 'Priority 1' in APE indicates something unexpected even for the Seven Sages."

Zero Two: "NOW I'm interested."

Ichigo: - What happened? –

Hachi: - The message states that a very dangerous rogue squadron known as the 'Disavowed' has been recently causing chaos and destruction in the Eastern sectors, killing the Parasites, and destroying as close as 15 Plantations as of right now... -

Everyone: "15!? That means they killed over 15 million people!!"

Raven: "So Kassandra has finally started her purge?"

Seeing their shock, it was clear to the adults that the Parasites understand what the situation implied...

Hachi: - A punitive force of veteran Parasites was sent to deal with the problem, but they failed and were destroyed alongside their Plantations. This means that the only ones capable of fighting them are the 9's, Atlas squad or our squad. But because we're needed back at the Garden, that means that we are unable of providing any assistance and the 9's require maintenance... -

Orion: - So that means that the 'Disavowed' will have free reign out there to do as they want. Papa's orders are to NOT engage with them unless it is absolutely necessary, meaning NO hunting them down children. –

Ichigo: - But that means many other Plantations will be in danger and without support! –

Orion: - Unfortunately that's how it is sometimes... those are your orders and ours... -

Ichigo: - What do you mean? –

Orion: - As you all know, your mentorship under us is over now that you have completed it and as such, that means that me, Sally, Raven, and Naomi will have to leave to return to the SMC territory. *Notices that everyone is surprised at this except for Hiro and Zero Two* However, because of recent events the doctor has requested we stick with you until you reach the Garden for your safety. –

Dr. Franxx: - There's also the fact that the SMC know a lot about the Disavowed... -

Now everyone was surprised at that statement and Orion quickly said: - Yeah, it's true that we had previously contacted the rogue pilots... but our relationship with them is neutral at best. We have a common enemy, and both our sides know that it is for the best to not resort to any infighting between us. Unfortunately, their pilots have a deep hate for APE and will not stop at anything to bring the Seven Sages into their knees. -

Zero Two, Raven, and Hiro: "At least that means we aren't the only ones with a grudge..."

Zorome: - But why?! Why would they go against Papa?! He is protecting what is left of humanity! –

Zero Two, Raven, Hiro, Naomi, Orion, and Sally: "My ass..."

Orion: - We don't know, every human being out of APE's influence is unique in many ways Zorome. They have their reasons and sometimes you won't understand them unless you experience what they experienced. –

Everyone reflected about this piece of wisdom for a little before Hachi said: - Anyways, this situation about the Disavowed will be addressed properly after your visit to the city. For now, enjoy some rest and prepare your uniforms for the big day tomorrow. Dismissed! –

As the children left, doctor Franxx went towards Orion and said: - Do you know something about our new threat that you didn't want to share with the children? –

Orion: - Only that their actual leader, Kassandra Augusta, was once one of the best ACE operatives of the SMC. However, she retired after an operation gone wrong and decided to continue fighting on her own terms with a different suit... she formed the 'Disavowed' and basically, they're just pilots that find the SMC ways a little too 'pacifist'. And that's all I can say for now... -

Dr. Franxx: - So you are partly responsible for him then... -

Orion: - Whom? I don't what you're talking about... -

Dr. Franxx: - Once upon a time, a man alongside a unique... suit appeared near Plantation 13 long before the actual one even existed. Doesn't that ring a bell? –

Orion: - Ok, usually I have an answer for every indirect you throw but this time I swear I know nothing of what you're saying... -

Doctor Franxx looked at him for a few moments before sighing and soon saying: - You're right, weird, usually my hunches don't fail me... -

He soon left while thinking to himself: "It seems that the consequences of what I did are now catching up to me... hmph, seems that in the end, Citrine was right... I was used as a pet all because my will to fight on died the same day Karina died... and I thought his would so too. But now here he is... continuing his goal while I'm here continuing that of others and never one of mine... *realization sets in* except one... I'll allow my girl to have his darling... to make peace once and for all..."

The next morning...

The children were ready for their ceremony at the city, and Zorome was beyond excited to go down there as he adjusted his uniform continuously...

Raven: - Relax man, you just need to take it easy. Is just going down there to get a medal and that's it. –

Zorome: - Raven, I know that you have lived more events any of us here but please shut up, you don't know what we're about to go into! –

Raven: - Trust me, I know. Zorran had lots of commendations back in the day... -

Zorome: - Oh, come on! Just how much did your mentor did?! –

Raven: *Whistles* - You have no idea... -

Zorome grumbled while everybody else simply chuckled at his bruised ego. That was when Nana and Hachi arrived and soon ordered them to follow...

Orion: - Stay in line and enjoy the visit kids! –

Sally: - We will wait for you here! –

Haro: - Haro! Bye bye! –

The mentors and Haro unfortunately weren't amongst the invited, so they had to stay behind. Soon enough, the two adults crossed one of the ID barriers while the Parasites were a little hesitant...

Nana: - Come on. –

Zorome was the first one to do so by leaping through the barrier... and falling face first into the ground...

Raven: - *Demoman laugh.mp3* -

Zorome: - As if you could do it better! –

Raven: - Challenge accepted boy... -

He then pulled out aviator glasses alongside air pods and his holo-watch and soon started walking as everyone could hear a tone coming from his ears...

He then walked through the gate with such a level of confidence and security that even the caretakers were surprised to see... and he didn't even stop there! He continued walking like he knew the place! Eventually, Naomi went through the barrier and hurried after him...

Naomi: - Raven! You're spacing out with your memes again! –

Everyone else simply stared confused before they continued towards the elevator, where they saw Naomi reprimanding Raven, the latter seemingly proud of it. The caretakers just sighed before allowing everyone access to the elevator before going down. Soon enough, everyone got a view of the golden city and were awed by it... however, deep inside their subconscious, they felt a sense of... dissatisfaction for some reason. They brushed it away however as soon as they arrived at the city hall for the ceremony.

Plantation leader: - You are the first children to ever be welcomed into the city, it is truly a great honor. –

Raven: "Probably because you weren't expecting us to survive this far..."

Plantation Leader: - I hope you look upon this day as a source of pride, live up to this honor, and make even further contributions to the plantation. –

Raven: "Aka, please work hard so we work less... seriously, once you heard senator Armstrong's speeches, the rest are very lame..."

The leader walked up towards Ichigo with the first medal and soon asked her: - You are the squadron leader? –

Ichigo, with professionalism soon said: - Yes sir! – "Much better than last time at the Ark... thanks sensei."

Plantation leader: - Your successes speak directly to your ability as a leader. –

Ichigo: - Thank you sir, but those accomplishments are not mine alone, everyone in my squad contributed to them and our mentors that... -

To her surprise, the leader presented her medal to her and moved on to the rest without letting her finish...

Ichigo: "Hey! Senator Armstrong showed more respect than this!"

Raven: "Wow, rude. And everyone wants to be like them?"

The leader continued presenting the medals to each one of the Parasites until reaching Raven and Naomi...

Leader: - Ah, the special pilots that came from the faction in the shadows, the SMC. Tales of your exploits aboard your Franxx are heard all around the Plantations. We are honored to have you here... -

While Raven simply nodded professionally, deep inside him there was a raging turmoil: "A Franxx!? A FRANXX!? WHITE GLINT IS A NEXT ASSHOLE!! THE NEXT THAT BELONGED TO MY MENTOR, RESPECT MY RIDE!!"

He was barely holding his ire in as the leader went to Naomi: - It is glad to see that one of our people is the Pistil partner of the famous 'Lost Raven'. Thanks to you, he has found his way into our place where his wildness and reckless freedom can be controlled. –

Naomi was now in the same predicament as Raven: "Excuse me?! Him... CONTROLLED?! HE IS GREAT AS HE IS RIGHT NOW! THAT DOES IT, APE IS DEAD TO ME NOW!!"

Both showed great self-control as they accepted the medals. However as soon as the leader turned away from them, they both showed the middle finger to him fast enough that their friends saw it, but the adults didn't, with exception of Nana and Hachi, the former getting pale while the latter glared at the two for their insubordination. The rest of their friends were confused however because they didn't know what it meant.

Soon enough, the leader went to team Strelizia: - It is also a great honor to host a former Nine... -

Zero Two simply 'tch-d' and accepted the medal with a poker face. The leader then moved on to Hiro: - And you have done well to live up to all the expectations placed upon you. –

Hiro: - Thank you. – "Yet, I'm disappointed with mine placed upon you. The few adults we met at Avalon were livelier than this."

The leader continued towards the rest of the Parasites and soon reached Argentea's team at last...

Leader: - Your efforts have been splendid, keep it up in the battles to come. –

Zorome: - T-thank you sir! –

He extended his hand to shake the leader, but he simply stared confused before looking away and leaving.

Raven: - ¡Vaya! ¡Qué descortés de su parte, el cabrón! –

Everyone looked at him confused at what he said before he replied: - Will tell you later back at the board house. –

That came sooner than expected as the ceremony ended right there, and the adults left...

Hachi: - I have to go to R&H for something, I leave them up to you. –

Nana nodded as he left while the rest of the children were confused...

Zorome: - Wait, you mean that's it? –

Goro: - It was over so quickly... -

Titus: - This is disappointing. I still remember the celebrations done back at Avalon, they took 2 days to prepare and lasted all night... -

Futoshi: - And there was lots of food too! I thought they would give us a feast... -

Pari: - There, there Futoshi... how about we make some food together when we return to make up for it? –

Futoshi: - Sounds great! –

Ikuno: - I think he can do without a feast for once. –

Miku: - Hey, why don't we walk back? We will be able to see more of the city this way! –

Ichigo: - Good idea! Can we please do it Nana? It wasn't that far, we can go back safely with Raven and Zero Two here! –

Nana sighed: - Alright children, just stay close and don't wander off... -

She soon left and that was when Raven soon realized something...

Raven: "No adults to supervise us and no cameras nor mics. Perfect time to speak some nuggets of truth..."

Soon enough, Zorome said: - What do you think it will be like when we get to live here as adults? –

Ichigo: - I don't know, for some reason I can't really see us becoming adults... -

Raven: - At least not the ones in here... I would rather be buried, eaten, or crushed by a klaxosaur rather than become an APE adult. –

Everyone was shocked with his statement that Zorome soon shouted: - How dare you even say that! What gives you even the right to do so!? –

Raven: - Parasites aren't the only thing the SMC rescues Zorome... -

It took the group a little moment to comprehend what that implied until Ikuno got it: - Wait, you also rescue adults? –

Raven: - USED to rescue adults... during the first years of the Federation, the SMC tried as best as they could to bolster the numbers on their population and for that they used to rescue Plantations too. However, rescuing the adults inside of the Plantations was very unsuccessful... -

Ikuno: - How? If you can rescue the children successfully, how is it that you couldn't do the same for the adults? –

Raven: - Consider that I'm simply quoting from the retired adult pilots that were there on those operations. This was WAY before even one of us existed. Basically, the part of rescuing the Plantation from the klaxosaurs was the easy part. The HARD part was keeping the adults alive. You see, your adults are very, VERY sick. Like, seriously, just one simple flu is enough to KILL them! That basically meant that any minimal exposure from the outside world to the adults meant certain DEATH for them. And to make matters worse, most of them didn't even present any reaction when ill, something VERY important when trying to cure them. This basically meant that every rescue ended up with failure, only a few of the adults surviving the process. –

Everyone took this information a little hard, specifically the loyal Zorome.

Mitsuru: - But then how is it that they are still alive in here? –

Raven: - Simple, the whole city is literally sterile to the smallest detail. Interaction to the outside world is prohibited, and they spent most of the time inside capsules that literally give them emotions because they lost them long ago, making them more akin to robots than humans... -

Everyone was confused and surprised to the amount of information Raven had about the adults and the city...

Ichigo: - How is it that you know that much, Raven? –

Raven: - If there was a silver lining about those rescue operations, it was that it gave the SMC a lot of data and schematics about the general structure and functioning of the Plantations. They teach us all of that in the academy. Still the point here is, I would rather live a risky but free life on the Federation rather than being in a safe but lifeless cage in here. Also, have you forgotten what Ying told you the first day you met her? –

Ying: - Being an adult is an experience that can't be answered, it has to be learned kid... -

Raven: - I'll simply say that we must focus first on surviving and living our days as the children they believe we are. Trust me, that way you will end up becoming an adult faster than you believe it will take. –

Even if there was wisdom behind his words, not everyone was eager to hear it this time...

Zorome: - Shut up! What do you even know about being an adult?! –

Raven seemed to simply glare at him as he answered: - Does the loss of my mentor give a hint to you? It was the day I had to become an adult, and I didn't like it as I still wanted more time being a child. –

He then went ahead leaving everyone behind, reflecting on what he meant with that...

Naomi: - Sorry if that brought the mood down... but let's be honest, our city here isn't what we expected and, sincerely, I prefer seeing green, blue, and white than yellow, orange, and black... Avalon is livelier than here... and I think I know why Raven would give his life for that city and not this one. –

Hiro and Zero Two: "In that, he is right... Raven/brother has a genuine home to return... while we're stuck here defending a glorified cage."

Zorome: - Geez, I think he is making it a big deal out of it... -

Hiro: - He is right though; do you really want to become such a fragile adult Zorome? I will rather stay as a child if that means I get to live healthy and free with my friends around me... -

Titus: - I'm with him... part of my hobby is to go my workshop outside to manufacture my prototypes... -

Everyone: - You have a workshop? –

Titus: - Oh... right... it was supposed to remain a secret... sensei and doctor Franxx allowed me to have one to test my prototype modules. –

Ikuno: - Really? You wouldn't mind if we could visit it? –

Titus: - Only under surveillance, some of the tools are sensitive. –

Ikuno: - Sounds fair. –

Zorome: - Hey, we are talking about becoming adults here! Come on, can someone please back me up? –

He then turned to Zero Two: - Zero Two, you're the most experienced Parasite out of all of us! You must have seen the cities up close and interacted with the adults too! Please tell us how it is! –

Zero Two sighed before she answered: - Sorry Zorome, but you won't be getting any help from me. I also support big bro's judgement. I have seen more cities than him and I agree that they're all lifeless that I have given up on caring for them. But when we visited Avalon... those feelings I had given up came back with to me and I was happy for once... -

She smiled at the memory of the city, full of green, full of blue and full of white, the colors of life...

Zorome then simply grumbled in frustration: - Fine! I just need to find proof that our city can be as lively as Avalon! Then I can prove to you that Raven's wrong! –

He then wandered away before anyone stopped him...

Miku: - Zorome! You knucklehead, come back here! Grrrr... even after the issue with Jormungandr, he still acts impulsive! –

Zero Two: - Then you should go with him... -

Miku: - Why? I will not get dragged into trouble because of him! –

Miku: - Yes boss... -

She soon left sprinting towards Zorome.

Ichigo: - Our squadron sure is changing a lot... sometimes it is scary to think about it. –

Kokoro: - But it also shows how far we have gone, doesn't it? –

Everyone thought on her words, and concluded that Raven was right in something as they all walked back towards the board house: "Wish we could still be children for a little more..."

Meanwhile...

Zorome was grumbling as he continued exploring the zone attempting to find an adult to prove Raven wrong...

Zorome: "I'll show him! I'll give him evidence that being an adult in APE isn't that bad. Then I'll tell him my plan to do as an adult based on what ours do! But first I need to find one..."

He then saw a platform that looked like an elevator and soon thought: "If there's something I learned from sensei is that the high ground gives a scouting advantage..."

He was about to step up when he suddenly heard: - Zorome! Zorome!! –

He turned around and was surprised to see Miku running towards him. She soon reached him and breathed heavily as Zorome asked: - Miku, what are you doing here?! –

Miku: - Making sure... *breathes* that you don't get into trouble for whatever nonsense you're about to do... -

Zorome: - This is no nonsense! I will prove Raven that being an adult here is something that is worth for! A reason to let us become one! –

Miku: - But Zorome! Why would you even want to become one? You don't like being a child or something? –

Zorome: - Of course I do! I just want to know how it is being an adult! I just want to witness an example! –

He then sighed and said: - I just simply want to know what sort of life they have that they need us to protect... I want to know and see if Raven is simply lying... or saying the truth... -

Miku had never seen her partner be this serious before whenever he talked about being an adult and it showed a rare side of him to her, his vulnerable side.

Naomi: - You care enough for him... don't you? –

So she decided to ignore all reason and caution and soon said: - Fine, I'll help you find one, but only this time and ONLY one adult! Got it? –

Zorome: - For real?! –

As Miku nodded, Zorome actually hugged her!

Zorome: - Thanks Miku! I knew I could count on you always! –

Miku blushed as she felt a warmth in her chest: - J-just put me down, idiot! –

He soon did so and grabbed her hand as he led her towards the platform: - But for this we're going to need higher ground. –

Soon enough, the elevator took them up towards a platform that allowed them a big view of the city. Both were marveled by it that it distracted them from noticing the elevator going down. They observed for a few minutes before Miku soon said: - Nothing, no one is out there... -

Zorome: - Weird, could it be they have a curfew like us? *Sighs* Maybe in another platform... -

He then went towards the elevator only to realize it wasn't there...

Zorome: - What? –

He soon rushed towards the edge only to see the elevator at the bottom and no button or switch to call it back up...

Zorome: - Ummm... Miku? –

Miku: - Yes? –

Zorome: - We have a problem... -

Miku: - What did you do now? –

Once she looked at the situation, she soon said: - Alright, it's no big deal. All we need is to contact our friends. –

She pulled out her communicator only to dreadfully realize that it had low battery.

Miku: "Crap, I forgot to charge it!" – Dammit, my communicator is dead. –

Zorome pulled out his only to come up with the same result: - Mine too... -

Miku and Zorome: "We're both stuck here..."

They stayed there for a few minutes before Zorome spotted what he had been looking for: - Look! There's an adult over there! Hey! Heeeey! –

His effort was in vain as the adult left without noticing them...

Zorome: - Rats... -

Miku: - How about instead of trying to get their attention, we better get an idea to get down from here? –

Zorome grumbled but soon noticed that one of the sides of the platform was a steep incline with some tubes that could be used as stepstones...

Zorome: - I think I found one... -

Miku looked and soon said: - Surely there must be a safer way than this one? –

Zorome: - Hey, I'm open if you have one... -

Knowing there wasn't any other option, she soon sighed and nodded.

Zorome: - To show you that I'm not doing this without care, I will go first and help you go down safely. Trust me, alright? –

He soon stepped over the fence and slowly slid down into the first pipe. Once he had a safe hold, he soon said: - Alright, you can slide now! I gotcha! –

Miku trembled a little and soon followed him, letting out an 'Eeep!' as she slid down and Zorome caught her...

Zorome: - See? We're doing good! –

Miku: - Let's just get to the ground safely... -

Zorome and Miku soon repeated the process a few times and soon saw they were close to the ground level...

Zorome: - Okey, just 2 more times and we're safe. –

Miku: - Careful... -

Zorome was about to slide down when both suddenly heard a gasp coming from the ground and both turned to see an adult watching them!

Zorome: - Oh! Hi! Umm... this isn't what it... -

Unfortunately, his distraction made him lose his balance and soon plummeted towards the ground...

Miku: - ZOROME!!! –

Before he blacked out, the Stamen saw his partner and the adult rushing towards him before darkness consumed him...

Meanwhile, back at the board house...

Ichigo: - Both are late... what could be taking them so long? –

Raven: - I'm trying to contact them, but their communicators are offline... they probably forgot to recharge them before going out. –

Ichigo: - Dammit, at this rate we may need to tell Nana about it even if it lands us in trouble. –

Raven: - The integrity of our friends is more important than us suffering the consequences. Isn't that what you basically did when you rescued Goro? –

Ichigo smiled at the memory: - Yeah, I guess so... *sighs* guess it is better to tell her now rather than later... -

She then went towards another room as she dialed Nana on her communicator while Raven stood at the lobby, for once without an idea of what to do...

Raven: "Let's see, Titus is with Ikuno at his workshop: Futoshi and Pari are cooking at the kitchen; Goro is at the library and will probably get dragged by Ichigo soon; Mitsuru, Naomi and Kokoro are checking the greenhouse; as for Hiro and Zero Two, who knows but I bet they're doing something together. What can I do now?"

He was in his thoughts when Haro soon flew towards him saying: - Haro bored! Haro bored! –

He then landed on Raven's head as he then said: - Raven entertainment! Entertainment! –

Raven: - That's going to be complicated buddy. We can't use our usual channels here, so we have limited options... -

Haro: - Haro wants music! Music! –

Raven: - Music uh? I guess that falls in the grey areas... alright, just get me my guitar and I will start... -

Haro soon flew away as Raven went towards the attic and set up a little speaker and a tripod. Soon enough, Haro returned with an electric guitar and some cables too...

Raven: - Thanks Haro... now, what song should I play? –

Haro then activated a holographic screen using its eyes and showed an option to Raven who smirked...

Raven: - That one will do nicely... -

Meanwhile, at the same time, at the workshop...

Titus: - And this one is the 3D printer, where my prototypes are materialized. –

Ikuno: - Interesting... it's from the SMC, right? –

Titus: - Yep, Orion managed to get one of their best so that I could use it. And man, this thing has been a breeze to use! It can literally use any materials I have at hand and transform it into the molecular level! I can literally use trash as a prime material! –

Ikuno looked warmly at him as he explained with joy the many benefits of the printer. Usually, she wouldn't give that much attention to men, her mind and likes usually into people of her same gender... but Titus for some reason was the exception. In comparison to her partner Mitsuru and the rest of the boys, Titus was proud of having such a brilliant mind ever since Raven encouraged him. Most of his time he was writing notes on his holo-pad, discussing his ideas with her, Raven and their mentor, materializing them in his workshop or sometimes just chillin' with everybody else as his minds reloads. Ikuno had noticed that recently his physical form had been more robust and flexible thanks to the training received...

Ikuno: "I wonder how he looks now with his stamen suit hugging his muscles... wait, what am I thinking!? I like girls! I like girls, not boys! Although with him... NO!! Bad Ikuno! Bad!"

Titus: - Are you alright? You're turning red. –

Ikuno managed to keep her composure as she answered: - I'm good, just something I suddenly thought about... -

Titus: - Does it have to do with one of the other girls? –

Ikuno now did get nervous as she soon said: - W-what are you talking about? Me? A girl thinking about girls? No, not happening! I absolutely did not... -

Titus: - Chill, chill. I understand... I really do. It takes one to know one... -

Ikuno was now surprised at this statement. Did that mean...?

Ikuno: - You... you also have the same 'attraction'? –

Titus: - Kind of... I still like women, trust me, our vacation at the beach made sure of that... but I also seem to feel attracted to men too. And I don't know why... -

Ikuno smiled now knowing there was really one in the squadron she could completely trust now: - Guess us freaks have to stick together then, huh? –

Titus smiled as he answered: - I wouldn't call us freaks though. Raven has told me that people with our 'tastes' exist in the Federation and are treated well there. –

Ikuno: - Wait... you mean Raven knows about you? How? –

Titus blushed as he then said: - I may have stared at him for far too long in the showers and he wildly guessed it as a joke. He then realized I wasn't and still treated me like he always does. He knows something like this is sensible for people like us. –

Ikuno was now secretly in joy... not only did she found a kindred soul about it, but she also had an ally she knew she could trust too: - Raven, it seems he never stops surprising us. How can someone like him become that great in the few years he was away? –

Titus: - Beats me, I'm a genius and I still find it a mystery. It just shows that sometimes we can't be the best at everything, right? –

Ikuno: - At least you're the mechanical genius, I'm still struggling finding my own hobby. –

Titus: - I have seen the way you ogle the girls... maybe you should do something related to that? I think Raven called the subject as biology or something... -

Ikuno seemed to think about it, but her thoughts were interrupted as a melody started to sound from the board house...

Titus: - I still haven't made the speakers yet... who has one? –

They both left the workshop, lured by the melody...

At the kitchen...

Pari: - Just a little more... and there we go! –

Futoshi: - Ooof! Another successful batch! –

The two wannabe cooks of the squad were making donuts. Just right now they had finished frying them so now it was time for the final step of glazing them with whatever condiment they liked. Pari had quite the good time with Futoshi this time! And she was also looking forward to feeding Futoshi a special batch she was planning to do for him...

Pari: "I really hope this will give me an advantage over Kokoro."

Futoshi: - Alright! Let's see what we got for condiments today! –

He opened one of the drawers and realized something bad: - Oh man, we ran out of them! There's only enough to make glazed, vanilla and chocolate donuts! –

Pari: "Dammit! I wanted to do that special recipe I got from Sally!" - *Sighs* I guess we will have to do the best of what we have... -

Futoshi: - Are you alright Pari? You seemed down for a reason... -

Pari: "Guess I will have to try a direct approach but I'm not in the mood right now..." – No, recently I have been frustrated because... -

Clang! The sound of some utensils falling from the drawer interrupted her as Futoshi sweated a little: - Sorry, my bad, you were saying? –

Pari sighed before she decided to switch the question: - Futoshi, what do you see exactly on Kokoro? –

Futoshi blushed instantly: - Eh? What is with that question? –

Pari: - It is very obvious to everyone that you're interested in her more than with the rest of the girls. Everyone knows that you have a "crush" on her but don't know why... -

If you really care for her, have you tried at least connecting with her like Naomi or Raven do?! Do you even know what flowers she likes, what her personal objectives are or at least how she feels around you?! Do you have any idea of what her flaws are and how to act around them?! Do you actually LIKE her as a person or are you just simply IDOLIZING her without seeing her how she actually is?! –

On the last part she slammed down on the table which cause one of the trays holding the donuts... her tray to be exact to fall into the floor, making a greasy mess as the donuts got dispersed and contaminated. Once she realized what happened, Pari couldn't contain her feelings anymore and with tears in her eyes, she left the kitchen running and crying, leaving Futoshi confused and scared...

Futoshi: "What happened to her? We were doing so good, and she was very happy when cooking with me! Why did she suddenly explode like that?"

That was when he noticed she had left her recipe book in the shelf and there was a bookmark in one of the pages...

Futoshi: "Did she got frustrated because she wanted to try a special recipe and couldn't without the ingredients? Let's take a look..."

After opening it, he soon saw that it was the recipe that Sally had recommended to Pari and it was...

Futoshi: "Special Chocolate cover raspberry filled donut. Man, that sounds delicious! My favorite treat alongside... Pari's... wait..."

He kept on reading and saw that the recipe had personal notes from her...

Futoshi: "This will for sure bring his attention towards me. I have been practicing the speech to let my feelings for him to be known in the best way possible for him to understand. As Sally says: 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.' I just really wish that he would stop fantasizing about Kokoro. I don't understand how he can be so blind. Sure, Kokoro is a great friend and there's no way I would also let something bad happen to her neither... but she is too soft. Whenever a solid decision or opinion is required, she hides nervously because she lacks the courage to express her opinions and emotions. That doesn't synergize with Futoshi. He is the definition of a caring big man, he is a little dofus, gluttonous, 'bigboned' as he insists, empathetic, optimistic, kind, respectful but most importantly, decisive. He thinks his personality complements his bond with Kokoro... but it actually clashes with hers. I have seen alongside Raven and sensei that she could get alongside better with Mitsuru...' WHAT?! WHY?! *Calms down before he continues* 'Kokoro has expressed concerns about how Mitsuru's status could deteriorate if he doesn't talk about his grudge against Hiro with someone soon. He may look cold and isolated, but Raven says that's his form of defending himself from being hurt emotionally after an incident he had with Hiro in the Garden. However, he is considering opening himself to a select few, specifically Kokoro and Raven. And at a good time, his performance is diminishing because of his condition, and I know that Kokoro's kindness and patience will be perfect for him. The problem is that Futoshi is her assigned partner, and she doesn't have the strength to break his heart. And I don't blame her... I will rather have my heart broken if it means he can be happy. Why does love have to be this confusing!? Ever since we first met in the Garden, I had loved him for who he is... and for saving me that day from myself... I almost regretted never telling him all of this on that day we went against Wolfblade... and I won't make the same mistake again."

Futoshi then suddenly started to sweat all over his body, he started hyperventilating, and everything started to look blurry to him, he had to sit down to avoid falling as a hell storm of emotions went through his mind, soul, and heart...

Futoshi: "Pari... Pari... Pari... l-likes me? Wait... but my feelings for Kokoro are true!! I can't... simply... UGH!!!"

He brought his hands towards his face as he was in total confusion, trying to calm down. He then moved his hand and felt one of the fallen donuts. He looked at it and after staring it for a little while, that was when it clicked for him...

Futoshi: "So no wonder she was really happy when I agreed to join her in the kitchen... she knew it was her chance to make up for the years lost... to know me again..."

Memories of their interactions went through him, as he recalled how she was back at the Garden and compared it to how she was now. He also thought about all the new information on Kokoro. He could recall her being happy with him, but it seemed her smiles grew more warmly when she was with Mitsuru, and she did the same smile when she saw him and Pari interacting with each other. Does that mean she was aware of Pari's feelings too? Did that meant she also supported her with him? Whenever he thought about Kokoro, a tightening in his chest would always happen and put him euphoric... but now that same tightness seemed to be split as it now happened whenever he thought of Pari... but it felt warmer, and happier for some reason...

Futoshi: "This is all so confusing... *Breathes deeply* I need time to process this..."

He was feeling angry at Mitsuru for stealing Kokoro, but also to himself for ignoring Pari. Sad at Kokoro and Raven for such a betrayal to his feelings but also sad for hurting Pari's. Confused because of the recent discovery he made and ashamed for not noticing them quicker. What could he do? He was having quite the mental mess...

Futoshi: "I really need to calm down... what would Raven or Ichigo tell me to do in this case?"

As he stood up, he looked at his tray of donuts, still waiting for a glazing, and soon got an idea as he smiled...

Futoshi: "It is a start at least... I know what will calm her down..."

A few minutes later...

Pari was sitting below one of the trees on the entrance, silently contemplating her regrets as the tears had ceased...

Pari: "Why? Why?! Why did I had to break now!? I could have finally won his affection with this session!! Now I have blew it forever! He must hate me now for saying those things! Why... WHY?!"

Tears threatened to escape from her eyes again as she buried her face and sniffled heartbroken as she sensed her efforts and time invested into her crush were all in vain and she would only go as far as a friend... that is, until a delicious smell reached her nose...

Pari: "W-what? *Sniffs* That is... chocolate? –

She slowly looked towards her left and saw a plate filled with a dozen of chocolate donuts that looked filled with something. There was a note alongside it and she soon read it...

Pari: "Pari, I don't know what exactly happened back there, but it seemed that this experience made you reach a limit... and also made me open my eyes and mind to many things I haven't realized before. However, it also brought confusion and frustration to me as now that I see what was unnoticed, I'm now in such a mental mess that I need some time to calm myself and organize my thoughts... but I promise you that whatever happens after today, I will still lookout for you with the same dedication I do it for Kokoro... maybe even more. But for now, enjoy these donuts, you need them more than me. – Futoshi."

Tears came into her eyes but this time with bittersweet joy as she soon took one of them and ate it, blissfully enjoying its taste...

Pari: "I can't believe it! Chocolate cover with raspberry fill! How did he do it?!"

She then continued eating them as the donuts drowned her sorrows and remorse and replaced them with the feeling of satisfaction as she finally achieved a victory in her quest for love, not knowing that her interest was watching her hidden behind another tree, glad to see her happy again... and that was when both heard a musical tone coming from the upper floor...

At the greenhouse...

Naomi: - Wow, you sure know how to take care of plants... -

She wasn't kidding, she still remembered when the greenhouse was anything but green, but now it wore that title with pride...

Kokoro: - Turns out gardening isn't that hard once you get the hang of it, and it is very rewarding. –

Naomi: - Indeed, it looks just as flowery as that of the Senator's Garden... -

Kokoro: - Funny thing is, I asked sensei for the layout of the same garden, and I simply planted the plants on the correct spots. –

Naomi: - Really? Then you're really an amazing gardener! Even the details on the flowers look the same! –

Naomi: - Well, I had help from Mitsuru to make this possible so... -

Mitsuru: - Ow! –

They both looked at him as he was in a rose bush trimming the thorns and seemed that he pricked himself...

Kokoro: - Are you alright? –

Mitsuru: - Just a scratch... damn thorns. –

Naomi: - Karma I would say, why aren't you using the gloves Kokoro gave you? –

Mitsuru simply 'tsked' as Kokoro tried to clean his cut with a napkin while Naomi looked outside and soon realized why Mitsuru got distracted: Hiro and Zero Two were both outside having a stroll and were smiling to each other. Naomi sighed as she soon got an idea of how Mitsuru got himself pricked...

Naomi: - Mitsuru, this is becoming unhealthy of you. You have seen Raven set an example letting go of his guilt for what happened to Zorran, why can't you do the same with Hiro? –

Mitsuru seemed to tense a little before regaining his composure and saying: - I don't understand what you mean... -

Naomi: - Cut the crap Mitsuru, it doesn't take a genius to know you have some sort of grudge against Hiro. You may act like Zero Two, but you don't have the same level as her... –

Mitsuru: - Don't compare me to that monster... -

Naomi: - And don't you dare call her a monster!! She is Raven's little sister, and he would be mad at you for calling her like that! –

Mitsuru: - I don't get what everyone sees in her! She's just going to disappoint us once she betrays us! –

Naomi: - You're just saying that because you still have that stupid grudge against her for giving your ego a lesson when you tried to pilot with her! You are clearly the disappointment here! You don't know to let go of your grudges! –

Kokoro: *Softly* - Stop... -

Mitsuru: - You don't know anything about it! You think that's is something easy?! –

Naomi: - I know it isn't, but Raven has set an example for everyone back then, remember?! And I don't see you trying!! –

The argument was getting heated...

Kokoro: - Please, stop... -

Mitsuru: - Why should I?! I don't see the point doing so! I'm already fine! –

Naomi: - You clearly aren't!! The sensei's have seen that your performance is lacking compared to everybody else! There's something wrong with you and if it isn't resolved, you will be PRUNED! –

Mitsuru: - Shut up! –

Kokoro: - Stop! –

Naomi: - Do you at least understand that you will hurt everyone once you're gone!? Do you at least care for Kokoro's feelings or are you just that hypocrite!? –

Mitsuru: - I SAID SHUT UP!! –

He then lunged at her trying to slap her but to his surprise, Naomi easily countered him as she grabbed his arm and then threw him over her shoulder into one of the bushes. Fortunately for Mitsuru, the bushes didn't have thorns but unfortunately for both, they were Kokoro's favorites.

Kokoro had thought of first running away and cry for help as fear took hold of her as she clearly didn't know what to do here. But after seeing her flowers being flattened, something deep inside her snapped and for the first time, the normally calm and kind girl felt fury through her veins...

Kokoro: - I SAID STOP!! EITHER YOU TWO STOP RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW OR I WILL MAKE SURE YOU TWO PULL WEEDS FROM MY GARDEN EVERYDAY THAT YOUR HANDS WILL NEED AMPUTATION TO STOP THE PAIN!! –

Both brawlers were genuinely surprised at her outburst that they froze on the spot which was a little suggestive. Even so, that didn't calm down her ire...

Kokoro: - I can't believe you two! Naomi, I thought you were the most mature of everyone here because of your relationship with Raven! He showed you and taught you so many things and trying to being patient wasn't one of them?! Even if Mitsuru is in the wrong, that doesn't mean you should also act wrong to him!! And you!! Mitsuru, how can you NOT take this seriously!? Have you forgotten how sad it was for everyone when we thought that both Hiro and Naomi were leaving after failing?! I don't care you have a grudge to him after he hurt you breaking his promise, everybody has emotions to respect! You yourself promised me that you would seek Raven to help you get over it, but it is clear you haven't learned anything!! Are you simply toying with me by making false promises?! –

Both culprits were feeling ashamed now although Naomi had another thought: "Wow, it seems she is finally growing a spine..."

Mitsuru's reaction was different though: "Dammit... I never expected her to look so... different when angry... why is my heart beating this fast? Wait, what am I thinking!?"

That was when Kokoro started pushing them out: - Now, I want you both to stay silence OUTSIDE while I fix your mess and I swear that if I hear you fighting, I will bring the garden scissors this time! –

Soon enough, both culprits were in another room as Kokoro returned to the greenhouse...

Naomi: - Woah... -

Mitsuru: - Yeah... -

Naomi: - You know, I'm glad she is finally growing a spine for once... she is always the kind girl the pleases everyone even if it becomes a nuisance to her. I mean, have you seen how she acts around Futoshi? He doesn't seem to stop idolizing her and her habit for not stopping him really wears her down... at least I'm glad we discovered she does have a limit now... -

Mitsuru: - And what makes you think that she will do it again? You said it yourself; she is way too kind... -

Naomi: - Mitsuru... if there's something you need to learn about us girls... is that once we cross a line, we carry the experience learnt for a lifetime... Pari did it after being rescued... Zero Two is did it after the Ark... and I did it after reuniting with Raven. And I'm very damn sure that if Kokoro did it today, then she will grow to do it from this point on in the correct moments... -

Mitsuru reflected on what she said and soon realized that Naomi was right. He had seen her, Zero Two, Ichigo, Pari and the rest of his group to change after some events. Naomi changed a lot ever since the battle against the Reaper in the kissing operation, Zero Two became softer with the squad ever since their visit to the Avalon, Goro and Ichigo seemed to be closer to each other after their fight against Wolfblade, even Zorome and Miku seemed to argument less after their fight against Jormungandr... and him? He hasn't even changed that much...

Mitsuru: - She even learns faster than me... you're right, I'm such a disappointment... -

Naomi: - Now why the change of heart? –

Mitsuru: - Don't you see?! I simply can't change! *Sighs* I don't know why you still deposit your hopes on me, I did it once and it didn't work... -

Naomi: - But you did it twice! –

Mitsuru: - When? –

Naomi: - Have you forgotten? In the final stages of the battle, when me and Raven were knocked out for a moment, and you needed us to defeat the Reaper. All of you put your hopes and dreams on us waking up and even called out for us! And did that hope yield its reward? –

Mitsuru: - It did... -

Naomi: - Then there's your answer. I know it is hard for you, but if you can do it without realizing it, you can do it consciously... -

Mitsuru: - But how? It is very different to doing so in the middle of battle... -

Naomi: - Maybe by starting to believe on Kokoro, who is the one who deposits the most in you... -

Mitsuru sat there reflecting about it... and soon stood up and walked back towards the greenhouse. Naomi simply looked and soon smiled: "At least it is a start... now where is Raven?"

As she left to find him, Mitsuru soon reached the greenhouse and found Kokoro rearranging the ruined spot as she was rescuing the flowers that survived...

Mitsuru: - Still angry? –

Considering her lack of response, he sighed then said: - I don't blame you... if you want to hold a grudge against me, I won't complain... -

Kokoro: - I'm not like you Mitsuru... you know me well I will end up forgiving you... -

Mitsuru: - You sure? Today you showed me and Naomi a different side that we never thought you would get. –

It was Kokoro's turn to sigh as she said: - And that felt horrible... right after you both left, my ire gave way to remorse. I had been a bad person with you because... -

Mitsuru interrupted her: - No, don't say that! Just because you got firm with us and made us stop before we made it worse doesn't make you a bad person! That's a side of you that you need to embrace, just like you want me to embrace everybody else... -

Kokoro reflected on this but was still unsure: - But what if... it ends up making me someone different that you won't like? –

Mitsuru: - Then we will adapt to you, you're a great girl Kokoro. Hell, if there's something Futoshi has right is that you're the one that everyone would protect no matter what. *Both smiled at the thought* You know something, let's make a promise here: I'm willing to try to deposit my hopes on everyone again if you're willing to set a limit to your kindness... it doesn't have to big something big... as Raven has told us before, we take small steps before big leaps. –

Kokoro thought seriously about it and soon nodded with a smile: - You promise then? –

Mitsuru smiled warmly at her and soon grabbed her hand: - I promise... -

Both stared at each other in a warm bliss before the sound of music interrupted them...

Mitsuru: - What's that noise? –

They both soon left the greenhouse and went to the lobby where they found everybody else reunited for the same reason...

Hiro: - It sounds from above... -

Zero Two: - The attic to be specific... and considering that only one of us knows how to make music...

Then, like moths to a lamp, went upstairs towards the attic. Soon enough, they saw that Raven had left the door open and he was tuning an electric guitar before he then said: - All set, let's play Haro! –

They then saw that Haro used its eyes as a projector and soon enough, a video started playing on it...

When the song reached the guitar part, they all saw Raven playing that part with HIS guitar and singing it too!

Soon enough, the song ended, and Raven stopped. That's when Naomi started clapping which surprised him as he looked to see her... that was when Zero Two joined her, then Hiro then everyone else. Raven simply smiled and bowed...'

Raven: - Thank you, thank you. Didn't expect to receive an audience today... -

Zero Two: - That was good brother! Is that what miss Sarah calls 'singing'? –

Raven: - Yeah! If you got good vocals and the will to invest your time practicing, anyone can become a good singer, although that depends on the style sometimes too... -

Naomi then realized something: - You know, it just damned on me... is this how life in the Federation happens? Everyone lives there according to their talents and time is what gives them practice? –

Raven: - Sort of, it is more complex than that, but you got the basics! *Thumbs up* -

To live according to your talent instead of simply fighting forever... it seems it was the spark to make everyone reflect on their future seriously but just as they began to do so, their leader alongside Goro arrived...

Goro: - Why is everyone here? –

Ichigo: - I will ask about that later, for now I have good news: they found Zorome and Miku. –

Meanwhile, in the city...

When Zorome's consciousness returned, he found himself laying on a sofa, his head resting on Miku's lap who was also asleep leaning on the sofa's arm. He at first found it comfy but as soon as his brain got 100% working, he soon realized what the situation implicated...

Zorome: - Wooooaahhh!! –

Miku: - Aaaaaaaahhh! –

Both were now fully awake and also blushing...

Zorome: - Did you do something to me?! What was that?! –

Miku: - I was taking care of you, knucklehead!! You think I would do something weird with you!? –

Part of Zorome was glad of that... but for some reason, a little part of him was also disappointed; why? Whatever discussion they were about to have, it was interrupted as someone else entered...

???: - Oh, you're awake now. –

It was the adult from before, and without the mask and the hat, Zorome could see the adult was a female and old...

Adult: - We were both worried about you after that fall. Fortunately, I had some medicine back here in my apartment and your partner was worried sick for you. –

Miku blushed as the woman mentioned something she wished to keep secret for a little longer and soon braced for whatever mockery Zorome planned to do... but ended surprised to see none of it happened. She looked at him and saw a look of gratitude on him for once... this made her heart skip a little before she saw his attention being diverted to the adult...

Zorome: - I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused! And I'm thankful that you two helped me recover! –

He bowed in respect before the adult and soon started to talk with her while Miku sat on the sofa and thought about recent developments: "To think he would actually show me gratitude... maybe he is changing... wait, what am I even thinking? He probably did so in order to be polite with the adult! But... what if he didn't and genuinely thanked me...? *Looks at him as he asks about what living as an adult is like...* Well, at least he is realizing his dream..."

That was when she got worried as she remembered what she did before he woke up, her memories took her back to when she first arrived at the apartment. She and the woman had just settled Zorome on the sofa and had been ordered to check for medicine in her personal quarters. However, Miku got the wrong room and what she discovered was a capsule with an adult inside, which made her remember the words that Raven said before: "...making them more akin to robots than humans..." It seemed as if she suddenly got a reality check just like the one she got back during her feud against Zorome: an awful truth being revealed to her again. After retracing her steps and getting the medicine in the correct room, she reflected about this discovery as she waited for Zorome to wake up...

Zorome: - So do you live alone here? –

Adult: - Oh no, I actually live with my partner. He is napping through another emotional session right now... -

Zorome: - Emotional session? –

Adult: - Yes... it is something quite complicated to explain, so would you like a demonstration about it? –

Zorome and Miku nodded their heads but as the lady got ahead, Miku stopped Zorome...

Zorome: - Hey, what's the matter? –

Miku: - Zorome... I got a feeling that what we're going to see is what Raven has been warning us about... -

Zorome: - Oh, really? It can't be that bad! The lady looks fine and great! –

Miku: "But for how long?"

Both entered the room, which made Miku realize it was the same room she entered accidentally, only this time she now got to understand what the capsule was for... and needless to say, she was horrified to learn that Raven was right. She didn't know how Zorome took it all unfazed but she had now one goal in mind: "Zorome, I'll make sure that you awake from that illusion of yours... I care for you and I don't want to see you turned into this..."

Her thoughts were interrupted as the woman suddenly collapsed and started breathing heavily...

Miku: - Miss, miss! Are you alright?! –

Adult: - Just... tired... I think it is... time for you to leave... help me reach... the communicator... -

Both Parasites soon helped her and once she contacted the board house, they helped her sit down in the sofa. Now all they needed to do was wait and while at it, Miku wandered back into the personal room, locking at the capsule...

Miku: "Is this really our destiny if we survive riding? To become that weak and helpless, incapable of feeling our emotions and doing many things together?"

Her mind took her through a memory trip as she remembered all the events that had a mark on her: her time in the Garden, being partnered with Zorome, their first ride, the mock battle, the first operation, meeting their mentors, reuniting with Raven and Naomi, the start of their mentorship and many other trials and events that had their good and bad things...

Miku: "We lived through a lot of things as children... and I think I would like to continue doing so... but how do I convince my knucklehead partner here?"

She knew it would be hard... this is literally what Zorome dreamed about, and she was really worried that he would still wish for this twisted fate... but soon enough his voice broke her thoughts...

Miku: "Huh?"

Zorome: - ...Huh? Did I mention that? Anyways, Miku has an awful personality, but her looks aren't half-bad. Actually, I think she's pretty damn cute when she keeps her mouth shut. And while we're fighting klaxosaurs and stuff, sometimes I feel this urge to protect her. It makes me wonder if that feeling is what lets us fight together. Huh? Is that why FRANXX are built to be operated by male-female pairs? Are you alright? –

Adult: - Yes... yes I am... I just hope they hurry to pick you up. So, in the end you wouldn't change your partner even if you bicker a lot? –

Zorome: - Of course not! Miku and I have gone through a lot that I can't picture myself riding with another girl! We already had a serious talk about our bickering when one of those got out of control and affected a dear friend of ours. Then after that event, we had to basically confess our true feelings in order to win a serious fight that happened after and from that point on, I learned that if there was one person, I would absolutely trust through everything... is her... and maybe Raven too... he knows a lot about the world... –

Miku's heart started beating fast and she felt herself heating up. For some reason, what Zorome had said about her made her feel... proud and dreamy...

Miku: "Baka, baka, baka, baka! How can you do this to me you... you... you dummy!"

Her lovestruck thoughts were interrupted as the doorbell rang, announcing that the staff had come to pick them up.

She was soon being inspected by the guards for any "contaminants" alongside Zorome while another one talked with the woman...

Guard #1: - Don't make us waste our time. This isn't a place infected children like you should enter. –

Guard #2: - Cut it out. They're basically victims in all this, too. The poor, pitiful things. –

Miku: - Why? We're the ones who protect you, how can we be pitiful? –

Guard #1: - Shut up, that's something only for adults to talk about... -

Zorome: - Then it must be lame being one... -

Miku was surprised when she heard that coming from Zorome, out of everyone!

Guard #1: - Why you little...! –

Guard #2: - Leave him alone, he will be reprimanded by his superior later. –

Soon enough, both started the journey home...

A few minutes later...

Squad 13 was waiting for their two missing friends at the lobby, curious on what they had been doing...

Orion: - So, do you have your apology ready Raven? –

Raven: - Seriously? Why it is me the one that needs to apologize? I simply told him part of the truth! –

Orion: - And he didn't like it and ran off in protest which then made Miku follow him and cause this whole mess... -

Raven: - It was his decision! –

Ichigo: - Raven, just swallow your pride and do as sensei says... -

Raven: - Sometimes I hate the fact you both are literally my squad leaders... -

The doors then opened and in came the lost couple...

Orion: - Glad to see you both safe and sound. What both of you did was dangerous and nerve-wracking for everyone here so I hope you are ready to face your punishment... -

Miku and Zorome: - Yes sensei... -

Orion: - Oh, and Zorome, I heard about what happened between you and Raven so... -

Zorome: - Later sensei... I want to talk to him about it in private, alright? –

Orion was surprised but decided to allow it: - Conceded... for now go refresh yourselves and prepare for dinner... welcome home. –

Everyone dispersed and went to continue their hobbies before dinner time came. Everyone then had a healthy and relaxing lunch in which Zorome saw that some things were different now: Ikuno and Titus seemed to be closer now to each other, Mitsuru and Kokoro were also seated together and chatting while Futoshi and Pari seemed to be close to each other awkwardly...

Zorome: "Did something happened while we were gone down there?"

He had no time to ask as everyone finished and as punishment, him and Raven were put in charge of cleaning the dishes. Both pilots stayed in awkward silence for a while before Zorome soon got the courage to talk...

Zorome: - Hey, Raven? –

Raven: - Yep? –

Zorome: - About the adult thing... how did you cope with it? –

Raven: - Hmmmmm... well first I needed some time alone to cope with Zorran's loss. Afterward it was long boring hours of talking with other adults that oversee keeping most of his items and funds under lock so that they could legally pass them to me... then MORE hours speaking with them to set up new deposits and thrust funds so that I can continue living under regulation because I'm still too young to manage them correctly. And all of that in the span of almost 2 years. I had the help of Orion, Sally and the senator but it was something that taxed me greatly... -

Zorome took on that information before he soon said: - You were right, being an adult sucks... -

Raven: - Huh? Now why the change of heart? –

Zorome: - Let's just say we got a demonstration on how an adult lives down there, alright? –

Raven soon understood and nodded while saying: - Well, glad to see you at least learnt about it without losing your childhood. Enjoy being a child a little longer, got it? –

He then presented his fist to Raven who soon answered with his own, making a fist bump. They soon returned to washing the dishes in silence until Raven started humming another song that got Zorome curious...

Zorome: - Hey what's that sound you're doing? –

Meanwhile, at the attic...

Zero Two had an exhausting day. First, she realized that her brother would be leaving soon now that their mentorship with Atlas squad has ended and that really set her mood down. She had grown to really treat Raven as an older brother, it was thanks to him that his darling was recovering his old self, it was thanks to him that she witnessed a world much different to what she knew of APE and is thanks to him that the walls she had erected to protect herself had melted and she had risked opening herself to squad 13... and she was glad because it was worth it. Ichigo went from being the "blueberry b***h" to one of her best friends and the rest of the squad no longer treated her with the initial distrust when she first arrived but now sincerely cared for her as if she was with them since the Garden. And she also found a paternal figure in Orion and Sally, both reprimanding her for doing her usual pranks and misconducts but never going as far as telling her to avoid them, just to make up for them later... and whenever she did something good, they actually praised her while also being critics about it. 'Constructive criticism' they called it, but Zero Two knew that deep down the two really wanted her and her friends to do their best so that they could survive without them; and compared to how she was treated before they arrived, it was nice change in her life. But now the cornerstones of her change had to go and return to their homes and considering all of what she just recently learned, she cursed herself for having the misfortune of being in the wrong side. AND to top it all off, they would soon arrive to the Garden, that damn cursed place that Zero Two would like to stay away from; and considering her luck, she was sure that those damned 9's would be there too...

Zero Two: - *Sigh* If there was something that could cheer me up... -

That was when someone knocked at the door, and she answered: - Who is it? –

Hiro: - Zero Two... it's me. –

Zero Two: "The universe for once hears me!" – Enter darling! –

When he did, she saw that Hiro was looking a little shy and holding something behind him...

Zero Two: - Ooooh... what do you have there, darling? –

Hiro: - I... I have a gift for you... to celebrate our graduation from our mentorship! After all, it was teamwork between you and me that allowed us to be here after all... -

Zero Two smiled as she grabbed the gift: - That's very considerate of you darling... -

She was about to rip off the covers of the gift but then Hiro stopped her: - Wait... before you open it... there's something serious I need to talk with you... -

Zero Two nodded as he continued: - Considering how your mood was in the morning... you're also saddened that Raven and Naomi are leaving, right? –

Zero Two's smile disappeared as Hiro reminded him of that... but she knew it was for concern: - Yes... brother has been a great person with all of us ever since he arrived. He... he had never heard of me when we first met, and he could have been easily swindled to dislike with everybody's opinions and rumors... but he didn't. Incredibly, he saw through my emotional walls, and saw that him and I weren't that different: we were both hardened souls that had went through harsh experiences only that, in his words: "You didn't have anyone to lean on Zero Two, while I had a family back at my home. The world was unfair with you and I'm willing to give you some justice for once." –

Hiro nodded as he listened: - Yeah, that's Raven for you... you know, there was a period back in the Garden were I was a little jealous of him... -

Zero Two: - Really? –

Hiro: - Yeah, you still remember that he had another name, right? Shijugo? –

Zero Two: - Shijugo? Mhhh... I kind of do, you called him like that back at the kissing operation, right? –

Hiro: - Yeah... Shijugo was the name I gave him because of his numbers, code 045. I later learned that the name meant 'independence' and man did Raven show that. Hiro: - So, I decided to rescue her... I went to Raven and asked him for favor instead of a challenge. I told him to ask for half of certain materials I needed on Present Day while I asked for my other half. He agreed and when the day arrived, I took all the supplies and went towards the cell where she was imprisoned and succeeded... we then had an adventure outside in the snow... and she carried this book... it was called... -

Zero Two and Hiro: - 'The Prince and The Beast'... -

With tears in her eyes, she went to hug Hiro, like her life depended on it... and Hiro reciprocated with the same force as he too was crying...

Hiro: - You... you are that girl with the book... right? –

With tears in their eyes, both felt a great release from their chests as they reunited, after years of being separated, their promises, memories... and love restored...

All while ignoring that the one responsible for reuniting them together had been hearing from the entrance and was smiling...

Raven: - Little sister... a promise is a promise... I'm happy for the two of you... -

Raven: - Yeah... they did it... and we helped them. I just hope that Hiro doesn't blow it this time. –

He was silenced as Naomi kissed him and he soon kissed back. Once they separated for air, she said: - Worry about their future later... let them both live in the present... they deserve it. –

Steppes of Blue, unknown location...

Only silence filled the dark desert filled with traces of klaxosaurs everywhere. This place was commonly known as the 'Steppes of Blue', a section of the arid world that was a HUB for transit for the blue menace, meaning that at every hour, big packs would always patrol the areas as their nests resided on the outskirts. To enter this area was to commit suicide for the APE units and the SMC units avoided it whenever possible because of the high risks it presented. However, for a certain group of rogue pilots, this place was perfect for their hideout...

???: - Is the airship ready, Kassandra? –

???: - It will be done when it's done Alexander, now shut up! –

A man with short afro brown hair and green/blue eyes was discussing with a blonde lady as they walked through an underground bunker. 

(I got lucky with AI again...)

Unlike the one at the start of our tale, this bunker could be hardly called that: it was an underground fortress. However, it was old and the rust, dust and closed off areas showed it. Even so, it was big enough to house a whole platoon of 40 AC's alongside their pilots and still got space for more... imposing craft. Right now, the two pilots were at one of the main hangars where there was a big airship, almost the size of an APE VIP transport but more armed (Based on the 'Albion' class from Gundam: 'Stardust Memory') and armored.

Alexander grumbled before one of the recruits arrived in a uniform similar to APE's but painted black and with the Disavowed logo...

Recruit: - Ma'am! The 'Hermes' is loaded and ready for departure! –

Alexander: - Finally! –

Kassandra: - Not so fast space cowboy! Char! –

(The legend, the man himself! Do I need to say more?)

Another blonde man soon joined them, wearing a special helmet with a mask and in black officer uniform: - Yes Kassandra? –

Kassandra: - I'm putting you in charge of this operation. We both know that the moment Alexander has a lead, he will run off and screw up big. You will keep him on a leash and everybody who will support you on your endeavor alive. –

Char: - Understood. Do you have the roster of the volunteers? –

Kassandra passed him a list: - Z-squad, the Tri-star team, Shin, Leila, and Holland will be the ones assisting you on the MS. The logistics team is covered by Petra and her staff. –

Char: - Excellent, all of them are loyal friends of mine and will know better than to fall for Alexander's tricks again... -

Alexander: - F*** you all. I'll wait for you inside my cabin. –

Char: - Just a moment Alexander... what will you do if in the end you find him but refuses to go with you? According to the intelligence received, he is close to his squad mates and is also under tutelage of an SMC squadron. You could end up alienating him from you... -

He went towards the ship and stomped his way towards his cabin where he dropped his bags and sat down into his bed... he then took a deep breath as he pulled a photo from one of his pockets and looked at it... on the photo it was him wearing an APE uniform alongside a Pistil that looked like a teenager instead of the usual tween, but the most surprising thing about this Pistil was that it had green eyes, black hair and her smile in the photo was similar to that of a certain Stamen...

Alexander: - Dear Lidia... I'm close to him... for real this time. I'm pretty sure that you would scold me if you were with me for doing this... but I need to do it. It's time I reclaim back the life we were denied... even if it means becoming the nemesis... -

He gave a kiss to the photo before he tucked it back in his pocket and then drifted off to sleep...

Somewhere far away, in the underground...

Shepherdess: - What is this feeling I have that something unexpected is going to happen? –

She then looked towards the direction of the 'Cerasus' as someone spoke behind her...

???: - Seems it is time for the next trial... -
